Hey fairy tail fans, welcome back to a fairy tail re-told. The grand magic games arc is now in full swing, but enough about that. Anyway, I'm going, to be honest. I plan to write out a training arc. I had some pretty interesting ideas, but problems came in for certain characters and how it would work if it should be one episode and all that, so I decided to scrap the idea but fear not, the team will not be losing three months as they did in the original series, but you'll just have to read to find out the alternative take I did for their training

Last time on a fairy tail re-told
Natsu: so, to get Magnolia back, we have to win the grand magic games
Lucy: that's the plan. I think we can pull it off
Wendy: we are fairy tail we can handle anything
Gray: anything but pickled plums, right, Wendy
Wendy: shut it, Gray
Natsu: we need to get you over that fear of pickled plums
Wendy: they're too sour
Dornbolt looked in shock as he held the book in his hands. Whatever Lahar was talking about started to drown out as he repeatedly read it. "Hey," he said once his friend stopped talking, "this report you gave me," he said, "Is this real"
"I thought it might pique your interest," Lahar said as they walked down the hall "we heard rumors that Fairy tail had returned," he told him, "And we managed to catch sight of a few of the wizards some time ago" Lahar had to admit even he was surprised that they were alive. "Some say that they were even wearing the same clothing" they rounded a corner to see the chairmen Doma looking out the window, dark energy surrounding him.
"Is everything all right," Dornbolt asked.
"don't mind him," Org said "as you know, doubt have heard," he started, "the wizard team known as fairy tail has returned." he looked out the window "it's obvious that the large magic power we sensed was related to their return."
Doma nodded; all of Fiore had felt the large amount of magic power that surfaced when the rouge wizard team resurfaced "how could they have survived Acnologia."
"Maybe we should ask master Makarov," Dornbolt said, "his Grandson and one of his students were among the other wizards that were reported missing after Acnologia had appeared seven years ago."
"I did talk with Makarov," Org admitted "how much he knows is always questionable, but he remains a neutral party in all of this" he looked away, "I think he was just glad to have his grandson back." shaking his head "according to him they used an enchantment to protect themselves, but a side effect accrued that left them trapped for seven years."
"So, what does this mean," Dornbolt asked
"They are no longer a concern for us," Doma said "we will let the guilds deal with them" he left, leaving Org Lahar and DOrnbolt; as they watched the chairmen go Org, shook his head.
"Is something wrong, master Org" Lahar asked.
"No," Org said, "in fact, I might be remiss to say I'm glad that fairy tail is back" he let out a laugh "if their victory over Grimore hearts' seven kin is to be believed, they could be valuable assets in the case Tartaros makes a move" he let out a laugh as he started to walk away.
"You know they are going to try to take back Magnolia," Dornbolt said
"Yes," Org noted, "it will be an interesting development."
"I'm looking forward to it."
Song of the Stars
"So, we have five months before the games start," Lucy said "if we get in and manage to win, there's a chance we could get Magnolia back" Lucy smiled as she and her friends stood at the beach. Mavis had access to a beach house somewhere that would allow fairy tail to train privately and without worry. It had belonged to Yuri Dreyer when he was alive and is still owned by Master Makarov.
"We need to stay focused," Carla said, "we have to increase our magic power as well."
"I hope you kids are ready," Mavis said, "cause I'm going to work you to the bone" she gave them an evil grin.
Natsu sat underwater, mediating, remembering to hold his breath as he got ready above him. Happy smiled. as Natsu let out a roar, 'wow,' Happy said as the water pushed him back. 'Natsu is amazing,' Happy thought to himself 'it's amazing that he can do his roar while under all that pressure.' behind him, Gray smiled as he left to start his training.
Lucy sat at the beach, Capricorn walking next to her; the goal for her right now was to sustain her magic power "you need to strengthen the mind," he explained, "feel the land around you, the air, the sensation you feel as you become one with nature" he smiled as he felt her magic power start to grow "there you go Lady Lucy" he smiled as she struggled to hold before falling over "this takes me back" he said as Lucy let out huffs of air "reminds me of when I assisted with your mother's training."
"Hey," Lucy asked, "what do you know about primordial magic anyway."
"Not much," Capricorn "all I know is that it the magic that all others are created," he explained.
"So is that the magic Hades wanted," Lucy asked.
"Yes," Capricorn said, "might I ask about your current curiosity."
"Nothing," Lucy told him, "Mom told me about it once is all" she looked away, "and Mavis said that magic is what we make of it. There is no one truth."
"She might have a point," Capricorn said, "they say a wizards magic is internally connected to emotions," he said
"You think if Hades realized that, he could have avoided falling into the darkness," Lucy asked finally.
"I don't know."
Gray smiled as he created a large Ice sculpture, letting out breaths of air. As he stood back, he looked over to see Juvia holding up several blocks of water "don't push yourself," he called to her.
"Juvia will be fine," she said before falling over the bodies of water coming down as she felt herself in Gray's arms a light blush coming over her face as he helped her back to her feet "I would have been fine" Juvia grumbled as she started to lift the water again
"how's your recovery coming," Gray asked as Juvia placed the water down

"Fine," Juvia said, "I can at least feel my toes again" she laughed as Gray looked away "is something wrong."
"I," Gray started. "I'm sorry," he began "the only reason you're in this state now," he said, "is because that chick was looking for me."
"Gray," Juvia said suddenly in front of him, "Juvia would do what she did again in a heartbeat" looking away "because you are important too, he-" she stopped looking him in the eye "to me," she said
Gray said nothing, his mind going back to the sight of Juviu after her fight with Meredy, the rush of fear he felt as he rushed to save her. He wanted nothing more than revenge at the moment, hell he would be lying if he said he still didn't want revenge, but the way Natsu gets when she's brought up in conversation. It makes him wonder what exactly happened when the pair fought. He would always get this solum look in his eye. Mira had told them that the two had a lot in common but refused to elaborate on what it was.
"Something wrong, my love," Juvia asked.
"hey, when you were fighting Meredy," Gray asked, "did she remind you of Natsu."
"yes," Juvia said much to Gray's shock, it was the truth their similarities between the two that much was for sure and not just the pink hair, "Juvia doesn't know why but she reminded her of Natsu, and in a way me" she looked away after saying that "someone who people shunned, turned away by everyone because of what we were," she said trying to hold back tears "because Juvia was"
"different," Gray finished. He didn't want to believe it no matter what they"you're nothing like her, neither of you is."
"it doesn't matter," Juvia said. "I could have been her; I could have ended up just like that," Juvia told him "just luck, that's all that separated, us," Gray said nothing as Juvia turned away "let's not think too much about it, okay," Juvia said as she turned to get back to her training "come on, we have to catch up, or Natsu will show you up again," she said, smiling at him before jumping in the water. Gray let out a laugh.
"Yeah," he said. He saw Erza practicing her sword strikes before he decided to get back to it as well.
"Alright," Mira said as she looked up, "time to get back into the swing of this" she let out a breath of fresh air next to her was Kinana as the two sat back to back "right now, we focus on getting used to using our magic" Mira started she had been told about Kinana's trouble with her magic how when using it causes her to pass out. She would be weak for days on end in most cases "right now, you need to relax your muscles."
"Right," Kinana said
"Doing this will also allow me to access my other Satan souls as well," Mira said
"What," Kinana said, breaking her concentration, "you have more in there" Mira just laughed at her question, leaving it up in the air "no fair, Mira."
in the woods next to them, Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel fell to the ground after a three-way spar
"you guys haven't gotten weaker, I see," Wendy said as she wiped some sweat from her face "good to know."
"Ha," Gajeel said, "just you wait, kid," Gajeel started, "we're just getting started"
"Is that a challenge, black steel," Natsu asked as all three stood up
"you bet your ass it is Salamander," Gajeel said
"we're getting fired up," they all screamed as they started fighting again
"it's good to see they're getting into this," Carla said
"Aye," Happy said
"We should start to," Lily said
"what" Happy and Carla asked, "we're not fighters."
"Not yet you're not," Lily said, "if our run on the grimoire heart airship told me anything that we can't always rely on our dragon slayers to be there. so today, we begin turning you two into proud fighters."
"Carla," Happy said as he hugged the white feline, Lily had shifted into battle mode and had started to move towards them brandishing his sword "I'm scared."
"Me too, Happy," Carla said, "me too."
later that night, everyone had returned to the house; they had all changed into blue robes as they walked around "hey, Levy," Lucy asked, "how as you're training."
"it's going well," Levy said. "I might not be doing much, but I want to be able to help you guys out as much as I can."
"Man, that training was manly," Elfman screamed as Gajeel and Gray laughed at his antics. Mavis had extended the offer to train here to everyone who got trapped on Tenrou Island. The only person who turned her down was Evergreen stating that Laxus said he would handle it.
"Man, this place is great," Cana said, taking a swig from her drink, "Mira said that the food should be ready any time now."
"All right," Levy said, "more of Mira's cooking," she said as the trio looked at the night sky
"Hey, you think our friends are looking at the same sky we are," Lucy asked
"Yeah," Cana said, "hopefully after all this over," she smiled, "we can all look at the sky from Magnolia."
"I'll drink to that," Levy laughed
"here's to a bright future," Lucy screamed
underneath them, Wendy entered a room where she saw Natsu sitting in front of a table, going over some notes. Happy was next to him, who looked bored out of his mind paper all over him making her laugh a bit. She smiled as he looked up, smiling at her back "oh hey Wendy," Natsu said, "you need something."
"Naw," Wendy said, "Mira told me to come, and I quote," she paused for dramatic effect, "get him from those damn notes that he's been looking at for the past hour," she said, trying to hide her laugh "then she went on a rant about Laxus and how unbelievable you are"
"That sounds like her," Natsu said
"From what I can gather, she's just concerned about you," Carla said, "you and Laxus don't have a pleasant history from what I remember."
"Yeah," Natsu shook those thoughts from his head. It was time to put those thoughts behind him.
"What are you reading anyway," Wendy said, getting next to him "lighting magic," she asked. "Oh, you're trying to master Lighting flame dragon mode," she asked, stars in her eyes.
"Yeah," Natsu replied as he sat the book he was reading down
"I'm surprised you just didn't ask him to train you personally," Wendy said
"I don't think we're at the point yet," Natsu said
"Right," Wendy said, looking away as she scooted closer, "man, it must be cool using two elements."
"It is taxing though," Natsu said, "and I get exhausted easily to"
"you'll get it, Natsu," Wendy said
"Aye," Happy said, finally coming out of his stupor, "if anyone can master two elements, it's our Natsu" Natsu laughed at his friend's antics.
"This all good, but come on," Wendy said, grabbing his arm, "the foods almost ready, and I'm hungry, and knowing Mira, she won't let me eat until I drag your sorry behind there."
"You have a fair point," Natsu said as the duo got up to get some food.
Above them, Mavis sat at the roof, the cool ocean breeze brushing past her. She could feel it even though they were miles away Tenrou Island was slowly growing in power again, and if she were lucky, there would be enough to get everyone back up to speed. She took in another breath. While this place was no magnolia, it still had nice air, though the kids' laughs inside were distracting.
'Primordial magic nearly in my grasp' Precht's voice filled her head, shaking the memory from her head. She let out a sigh, her hand going to her chest, the area where Hades had pierced her.
'My power is still weakened from taking on the form of the grand fairy,' Mavis said to herself. 'In any case, Natsu and the other can handle this; I'll just have to watch over them, leave the fighting to Natsu and Mira' she let out a pained breath. It would be a while before she was at full strength again.
"My children," Mavis whispered, "the fate of Magnolia rest on your shoulders" she smiled. She knew they could do it. No one had more faith in them than herself
it is now day two of fairy tails five-month training plan to prepare themselves for the grand magic games. Mavis smiled as she watched everyone participate in morning stretches. 'I don't know why,' Mavis said to herself, 'but there is something so satisfying about a choreographed exercise echoing in the morning' it made her smile 'it's just so militant.'
"Man, it's only been a day, and I feel stronger," Natsu said as he finished his stretches.
"We can't get lazy," Gray said as he stopped "we need to get in every lick of training we can."
"Gray's right," Wendy said, "but still you grew so much in one day," Wendy laughed. "In five months, you will be on track again, that's for sure."
Lucy sighed as she sat down "you know, at first I was like five months, that's not nearly enough time" she then shook her head. "but know I'm like Five months, I almost feel bad for them."
"you kids are just endless wells of potential," Mavis said, "training in this way will put you at your best, and I have no doubt you'll be able to catch up to everyone else."
"Yeah," Lucy said, sitting up before Virgo popped up from underneath the sand.
"Princess," Virgo screamed, "terrible news."
"How many times do I have to tell you not to do that" Lucy screamed
"Will you punish me now," Virgo asked
"No thanks," Happy said
"I will if you ask that again," Carla added.
"Hey, you know I've been wondering something, "Gray said as he walked up to where Virgo was "what happened to you and the other spirits while we were trapped on Tenrou Island."
"Oh crap," Lucy said, "I never even thought of that," Lucy said, "and I've just been summoning you guys as if nothing happened."
"Oh, I can't imagine how dreadfully board you must have been," Juvia said, tears in her eyes, "not to mention how worried you must have been since Lucy wasn't summoning you."
"Please don't cry," Virgo said. She seemed nervous
"Hey, is something wrong," Lucy asked
"Princess," Virgo said, taking a bow, "the celestial world is on the brink of destruction," Virgo told them.
"What," Lucy asked
"We need fairy tail's help right now," she begged
"If there anything we can do," Erza said
"I was tasked with taking you to the celestial spirit world at once," Virgo said "the king wants to explain the situation himself.
"Wait," Lucy asked, "I thought humans couldn't go to the celestial spirit world."
"Well, it is possible," Virgo said, "you just need to be wearing clothes of the celestial spirit world" Virgo smiled "we shall go right now," a bright light shined around them, taking everyone into the light leaving Mavis behind. She smiled as she shook her head.
"hey" Jet shouted
"We wanted to go too," Droy groaned out
"Be safe" was all Mavis said

the magic circle dropped the group into the celestial spirit, all in celestial spirit clothes as they took in the place they've only heard of from the spirits Lucy would summon. The place was beautiful. It looked like they were in space. A blue tent was in the sky. It seems to have several different planet-like orbs floating in the air, and the void appears to stretch on infinitely at first glance. Everyone was speechless at sight. It was indeed a breathtaking place, and they were moist as the first humans ever to see the celestial spirit world up close.
"We meet again," a voice called every turned to see the celestial spirit king appearing in front of them. "Lucy Heartfilia, I bid you welcome to our world."
"Celestial spirit king," Lucy said, walking forward, "is it true that your world is on the brink of destruction
the Celestial spirit king said nothing before a large grin appeared on his face "smile" was all he said, confusing everyone "it so good to see you again, my friend," he laughed "now is a chance for us to celebrate," he said as all the sprits Lucy had appeared around them
"what" was all Lucy had time to say before she was tackled by at least half of her spirits, "I thought your world was facing destruction."
"I lied," Virgo said
"of course, you did."
"Sorry for tricking you like that, Lucy," Taurus said, "but it was worth it to see your face and that rocking body."
"We were all overjoyed when you had returned," Capricorn said
"But we all couldn't manifest in the human world, so decided to bring you here," Lyra said, "and you should summon me more often."
"This a one-time thing, so don't get used to it," Aquarius said, "and finally wearing decent clothes, I see," she said, going up to Lucy.
"Oh, don't listen to her, Lucy," Scorpio said, "she was crying tears of joy when she found out you came back."
"I was not," Aquarius shouted.
"So, what do you say," Sagittarius asked, "will you guys' part with us."
everyone looked to Natsu and Mira "well," Natsu said
"I guess we could afford one day off," she said, "but no more," she said sternly as everyone cheered
"And one more thing," the celestial king said, "Capricorn has told me of your plight and how being sealed away affected your magic," he smiled, "which is why just this once I will allow you and your friends to train here."
"Train," everyone asked.
"Now is our chance to party," the king said, "so right now, let us enjoy Lucy and her friend's return, trust me when I say that you have all the time in the world."
"You know Lucy," Loke said, "you could jump into my arms" he smiled at her
"Oh you," Lucy said, blushing
"It been a while, Loke," Natsu said
"Yeah," he said, turning to see his old friend, "good to know you were able to get off of Tenrou Island in one piece; sorry I had to bail on you like that."
"Naw, your good," Natsu said
"Yeah," Gray said, "Lucy explained it to me; I'm just glad that you're okay."
"Same to you," Loke smiled.
"Hey Horologium," Wendy said, "I never got the chance to thank you for saving my life back then," Wendy said, "though I was a goner for sure back there."
"Oh, the pleasure is mine," Horologium told her, "And might I add, you have grown in such a lovely young lady."
"Aw, thanks," Wendy said, blushing.
"Hey, you're that wizard that joined with Lucy," Aquarius said
"What do you mean by that" Juvia asked
"You got a boyfriend," Aquarius asked
"Umm," Juvia shot a look at Gray, "no, not at the moment."
"Really," Aquarius asked, "a cutie like you, you better step up your game, or you'll end up like lucy."
"You have something to say," Lucy shouted as Aquarius laughed
"Wow, all these books," Levy said
"Leave it you to go to a new place and immediately find a book," Cana muttered.
"Take some as a souvenir," Crux said
"Really," Levy asked, stars in her eyes
"Celestial parties are manly," Elfman shouted
"You got the moves that for sure," Taurus said as he and Elfman had an arm-wrestling match, "but you aren't beating me. I'm top bovine in these parts."
"Oh, hey Plue," Happy said
"Sometimes I forget you're a celestial spirit," Carla admitted
"This food is so good," Natsu said
"So tasty," Mira agreed. "I have got to learn this recipe."
"that's a crab with stardust butter, babe," Cancer said
"as well as nice and juicy lamb steak drizzled with sauce," Aries said, much to the pair's shock
"This is our favorite," they said as they started eating as Natsu and Mira only looked at each other, feeling incredibly awkward
"This place is kinda strange, though," Gray said as a group of Nicholai came up to him
"Yeah," Lucy said, "I wonder where's my Plue."
"it's only natural," the king told them, "While we have had many human friends over the years, you are the first humans we have brought here."
Lucy smiled at this as Gray patted her on the head "nice, Lucy," he said, smiling, "don't let this go to your head."
"I won't," she told him
"Hey," Juvia screamed, "hands-off."
Lyra sat down as she started to play her harp and got ready to sing a new song she had written for the return of her friend.

Gajeel, Gray, and Cana danced around with Scorpio, Loke, and Cancer pride on their faces. Before turning around, Gray could have shown he felt a presence around him, as did Elfman. They looked around, but to them, it felt like someone was watching them and, at the moment, was with them

Your soul and mine share a bond made of love
Natsu and Wendy were seen laughing at Horologium's joke, enjoying this moment together. It felt as if they both were back home surrounded by their friends and just living life the way they chose to. They looked over to see Juvia and Aquarius talking along with Mira joining them as they started to tease Kinana, making the girl blush as they all laughed.
So as the skies turn grey and the clouds gather above
trying to fight back your tears, feeling so lost alone

I will guide you home
Erza smiled as she and Sagittarius started comparing weapons. Lucy smiled, tears forming in her eyes to think of her parents, father, everything that happened between them. if anything, she wished she could have one more chance with him to tell him how much she loved him.

"He knows Lucy," the king said, getting the girl's attention, making her look at him with tears in her eyes "believe me when I tell you he knew more than anyone," he gave her a big smile.
"How much you loved him," he told her. He smiled as Lucy smiled, looking at Lyra.
"That was beautiful, Lyra as always," she said
"You could hear these songs more often if you summoned me more," she shouted.
"Hey, I'm merely respecting my contract," Lucy said, "and who's idea was it only to let me summon you once a month."
"Mine," Lyra said
"Unbreaking, ruthless, she does listen to me," Aquarius said, "that's my girl."
"She has been trained well," Capricorn smiled "it's rude to go against one's contract; Lyra should be no better."
hours later, the king had gathered everyone smiling at them "as I said earlier, you and your friends are allowed to train here," he smiled "as you know, doubt have noticed time moves slower here in the celestial spirit world than in yours."
"Now that you mention it," Gray said
"It doesn't feel like we've been here for long," Cana added
"Yes," the king said, "time is compressed here" he smiled "for instance, while it may have only been a day here, it's only been about an hour in your world."
"An hour," everyone screamed.
"Yes," the celestial king said, "you plan on having five months of training. However, I can offer you something more as thanks for reuniting my Zodiac," he said, "I will allow you to train here for those five months, which in our time will equal you to five years of training."
"that's quite the offer," Wendy said
"Yeah," Natsu said, "but isn't it dangerous for humans to be in your world for long."
"Do not worry," the king said, "the garments you have received have been given special properties to allow you to train here if you wish."
"So, what do say," Capricorn said "while it may not be seven years, it will give you an edge" everyone looked at each other
"All right," everyone screamed
over the next five months or in the case of the celestial spirit world five years, Fairy tail would begin their grueling training under the watchful eye of the celestial spirit king, repeating many of the things they did on the first day while also increasing their magic power in the process in order to make up for the past seven years they spent dormant in the fairy sphere it was hard work, but each wizard managed to gain some new skill or increase in their magic power
"Thank you so much for this," Lucy said
"Any time," Loke said, "we know you will do your best and get Magnolia back right."
"Aye, sir"
"It was so nice to see your guy's home," Lucy said to Capricorn
"I, too, am glad that I was allowed to show it to you as well."
"Stay strong, girl," Aquarius said
"You too, Aquarius," Juvia said as Cana rolled her eyes
"Did you get the recipe for all the food they have us," Kinana asked
"Yes," Mira admittedly didn't want to take it. Cancer and Aries had been super excited, and well, she couldn't say no, so now she had a recipe that would knock the socks off of her friends 'yay me'
"If you are all ready," Virgo said, "I will return you to the human world."
"Until we meet again," the celestial king said, "may you have the best of luck" he smiled as a bright light shined around them as they found themselves at the beach, Mavis, in front of them meditating on a rock.
"Finally," Mavis said. As she looked at the group, she looked tired and defeated as if she had been fighting for years "you kids and I are all that's left," she said, "everyone and everything is gone now."
"what" everyone screamed as Mavis started laughing
"Man, you should see your faces right now, "Mavis laughed as she wiped away some tears from her eyes "totally worth it."
"Not funny, Mavis."

two hooded figures stood in the distance "it's really them," one said, "they're really alive." they seemed excited, almost eager to see the group known as fairy tail again, "truly amazing."
"Yes," the other said, "after Acnologia," the person stopped when a third hooded figure approached them. He looked at the distance, a smile coming over his face "do think they will help us," she asked, "even after all we have done to them," shaking their head. "I wouldn't be surprised if they told us to kick rocks."
"they'll help us," the person smiled as he took a glance at Erza, "cause that's the kind of people they are
