Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to the conclusion of the rise of the dark guild saga. This one took longer than I would have liked, but it's whatever. So as always, let me know what you think about this arc and the entire thing overall. And like last time, I'll be posting a poll, so you tell me which arc you enjoyed the most now on to the chapter.
I have read all your comments, and I know how much is riding on this chapter. To be honest: I had the outcome planned for the arc planned out a long time ago, though your suggestions are appreciated and interesting. I'll explain more on that later, but the fate of this chapter was decided when I was planning out this arc in any case. I love the feedback, so now, with this out of the way, let's get to the saga's conclusion.
'It was December 16, X784; that was the day it happened, the day we lost everything on Tenrou Island,'
Mavis sat alone. The sound of laughter coming from the camp brought a smile to her face as she felt feet approach "master" a voice called she turned to see Mira along with Natsu standing next to her she turned to see her smiling "the ship should be ready to take back to the mainland in a few minutes" Mira informed her "have you done everything you need to."
"Yes," Mavis said, "thank you."
"and" Mira started "about Laxus."
"I have nothing to say about that boy," Mavis said, "he has my thanks for coming to our aid, and I will offer him passage back to the mainland."
"I understand," Mira said
"try not to sound too happy there," a voice called the three looked back to see Laxus leaning against a tree "look, there was no alter motive behind what I did," Laxus said "you were in a jam, so did what any decent person would and helped" Laxus smiled as he looked at Mavis "could ya do something for me," he asked, "give the old man my regards."
"Wait, Laxus," Natsu said before he stopped a presence coming over him "what is that," he asked. He felt something. It felt dark, cold, angry. He looked around as the air around them went quiet, too quiet.
Gildarts had a similar reaction pushing Cana away as she looked at him confused "is something wrong" she asked.
"No," Gildarts muttered. "God, I hope not."
Together we are more.
Back at Camp, Gajeel and Wendy had a similar reaction to Natsu. Both had stood up and had been looking around. There was a presence in the air, and they could feel the wind going still. "Gajeel," Wendy asked, "you feel that," Wendy asked.
"Yeah," Gajeel muttered, "what is it."
"Maybe it's Lucy's stomach," Happy said, trying to hold back a laugh
"That sound is not my tummy, feline," Lucy screamed
"Oh my," Mira said as she, along with Natsu, Mavis, and Laxus, walked up to them; Natsu was still looking around and appeared on edge. "I hope we have enough food to tide you over. Till we get home."
"Come on, Mira," Lucy said as Mira chuckled.
"Eating a lot is manly," Elfman shouted before being hit on the back of the head by Evergreen. He looked back, staring at her as she glared at him "please tell me that was an accident," he growled.
"Oh, I meant it alright," she growled out, her eyebrow twitching "if I have to hear you say man one more damn time," she shouted before hitting more, "I'm going to turn you to stone."
"Why does it matter to you" Elfman shouted, "like it takes very little to get on your nerves anyway."
"a real man wouldn't talk to a lady like that," Evergreen shouted
"Ya know," Mavis said, getting their attention, "flirting was a lot less destructive in my day," she said as both blushed.
"we're not flirting."
"All jokes aside," Gray said "are you three okay," he asked Natsu Gajeel and Wendy, who seemed to be on edge "come on, the fighting is over. Relax a bit" the trio ignored them only to continue to look at the clear sky the air was still and quiet too quiet for there liking. However, they could feel something. They couldn't;t explain what it was, but it was there. Before long, a roar rang through the air as everyone clutched their ears "what the hell was that" Gray shouted, " a monster."
"That was a dragon roar," Wendy said "no doubt about it" she didn't move from Natsu and Gajeel's side, "but it felt off," she said
"you guys hear that" Gildarts called as he ran back to camp. before falling to the ground as Cana rushed to him said, "damn it, my wounds are burning up" Gildarts noted, "no doubt about it, it's that dragon," he said
"This is the dragon that beat you," Natsu asked, looking around now he knew was his hair was standing up "then why is it here" Natsu stopped when he looked fear coming across his face as Gajeel and Wendy all froze in place next to him.
"what's wrong," Happy asked.
"Speak to me, child," Carla asked before both stopped seeing what they saw "what is that."

In the sky above them is a dragon with a mastodonic appearance and has an entire upper body covered in black, round scales, which, in turn, are decorated by spiraling blue markings. His lower body, specifically his chin, chest, stomach, inner tail, thighs, and arms, are gray and appear relatively smooth. His mouth is full of razor-sharp teeth, and attached to his chin is a protrusion that resembles an arrowhead. His large wings are feathery in appearance, akin to a bird's; The scales disappear at the end of its tail, which ends in a stinger-esque shape.
"That thing is massive," Elfman shouted as it flew over the
"I don't think it's friendly," Wendy muttered. Natsu and Gajeel shook their heads "it has to be him," she muttered
"You know this dragon," Gildarts asked.
"Only through stories," Mavis said, walking up, "passed from one generation to the next" a scowl grew on her face "Acnologia, the black dragon of the Apocalypse."
"That doesn't sound good," Lucy muttered "what do we do" she looked at Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy, who all seemed to be paralyzed with fear, but this was different. They all seemed stuck "come on; guys, snap out of it."
"I don't think this is the same kind of dragon that raised Natsu and Wendy," Happy called, "this one seems evil."
"what are you trying to say about Metalicanna," Gajeel asked
"it's coming down," Lily screamed, forcing everyone to look as Acnologia landed in front of them "what are we going to do" he shouted.
"We need to run," Gildarts said "there's no way we can fight the thing," Gildarts said, his hand instantly going to Cana, pulling her close "there's not a man who could take that thing on"
"Gray," Natsu said, suddenly breaking out of his fear, "you need to grab Juvia," he said before turning to everyone else "we need to run and get to the ship," he said "now," Acnologia roared gain destroying what remained of the camp as its wings rose flying in the shy as Acnologia destroyed the entire forest along with Natsu stood up looking in the eye "the whole forest."
"With one roar," Levy muttered, "how could one thing be so powerful."
"Not just powerful," Gildarts said, "pure evil" he looked around "we need to move if you want to stay alive; you need to keep moving," he shouted "now run back to the ship," he shouted.
"The ship is right through those trees," Mira called "now get moving," she said as everyone started to leave. Gray ran, placing Juvia on his back. He began to run as fast as he could
"Wendy," Caral called, "can't you communicate with dragons," she asked, "can't you talk with them."
"Anyone can talk with dragons," Wendy said, "but this one didn't come here to talk with us" As Acnologia landed in front of Erza, she jumped back as it slashed the ground. "Erza," Wendy called as Acnologia turned to face the "why us" Wendy muttered, "why are you doing this" she shouted at the dragon "answer me" Acnologia turned to let out a low growl as it looked at her making Wendy back up in fear.

"it refuses to speak to them," Zeref muttered as Kain and Rustyrose watched in terror as Acnologia attacked the wizard slamming the ground "man doesn't talk with vermin, as is the case here" Elfman was knocked into the sky and was caught by Evergreen only to be swatted away by Acnologia "soon we will all know who is truly at the top of the food chain" Zeref smiled as he saw Natsu attempted to help people to run "looks like I find myself at the crossroads once again and at the end of an era."
"Farwell Natsu"
Acnologia made another move as Natsu backed up in terror, only to be stopped when a giant wolf came over him, blocking the dragon and forcing it back. "Mavis," Nasu called as she moved Acnologia to stand back.
"Natsu," Mavis called. "Mira, get everyone to the ship now," she said. "I'll buy you, kids, some time."
"We can't leave you," Natsu shouted
"we'll stay and fight by your side," Mira shouted
"Yeah," Elfman called, "no overgrown lizard tearing us apart."

"Will you brats do what I say" Mavis shouted, tears forming in her eyes "now get to the ship now, damn it," Mavis said as everyone looked at her in shock; Acnologia tried to break free from her grip "please," she said "I won't let him past me, I promise" he shouted, "don't worry about me."
"She can't be serious," Gray shouted "no man left behind," he said, memories of his encounter with Deliroa and Ur's sacrifice played in his head, and he'd be damn if another friend of his had to live through that "we can stay and fight."
"No," Natsu and Mira said
"You can't be serious," Elfman asked
"We can't just leave, Mavis," Levy shouted
"You heard her," Natsu said. Before anyone could protest again, they turned around. Everyone stopped when they saw the tears on their face.
"We need to leave," Mira said, trying and failing to hold back her tears "you heard Gildarts, we have no chance," Mira said, "and Mavis gave us her orders, and we have to respect them," she let out a sniffle "now come on we need to run" her and Natsu pushed past them "come on."
"Now!" they screamed as everyone slowly started to move. Mavis didn't need to look to know that they were crying or hurting, but she would stand firm. She would not let this monster past her. He would not harm them. She failed once she would not fail again.
'don't worry,' Mavis said. 'I will see you all again,' she said as Acnologia pushed past her. She moved her arm, making the wolf use its claw to strike Acnologia. "I don't know what your goal is here," Mavis shouted, "but I'll be damned if I let you harm my children," she called as she engaged Acnologia before the wolf let out a large beam striking Acnologia back as it stood up before engaging the wolf again both trying to overpower the other as Acnologia destroyed the wolf making the wolf fall to the ground "do your worst beast," Mavis said "you will not harm them" as Acnologia rushed forward only to stop when several swords flew past her "what."

"Real Men," Elfman shouted, tears in his eyes, "don't leave their mother figure behind," he screamed.
"Come on," Gray shouted "we can take the thing," he called, "if we work together" soon, everyone was running up to Acnologia, hitting it with all types of magic power.
"I told you brats to run," Mavis muttered out. she gave a slight laugh "you're going to be in so much trouble when we get home
"We know," Mira said, landing next to her, "but when have we ever been good at listening," Tears formed on her face as Mira looked at her as Natsu and Laxus landed next to her.
"you've taught us time and time again," Natsu started, "that if we stand together, there is nothing we can't do," Natsu screamed "as I told you before, we're all going home together, so we gotta show this thing he picked a fight with the wrong wizards" Natsu screamed as he ran in."
"You are all insane," Mavis muttered. "I swear"
"What can we say," Laxus said "we get it, honest, "Mavis felt a laugh coming up as Laxus turned to the group "Alright, everyone," Laxus said as he started to charge up his lightning, "we gotta hit this thing with everything we got," he screamed, "let's show this monster whose boss" "{raging thunder"} he roared.
"{Heaven's wheel: scattered petal}."
"{super freezing arrow}."
"{fairy machine gun: leprechaun}."
"{evil: explosion}"
"{Solid script: fire}"
"Go, Sagittarius"
Mavis looked in shock as she felt Zera's presence next to her. She looked at her and smiled as she bent down next to her "ya know," she said, "you got some fearless kids."
"I know," Mavis said, "they are something else, aren't they"?
"Damn," Laxus said, "alright Natsu, you and your dragon slayers time to shine," he shouted.

Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy all flew by with the help of their exceeds. They all had collectively agreed that this was a stupid idea, but unfortunately, their friends talked them into this no man left behind "we only got one shot at this," Natsu said, "so let's make it count," screamed as the others nodded. "Igneel," Natsu whispered, but they heard it, "please give me strength, dad."
Gajeel smiled. "Metalicanna, I don't know if you're out there, pops," he smiles. "I don't even know if you're listing, but please, just once, help me protect my friends."
Wendy also smiled, looking into the sky "Grandineey, please, mom," Wendy said, "please, even if it's just a portion, please just give me your strength," Wendy said, knowing that their wishes would go unanswered, the three-dragon slayers rushed forward miles away Meredy had looked into the distance sensing the power in the air. Still, she also had felt a tinge of hope. It had brought a smile to her face.
"Now," Natsu shouted, "let's give this everything we got"
"{Fire dragon: roar}"
"{Iron dragon: roar}."
"{Sky dragon: roar}"
the three let out their breath attacks as they merged, hitting Acnologia and forcing him to slide back into the water. As they landed on the ground, everyone ran up to them "did you get it" Gray asked, "is it over."
"Not even," Gildarts said, walking up to them, Juvia in his arms, "it's not even going at half the power it used against me; it's playing with us."
"Yeah," Natsu said, "but hopefully that last attack can buy us" Natsu stopped when Acnologia busted out of the water "oh no," he muttered as Acnologia raised its wings and started to fly up. before it began to take a deep breath, "oh no."
"Breath attack" Gajeel screamed.
"We threw everything we had it," Wendy said, "the power of three dragon slayers wasn't enough."
"No," Lucy said, tears forming in her eyes, "this is the end, isn't it," Lucy said
"there's no way I can create a script that can protect us from that," Levy said, tears in her eyes. "I'm so scared."

"don't worry," Natsu said, grabbing Lucy. "I'm here," he said. "I can protect you all," he screamed, standing up.
"Natsu's right," Mira called "we won't give up," she shouted "if this is the end, we will face it together, "Mira screamed, "we won't die crying, you hear me, you stupid beast."
Gray smiled as he looked at Juvia, who had been placed against a tree, still breathing softly. He smiled as he placed a hand on her shoulder "don't worry," he muttered, "I'll be the one protecting you this time."
"If this is the end," Erza said, walking next to Natsu and Lucy, "I'm just glad" Erza smiled. "I'm just glad that I got to meet it with my friends and family."
"We face this together," Happy said, "you with me."
"Aye," Carla told Happy, smiling.
"The exceed squad is one unit," Lily said, tears in his eyes "we fly together, and we die together.
"Gildarts," Cana said as Gildarts put a hand on her shoulder, "figures the second I tell you the truth, it all ends."
"it's alright," Gildarts said "be glad that you told me," He smiled, "and I'm glad I got to be by your side to the very end."
"Thanks, Dad," Cana said, "you think we'll see mom again."
"I hope so."
"Grandpa," Laxus muttered, "the old man is gonna kill me" he smiled
a bright light shined around them. Wendy was about to say something when she felt a pair of hands on her no one could react as Acnologia soon unleashed its breath attack. A blue beam struck the Island creating a large explosion making the water rise before clearing, leaving nothing but a small crater. As the water started to fill where the hole was, Acnologia began to go Zeref looked sorrow in his eyes as he turned away.
"I guess this is the end," Zeref said as he walked away on the magic council ship; Dornbolt reappeared as Lahar ran to him. "I'm sorry," he muttered as he released someone from his grip, "I thought I could" he looked away. "I could only grab two," he said
"You did what you could," Lahar told him as he looked at her looking into the distance "come on, let's get home."
'It was that day, year X784, that was the day the black dragon known as Acnologia wiped Tenrou Island off the map, search parties went on for one year, trying, hoping to find survivors, but none were ever found.'
The battle is over, and Tenrou Island is gone, but what does this mean for Magnolia and the wizards that call it home. find out next time as the journey continues
I hope you enjoyed the Tenrou arc. As much as I enjoyed writing it, I have a little something different planned for the next filler arc, and well, I will be doing it but not in the way you might think. So far, though, I have enjoyed writing out the key of the starry sky arc, and I think you guys will enjoy it, at least I hope so anyway; see you guys next time, oh, and like last time be sure to tell me which arc from the rise of the dark guild sage was your favorite only three arcs this time. In a small journal, a tall woman writes a newspaper flying past her as her blue hair fly in the wind. Looking back, she could see the sight of the ocean. It was calming, but it made her think about that day again. It had been so long, six going on seven years. There wasn't a day that she didn't think about it "hey," a voice called. She turned to see a young boy running up to her "come on, let's get back" she smiled at him.
"Alright," she muttered. A slight breeze of wind pushes past her making her look back. A sense of dread came over her, but it passed. She smiled before taking a deep sigh and walking away before opening her journal one more time. writing one last thing at the bottom of the page
