Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to the next chapter of a fairy tail re-told. I'm pretty much done with this arc as a whole, yes, I know, but I might stick with the once-a-week; I've been doing to give me more time to look for errors and such, but you got this one earlier. This might infrequently happen, so don't get used to it anyway; For this chapter, we are finally getting into the war with Grimoire Heart. I hope you enjoy the chapter, as I have some pretty exciting stuff planned for this arc that I can't wait for you all to see.

Anyway, let's get on to the story

Last time on a fairy tail re-told

Natsu: the dark guild Grimore heart has invaded Tenrou Island and interrupted the trials

Lucy: This is bad. You guys

Happy: you're telling me there the strongest member of the Barem Alliance. they might be the strongest guild we've faced

Gray: stronger than phantom Lord

Juvia: I wouldn't be surprised

'It seemed like only yesterday you came and helped me. We became friends and went on so many adventures.'

'We learned the secrets of magic and uncovered power like no one would ever believe.'

' Back then, I was so naive, young, and foolish, but you were there; you were my friend, a support.'

'Back then, I was arrogant and resentful, but you were there. You were light of hope in the darkness of those times; you showed me what it meant to have faith.'

'You were my family.'

"What are you talking about" Mavis screamed. Her voice filled the room as wizards all around looked at the pair. This argument had started not long ago. In front of her stood a tall, elderly man with a long, slicked back, silvery-white hair, revealing his forehead. He also has a mustache, and a similarly long yet mildly thin and curly beard, reaching down to his lower chest. His right eye is usually covered by a simple eye patch, "explain yourself, Precht."

"Make no mistake, child," Precht said, "what I tell you is the truth" he looked down at the young girl. Behind her stood another man "come now, Warren," he said, hoping his friend would listen "surely you believe me," Warren said nothing, simply shaking his head.

"Please, Precht," Mavis said pleadingly, "this can't be the answer."

"It is true," Precht said, his voice rising. "I looked," he said, his voice growing grim, "the root of all magic," he said, "it's true nature all goes back to him" Precht stood firm as he tightened his grip on his staff.

"I don't believe you," Mavis said "you're telling me that"

"Yes," Precht said, "the nature of magic is darkness," he said, getting looks from the crowd, "and to realize our true potential, we must step into that darkness."

"Do you hear yourself, Precht" Mavis shouted back, tears starting to fill up in her eyes "you want me to forsake everything I stand for," she called, "everything Zera stood for"

"Listen to yourself, Mavis," Precht said, turning his back to her "you fail to realize this importance," he said as several others started to rise and follow him "this is our chance to gain power and knowledge; we could only dream off."

"Please," Mavis muttered, "please, old friend, don't do this."

"I'm sorry," Precht said nothing as he left Mavis behind. Several others followed him as they left the guild they had built together. It rained that day, but many considered it Mavis's tears.

Mavis vs. Hades: Light and Dark

In the present, Mavis stood in shock after seeing her old friend after so long "Precht," she muttered, "after all these years, why now" she asked, "what has driven you to attack this place" Hades said nothing as he shot several chains at the wolf Mavis sat on bringing down as the girl jumped up "fine then{fairy: sparkle}" several orbs exploded around Hades as the man jumped out of the was Mavis found herself on the shores of Tenrou Island she shot a glare at Hades.

"What," he asked, "you seem surprised," he said, smiling. "I would have thought you, of all people, would have been planning for my return," he gloated "your sympathy and forgiving nature have always been a weakness."

"You call it a weakness," Mavis said. "I call it my greatest strength," she said, standing up "why cause more violence? Then there has to be"

Hades shook his head "for once, my dear," he said as his magic energy started to build up, "you are wrong."

"Please," Mavis asked, "don't make me do this."

[##Makarov vs. Hades ost##]

"Light and dark are always meant to clash, my dear," Hades said, "this battle between our children and us is nothing more than fate." he smiled "what do you children call themselves fairy tail, huh" Hades smiled "well it seems I will be their demise soon enough."

"You so much as lay a finger on them," Mavis said, her magic power shattering the ground beneath her.

"there's the look I wanted," Hades said, smiling as he and Mavis clashed their magic, sending shockwaves across the area "you better come at me with everything you got, my dear," Hades said, moving her hands. Mavis made a large beam of light which Hades absorbed with his magic "light turned to darkness how very fitting now "{Amaterasu}."

"What," Mavis said as she blocked herself with her own spell, sending the ground around them flying "how did you learn that spell" Mavis shouted. The formula turned yellow as it shattered around her, and she sent it back to hades. He merely swiped it away.

"Are you finally taking me seriously?" Hades asked, "or will I have to kill a few of your children to get a reaction out of you" he smiled "now, which one, though? Will it be the girl or the boy?" he said as Mavis's face grew with anger.

"Fine then," Mavis said "{Fairy: Judgement}" Mavis screamed. Mavis caught Hades in a large circle, which soon forced him to the ground "stand down," Mavis begged.

"Do you know your fatal flaw, Mavis," Hades asked? Mavis's eyes widened in shock as a large magic circle started to surround her and trap her body "your fatal flaw is that you are too kind-hearted and too forgiving the second I appeared; you should have wiped me from the face of the earth" Hades smiled "you should know that this spell won't kill you, nor will have any lasting effects."

"Damn you, "Mavis's arm started to glow, "Gather! O river of light that's guided by the fairies!" on singular golden ring surrounded Hades making the man back up in shock. "Shine! To perish the fangs of evil!."

"I see, then I will spread this across the entire Island," Hades muttered as he readied his own spell. Soon as Mavis brought her hands together more quickly, their magic power grew even larger as their magic started to collide.

"{Fairy: Glitter}"

"{Amaterasu: Formula 100}"

A large explosion overtook the Island, which caused it the shake. It appeared to react to the amount of magic power in the air.

"Damn it," Natsu screamed as he stood in front of Wendy before stopping looking to the side "what was that," he asked 'I could have sworn I sensed Mavis's power in that and someone else," he said as he looked back to all the Grimoire heart goons that had surrounded him.

"I hope that was one of our guys," Happy muttered.

"Mest mentioned Zeref," Wendy said, "do you think that's their goal here."

"I don't know," Natsu said, "but I'm getting sick of these guys playing in my master's backyard."

"I can't believe you guys," Cana screamed as she blew away another group of soldiers "get lost."

"We surrounded," Gray screamed, shedding his shirt as he created several hammers with this ice make magic "there is no end to them. Are they coming out of the ground too?"

"Cana," Lucy screamed as she knocked a few backs with her whip "stay focused," she said as the group was backed into each other "man, we're going to get worn out if this. Keeps up; I'll summon Taurus."

"No," Loke said, "it's too much of a gamble."

Erza jumped back as she dealt with the magic swordsmen on the Island "this is no good," Erza said as she and Juvia backed into each other.

"That explosion, you don't think."

"We can worry about that later," Erza told her. "Right now, we need to focus on the fight at hand.

"My Gray," Juvia started, "what I wouldn't give to fight by your side."

"What was that" Erza asked

"Nothing," Juvia quickly shouted

"Manley strike" Elfman shouted. "Evergreen"

"I've told you before," Evergreen muttered, "if I need a big oaf to boss me around, you'll be the first to know," she said as she removed her glasses and used her petrification spell.

"What the" all the goons turned to stone as Elfman relaxed "it might be a cheap trick, but if it gets the job done, I guess it's manly."

"What do you mean cheap."

[##Zeref's melancholy ost##]

Zeref sat alone by a tree 'does it ever end' he asked himself, 'is there a way to solve all this without violence, or is death unavoidable

as the smoke cleared from the battel, both Mavis and Hades stood on opposite ends, catching their breath as Mavis clutched her arm as Hades stumbled "last chance, Precht," Mavis said between breaths, "stop this madness."

"You and I both know how people with magic were viewed long ago," Hades started, "and you and I know it all goes back to him to Zeref."

"Precht"

"Nowadays, it is a part of our culture," he said, "and now I can control the abyss of Sorcery," he said "like you, I have found and raised powerful wizards, each with hopes and dreams of their own" he smiled "we are two sides of the same coin old friend " he frowned "it pains me to do this to you."

"you're lying," Mavis spat.

"I'd be lying if I said I wanted to be your enemy, old friend," Hades said "however, I know I cannot convince you" he then held his hand, a large symbol that glowed around him. "I promise their deaths will be quick."

"No" before Mavis could move, a bullet hit her, piercing her through the chest, causing her to cough up blood 'what' Mavis said as tears came to her eyes as Hades looked at her, no sympathy showing for what he had to do "I can't move" she muttered.

"Like I said," Hades said, "this won't kill you," Hades muttered, "but now you will be unable to protect your precious children," said "you should have come at me with all you had, old friend," he sighed as he closed his eye "and now they will pay the price for your weakness" he turned away.

"My children," Mavis muttered as images of Natsu and Mira came to her head along with Cana, Levy, Makarov, Mystogen, Elfman, and Lisanna. Tears appeared in her eyes as she started to fall to the ground.

Natsu stopped as he looked into the distance 'what' he asked as the symbol on his shoulder started to glow, as did Wendy's "what's going on."

Makarov had fallen over Freed and Kinana rushed to his side "master" Freed called "what happened." He said the look of horror on Makarov's face was enough to tell them what was going on."

"I don't know," Makarov muttered, "but" he looked down

"Something terrible has happened."

"Lucy," Cana said almost as if she was in shock, "your hand" Lucy looked at her hand as the magic symbol slowly disappeared.

"what's going on," Gray asked.

"Mama" in the camp, Mira had come to a stop. her spoon falling to the ground She could feel it. something was wrong she was in pain why was she in pain why was her magic fading

Mavis felt a tear come from her eyes as her body slowly started to fall the pain she was feeling started to leave her body as she felt it go numb. Hades said nothing as he left her there like everyone else. He could sense her was power fading

"I don't believe it," Natsu muttered

"Master Mavis has fallen"

as Mavis felt herself land on the ground using the last of her strength, she reached up 'please, old friend, she said in the quietest voice, "I beg of you, please protect them' she said as her hand fell to the ground "my children, I hope you're ready to bear this burden."

Miles away, a figure is walking through the desert. He stopped, a feeling washing over him as he looked up "why," he muttered, his hood falling, revealing it to be Laxus, "why does it feel."

"It feels like someone just walked over my grave."

"What do you mean master Mavis has fallen," Wendy asked

"Stay back, Wendy," Natsu called as he took out more goons" we need to get out of this first," Natsu told her. "Just stay where you are."

"Okay," Wendy muttered.

"Man," Lily said as he tried to stand up, "if I had more magic power, I could help Natsu and Happy" he looked over to happy, who had just led a group off a cliff.

"Just stay back," Happy said. "Natsu and I can handle this," Happy said

"he's right," Carla said, "it can't be helped."

"Damn it," Lily said

"Hey," Wendy asked, "did you see where Mest ran off to."

"Forget him," Carla said, "worry about yourself."

"she's right," Lily said, "focus on using your power to heal yourself."

"It doesn't work like that."

"I was afraid you'd say that."

Natsu stopped on a cliff as he got surrounded "don't tell me you guys are done yet," Natsu said "you invading my master's home is bad enough, but precious scarf got turned black," he said as an evil grin grew on his face "let me get some more frustration out so I can think properly."

"what"

"You're venting on us."

"We had nothing to do with your scarf turning black."

"I'll do more than turn it black," one said. "I'll turn it to ash{Fire bullet}" he shouted as he fired some fire at Natsu "huh, I don't care how strong a fire wizard he is. There is no way he's walking away from that," he said as he turned around to see Natsu eating the fire "wait he can't be"

"Did they really do that" Wendy muttered

"Must be hard to get good help these days." Happy muttered as Carla and Lily nodded behind him

"Now I've got a fire in my belly," he smiled "take this {Fire dragons: wing attack.}"

"it's the salamander," they all said in shock, "the chosen son of magnolia," as his attack landed them all on the ground.

"No matter what we throw at this monster, it gets shot right back at us." one screamed.

"who you calling a monster" Natsu growled

"Well, well," a voice called as everyone turned to see Zancrow walking up to them, "looks like I hit the jackpot," he said, bending down and placing a hand on his knee. "We meet at last, Salamander."

"Yeah, we do," Natsu said, "you," utterly confused about who this was. The only indication was that he knew he was the Salamander which didn't help.

"wait," Zancrow said, a little hurt, "you know who I am, right."

"of course I do," Natsu muttered, "your umm," he looked to the side, "your uh," Natsu stopped, "Happy."

"don't look at me," he said. "I have no idea who this is."

"The names Zancrow the flame destroyer, there's not a fire wizard alive who doesn't know me," he said smiling As Natsu shook his head which only fueled Zancrow's rage, "how could you not know about me," Zancrow said anger in his eyes "come on if you know about Grimoire heart then you at least know about me right."

"I mean, I've heard tales of the white terror," Natsu muttered, "now that was a horror story."

"what" Zacrow screamed "ah, forget it," he said as he looked towards his men. "I'll admit you gave my men a good thrashing," he said as he looked towards his men "does this man scare you," he said.

"No sir," one said

"Yeah," they said before long; a black flame engulfed them before blowing them away.

"You're all out of the guild," Zancrow shouted as he burnt his own men

"You just killed your own guys," Natsu shouted, "why."

"Weaklings have no place in Grimoire's heart," Zancrow shouted as he turned to face Natsu again "just like how you shouldn't tolerate that weakling right there," he said, pointing to Wendy, "what are you, her protector? Don't make me laugh."

"what's it to you" Natsu shouted, "so what I'm helping her gain strength that shouldn't concern you."

"It should," Zancrow said, "but enough about our underlings," he said as he created more black flames, "time to die, Salamander."

"Black flames," Natsu muttered before long; he felt surrounded. "I can't," Natsu mutters. "I can't eat it," he shouted as he jumped away, a look of realization coming over him as Zancrow jumped to the ground.

"I thought a fire dragon slayer could eat any flames in existence," Carla asked.

'Natsu," Igneel's voice rang through his head, "while it is true that you can eat any flame in existence. However, there is one flame that you are still vulnerable to."

"It can't be," Natsu muttered.

"So, you must realize what you're up against," Zancrow said

"you'll recognize it by its lightless glow and dark color."

"You," Natsu muttered, "you're a god slayer."

"Got that right, ya lowly dragon hunter," Zancrow said

"Levy," Mira cried as she ran up to her friend who was still carrying Gajeel "what happened"

"Gajeel took a beating," Levy told her, looking around, "so no one came here" she then noticed Mira, who looked distraught, "are you okay, Mira."

"I'll be fine," she said, placing a hand on her shoulder before she stopped "come out now," she said as Azuma appeared from the trees.

"Look like I found my prey," he muttered.

"What," Levy asked

"stay behind me, Levy," Mira whispered, "this guy is bad news."

Erza and Juvia had managed to defeat all the goons surrounding them. As they tried to stand up, Erza and Juvia got ready for combat once more; however, something seemed to grab one of the men causing him to fall over "wait," he screamed as he attempted to grab something, but he was only able to thrash in the water making it splash "please give us more time," he cried as he was dragged away into the endless forest far from sight the only sounds left being his screams.

"Oh no, "someone else said as soon each man there exploded, their blood flying everyone as Erza grabbed Juvia, jumping out of the way. She could only watch in horror as she landed away from the screams of pain sending chills down her spine.

"What is this" Erza asked as she came to a stop when she heard foot stopes as a Meredy emerged from the forest, her eyes dead set on Erza and Juvia, showing no emotion as she marched forward, walking through the blood-soaked waters without so much as flinching

"fairies located," she muttered, " target names Erza Scarlet and Juvia Lockser."

"a child," Juvia said, " she looks no older than me or you, Erza."

"I'd say no less than two years," Erza said, "but stay on your guard. there's something off about this girl" Meredy said nothing as she tilted her head, giving the pair a wicked smile that was enough to chill Erza to the bone

"Umm," Elfman said, confused, "Is that a bad guy or a florist."

"Whatever he is, he took a bath in Cologne," Evergreen said. The pair were cut off by Rustyrose, who only smiled at them.

"It would appear in my hunt for fairies I stumbled across some of their fodder."

"What," Elfman asked, "who you calling fodder" Rusty rose said nothing as he pointed to the pair "that's it"

"This is bad," Cana said before she could move again. All the soldiers around her disappeared "what

"Where did they all go."

"They no longer served their purpose," a voice called. They turned to see Caprico standing on top of a tower "now you must deal with me."

"Who's that" Gray asked

"he's bad news," Loke said, a look of fear on his face "he's way stronger than those other guys."

Hades came to a stop as he clutched his side. His battle with Mavis had taken its toll." my seven kin will make your fairies crumble and fall, Mavis," he stood up again, trying hard not to fall. "I have trained them all in the arts of lost magic."

"The battle of Faires and devils has begun"
