Welcome to Chapter Six! I know I said that I was gonna add the game intro after Search and Destroy I, but I decided to change that. I'm gonna do an intermission between 1-2 and 1-3 here, and do the intro when Chapter 00 gets adapted or follow through with my original plans to an extent.

And now that people have noticed Anime M4A1's cursed gun, the GFL subreddit's going nuts over it, and only one guy saw SOPMOD with an M16A1 in one shot, then with her own weapon only a second later. At least it was fully animated.

I expected the anime to screw up, but this bad? MICA really should have chosen a company with a bigger budget.

Sector 09 Base

Neo-Soviet Union

July 03, 2062

Commander Ian Becker

Ian stood at the entrance to Garage 04, the garage that housed the base's main Humvee, waiting for Echelon 1's return. He had been wise enough to put on sunglasses when he went outside, as the sun's rays had been beaming down on the base, blinding those without eye protection.

After getting the full report on the recently completed mission, he planned on submitting that T-Doll Contract Kalina had prepared to IOP and then explore the rest of the base. The base's maps showed more areas than G36 had shown him, and given that he was waiting on Helian for his next job, a stroll through the rest of his base wouldn't hurt anyone, he decided.

The veteran exhaled as a forest green Humvee with Griffin's shield on it rolled into the base, the automated gates opening for the military-issued vehicle. Once it stopped, the door opened and four brightly colored T-Dolls hopped out, the red berets (or American flag tie) of its members standing out.

"Hello, Commander!" M1911 yelled, approaching him first. "No casualties on our side, and one destroyed Command Post on Sangvis' side!"

"I saw the mission results, but I'll be looking forward to the full report. Anyways, good job."

Ian patted M1911 on the head, enjoying how she smiled and hummed happily at being praised. After being approached by MP5, he gave her headpats, too, causing her to blush cutely, then melt into it like M1911 did. He looked up to see the drunk AR of the team chug some vodka, obviously celebrating her success in her own way.

"Oy, AK." he said, getting AK-47's attention. "You got MVP status, from what I saw. Great work, by the way."

"Wha- MVP?" she drunkenly asked. "That isn't true... I think I drank too much, hehe..."

"You didn't." Ian confirmed. "In that last firefight, you destroyed a Prowler, set three of them on fire, and then you destroyed them without missing any shots."

It took a few moments for it to register in her head, but when it did, she yelled in triumph and punched the air, giving her Commander an unblocked view of her large bust.

One he did not take, instead looking at the British T-Doll that hung by the back of the Humvee, fidgeting with her hands aimlessly. He instead addressed her.

"Hey, Miss Sten." Ian said, startling her.

"W-wha- oh, you're the Commander, right?" Sten spluttered.

"That's right."

"Then you'll take me in, right?" Sten asked hopefully, flashing her cute hazel eyes at him. Not that she needed to, as Ian had already decided to recruit her.

"Yup. I'll get Kalina to put you in the roster and I'll assign you to an Echelon, then you'll officially be a member of Sector 09's roster."

Sten's eyes sparkled with joy, and a bright smile formed on her face as she took Ian's hand in her own and shook it vigorously.

"Thank you! I won't let you down!"

The Commander smiled at the SMG's enthusiasm, telling M1911 to escort her inside while MP5 and AK-47 briefed him on the Echelon's first mission in a long time.

July 3, 2062

Here's my report for the first day at work.

The drill was basic: hunt down and destroy some target drones in a nearby forest. However, I was contacted by Helianthus, a Senior Officer for Griffin who prefers the moniker Helian, during the drill. She's kinda like the teachers at the academy, but even more strict.

Anyways, after having me find and destroy scouts from Sangvis Ferri, she told me everything she knew about them. Turns out, their AI went rogue and slaughtered the Sectors' human population, and then they took it over. Either way, the Soviets called on Griffin to contain them so they can keep their façade to the world intact.

She's got another mission for me, but she has to confirm whatever HQ told her first. So during that period, it's gonna be a bit boring here.

Now for the base itself.

Right now, it's a fucking mess. Sangvis Ferri attacked it three months ago, destroying many important parts of the base, killing off half of our staff, and killing the last Commander. Only seven T-Dolls, a handful of servicemen, and one logistics officer survived. In its current state, this Sector's base is incapable of everything but basic missions. Hopefully that'll change in the coming months.

And speaking of the staff...

The logistics officer, Kalina, is a twenty three year old ginger from Russia (Or the Ukraine, I haven't checked her file yet.) Anyways, she's been responsible for the base's integrity during the month Sector 09 lacked a Commander, but now that I'm here, I'll deal with it. Oh, did I mention that she's rather cute?

In terms of her attire and behavior, it's unprofessional, but I give zero fucks about that. It's much better than her being a hardass who will tear you a new one for saluting wrong.

A G36 T-Doll serves as the general maid for the base, and she's in charge of the service personnel here. I wonder why she continuously squints, though.

M1911's a squad leader here. Her subordinates are a loli T-Doll named MP5 and a blonde drunkard named AK-47.

There's a Springfield, an M1895, and a P38 working here, but I haven't met them yet.

M1911's team found a Sten T-Doll duting the training mission and brought her here. I'll get her assigned to M1911's Echelon after I'm done writing this.

Speaking of which, the day isn't exactly over yet, and I've got a lot to do, so I'm ending this entry.

Commander Ian Becker

Ian sat in his office for the first time since arriving at Sector 09, holding the T-Doll Contract in his hand. Affer assigning Sten to her Echelon, he had decided to submit the Contract to IOP and get another T-Doll sent to Sector 09, as M1895 and P38's continued absence worried him. Pulling out a pen, he carefully wrote the type of T-Doll he wanted onto that part of the contract, along with the sum Kalina set for it.

He carefully folded the contract up and placed it into an envelope, sealing it and marking down the address to IOP's local factory.

Now done, he called one of the base's drivers to his office, along with M1911.

He didn't even have to wait a minute before the two entered the room.

Facing the driver, Ian addressed him first. "I want you to take this-" He gave the driver the T-Doll Contract, "-and deliver it to IOP's local factory."

"Yes, sir!"

"And I want you to protect him, 1911." he told the blonde HG.

"Understood, Commander!"

"Good. Get to it. I'd like for you to return before Helian gives me that mission."

Ian watched as the two Griffin members left the room, then sat down in his chair, sighing to himself.

Speaking of which, I hope she waits until 1911 and that driver get back.

Kalina

Writing combat reports was a pain in the ass, Kalina thought as she carefully stripped the combat telemetry Echelon 1 gathered from their drives and converted it into uploadable files. It was a necessary job, as a completed combat report (or floppy disk to some Commanders) contained valuable data that aided in increasing a T-Doll's combat efficiency, but a tough one.

Especially when all they had at Sector 09 was outdated computer equipment. Fortunately, Kalina was experienced with old computer equipment.

Unfortunately, not many people had her skills, meaning that for the most part, she was alone in her work.

"Maybe I should teach some of the T-Dolls how to do this..." the orange-haired girl told herself absentmindedly.

The door to the data room opened and the Commander entered the room, casting his gaze across it. Based on how he acted, it was the first time he entered this room.

"Privyet, Komandir." Kalina greeted from her work station.

"Oh, hey, Kalina. Didn't notice you at first." he said, walking down the small set of stairs and onto the ground level. "This is the data room, right?"

"Da. The majority of my work takes place in this very room."

"It looks to be a little barebones, if I'm being honest." The Commander placed his hand on one of the three data banks in the room.

"It is. Sangvis hunted this room down to destroy our T-Dolls' backup memories. Why they would do that, I don't know."

"They did the same with the dorms. I have no idea why they did that, given that Sangvis Ferri doesn't usually go after backup data (from what I heard), but they hampered us greatly." the Commander said, taking his hand off of the data bank and instead approaching Kalina's workstation, watching the ginger do her job.

"How long does this proccess usually take?"

"With top-of-the-line facilities, one hour. With this?" Kalina gestured towards the ancient computer on her desk. "Make that ten hours."

"Ouch. I'll get you better equipment in here, then."

"When you do, try to get another data bank. T-Dolls' Neural Clouds take up a lot of space, and there's barely enough space for ten T-Dolls' backups."

"Noted. I ought to see what other facilites SF fucked up during their attack. See you in a bit."

The Commander patted her shoulder, then made towards the data room door. But before he went through the door, he cast a glance back at Kalina, and the ginger was sure she had seen him smile in her monitor's reflection before he followed through with his plans and left the room.

Tactical Doll G36

G36 entered Echelon 1's dorm room with a mop and a bucket in her hands, prepared to clean whatever drunken mess AK-47 left behind from her celebratory drinking. But instead of a mess of spilled vodka or some other fluid the drunkard may have found (or created,) the floors were clean, and AK-47 was fast asleep on the cardboard boxes that served as a bed.

"Phew, finally done." the new arrival, Sten, said as she set down a mop she had.

"That wasn't even one of the worst messes!" MP5 lamented. "According to M1911, back when A-91 was alive, she and AK-47 got really drunk, came here, and decided to have a... night battle, I think she said?" the SMG said confusedly. "Anyways, according to her, it was a terrible mess."

G36 knew of that one. When Echelon 1, which consisted of M1911, AK-47, an MP40, a Norinco Type 64, and A-91, had successfully completed a major operation against Sangvis Ferri alongside the old Echelon 3, they had been allowed to host a celebratory party in the base, A-91 and AK-47 had done so by drinking. A lot.

MP40 and Type 64 almost shot the drunks for leaving the "mess" they left behind.

"Night battle? Did they get into a real fight?" Sten asked.

"No. You do not need to know those details, Miss Sten." G36 finally said. "Neither do you, Miss MP5."

"Fraülein G36! I did not see you there!" MP5 squeaked in surprise.

"I came here to clean your dorm." G36 explained, setting her own cleaning supplies down. "But, it looks like you already did so. I'm sure your leader would like that."

"We didn't want to inconvienience you, gnädige Frau."

"I appreciate your concern, Miss MP5, but it's my job to clean up after you lot." the maid told her. "By the way, Miss Springfield is returning tomorrow morning. The Commander got word just now."

"Springfield?" Sten asked.

"She's our base's only Rifle-class T-Doll." MP5 explained. "She's like a mother to the residents of Sector 09, as well as a barista and a chef."

"She sounds like a lovely person." the British T-Doll said.

"She'd take a liking to you, Miss Sten. I must go prepare the base for Miss Springfield's return now."

With that, G36 picked her mop and bucket up and left the room.

Commander Ian Becker

Sitting in his office, Ian was now eating a delicious mutton stew G36 had cooked for him. While it was already good, the maid had assured him that Springfield's food would taste even better.

As he finished the last bite of food, someone knocked on his door.

"Come in."

The door opened to reveal M1911, who had a bright smile on her face as she skipped into the room.

"Mission accomplished, Commander!" the blonde HG reported. "IOP's sending us a new T-Doll tomorrow afternoon, and we got back safe and sound!"

"Good work. Did you find any opposition on the way?"

"Eh, just a couple of bandits." M1911 replied nonchalantly. "They weren't too heavily armed, but AK has some backup weapons now."

"Acknowledged. By the way, Springfield contacted me earlier." Ian said.

"Wait, really?!" M1911 asked loudly.

"Yup. She was surprised that Sector 09 had a new Commander, but she said that she'd be back tomorrow morning or tomorrow afternoon."

At that point, M1911 could barely contain her excitement, openly cheering and jumping around in his office in joy.

"Wow. Springfield's popular around here, isn't she?" the Commander said to himself.

When M1911 stopped skipping around, she faced Ian and stood in front of his desk, hands clasped in front if her.

"Do you need me for anything else, Commander?" she asked.

"No. You're dismissed."

The HG waved at him as she left his office, leaving him alone for the time being.

July 3, 2062

Okay, this is today's final entry. And all I can say is that I've had one hell of a first day of work. A training mission, two small-scale assignments, and a pending third operation, all on the same day. Like I told myself earlier, this is what I get for being assigned to a frontline base. Beats being on the run from the government, though.

Anyways, I've got a pending T-Doll delivery for tomorrow, and one of the T-Dolls that were already here are coming back from a scouting trip she's been on for a couple of days.

So there's plenty of stuff to look forward to tomorrow.

I ought to be in bed by now, not writing in this thing.

Good night, world.

This one took a bit longer to write than Search and Destroy I, and I don't know why, seeing as this is shorter than that one.

Amyways, Friday has now become "see how much the GFL anime screwed up" day, and now I'm having to rely on Discord buddies and YouTube videos to see what's going on in Dual Randomness. I might make the next chapter Intermission II, or if I'm impatient, I might just go ahead and write Search and Destroy II, but we'll see.

Thank you all for reading Recollection, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
