Hey fairy tail fans and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told, today's chapter is one that I've been waiting for since I've finished the Tenrou Island arc, and we all know what happens, so let's skip all the fluff and jokes and get right into the story for the day.
Fun fact: this is the longest chapter that I've written for this story, which is hilarious cause I wrote this chapter in the longest arc in fairy tail. If that changes, I'll update with another fun fact.

Erza: we still have time so let's get make sure we're as ready as can be
Natsu: ah yeah, we're all fired up now

"Elfman, honey," Mavis said as she looked at the man "what were you being feed," she asked as everyone around her finally took in the man next to him. They finally noticed that his hair and sideburns grew longer, but he has also grown much more muscular physically.
"I had a training for a real man," he screamed.
"Elfman spent most of his time training with Taurus," Lucy said. "I guess it paid off."
"that's an understatement," Cana said, "he's huge."
"Yeah, I feel great," Natsu said, "for once, going forward in time was a good thing."
Wendy let out a massive breath of air as she did several poses "oh yes, our time was very enlightening," she whispered her Natsu and Gajeel did their training with Loke. He was the leader of the Zodiacs for a reason. Erza occasionally would join them as well, and like Wendy, she seemed to have reached a new level of danger. It was a little scary.
"Juvia feels like she can take on the world," Juvia screamed. She had trained with Aquarius, make of that what you will
"Man, Crux gave me a bunch of books," Levy said, star in her eyes. "I must read them all."
"Well, I'm glad you kids had your fun," Mavis said, "but we should stop by Porlyusica to make sure there are no lasting side effects from your stay in the celestial spirit world."
"Aye ma'am"
Enter: Crime Sorcière
In Margert Town lies one of the strongest guilds in Fiore, Lamia scale the guildhall wearing a dark banner adorned by Lamia Scale's symbol, with a statue representing a lamia, the source of the guild's name, a creature with the upper body of an alluring, bikini-clad young woman, and a sizeable serpentine tail in place of her legs, sitting outside on a rocky formation by the entrance. "you brats" a voice called "you have no shame" this lovely young woman is the current master of Lamia scale her name is Ooba Babasaama "why else would be content with the second place every year" she screamed.
"There she goes," Yuka said, "not a day can go by without her going crazy."
"Shut it, ya old hag," Toby said
"This year, Lyon, Jura, I want you two in the games," Ooba shouted
"If you say so," Lyon said, "if the hag says jump, we jump" he laughed
"Besides," Jura says, "this gives us an opportunity," he said, looking at Lyon "as you know, fairy tail has returned" Lyon smiled at this
"If Lyon and Jura are going in," a guild member said, "victory is ours for sure."
"What do you say we get the gang together then," Lyon said. He had to admit the thought of facing off against Gray again was exciting.
"That the spirit," Ooba said
"Time, we teach them why Lamia scale is one of the big three."
In the blue Pegasus guild, their master Bob smiled as Ichiya placed a drink in front of him "so the rumors are true fairy tail plans on entering the grand magic games."
"Yes," Ichiya told him, "And I also hear that Lamia scale is sending in Jura."
"Ah, that old hag has a way of throwing a wrench in our plans," Bob muttered, "maybe it's time we throw in our wrench as well."
"Man," Ichiya said, "we will show the games a good perfume," he laughed "gather the trimens," Ichiya called, "tell them to get ready."
"MAAAAAAAAN!"
At the Sabertooth guild entrance, we find Sting and Rogue "really, Lector," Sting asked, "the rumors are true Fairy tail is back."
"Yeah," Lector said, "we have confirmed sightings and everything."
"Frosh heard so too."
"This is perfect," Sting said, "man, now's my chance."
"I don't see why," Rogue said, "We already have Magnolia. it only a matter of time before master forces them to join us." he looked away, "not like they'll stand a chance anyway."
"Such a bummer," Sting laughed at his friend 'just you wait, Natsu, soon I will defeat you.'
In another location, the guild housing Mermaid heel their master stares out of the window as someone walks up to her "so is it that time."
"Yes," she said
"We must exercise caution," she said. "Sabertooth is gearing up for something big; I can feel it" she looked down; the woman looked up, " gather your team. You will be entering the games this year."
"As you wish, master."
"So, we have another three weeks until the games," Cana asked, "so you guys still have time to train up."
"Yes," Erza said, "while we may have gained back five years of training, the other guilds will still have two years on us," Erza said, "not to mention easier access to magic power."
"Right," Gray said, "so let get to work then" he was about to move when a bird landed on top of Erza's head, shocking everyone.
"What's that" Natsu said
"a note," Lucy asked
"Read it," Gray said as Happy grabbed it
"Hey fairy tail, you better come to the broken bridge," Happy said as dramatically as he could
"it's a trap," Natsu said
"defiantly a trap," Mira told him in agreement
"So, a trap," Wendy added
"Why are you three so negative," Kinana asked
"You know how many people want to kill us, Kinana," Wendy asked the girl
"Fair point," Kinana said
"You know, hanging with you guys might be bad for my health," Levy muttered.
"don't worry, Levy," Jet and Droy noted, "we will protect you."
"I feel safer already," Levy muttered.
"We should go," Erza said. "I can't explain why, but I have a feeling about this" she couldn't explain, but something about this note was calling out to her, and she would see it through "besides, if it is a trap, we can see it through, as we've proven repeatedly, we can handle anything if we stand together.
"I agree with Erza," Gajeel said as Lily nodded with him
"You would say that," Carla said
"I'm with Natsu and Mira," Lucy said, "this has trap written all over it."
"you'll just have to see," Mavis said, "you kids go on ahead, Levy, Jet, Droy, Cana, Elfman, Kinana, and I will stay here in case you need backup."
"Aye ma'am"
the group soon found themselves at a small river with a broken bridge "this must be the place," Erza said
"Did they runoff," Mira asked
"Might have been a prank," Gray added
"Well, now that we have that settled, let's get back to the beach," she said, glad that for once it wasn't someone trying to kill them, only for the ground to start shaking as the bridge began to reconnect itself slowly restoring itself "umm do bridges normally do that."
"No," Mira said, "I still think it's a trap."
"Aye," Happy added
"Damn it," Gajeel said, "and here I was hoping to get in a good fight."
"Give me an hour, and we can fight all you want," Wendy said
"what's with you two and fighting," Juvia asked
"even more now," Natsu said, "I think Wendy found her fighting spirit over the past seven years."
"Whoever is behind this is on the other side," Erza said
"Well, good luck, Natsu," Mira said as she pushed Natsu forward
"Wait, what" Natsu screamed
"Hey, you're our chosen son, so you gotta make sure it's safe," Gray called, a teasing grin on his face.
"Screw you guys," Natsu screamed as he made got across the bridge
"And here I thought it would fall apart," Lucy muttered
"We were all thinking that," Wendy added
"All right," Mira said, "whoever this is put lots of thought into this, so we need to stay on our guard."
"Yes, ma'am," as they crossed the bridge walking through the woods, "you guys think it's a friend," Lucy asked as they walked. "I'm hoping it's a friend."
"Why would a friend go through all this trouble," Gray asked her
"that's fair," Lucy said as Natsu, Mira, and Erza stopped. "What's wrong," she asked as she looked up to see three hooded figures standing in front of them "oh," Lucy said
"Who are you," Erza asked
"That scent," Natsu muttered
"Yeah," Wendy said
[## Ultear the witch ##]
"it's good to see you all again," the man at the front said as the trio removed their hoods as. Everyone backed up in shock as the person in front was revealed to be Jellal while he had hardly changed over the past seven years save for his now longer, scragglier hair; his attire currently consists of a dark coat, very similar to the one he stole from the Erigor during the Nirvana incident, only with a heart like designs running down the sleeves and sides of the coat. Beneath this, he was wearing plate armor, which covers his abdomen, and dark pants.
"you guys haven't changed one bit," the other said, revealing herself to be Ultear. She no longer uses lipstick. Her outfit now consists of little more than a tabard-like garment that exposes her back. The attire is open on both sides of her body except for a small attachment at her waist, and she dons long black boots that leave her upper thighs bare. "Nice to know that time has let your story continue."
"Told them you guys wouldn't be killed that easy" the last one was Meredy; she had grown older and taller. Her hair reaches down to the middle of her back in a pretty wavy ponytail and is accompanied by a dark brown set of earmuffs. Her outfit consists of a red dress with a golden trim around a plunging neckline that exposes her cleavage with a short skirt and a belt with a yellow ribbon tied around her waist and black colored stockings, and brown boots next to her was a small exceed.
She was a small Exceed with pink fur and black stripes, pink ears, and blue eyes; she also had two whiskers on each side of her face. Her outfit is a smaller and simplified version of what she wears as a human, where the ribbons are tied at the sides of her gold headdress. "Nice to meet all of you," she said, "my name is Rosello."
"I take it word reached you about my prison break," Jellal asked "believe me when I tell you that I had no intention of leaving that place" he looked away, a frown on his face.
"We didn't give him much choice," Ultear said
"I dragged him out," Meredy said laughing "it was funny; you should have seen it." she noticed the nervous look that Juvia had given her before hiding behind Gray, which made her look away. "Nice to see you, Juvia."
'she's changed,' Juvia thought to herself. 'I can see it in her eyes
"Jellal broke out," Lucy asked.
"Chill out," Gray said, "they're not our enemies," he smiled before turning back to Ultear "right."
"Yes," Ultear noted, "while we may have committed many sins while under Grimoire heart, we have left that life behind us" she smiled "now I have dedicated myself to atone for all the sins I have caused, I know that I can never do that" Ultear admitted, "so I will live this life till the day I die."
"You risked so much," Wendy said, "breaking him out of prison."
"Cause Jellal is one of those people," Ultear admitted, "I am the reason he has walked down this path."
"No Ultear," Jellal said, "we were both used and manipulated."
"Your memory has returned," Erza asked.
"Every bit of it," Jellal admitted, "for the past six years, since I've been traveling with them, I've had to live with the guilt." he then looked at Erza. "Erza, I'm genuinely sorry." Jellal choked on his words the thoughts of things he did to Erza, "I truly regret everything that I put you and your friends through"
"I was the one controlling Jellal during the tower of heaven," Ultear said, "please don't blame him, for it wasn't his fault."
"I could either spend the rest of my life in prison or be executed," Jellal said
"But now that you're free," Wendy started, "you can find a new purpose."
"Wendy," Jellal said, finally recognizing the girl, she had grown taller, if it wasn't for her voice he probably wouldn't have known it was her, "there is no easy way to tell you this, but the Jellal you knew is a completely different person."
"Oh yeah," Wendy said, "We figured that out a while back," she admitted as she got a confused look from the three wizards "long story."
"We have found purpose, though," Jellal said, "though I wouldn't call it positive."

"We have formed a team of sorts," Ultear explained "similarly to your fairy tail, we are no longer aligned with anyone light or dark," she smiled "we are completely independent, simply known as Crime Sorcière," Ultear told them.
"I've heard of you," Wendy said, "rumors of a wizard team that has been tracking down dark guilds."
"Yep, sis," Meredy said, giving a wink, "that be us."
"But our one true goal continues to allude us," Ultear said
"Zeref," Jellal said, shocking everyone, "we plan to make sure no one can be consumed by his darkness again."
"With all the good you're doing," Gray said, "I'm surprised you guys are still in shadows."
"Well, I am a convict," Jella joked.
"Not to mention me and Ultear are former members of Grimoire heart," Meredy laughed.
"we'll leave the official stuff to fairy tail," Jellal told them. "We are far more useful lying in the shadows as we are now."
"You say that like the council doesn't have it out for us at all," Wendy said
"True," Jellal laughed.
"As much as we would enjoy catching up with all of you," Ultear said, "we have a favor to ask," she looked away, "we heard a rumor that you would be entering the grand magic games."
"Yeah," Natsu said
"We can't get near the coliseum," Ultear said, "not without trouble. Every year, we sense unusual magic coming from the games," she explained, "We were hoping that since you'll be the closest, you can take a look for us."
"But the games have wizards from all over," Mira said, "how can, you be sure."
"We sense the magic energy of Zeref," Ultear said, "having been in his presence before, we have a knack for feeling something like it."
"It cold," Meredy admitted, "like standing next to master Hades."
"This job will require discretion," Jellal told them. "We don't want, whoever, this is to know we're on to them."
"And like any other job, we'll be providing compensation," Ultear admitted. Everyone looked to Natsu and Mira, who had since gone silent. They both nodded "we'll do it."
"You guys sure," Gray asked.
"Tons of wizards are going to be gathering for the games," Mira said "it could spell trouble for us too," Mira said, "besides, we help our friends out. That's our creed."
"We also plan on paying upfront," Ultear said
"food" Natsu and Wendy cried
"Forget that our rent," Lucy screamed at the pair
"Oh, nothing so material," Ultear said "over the years, I have all but perfected my arc of time magic," she explained "we wizards possess a local container that allows us to use our magic. It also determines the amount of magic power a wizard has access to" she smiled as she moved her orb again "over time the container slowly absorbs Ethernano all on its own until its full. but recent research has revealed that wizards possess a hidden trove of magic," Ultear said, "they have come to call it a second origin," she smiled "overtime wizards slowly crack at the power until it's completely removed, giving them greater reserves of magic."
"Wow," Lucy said
"Not only can I use my arc of time to make your container grow, but I can also grant you access to your second origin," she smiled. "you'll be able to use your more powerful magic."
"That sounds awesome," Lucy said
"We can fully catch up," Gray added
"But first," Ultear looked at Natsu, "Salam-" she stopped when she caught a glare from Meredy. "Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel," she said. There's something I need to confirm when it comes to unlocking your second origin."
Hours later, the group returned to the beach and caught Mavis and the other up to the situation as Ultear looked over Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel. Mavis thought everything over as she stroked her chin "so that's the full story, master," Mira finished. "I want to take them at their word."
"Yes," Mavis said, "we'll do what we can to help," she told Mira
"I can't thank you enough," Jellal said
"Juvia," Meredy said, approaching the girl
"Yes," Juvia asked
"I owe you an apology," Meredy said. "I know I can never make up for what I did," she admitted she wasn't, lying when the thought of their fight haunted her for the past seven years. It was one of the many things that kept her up at night, "and I don't expect your forgiveness, but you deserve to know that," she stopped. "I truly am sorry."
"you're so different now," Juvia whispered, getting her attention. "I can see it your eyes," she smiled at her "last time we met, all I saw was anger, hatred, and loneliness" Juvia smiled as she placed a hand on her shoulder "you smile much more often now, and I can tell how happy you are" Juvia shook her head "you're not the only one has done terrible things and your right it's hard to forgive others, but what it's important that we move forward," she said "my past is dirty as well," she said as she remembered her time in Phantom Lord the things that Master Jose would have her do and how she would justify them."
"In all fairness," Meredy laughed, "I'm pretty sure my past is dirtier than yours."
"it's so nice to meet you finally," Rosello said. "I've never met another cat before."
"Technically, we're called exceed," Happy told her. "the Queen Shagotte sent us here thirteen years ago."
"Really," Rosello asked
"it's a long story," Lily told her
"Meredy, could you come here" Ultear voice came over. as everyone looked to where Ultear was with Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel, the was red lines all over them, but they seemed unharmed
"Everything okay with my kids," Mavis asked.
"their magic power is fine," Ultear admitted "in fact, that training in the celestial spirits world seems to have helped in more ways than I could have," she said, "but there lies a problem" the red lines then appeared on Meredy Ultear let out a sigh as she looked at everyone "just as I thought" she whispered "as I told you all earlier a wizard has a second reservoir of magic they can access"
"Yeah," Gray said, "you told us you can speed up the process, right."
Ultear nodded "slayers naturally have a larger reservoir of magic than other wizards," Ultear said "however, Natsu, Wendy, Gajeel, and Meredy seem to be different," she explained, "over time, wizards can slowly crack away at it," she said, "the process varies depending on the wizard, however," Ultear said "they haven't even scratched it"
"What does that mean," Kinana asked
"Take yourself, for example," Ultear said. "I'm told you're a devil slayer, correct" the girl nodded "a quick look at you," she said as red lines appeared on Kinana, and you are damaged. "There are cracks in its shell, so to say"
"Then why are they different," Levy asked.
"that's where I'm stumped," Ultear said "it doesn't make sense," she said, "as powerful as they are, I would imagine that they would have already unlocked their second origin." she smiled. "I knew it."
"What did you find," Natsu asked.
"This," she said as four magic circles appeared behind her. "It would appear that you all have a magic seal placed on you."
"that's inside of you," Mira asked
"How long has that been there," Mavis asked
"I have no clue," Ultear told her. "At first, I thought it was Hades doing," Ultear said, as she looked at Meredy "he always seemed to take extra care when it came to her and Zancrow's magic" she shook her head, "but seeing as they each have one."
"Who could have put that there," Elfman asked, "and what could it be sealing away."
"My best guess," Ultear said, "is that's it's protecting them from accessing more of their magic power." Ultear smiled as a smug look grew on her face "and fortunately, thanks to all the studying I've been doing on the one in Meredy, I think I can remove them," she said confidently, shocking everyone
"Woah," Lucy said, "you are terrific."
"You can say that again," Gray said
"If you want, we can get started now," Ultear said, "it might take a while. but the results would be worth it" she'd be a liar if she wasn't the least bit excited of seeing a dragon slayer at full power.
"Yeah, no thanks," Natsu said, which made Ultear deflate a bit
"I appreciate the offer," Wendy said. " but I'm fine."
"As tempting as it sounds," Gajeel started, "I'll pass."
"that's very nice of you, Ultear," Meredy started, "but I want this seal to stay right where it is."
"What why," Mira asked
"There is only one other person I know that could have put this seal on me," Natsu said as the others nodded in agreement as solum looks grew on their faces.
"Igneel"
"Metalicanna"
"Grandeeney"
"Hyōka"
the air went silent as the four said nothing "when I fought Zero," Natsu started, "and I went dragon force. He told me something that my transformation to dragon force was incomplete," Natsu admitted
"And when I went dragon force in the infinity castle," Wendy said, "I felt odd like my power was trying to grow, I was barely able to contain it all," she whispered the last part "our dragons had to have been the ones to put these seals on our magic power."
"And I don't want to find out what will happen if we remove em," Gajeel said
"We can ask them when we find them," Meredy said, "that's how I feel anyway."
"I understand," Ultear said as she turned to the others, "the rest of you; however, I can assist you by unlocking your second origin if that is your choice."
"right"
moments later, Lucy was on the ground in pain as gray stood over her "hey, you can do this, Lucy," Gray said as the girl jumped around the red lines on her body had started glowing "are you sure there is no way to do this without pain."
"No," Ultear said, "you have to bear this pain Lucy," Ultear said
"What did we agree to" Gray asked
"If you want," Meredy said, "I can sense link you guys, and you can find out."
"What," Gray said, "are you crazy."
"yes"
'She even has a sense of humor now," Juvia thought 'she has grown.'
"Umm," Levy muttered as she and Cana hugged each other, "you know I might sit this one out."
"I won't," Elfman said. "I'm a real man," he screamed
"where's Erza" Carla asked
"She and Jellal went to get some alone time," Happy told her
"Really," Juvia said "why don't we get in some extra practice to my love," Juvia said as she started to drag Gray off
"you're not fooling me," he muttered

"So," Erza asked. She and Jellal were sitting near a cliff a distance away from their friends "you remember everything," she asked, "even what happened to Simone," she asked.
"Yes," Jellal said, "everything," he said, "he dies by hands in the tower of heaven."
"And the Nirvana incident," Erza asked.
"I remember being in a fog," he said, "it's an odd feeling."
"Is it safe to say the Jellal I knew as a child is back," Erza asked? He could hear the hope in her voice, but Jellal couldn't do that to her not anymore.
"I wish I could tell you that," Jella said, "but I still have to wear the weight of all the sins that I've caused."
"Jellal"
"I won't blame you if you want to seek your vengeance," Jellal said. "I won't try to stop you."
"You really believe that Simone would want you to die," Erza said
"My life was forfeit long ago," Jella said
"What about your new purpose" Erza "why can't that be your atonement."
"at first," Jellal started, "I thought it would bring me peace, but the more I go on, the more I don't think it can," he said, much to Erza's shock, "the things I did in the tower of heaven haunt me," he choked on his words the mere mention of that place made him fearful "I feel so lost perhaps it's best that I did die," he said before receiving a good slap form Erza he looked at her seeing the tears in her eyes.
"So, you'd be satisfied with the coward's way out!" she screamed "that not the old Jellal I know. He wouldn't let that stop him," she cried.
"Then perhaps he is dead," he screamed as Erza picked him up
"Snap out of it," she called, pushing him forward as they stumbled over the ground. He ended up on top of her, a smile coming across his face as he looked at her
"You always know what to say," he whispered, "don't you," he said
"not really," Erza laughed "honestly, I'm just stumbling through life," she laughed as a set, and Jella started to get closer "every day, I expect it to be my last," she said as they neared each other to the point where they could feel each other's breath, "I thought I'd never see you again" she whispered only for Jellal to push her away at the last second
"Sorry," Jellal said, trying to hide his embarrassment, "I have a fiancée."
"what" Erza screamed, backing up "sorry, I didn't mean to," she fumbled over her words. "I mean, I didn't."
"No, I should have," he stopped "sorry."
"So," Erza said, "fiancée congratulations," she said, "that's great" she feigned a smile as the embarrassment started to wear off. seeing the sorrowful look in Jellals eyes, "do you love her," she asked
"Yes," Jellal said
"Then live," Erza said, "for her sake."
"I can do that."

Natsu and Meredy sat on another part of the beach like Erza and Jellal. They had gone off with the other dragon slayers to talk about things until Wendy, along with Gajeel, said they would go back to get them some food leaving the pair alone. They have been sitting in silence merely watching the sunset, and the four exceed got to know each other "so how have ya been" Natsu asked as he watched the other exceed play with each other.
"Fine," Meredy said "honestly, I feel better than I did seven years ago," she told him, "You."
"Still adjusting," Natsu said, "spent seven years trapped on Tenrou Island."
"I heard," Meredy said. "I know I've been feigning a smile," Meredy started, "but there are times when I just feel."
"Horrible," Natsu said "yeah, I know," he said
"right," Meredy said, "does it ever ya know, go away," she asked, "like will I ever be able to look myself in the mirror again." she frowned at the thought, "will ever be able to look at myself without seeing the monster that I've become" the last part came out as a whisper so quiet Natsu almost didn't hear it.
"Yeah," Natsu said "you know when I" Natsu stopped a part of him didn't want to tell her this he hadn't even told his friends this, but he had to remove that gap "when I betrayed Mavis and Mira," he said looking at the calming sunset "I believed that"
"you believed that they didn't love you," Meredy said, "that the only person who truly loved you was gone, and that to find them you needed power, and strength" she whispered, "and that they thought you were a monster."
"you seem educated," Natsu muttered.
"who said I was talking about you" Meredy replied before both started laughing, the sounds of laughter filling the air. "You know it's funny," Meredy began to, "for so long, I spent my life believing that everything I did in the name of Grimoire heart would lead to a better world. " she said, wiping away a tear "instead, I was just a crazed zealot believing in fiction" she looked at the sand "I would have rather been a puppet."
"you'll get there," Natsu told her. "So, how did you meet Rosello," he asked, wanting to change the subject from her troubled past.
"a dark guild had kidnapped her," Meredy explained "after rescuing her, she asked if she could come with me" Meredy smiled "how could I say no" she smiled, "and ever since then, she's been the thing that's kept me grounded, the light in the sea of darkness that is my life."
"I'm happy for you," Natsu said "really, I am" he looked at the setting sun. "if you want the truth, I don't know where I'd be if I didn't have my friends to keep me going" he smiled "they're the ones that get me up in the morning" he couldn't help but see her smile "you know," he said, "you should do that more often."
"shut up," Meredy said, "and I think I get what you're saying" she looked at him, "you don't have to."
"you're a dragon slayer, aren't you" he placed a hand on her shoulder "we're sworn siblings, practically family, me, Wendy, hell even Gajeel, we'll be there for you "he gave her a nod as she wiped a tear from her face "If you ever need anything."
"I know, thank you," Meredy turned to face him, "and same to you," she said as Gajeel and Wendy appeared.
"We got rice balls," Wendy said happily as she handed Natsu and Meredy the food as their exceed friend ran up to them.
"Fish," Happy said as she grabbed "thanks, Wendy."
"Kiwis for me," Lily said, "as always, they are amazing."
"Just tea" Carla smiled.
"Rice balls," Rosello cheered; everyone laughed at their felines friend's antics,
"you guys think they're still out there," Meredy asked.
"I don't know," Gajeel said as he munched on his rice ball, "but what I do know is if I see that jerk again, Ima punch him in the face." this got a laugh from everyone. "Then be all, hey, it's not my fault you can't follow directions. I told you to stay there, and what happened"
"I can hear her know," Wendy started. "I told you to stay put, young lady," Wendy said, trying to mimic the way Grandineey would talk.
"Igneel is just going to call me a pest," Natsu said, laughing "then be all your too reckless for your good," Natsu said in a gruff voice. "I swear it's a miracle that you're not dead."
"She is just going to look at me," Meredy started, "with those red eyes that I could never read" Meredy started laughing, "then she's just going to sigh and say, you're lucky you are so cute; otherwise, you'd be in more trouble than you are, young one" their laughter soon filled the air. as they slowly started to tell each other stories of their time with their dragons
"Hey," Natsu said, "I didn't want to say this in front of everybody," he asked, "but sometimes I have this dream," he started as everyone stopped "there's this woman she is wearing this black hood, but I can never see her face. "
"Yeah," Gajeel said, "once or twice," he said, "she always says keep pushing," he started, "or something like that" Wendy nodded to this.
"I've had that dream," Meredy said, "but in mine," she said, "the women would always tell me to run," she said as she patted Rosello on the head, "then after I left Grimore heart when I had it again she told me" Meredy stopped "I still love you" she smiled at the thought "honestly it the one thing that's kept me going these past seven years."
"Same," Wendy said, "while she didn't tell me that, she would just say," Wendy stopped looking at Carla." she just told me to have hope; you'll see them again."
"Maybe it's a warning." Carla said, "or a vision of your past" Carla said, "you could be experiencing a memory from when you were younger."
"That makes sense," Rosello said
"Aye"
"Well, whatever it means," Wendy said, lying down, "it might be a clue."
"Doubt it," Gajeel said
"eh well see them," Natsu said
"Then we punch them in the face," Gajeel screamed as everyone else deadpanned
"You do that," Natsu said, "but I ain't making that mistake again."
"Again," Wendy laughed, "why am I not surprised" she laughed
"He started it okay," Natsu said as their laughter filled the air one more time
'I'm so glad the four of you found each other.' a voice called in their heads, making them stop as they all stood up, looking around
"you guys heard that," Natsu asked
"Yeah," Wendy muttered
"Who was it," Gajeel said
"Mother," Meredy asked, "no, not her voice," she said, "but it sounds so."
familiar," everyone said as the wind blew in their faces as they started at the setting sun. It seemed with each passing moment. They would get more questions than answers when it came to the disappearance of their dragons just once they wanted an answer.
"They're still out there," Natsu said as everyone nodded, "and so is him."
"Yeah," Wendy already knew what Natsu was talking about. "And when everything happens, we'll be there for each other"
screams of pain came from the house the others were staying at as Ultear's magic took effect on them; Gajeel and Wendy did their best to make sure they were comfortable as Mavis tried to get them some blankets. However, everyone kept moving outside; Natsu, Mira, and Erza stood outside bidding their friends Farwell ."I wish we could stay," Jellal said, "but we need to stay on the move."
"It looks like Ultear's magic has incapacitated the others," Erza muttered
"And I thought I had a scream," Mira muttered
"How are you two not affected," Ultear asked. as Natsu let out a small laugh
"If you need anything, be sure to send us a message by carrier pigeon," Meredy said before giving a wink, "and we'll be rooting for you guys during the games," she said
"We could wear disguises," Ultear said, "that way we can be in the crowds."
"No," was all Jellal said as he turned to leave, "Goodluck Erza, Natsu, Mira, I know you can do it."
"See ya, bro," Meredy said as she got a look from Jellal "it's a dragon slayer thing."
"Later, Happy," Rosello said
"Give the others our best, " Ultear said, "and as for Gray," she smiled, "watch after him for me, okay" she smiled as she left, leaving Natsu Mira and Erza to tend to their friends.
the group soon found themselves in a cave "this power has me worried," Jellal said "if it's as dangerous as it seems, it could mean trouble for our friends," he started
"Having seen what their cable off firsthand," Ultear started remembering her numerous encounters with the group of wizards, "I think they'll find a way," she said, "and we'll be there to bail them out if things get too heated."
"Yep," Meredy said as she and Rosello ate some food, "speaking of which Jellal, where's this fiancée of yours, and when do we get to meet her," she asked while trying to hide her laugh
"you heard that," Jella asked, his cheeks turning a bright red.
"I'm a dragon slayer," Meredy shot back "we hear everything," she laughed "it's a blessing and a curse."
"You know you could loosen up every once and a while," Ultear told him
"I've knocked out teeth looser than you," Meredy added
"Scared," Ultear asked, "or are you punishing yourself."

"Have you forgotten?" Jellal said, "punishment is what we're all about" he looked at the flames, "the three of us have made a pack to never fall in love with those that have chosen to walk the light."
"Come on," Meredy said, "you can come up with a better lie than that," Meredy said, "take it from me, trying to place yourself in isolation is a fate worse than death in my opinion" she smiled, thinking of her time spent with her fellow dragon slayers how they promised that no matter what they would be there for each other even if she didn't deserve it "no matter who you are we all deserve someone to lean on."
"He's just trying to impress her," Ultear teased "he probably thought that he sounded so cool."
"even so," Meredy said as she ruffled Rosello's head as the feline purred, "sometimes to hold on, you need something to anchor you," she smiled, "to make sure the light inside stays."
"You're spending too much time with Natsu," Jellal muttered
"What can I say," Meredy said, "we have similar world views."
"What does that entail," Ultear said
"Yes, Meredy," Jella said, glad to get the topic off of him, "what does it entail."
"Eh," she shrugged, "it's a dragon slayer thing."
"What was that about me trying to sound cool," Jellal asked
"Cause you try," Meredy started. "I am"
"Yeah," Jellal smiled, "you might have a point
Natsu, Mira, and Erza walked along the beach, the cool air in their face and the sound of their friends screaming from the house, "you know what he told you was a bunch of horse shit, right" Natsu asked.
"Yeah," Erza admitted, "he's always been a terrible liar," she said, "the Jellal I knew is back."
"Okay, I need context like right now," Mira muttered,
"I could say the same about you and Meredy," Erza said "it's nice to see you are opening up to people, Natsu, and I'm glad that you're helping her"
"don't go there," Natsu said "we're both dragon slayers," he told her, "So we have to help each other, ya know."
"Like seriously," Mira said, "you two better give me some context right now before I make stuff up, and neither of you is going to like it," she screamed as Natsu and Erza started to leave.
"Come on, let's get back," Natsu said
"Yes," Erza said, "we need to help the others."
"Okay, now you two are doing this on purpose," Mira said, "and it's not funny," Mira screamed as they walked back into the house as Mira continued asking what the pair was talking about

this was a long one, but there was a lot that I wanted to put in this chapter, from Erza and Jellal to the dragon slayers' whole relationships. I'm still on the fence so tell me what you think I should do about that. I would love to hear your suggestions, in any case, see you next time
