She took them to a field by her house, the same field that Luz learned to fight.
"Brings back memories, doesn't it, Luz?" Lilith asked.
"Yeah." Luz said.
The other's looked confused.
"You've been here?"
"Yeah, remember all those years ago when Aunt Lilith brought me home and I was covered in bandages?" Luz asked them.
"Yeah, I remember that. You were 6." Emira said with a nod.
"Well, let's just say that I learned who I really was during that time."
This set of a wave of surprise with the parents, turning to Lilith as she gained a fond smile on her face. Lilith only said she wanted to hang out with Luz more.
'I am going to get answers about that.' They all thought at the same time.
"Well, who wants to go first?" Lilith asked.
Amity decided, seeing as Lilith was her teacher, it made sense. It worked for Luz, because she wanted to go last.
"I'll go first." Amity said, walking to the center of the field.
"Very well, Amity. Let's make you some targets." Lilith said as she drew a spell circle, using construction magic to create several figures from the stone.
Amity smiled and got her fingers warmed up. She ringed her fingers together and popped them, ready to show what she can do before she was ready.
"Alright, let's do this!" Amity said to everyone, "Abomination, Rise!"
Drawing a spell circle, Amity created a large abomination before her. More bulky and stronger than average looking abominations, it showed how powerful Amity was in abomination magic.
"Abomination, Attack!"
The Abomination charged at the stone structures and started to destroy them. Amity still controlled it from a distance, making small hand gestures to change its properties to solid or weaponize its limbs when it swung. Lilith watched her star pupil go to work, silently noting any flaws and errors.
'Her control has improved greatly but she relies too much on her abomination magic. Her fire magic and others are just as useful, I will have to help her focus better on them.' Lilith thought as the family cheered for Amity.
They were greatly impressed by her skills.
"I have seen great improvement with your Abomination magic. Later we shall work on your fire magic." Lilith said, "So, who is next?"
Skara was the fastest to hold her hand up and step forward.
"I'll go next!" Skara said with a smile.
"Excellent, I rarely get to see Bard magic in action, mostly because Raine hit me in the head with their violin and I try to stay away from them when they hold an instrument."
"That was an accident! You know I had stage fright!" Raine shouted in embarrassment.
"That didn't mean you had to strike with your violin." Lilith said.
"I panicked!" Raine said as the children chuckled at their parent
"Well don't worry, Aunt Lilith. I don't have that problem and I prefer a harp for my signature instrument." Skara said as she drew a spell circle, summing her harp to her hands.
"Proceed, Skara." Lilith said.
Lilith made more stone training dummies for Skara as she turned her harp and gave a strum. The targets started glowing as Skara began to play. The targets started to float, and she made a strong cord, which destroyed them.
'Her control of very impressive. Raine must be very proud of her.' Lilith thought as Skara have a string of cords that manipulated the rocks to form a golem of sorts that she could control. 'Oooh. Now that is a new use, I haven't seen before.'
"Incredible. You truly are Raine's daughter." Lilith said, "Even if you came out of Camila."
"I can confirm that Raine had a heavy hand in the process!" Eda said, "Hey, Lily, when was the last time you got any?"
"My sexual life is none of your concern." Lilith said.
"What sexual life?" Eda asked with a smirk.
Raine and Camilia shook their heads at this while Odalia sighed, it was always like this. They can get along, but they still argue.
"Can we focus on Skara?" Odalia asked, reminding them.
Lilith cleared her throat and went back to her focused state.
"Yes. Skara, I saw great magic in you, whereas I don't know much about Bard Magic, I can say that you are on your way to becoming the future leader of the Bard Coven."
"Thanks, aunty. I hope I can make it that far too." Skara said as she stopped her harp, making the golem crumble to the ground as she rejoined her siblings.
"I know you will, songbird. You can already perform without my nervousness, so that's good." Raine said to their daughter.
"Thanks, Nini."
"Now, I believe it's the Twins turn." Lilith said.
"Ready to dazzle her, Ed?" Emira asked her brother.
"You know it, Em." Edric said as they stepped forward.
The two made spell circles and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
"Not that I don't have faith in them, but I wonder what they will show us." Camilia said with curiosity, rubbing her chin.
The clouds disappeared and two demons replaced them.
"Hmm, very interesting." Lilith said, "That takes a lot of skill."
"But that's not all. We can show the abilities of what we disguise ourselves as too." Emira said as a slouching, purple demon with a single horn, sharp teeth, and a reptile like tail.
"Really? Show me."
Emira smiled as she charged at a stone target, swinging her tail to destroy it like it was nothing!
"Our illusions have gotten so strong, that our illusions are as real as can be!" Emira said to the family.
"Anything we can think of it becomes as real as flesh and bone." Edric said as he had red skin, 3 black horns, bat wings, and 4 armored arms.
"Amazing." Lilith said, "I see great things coming from you two. You may become the best Illusionists on the Isles."
Lilith turned her attention to Luz.
"I don't think that stone dummies could prove your skills. You need something... mobile." Lilith pulled out a sword, "And I'm sure you're dying for a rematch."
Luz held out her handle and a blade formed from it.
"I've waited for almost a year." Luz said, "You won't win this time."
"We shall see." Lilith said as she coated her sword in magic, making it very heat resistant.
It would have to be to go against a lava sword. The other's looked confused, there was no way Luz could go against Lilith, regardless of how good Luz is, Lilith is undefeated in sword fighting. Both of them stood still as the wind blew, rustling the trees as the family watched from the side.
"What are they waiting for?" Edric asked as he and Emira turned back to normal.
"The right moment to strike but also thinking of what the other might do." Odalia said as she paid close attention.
Luz made the first move and ran at Lilith. Lilith blocked her strike and swung her sword at her. Luz brought her sword up and blocked Lilith. Both of them locked eyes before they broke their clash and began clashing their blades with great skill and grace.
"Nice to see that you haven't lost your edge." Lilith said, dodging Luz's swing, "And you've worked on your speed since we last dueled."
"Teaching myself a new variety of weapons that I create does that." Luz said as she blocked a slash and ducked, sliding under Lilith. "And be lucky I don't have any of the REALLY destructive one."
"I can't wait to see how my first student does in hand to hand combat." Lilith said, managing to knock Luz's sword out of her hand, "Yield."
Luz smiled, she had a few Human games that gave her ideas for weapons. Assassins Creed was one of them. A small blade came out of Luz's wrist, which surprised Lilith.
"I don't think so." Luz said.
Stabbing at Lilith, Luz made her jump back in surprise and allowed her to reclaim her lava sword.
"Hey, isn't that hidden blade from that Assassin's Creed game mom got Luz?" Amity questioned.
"It is! Luz actually made it!" Skara said in surprise.
"We are going to talk about this." Camilia said as she looked to Eda. "I'm not saying Luz can't do it but making "video game" weapons shouldn't be allowed. Humans have ideas that are too crazy weapons."
"What can one weapon really do compared to the hundreds she made?" Eda asked.
Lilith smirked.
"You always were full of surprises." Lilith said, "Next you'll tell me you have two of those."
"I do, but the blade of the other broke." Luz said, using her hidden blade to block Lilith's attack.
Switching up her attack style, Luz began to dual wield in her own unique style.
"Your knowledge of fighting has improved since the last time I saw you, it makes me proud." Lilith said.
"Well, I had a great teacher."
Spinning her sword, Luz slashed the ground to send a wave of lava towards Lilith as she countered with an ice spell! Everyone covered their eyes as steam obscured all of their visions. Luz was smart and knew Lilith would do that. She used the steam to get behind Lilith and kick the sword out of her hand. Luz placed her hidden blade against Lilith's neck, while her sword was resting against her chest.
"Yield." Luz said.
Lilith smiled.
"It would seem that the student has surpassed the master... I yield."
Nodding to her aunt, Luz deactivated her lava sword and shifted her hidden blade back in. Lilith walked away from Luz before turning around. They both bowed towards each other in respect. The rest of the family came and cheered for them as Luz put the hilt in the empty sheath.
"You're the only one to beat Lilith in a sword fight, not bad kid." Eda said.
"Even in a magic duel, Lilith is nearly impossible to defeat. Surprise attack or not, it's still incredible." Raine said.
"Not even Camilia could defeat her with her numbing hands could beat her in school." Odalia said as she looked to Camilia. "Not most healing coven witches would think of using a numbing agent spell as an attack spell."
"Well, I'm not most Healing Witches." Camila said, giving Odalia a look.
"Hey, we can wait until later to bang." Eda said.
"Edalyn, must you ruin the moment?" Lilith asked with a frown.
"Hey, they were flirting." Eda said.
Luz just rolled her eyes at this, family antics as usual and she enjoyed moments like this.
"I am truly proud of how well you've done." Lilith said, putting a hand on Luz's shoulder.
"Thanks, Aunt Lily, that means a lot." Luz said with a smile.
"It's earned. You have learned everything I know, and then some." Lilith said, "There's nothing left for me to teach you."
"That might be true but I still want to spar every now and then. I can't find anyone else that can put up a good fight as much as you." Luz said to her aunt.
"We certainly can't." Amity said, gesturing to all of their siblings.
"Yeah, I don't want to get my back snapped." Emira said.
"Or get a black eye." Skara added.
"Or risk having my foot cut off again." Edric added.
"You guys are just wimps. I expected more from you Skara, since you and Amity are in the school grudgby team." Luz said with her arms crossed.
"Have you ever seen me happy playing that game?" Skara asked, "I joined because I wanted to hang out with my friends and try and get muscles."
"Not enough by my eyes." Luz said with a smirk.
"Do NOT make me harp you." Skara threatened as she made her harp appear in her hands.
"Please don't fight." Amity said, getting between her sisters.
"Okay." Luz said, putting her hands up.
Luz totally knew she would win a fight against Skara. The family then headed back home, where Lilith stayed a bit longer before leaving back to her own home.
