An- Hey, this is Jane. This was something I was thinking about to myself. I don't think this was properly explained in the stories, so I thought I'd write a small blurb with Niori and Erin discussing it.

"Erin," Niori said quietly, "do you think that you could have given birth to Elijah if you had had to stay in our world to deliver him?"
Erin stiffened slightly. She'd thought of this.
"I obviously can't say for sure, but I believe that he could have been able to live in our world, yes."
"Why?"
"Because he was conceived in our world."
"Well, then, shouldn't he have died once you arrived in Middle Earth?"
"I don't think so, because he belonged in Middle Earth. I think he could have survived in our world, but he didn't actually belong there, obviously. He's half hobbit."
"So you're saying my baby died because he was conceived in Middle Earth, and so he couldn't make the transition to our non-magical world."
"Yes, that's my theory." Erin said softly.
Niori nodded to herself.
