Wendy: we've managed to secure our designated clock piece, but the creep Byro showed up

Wendy and Byro stood on opposite sides of each other before Byro could move forward, the clock piece started to glow "what" he muttered all around Fiore. The clock pieces began to glow, making everyone look at them "could this be the endless midnight that the archbishop talk of" he asked as he saw that the other clock piece started to glow as well.

"You voice, let me hear it."

Kinana shot up, looking around, sweat coming down her face "who said that" she asked, "who are you" she cried, tears forming on her face as she looked around.

"Please tell me who I am."

The Key that activates the stars

Byro slammed the clock piece into the ground as Kanaloa started to shrink, going into his hands. He looked at his companion "you did well, my friend," he said as the octopus shrunk in his hand. "Please let me take it from here" he turned to Wendy, who was glaring a hole into his head. "I'll admit you did well to conquer a warrior such as Kanaloa," Byro complemented "however you stand no chance now that you face me."

"we'll see about that," Wendy said, "cause I've got a fire in my belly."

"I thought I recognized your fighting style," Byro muttered

"What," Wendy asked

"Your name is Wendy Marvell," Byro said, "the sole surviving member of the wizard team once known as Fairy tail, and student of the rouge wizard Salamander, otherwise known as Natsu Dragneel."

"How did you" Wendy started "how do you know who I am."

"We have all heard stories of the wizard team that once guarded magnolia," Byro explained, "and the phrase you say was said to have been said by Salamander before he went into battle" Byro scowled at her, "and in his final years, he was said to have a student who used a similar magic as he"

"Is this bad" Michelle asked as she and Jude looked at Romeo

"I don't know," Romeo said, "but I didn't know Zentopia would know about Wendy's past."

"How about this" Wendy growled, her magic power starting to leak out "you leave my family out of this" the ground began to shake as Byro released his own magic power, "and we focus on the thing going on now."

"If that is what you wish," Byro said, "but you still have no hope" Wendy then jumped into the air.

"take this {sky dragons: roar}" she screamed as Byro waved his staff, nullifying the attack before it hit shocking wendy "what," she asked as Byro stood firm in front of the clock piece "fine then," she said, "that was wind now witness the might of the heavens" she screamed as she unleashed a wing attack on him only for it to have the same effects as Wendy tried to hit him he ducked under before kicking her into the side of a wall "all you legion platoon punks have cheap tricks don't know ya."

"I can dispel any magic in existence," Byro explained, "you stand no chance."

"As if," Wendy shouted as she started casting enhancements on herself only for Byro to nullify them smiling. Wendy rushed in. Byro tried to hit her, but he managed to grab her hand, snapping her risk and kicking her back into a wall. As Wendy winced, pain shooting through her arm, as she stood up again "you aren't taking me down" behind them; Coco watched in horror on her face as Byro showed no mercy to Wendy.

"This is barbaric," she muttered.

"Sorry sir, I overslept again," Dan shouted, sitting up only to see that he was still in the tomb "oh, just a dream."

'Think Wendy, ' Wendy muttered to herself, 'he can dispel any attack you throw at him. A smile formed on Wendy's face as she charged in again.

"Do you not pay attention," Byro asked as Wendy vanished from sight, kicking up one of the pillars she bounced up, much to Byro's shock

"Nullify this," Wendy shouted as she landed on one of the pillars she kicked up "{leading sky arrow}" Wendy screamed as she kicked the pillar toward Byro, who had to jump out of the way. Wendy went up to trying to land a kick, but he managed to block the attack. Gripping his arm, Wendy attempted her dragon roar only for Byro to nullify it with his hand and kick her away.

"Come on, Wendy," Romeo screamed

"You think she can handle it," Michelle asked

"of course, she can," Jude said, "my daughter's friends were quite the stubborn bunch in their day," he smiled, "and I assume that this one is no different."

Byro scoffed as Wendy stood up again "the fate of the world is in the balance," he told her "Tell me, child, do you not care about the lives of others" he asked "my legion platoon, and I am ready to sacrifice our lives to make it so."

"You gonna start fighting," Wendy asked, "or do you plan on talking me to death."

"Pay attention, Coco," Dan said suddenly "the real fight is about to begin," Dan laughed, "and we get a front-row seat."

"Things are starting to heat up," a voice said though no one heard him. It was Jackpot. He smiled as he watched Wendy face off against Byro. "I hope that you enjoy this sky maiden because this may very be your last battle."

Flashback

"Wait, Zeref Cultist turned you into a snake," a voice asked. It was Natsu. He was walking up to a younger Kinana who was sitting in the medical ward. Mira was next to her, smiling as she handed the little girl food on the other side of the room Mystogen was leaning against the wall hiding a chuckle at Natsu's confusion, who nodded at the man's question "that's umm" he scratched his head looking away.

"yep" Kinana "other than that, my memories from back then are pretty hazy," Kinana admitted, "but I do remember one thing," she said, "someone important to me made me a promise, they said they if we were ever torn apart, that he would ride the stars to come to find me."

"That's umm nice," Natsu muttered.

Behind them. Mystogen looked at Mavis "master," he asked, "do you have any idea what happened with this girl."

"She was under a curse," Mavis told him.

"Yes," Mystogen said as Natsu walked up to them, "that explains the magic energy I felt coming from her when we first meet."

"The curse on her was interesting, saying the least," Mavis said "it might explain her amnesia," Mavis admitted, "that voice in her head is concerning to" Mavis rubbed her chin, "I think we should keep an eye on her" she glanced at the girl who was currently talking with Mira "if her memories as a snake resurface it could spell trouble for her future."

"Yeah," Natsu muttered as he looked over; he saw Mira had her writing something on a clipboard. There was rare care in her eyes that he just hadn't seen in a while. It made him smile "don't worry, master," Natsu said, "I think we can handle it."

Kinana woke up to see that she was under a blanket "huh," she asked

"Oh, so your awake," Freed's voice called, getting her attention as he walked over to her "you seem tired, so we stopped to rest," he said, "are you alright."

"Yeah," Kinana muttered, "the clock piece," she asked,

"Still in our possession," he smiled, "we took care of that legion platoon member, so we have nothing to fear here." he smiled, looking at her, seeing the sorrow in her eyes "are you alright."

"Yeah," Kinana told him, "Just I think activating my magic triggered something," she said, trying to stand up. "I'll be fine."

"If you're sure," Freed said, "but if you need rest, I'm sure the others will understand."

"No, it's fine," Kinana told him, rubbing her head "moving around might help me a bit anyway," Freed nodding going back to holding the clock piece as they started to walk away in silence, the only sounds being the footsteps they made as they went to the meetup point.

"Are you hearing that voice again?" Freed asked suddenly

"Yeah," Kinana admitted, "it's weird," she said, "back then, I wanted to know who it was so bad," Kinana admitted, "but now after so long."

Freed nodded in understanding after everything. He felt a swell of pity for the girl "if anything happens, don't worry," he said. "I promise that Wendy Bickslow and I will be there for you," he smiled "you're our friend Kinana, and we will protect you " Kinana wiped a tear from her face as she smiled at Freed.

"Thank you."

The air blew away as Wendy and Byro continued their fight, with Byro barely moving as Wendy attempted to land a hit on him, only he was able to block every strike she was able to land and kick her away. Meanwhile, Jude looked over several notes, a worried look coming over his face as Wendy slammed her fist on the ground "you say you're ready to sacrifice your lives," she growled "what utter bull shit," she shouted, shocking Byro.

"I'm fighting for the lives of the people I call friends," Wendy told him. "I'm not going to lay down my life because I know that if I do, I'll just cause them more pain" Wendy smiled, wiping away some blood from her mouth. "I won't stop because I know exactly what I'm fighting for," Wendy screamed as she attacked again.

"You can't tell," Dan muttered, getting Coco's attention, "but he's already broken several bones," Dan said "but you can't tell by looking at her face, but that's not the look of defeat she's wearing"

"Come on, Wendy," Romeo shouted, "get up."

"she's taking a beating," Michelle said

"she'll find a way," Romeo said, "cause that's the kind of wizard she is" Wendy slammed her fist in the ground. "if anyone going to replace Natsu as top dog in Magnolia its going to be her"

"She has my respect," Dan said, "she truly is a worthy adversary."

I don't get it, Dan," Coco asked, "how could someone as brave as she is" she looked away, "be an enemy to Zentopia."

Wendy charged again. Byro froze as a dragon appeared behind her, almost as if she had changed before she landed a good punch to his face.

"She did it"

"it's not enough."

Byro frowned as he kicked her away again "seeing you," Byro muttered, "fills me with emotions I have long since forgotten; anger is at the forefront," he said, "you talk about the sanctity of bonds, yet you are nothing but a lowly wizard chasing coin."

"What does my profession have to do with my beliefs" Wendy shouted as she struggled to stand up "we all have to put food on the table."

"The fact that you would dare compare yourself to our ideals insults everything that archbishop teaches," Byro said," you are nothing."

"So just because you've devoted yourself to this archbishop," Wendy muttered, the pain finally starting to kick in, "gives you and only you the right to tell others what's right and wrong," she asked. "that's a load of crap," Wendy, shouted blood coming from her mouth "and you know it," she said as anger seeped its way to Byro's face "you want to look down at what I do fine but know that this is the life I choose just as following Zentopia is the life you choose" Wendys shouted.

"Zentopia has a higher purpose than any of the dribbles you spouted," Byro spat "the world is filled with chaos, so many people might not even notice the activation of the infinity clock, but we have to minimize the chaos and show the people of this world towards the righteous of action."

"Blah blah," Wendy shouted, "add thou shall shut up to those ideals" Wendy shouted "you want this to be a clash of ideals fine" she shouted, "but know that even if I lose, I know my ideas hold strong," she said, "case my ideas are about living your life with an open heart, that is the doctrine of fairy tail."

"you'd dare mock Zentopia," Byro growled

"Should she be provoking him," Michelle asked

"I have no clue," Romeo muttered

In the Zentopia church, many people gathered, "is the archbishop okay" someone asked, "what's his condition."

"The cardinal is convening," another said. "I hear that there selecting a new archbishop."

"don't be ridiculous," a voice called a tall man with short gray hair and dark brown eyes covered by glasses without a frame. He wore a navy-blue cassock tied with a lighter sash, a necklace with Zentopia's symbol, and a cloak with gold parts. He wears a gold and navy-blue Mitre on his head, which has the sigil of the Zentopia Church emblazoned upon it.

"Sir Lapointe, when did you get back," someone asked

"Replacing the archbishop is utter nonsense," Lapointe "we have more complex matters to worry about. There is a traitor in our midst," Lapointe said, shocking everyone "the news of the infinity clock has become public knowledge, and there are also the attacks on our churches."

"Is there any proof of this"

"Do you think I have reason to lie," he asked as everyone shook their heads. "I am suspicious of one of the survivors of an attack bring him to me so that I may question him, he said, turning around "from no one, I will tend to the archbishop; no one is to enter his chambers but me," he said leaving them.

"This is a holy war," Byro shouted as he kicked Wendy away, slamming her on the ground "the retrieval of the infinity is the sole mission of the legion platoon," Byro shouted, "your misguided principles couldn't even compare."

"Byro hasn't even used an offensive spell," Coco muttered

"don't be surprised," Dan said. "Byro is strong. There are probably only four other people who could go up against him and live to talk about it."

"a weak and helpless fool like you is unfit to lead this world out of the darkness," Byro said as he motioned for Wendy to keep fighting him. As she tried to stand up, he grabbed her, tossing her to the side "a coin chasing wench couldn't possibly understand what we fight for," he shouted as he dodged another hit from her grabbing her by the face and slamming her to the ground "in this world of chaos people will cling to anything that gives them hope, and if that thing is Zentopia then cling to it they shall" he shouted "and that's what we do" he should "if the archbishop orders us to find the clock then that's what we do" he screamed, "if we have to sacrifice ourselves or others then so be it."

"That doesn't make sense," Romeo shouted, "don't you care that people are suffering cause of what you're doing."

"It's foolish to act upon your emotions." Byro shouted, "To provide the correct path and to follow the correct path, we are forced to make hard choices!" he screamed as he continued to dodge Wendy's attack landing devastating attacks on her, forcing on the ground, "The world is always full of contradictions. I have the sense to know that at least. Therefore, it's natural that at the end of the path I choose, there will be sacrifices." he shouted

"Hey Coco," Dan said, getting her attention, "you have any idea what that meant" Coco just smiled at him.

"I'll tell you later," she said

"making difficult choices," Jude said, suddenly getting Byro's attention, "that must be rather easy for you." he said, "harden your heart, and you can justify any action you take," he said, his mind flashing back to how he treated Lucy in her childhood to the pain he caused her cause he much like her felt the pain of his wives died and in anger acted out on her cause he wanted her to be the Heartfilia name with pride.

"You dare talk about righteousness to me," Byro shouted.

"you call this righteous," Wendy shouted, standing up "cause if you ask me, all I see is a bully," she cried "whether it be with Jellal, Grimoire heart hell even in Edolas," she shouted, "those with power forcing those they view as weaker to give up their freedoms in the name of some fake righteousness" she cried "any path that leads to the suffering of others is wrong, I don't care how you justify it, people are allowed to live the life they choose," she said now fully standing up looking him the eye " that's true even for a filthy wizard like me," she said as she clutched her fist "we choose to use our skills to help others, sure it's our job, and we get paid for but for it, but we can create happiness for those we help" she shouted "if you're so willing to follow that path what does it say about you" she screamed "I'll never lose to someone like you, cause fake righteousness won't help anyone"

"I can't believe what I'm hearing," Byro said, "you dare mock our no all of Zentopia."

"Yeah, I do," she said, "cause unlike you, I've chosen to live my life with an open heart."

"What utter nonsense," Byro shouted "time for your divine punishment," he screamed.

"Do your worst," Wendy shouted, "cause striking me down," she smiled "will only prove that I'm right," she screamed.

"Lord Byro," Dan screamed, "you know that you're not allowed to use the divine arrow on people."

"Now burn and be purified in the fire," Byro shouted, "of your own sins" he screamed "{Divine arrow}" he called shooting his attack which narrowly missed Wendy shocking her as he felt the attack narrowly miss her Byro was shocked as he looked to see Coco had moved his staff making the attack miss its intended target."

"Zero points, lord Byro," Coco said, "please, you have to stop all the suffering," she started. "This is not what Zentopia stands for, "she shouted, "We should protect the weak, building them up, not knocking them down, can't; you see, it is hypocrisy."

"Blasphemy," Byro growled, "have you forgotten your teaching, Coco."

"No," Coco said, "and I'm fully aware of the penalty of betraying the legion platoon," Coco said, "but I can no longer see the righteousness of the path we're on."

"Righteousness is like an arrow," Byro told her. "It must pierce through all to reach the truth."

"If that arrow must shoot through all to find righteousness, then it's wrong," Coc shouted, "and be snapped to pieces," Coco cried, "Lord Byro, these people they choose to live with their hearts open, helping others where they go, how can you tell me there no righteousness in that," she asked, "how could that philosophy that way of life be any less wrong than ours."

"you" Byro growled "you have been corrupted," he screamed "you traitor," he screamed "you will not be allowed a tribunal, the only thing that awaits you," he shouted, "is death," Dan said nothing, only looking away as a single tear formed in his eye a loud explosion rang out as Coco closed her eyes taking one last look at Jude who like the other could only watch in horror as she bright light overtook her only to be shocked when the blast missed her she looked up to see that Wendy had taken the blow for her.

"You are a bastard," Wendy growled

"you'd dare," Byro started

"Shut up" Wendy shouted. "I've heard enough of you to think you would so easily turn on your ally disgust me."

"she's right" a voice called Wendy looked up to see Lyon and Laki smiling as they looked at him "people like you make me sick," he said

"Everyone," Wendy muttered as Alzack and Bisca came over another ledge, Freed and Kinana smiled as they were next to them Bickslow smiled as Lily rushed to Wendy's side as she fell on one knee, "and they have the clock pieces," she said as Lily smiled at her.

"You alright," he asked.

"I'll live," she said as she forced herself to stand up again "now," she said, "as you can see, we have gathered all the clock pieces," Wendy gestured around as everyone held their clock pieces up "now hand that one over, and we'll leave in peace," Wendy said, "we'll seal them away, but I'm sure as hell not letting you have it anymore."

"you'll have to take it from me," Byro said, " you wizards have stepped into a darkness you couldn't imagine," Byro said," the infinity clock was originally Zentopian property."

"Really," Lily asked. Wendy just shrugged.

"Fine then," Freed said, "we'll take it by force if we have to," he shouted.

"Be careful," Wendy muttered, "magic attacks do not affect him" as Kinana and Freed landed next to her.

"So, we'll have to resort to hand-to-hand combat," Freed asked

"Please," Byro shouted, "I have been trained to take on fifty opponents at once," he growled, "you wouldn't even warm me up." before he could move, the clock pieces started to glow, a large bell sounded as a look of horror grew on Jude's face

"what's going on," Michelle asked "Uncle Jude."

"It can't be," he muttered as the clock started to sound off.

"the clocks forming," Wendy muttered as she covered her ears "why," she stopped, a familiar scent coming over her "no," she muttered as she looked up several people walked from the under the cock smiles on their face "it can't be a few of them she recognized" Cobra and Angel two former members of the oracion seis" she looked at the other "Erigor a former member of Eisenwald, however the person in the middle is what scared her the most.

"We meet at last, sky maiden," he said, stepping forward. He was tall and had a more muscular body. He also has black hair and tanned skin. A unique-looking beard, a chin curtain, and several facial hairlines around his mouth are shooting upwards in an odd pattern. a look of horror grew on Wendy's face as he smiled at her " I must say it is an honor to meet you."

"you'd dare show your face here," Freed shouted much like Wendy he was shocked at this person arrival what this meant for them one could only guess but he knew that this was bad news for all parties involved

"Who is that," Kinana asked

"he is the son of master Makarov," Bickslow told her "

"and he guild master of the only dark guild not a part of the Barem alliance," Wendy added.
