Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told; the battle between dragon slayers is about to reach its stunning conclusion as Natsu and Gajeel have revealed some tricks of their own. Will our heroes be able to overcome the dragon slayers of Sabertooth, or have Natsu and Gajeel been outdone by the newer generation of dragon slayers? find out now on a fairy tail re-told
Fun fact: this chapter is based on the last episode where A-1 Pictures, Satelight, did the animation for fairy tail; I have mixed feelings about the changes in regards to animation art styles and all that.
"Hello, Natsu," Mavis said, walking up to the dragon slayer "how is your secret training going," Mavis asked in a teasing voice. The dragon-slayers had all left to go on some top-secret training for the extra week they had for the grand magic games. Even Meredy had joined them, so she was expecting to see a ton of destruction, but surprisingly the forest was still intact "what did you need."
"Oh master," Natsu said, "you know that seal thing I have right," he said to which Mavis nodded.
"Yes, don't tell me you're going to remove it," she asked
"No," Natsu said, "but in the case that I come across a strong opponent."
"It would be helpful to access your power," Mavis said, "even if temporarily," she said
"And you remember what I told you," Natsu said, "about what happened at Nirvana and the tower of heaven."
"Fine," Mavis said. "I will see if I can loosen the seal," Mavis said, "then I will teach you how I did it; that a deal."
"You bet, master."
For my home, and for my friends
"When could they do that" Ultear shouted, "I thought you needed a large boost of magic power to enter dragon force," she called as Meredy finished laughing "why are you still laughing," she screamed at the girl who waved her hand
"I don't think Meredy has laughed this much in a while," Rosello muttered, "and I can make her laugh."
"Calm down, Ur," Meredy said "you see, while we didn't remove the seals that prevent us from going all out," she turned to face her friend," we found a way around it," she said
"You did," Ultear said. "I must admit I'm impressed," Ultear said with a sly grin on her face.
"What are you trying to say."
"Wait, so did they remove the seals," Mira asked, "master, I thought that was dangerous."
"They didn't remove them per se," Mavis told her. "As you know, Natsu Wendy and Gajeel were unable to access their second origins due to the seals they have," she explained, to which everyone nodded.
"You mentioned it," Makarov said
"Not to me," Cosmos shouted
"Later, Natsu and I found a way to loosen the seal, allowing them to enter this state at will," Mavis explained, "however, from what he's told me, it's an incomplete version."
"An incomplete version," Mira asked.
"Yes," Mavis, "the seals prevent them from taking on the full transformation, and over time it will slowly close," Mavis said, "and they won't be able to be reopened for several days" she looked back, seeing the worried looks on all their faces "don't worry," Mavis said, "they have more than enough time end this fight."
"Why didn't they do that from the start" Gray shouted
"It might take them a while to be able to activate it," Laxus reasoned
"Yes," Erza said, "they probably had to gather their magic to force a transformation," Erza reasoned
"So, they can enter the dragon force as well," Minerva thought to herself 'this battle will be interesting, but they are still gravely outmatched."
"So, you ready to get this fight really started," Natsu asked as everyone in the crowd cheered as the two teams got ready to fight again above them. The hooded figure frowned as Obra whispered something in her ear.
"I see," she said, "very clever boys," she let out a laugh, "figures he would be the one to come up with a plan like that," she said, "of course, you always have been that way, haven't you, Natsu."
"You think just because you can use dragon force now that you stand a chance," Sting shouted as he and Rogue entered their dragon force again as he and Natsu clashed "nothing in the world is stronger than a dragon, and we both have their power" he screamed "you must think your so cute hiding power like that.
"we're downright adorable," Natsu and Gajeel shouted back
"your first-gen dragon force is nothing," Sting screamed in anger.
"You still got a long way to go, kid," Natsu said
In the infirmary, Lucy looked up "listen," Lucy whispered
"Sounds like the crowd is getting worked up," Evergreen said
"that's because my brother kicking butt, manly style," Elfman said
"I know you're interested in these fights," Porlyusica said, "but your main focus should be recovery." she turned to face the injury wizards "try to regain the power that you lost," she said
"Yeah, but" Lucy started.
"Look, I know you're worried about Natsu," Wendy said, "but don't worry, he'll be fine."
"Yes," Carla added, "he and Gajeel both, in fact, if we were to look up tough in the dictionary, we'd probably find a picture of them right next to it."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Lucy said
"of course, she is," Evergreen said
"Nice one Carla," Elfman said, "you're the man."
"As a proud woman, I highly resent that," Carla screamed as everyone laughed.
"Oh, these kids," Porlyusica laughed as she let a rare smile come to her face.

"I have the power," Sting shouted, "it's how I killed Weisslogia," he screamed, "the strongest White dragon ever to exist," he yelled, "and yet you couldn't even slay a dragon," he shouted, "I have real power."
"Real power, huh" Natsu shouted as he started to increase his power "you're right, I'm super weak," Natsu admitted, "but I'll fight anyone to protect my friends," he shouted, overpowering Sting, sending him into the wall. behind him, Gajeel smiled as Rogue got behind them. "I don't care how strong they are, but it will be known that I stood up to them."
"Woah, lookout" Jet shouted
"Behind you, Gajeel," Levy shouted
"{shadow dragon: roar}" Rogue shouted
"{Iron dragon: roar}" Gajeel shouted as his breath attack overpowered his sending him into the wall "you handle Sting," Gajeel said as he and Natsu stood back-to-back. "I'll handle Rogue."
"You got it," Natsu said
"I'm not done with you," Sting shouted
"Frosh, don't worry," Rogue said. "I'll be okay; I'm not giving up," he said as he stood up.
"Then come on then," Natsu said, taunting them.
"Cause we gotta fire in our belly, and it's dying to get out," Gajeel said, "so come at us like you wanna kill us."

"Give those jerks the beat down that they've been asking for," Lector called as Sting ad Rogue and up to Natsu and Gajeel, who turned the fight around the advantage that Sting and Rogue had earlier was gone as Natsu and Gajeel dominated the fight.
"I think they're having fun," Gray muttered "there just grinning away like a pair of idiots," he sighed, "figures they would pull a fast one on us."
"They truly are one of a kind," Erza said
"More than that," Laxus said. "Natsu has always been analytical, he wasn't bluffing when he said he was studying them." he explained "even before he was the chosen son Natsu always been strong he finds out how his opponents work then uses their own strength against them" he smiled, "and with Gajeel there the two are practically an unstoppable force" he finished as Natsu grabbed both Sting and Rogue sending them away with a powerful fire attack as Gajeel slammed them both into the ground with his Iron dragon club.
"Your boys may be winning, but the tenacity of the other two is quite remarkable," Makarov said
"Yes," Mavis agreed, "it's quite impressive," she said as Natsu fired off his fire dragon's brilliant flame, creating a large explosion.
"What an amazing battle" Jura said
"Yes," Lyon said, "they really are remarkable wizards. It's like their brain is moving at lightning speeds."
"The fire and iron wizards are giving off potent parfum," Ichiya said
"Yeah, I've never seen anything like it before," Ren said as Natsu landed a hit on Sting
"Nice hit," Lily said
"They're doing what they do best," Happy told him
"Had us going for a second there," Lily added, "looks like we were worried for nothing."
"Yeah," Happy said, "but it looks like now they're going all out."
Natsu and Gajeel leaped from their attacks as Sting landed on the ground "{white dragon: Roar"} he cried as Natsu landed on the ground.
"{fire dragon: Roar}" Natsu counted as the attacks created a large explosion.
"What the hell is going on down there," Ogra asked
"I have no memory of Sting and Rogue being overwhelmed in such a way when using that power," Rufus said
"Nor do I," Minerva huffed

"Come on, Sting," Lector cried. There was a time when he wanted to be as strong as him when he tried to fight, but that didn't matter cause Sting was his friend; he would always have his back.
"Now Sting," Rogue shouted. It was time they ended this
"Right," Sting called as their magic started to merge together
"Their magics changed again," Juvia said
"Cause they started to merge together," Cosmos explained
"They're attempting a unison raid," Makarov said
"The power they held separately is now one," Mavis said, "this can prove to be quite formidable."
"Get out of the way," Happy shouted.
"Come on, Rogue," Frosh said "they can do it right," he asked. Tears started to form on his face.
"of course, they can," Lector said, "cause no one can take them down."
"What the hell are those idiots doing" Cana screamed as Sting and Rogues' power started to fluctuate through the arena. Even in the infirmary, they could feel the large amount of power they were generating as the attack got stronger and stronger. It was clear that this wasn't the first time they pulled off a stunt like this "they need to get out of the way," Cana screamed.
"What is going on," Lola asked.
"Seems to me like they're attempting a unison raid." Yajima said, "they say you can train your entire life and never master it."
"The ultimate power of our dragon slayers," Minerva said, "there's nothing they can do. Not even their own dragon force can block this attack."
"What are they doing," Lily asked "do they think they can block it
"I don't know," Happy said as he thought back to their conversation before the fight started
Flashback
"Natsu," a voice called
"Gajeel," another one said as they turned to see them exceed pals waiting for them.
"Something wrong, you two," Natsu asked
"We need to head in, "Gajeel asked
"Nothing wrong," Happy said
"Well, in that case," Natsu said
"But we're not going to say anything," Lily said "you know what we mean by that, right" this was enough to get a smile out of the two dragon slayers as they nodded to their best friends.
"Yeah," Natsu said
"Thanks, partner," Gajeel smiled as they left the for ring
End Flashback

"Natsu," Laki screamed "get out the way, you idiot," she shouted.
"That move is going to hit you," Droy called
"You gotta get out of the way," Jet shouted
"there's no way you can block it," Levy shouted as Natsu said nothing. Turning back to the screen, he gave a smile making all his friends stop in their tracks. He could hear them. They knew he always heard them, but they all knew what the smile meant. A smile they hadn't seen years but had so many memories for them as Gajeel turned, smiling at them as well. The message was clear before they turned back for all who saw it as they all went silent.
"Just watch me."
"{Holy Shadow Dragon's Flash Fang}" Sting and Rogue shouted as they shot off their attack as Natsu and Gajeel faced off against the attack.
"there's this tension in the air," Elfman said, "and it's gotten really quiet."
"Can you sense it, child," Carla asked
"Yeah," Wendy muttered
"I'm not worried," Lucy said. "Natsu is never going to let us down." above them, Mavis watched a smile forming on her face as she thought of the conversation she had with Natsu earlier that morning.
Flashback
"Master," Natsu said as he and Mavis sat side by side, "I think I have an answer," he told her.
"Do you now," Mavis asked.
"both," Natsu said, getting a confused look from Mavis, "you need to have compassion for others in order to be attached with them," he said "to understand other you must be compassionate," he explained, "and you must learn when to be firm in order to make sure that the others around you grow and learn," Natsu said "like how you are with me," he said to this Mavis laughed.
"you've grown so much," Mavis said "it seems like yesterday you were that small little boy that I would have to tuck in at night" she smiled.
"Can I ask you, something master," Natsu said "what do you see in me"
"Hope," Mavis answered, "I see hope" she looked at him moving a bit "you are the future, Natsu, you and Mira, I've watched you grow into such amazing wizards." she smiled. "I know you do great things in the world."
"But I've made so many mistakes," Natsu said
"And," Mavis told him, "we're only human," she said "you wanna I know a secret Natsu," she said "I was never angry at you, Laxus, Freed, Bickslow, or Evergreen even Precht," she admitted "I was sad, cause I thought you lost your way" she looked at him "but you found it, and by finding it when the time came you were able to help Laxus and the thunder legion find there's as well."
"I didn't mean to" Natsu stopped, a smile working his way to his face. "Okay," Natsu said, "I'll do my best to live up to your expectations."
"You already have my son," Mavis said
"You already have."

Mavis would find herself surrounded by the darkness; she would walk this road alone as it should be, that is until she found four children a small light began to shine around as she approached the small group of frightened children "who are you" she would ask as they looked at her in fear she bent down so she could look them in the eyes she gave a warm smile.
"Mira"
"Elfman"
"Natsu"
"Lisanna"
"Are you hurt," she asked. They shook their heads. She looked around smiling "this is no place for children," Mavis said, "Would you like to be with me."
"But we need to help Mira," Lisanna would say
"I need to find my dad," Natsu said
"Then we can do so together," Mavis would say "now let's go," she said she would often wonder if this were fate as she grew attached to these children they would play and laugh. She would guide them through this world. It wasn't perfect. They managed. Eventually, they would find a small cat.
"Who am I" the cat would ask
"How about Happy" Lisanna would tell him
"Happy," the cat would ask. "Aye, sir"
"Happy would like to come with us," Natsu asked
"Yeah," Lisanna said, "you should come with us," but the peace and happiness would not last Lisanna would vanish, taken away by the darkness. Their pain was impossible to get over. Anger became their focal point, but they held on together through her memory. Hence, she promised herself it would never happen again.
one day they would find a small child a runaway "what's wrong" Natsu would ask
"Why are you here by yourself" Mavis would ask.
"I had to run away from home," the girl would cry "my daddy," she cried as Mavis brought her in for a hug. As Natsu looked at her with those eyes, she smiled, knowing what they should do "come, child." she said, "you can be with us."
"Can I," the girl said, "but"
"it's fine," Natsu said
"Yeah," Mira said
"But what if I cause you trouble," the girl asked
"Hey, we're family," Natsu said, "any trouble you face is our trouble, so what's your name."
"Lucy"
she never understood why she cared so much for these children, but she did any harm that would come to them would end with the death of the person who would dare cause them that pain
"I need to keep going," a voice called out as bot came from the darkness. "I need to find her," he said. "I need to make it up to her"
"what's wrong," Natsu asked as Mavis watched from over her shoulder
"Who are you," he asked
"Friends," Mavis said, coming behind Natsu, "and you are."
"lost"
"You want us to help you," Mavis asked
"Maybe," he said
"Do you have a name," Natsu asked
"Gray"
and thus they continued until they heard the sound of a child crying it was light, but it was near looking around they wondered where it came from and who it was it sounded like a child they looked and looked, but they couldn't see where the crying was it felt as if they were looking for hour's they just couldn't seem to find out where the crying was coming from until they found a wall going around it they found a small girl with red hair Natsu Gray and Lucy approached her as she looked up in fear behind them Mavis took in the child she looked like she had seen a lot and had been through a lot of pain
"Who are you," the girl asked, shrinking down into her hole "are you going to hurt me."
"No," Natsu said, "we want to help."
"How will you help me," she asked
"By giving you a home," Lucy said
"Yeah, no reason to be afraid," Gray said
"Aye," Happy told her. The girl gave a smile. It was the warmest smile that Mavis had ever seen. She smiled as the girl stood up, her appearance changing as her hair went into a braid
"I can really make a home with you" Mavis could hear the hope in her voice as she gave her a smile
"of course," Mavis said, "but we need your name."
"Erza"
together their combined presence would fill the hole that was left by their losses and the pain that they suffered as she would walk through the darkness, the light they shared guiding them, giving them some hop
"I think I see the light," a blue-haired girl called
"what's the point," another voice said he had black hair "they're just going to use us like everyone else."
"Is something wrong" Mavis would ask. She would laugh as the boy would get in front of his friend while he didn't show it. It was obvious that he cared for her as he tried to stand between his friend and a complete stranger, which to her credit was an understandable response to their presence
"We don't want no trouble," he would shout
"We were just heading home," Mavis said "would you like to come with us" the blue-haired girl would push past, nodding her head. She could see the darkness trying to grab her as Gray walked up to her.
"don't worry," he would say, smiling at her, "we won't hurt you" the girl would blush as the darkness would leave her, giving a smile.
"okay"
"but" the boy would say, "I just" he stopped "I want a home to" he would say
"Then tell us your names," Mavis said
"Juvia"
"Gajeel"
they would leave until one day they would hear a girl arguing with another cat "what do you mean" she would cry
"We need to look after ourselves," she would say "no matter what, I will protect you."
"But I want a family" she stopped when she felt Erza's hand on her shoulder, smiling at her. Carla would move as Happy placed a hand on her shoulder they would smile
"No need to be alone anymore," Erza said
"Yeah, we can be your family," Happy said, "what's your name."
"Wendy"
"Carla"
In the end, she gained something that magic could never give her. She had always dreamed of it, and it seemed like a pipe dream because of her life. Now she did. The world works in mysterious ways, and fate had delivered her with the one thing her heart wanted more than anything. The attack grew closer as Natsu and Gajeel stood back-to-back "you ready" Gajeel asked.
"Born that way," Natsu said, "{dragon slayer secret art}."
In the infirmary, Lucy smiled as Elfman and Evergreen started to argue "would you stop the old married couple routine" Porlyusica shouted.
"They're almost as bad as you and Makarov," Wendy teased, getting a reaction from her. As Wendy laughed, she noticed that she saw that Lucy had raised her hand in the air behind her. She smiled as she did the same. in the stands, Mira, Juvia, Erza, and Gray all joined even Laxus, who smiled as Natsu and Gajeel got ready to attack
'We are together.'
'Our hearts are one.'
'Our minds united.'
'Win or lose.'
'Through blood, sweat, and tears
'We will stand untied.'
'Because we are family.'
In the end, she gained something that she never imagined she could have "she really went and did it," Makarov and Porlyusica said she gained something that no magic could replicate but would make her want to increase her own magic. She could use it as a reason to get stronger to protect the place they would call home. The attack would come near Natsu and Gajeel as they got ready to block the attack "she took a group of misfits and outcast."
"{Flame lotus: exploding flame blade}."
"{Karma demon: Iron dragons' breath}."
"And turned them into a family."
the two attacks would clash, sending tremors through the entire arena

"The fighters have unleashed a devastating attack in the arena," Lola called "it seemed to have an effect on the Lacrima vision, hold up folks. We should be back up soon," he said as everyone watched with bated breath the tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife "and we're back folk sorry for the delay but who could have seen that coming," he said as everyone as Sting and Rogue stood across from Natsu and Gajeel both looked defeated as Rogue started to fall over.
"Their power," Rogue muttered, "knows no bounds."
"Sorry, Lector," Sting muttered "he's just so strong," he said as the pair fell over. Across from them, Natsu and Gajeel smiled as they raised their fist in the air declaring their victory. They gave a large smile as their scales disappeared, showing that their seals closed up.
"look like we have our winners," Lola called as the bells went off, "and with that team, fairy tail scores first place." he cried as everyone cheered "what a way to end the fourth day, stay tuned for tomorrow's thrilling conclusion as ever team will enter the ring for one ultimate match a six-way battle royal for the title of champion of Grand magic games. but we have a special rule you'll be bringing in your reserve member for this round of fighting," he cried "six powerful teams are about to collide, and only one will be left standing, so you won't want to miss a second of this thrilling action."
"I must admit," Riana said, "They are truly some impressive fighters."
"I just knew those fairies would end up on top," Bob said
"They're a wild bunch," Goldmine said
"thanks to this big turnaround, we need to focus on them," Ooba said
people in the stands could feel Jiemma's anger throughout the arena as everyone jumped back in fear
"Fairy tail is going down."
"Watch out, Gray," Lyon said
"Natsu," Jura said, "you too, Laxus, I wish to test my skill against the both of you."
"Erza," Kagura muttered.
"I find your Parfum irresistible Iron wizard," Ichiya said as the trimens agreed with their master.
"I can't believe they lost," Ogra said
"What a thrilling show to behold," Rufus said. "I have fully committed it to memory."
"I'm going have fun holding this over their heads for a while," Ogra laughed.
"that is if they last that long," Minerva said she more than anyone knew how her father was as she looked at the scores fairy tail had moved to first place with fifty-one points, and they were in second with forty-six tied with Ferrous Cinco with the nymph five close behind at forty-five, but they all had a lead on Blue Pegasus with thirty, and Quatro puppy with seventeen "those fairies and Mermaids will pay," Minerva said "if its war they want its war they will get"
"a complete and utter loss," Rogue said "how are they so powerful," he thought to himself, "how could we have been so arrogant."

"Oh yeah, that was awesome," Natsu said
"you guys were awesome out there," Gray said
"What you did deserves genuine praise," Erza said
Thanks," Natsu and Gajeel said
"you two were great out there," Lily said
"Come on," Erza said. "Let go tell the others the good news," she said as they walked to the infirmary. Everyone looked at them, thrilled at the news they were receiving.
"So, you are not going ask how it went," Natsu asked.
"I don't need to," Lucy said, "cause I believed in you."
"One more day," Erza said, "all we have to do is win tomorrow, then we can all go home," Erza said "after so long, it's hard to imagine
"we've come so far," Gray said. "Tenrou, the infinity clock, and now this," he said, "all of us have gone through so much," Gray said "we were humiliated and laughed at"
"Heck, we started at the bottom of the barrel," Elfman laughed, "but I knew you guys could pull through."
"It was a group effort," Natsu said, "but we can't stop now," Natsu said. "I'm taking you all home," Natu said, "that's a promise."
"So, one more day," Meredy asked.
"Yes," Ultear said as Jellal said nothing. The note they received had a message that had them all nervous.
'On July sixth, the fifth day of the Grand magic games, that is the day you will find your target, but there is more to this than meets the eye; you and fairy tail will need everyone's help to protect Crocus. From the coming storm. meet by the stairs just north of the castle. That is where this mysterious presence you sense will be waiting for you. Be sure to come alone.'
'July sixth,' Meredy thought to herself, 'that's a day before July seventh' her mind went to the rest of the note.
'On the seventh of July, the eclipse will open.'

The battle concludes as fairy tail takes first place. Now they have to win the final day of the grand magic games to win back Magnolia from Sabertooth, but will the guild honor this bargain find out next time on a fairy tail re-told
