Arcadios smiled as he walked up to the dragon slayers. "I must say it is an honor to be in your presence," he smiled "real life dragon slayers," he laughed, "and here I thought you all went extinct," he said 'no wonder it been hard to get a hold of this celestial wizard, she is under high protection' he thought to himself "I am colonel Arcadios leader of the sacred cherry blossom knights," he said giving a bow "the royal garrison force of the Fiore army."
"And I am Yukino Agria acting sergeant of the cherry blossom knights," Yukino said
"So, what business do you have down here," Gray asked, "why is the military interested in the remains of dragons."
"I don't get it; you're in the army," Lucy asked. Her attention had been on Yukino since she got here, her mind going back to their conversation back in their hotel room; she could only wonder what was going on.
"But you were with the Sabertooth a guild a couple of days ago," Lily asked.
"Did you join them after they kicked you out," Happy asked
"In a manner of speaking," Yukino said "yes"
"Please, I want you to hear me out," Arcadios said. "I am the head of a top-secret project that we have been working on for the past several years," Arcadios noted, "one that required the use of a celestial wizard, and thankfully Sergeant Yukino has the skills to help us in this endeavor."
"a celestial wizard," Lucy asked.
"Why would you need a celestial wizard," Natsu asked
"The one and only Salamander of Magnolia or do you prefer Natsu dragneel, the chosen son," Arcadios said, "congratulations on your victory at the grand magic games," Arcadios said, "your battle with the wizard saint Jura was a sight to behold."
"Forgive me for being forward," Natsu said "but why don't we skip the formal crap and get right to the point," Natsu shouted anyone there could hear the irritation in his voice. It had been a stressful night.
"Keep calm, bro," Wendy said, "let's not pick a fight with the capital."
"Idiot," Gray whispered.
"I think it's safe to say he's a pretty important dude," Happy muttered
"Calling him dude won't help Happy," Lily said
'A white knight,' Carla thought to herself fa prat of her could understand why Natsu was so angry. If her vision was correct, this guy could be trouble.
"Please, dragon slayers," Arcadios said "come with me," he said, walking away.
"You should come too Lucy," Yukino said, "it is in your best interest." she said as Natsu stepped in front of her "please, you have to trust me if our plan I indeed successful," Yukino said, "Zeref and Acnologia will be defeated as a result."
"Defeat Zeref," Meredy asked
"how" Natsu finished
"Come with us, and you can find out," Yukino said, "with Arcadios plan." seh said looking back at him walking away

"Wow," Happy said as Arcadios led him and the group to the castle Mercurius "this place is even bigger up close," he said, "are you sure it's okay for us to come inside."
"Yes," Arcadios said as he led them down a hallway, "first, I would like to give Miss Lucy my humble apologies," Arcadios said, "my actions from a few days ago put her in harm's way. " he said "my humble apologies," he said no one said anything as they walked down the halls "at the time we needed a celestial wizard to complete the project and I figured you would be the best candidate," he said "in truth, the grand magic games are nothing but a ruse," he said "while true the king wished to stop the guild fighting that plagued the lands years ago," he said, "there was another purpose, a way for us to drain magic power from the wizards participating to fuel this project."
"So, the games are a way for you to steal magic power from wizards," Gray said, "that's messed up."
"that's sick," Lily said
"You can say that again," Gajeel muttered
'Could this door be related to Zeref' Meredy thought to herself 'would explain why we sense Zeref every year.'
"you're all entitled to your opinions on the matter," Arcadios said, "but to me, the ends justify the means," he said as they came up to a large door with an elaborate design. A sun with a darkened moon below is at the center of the door. The lower section of the door from the sun past the moon is dark blue with golden lines; the upper area is green and split into twelve segments. Around the sun are several circles, the innermost one connecting the moon and twelve holes, one in each segment. A set of steps leads up to the door, and two pillars stand on either side of the door with an arch connecting them. Atop the arch is an emblem consisting of an eclipsed sun "this is the eclipse gate," Arcadios said as Meredy eyes widened in shock, "the door that will change the world."
"a door," Lucy asked, "to were."
"Today, on July seventh, when the sun and moon intersect, we will use the celestial keys to open the door." he said "it will then become a door to time in which we will travel four hundred years into the past to destroy both Zeref and Acnologia once and for all," he said, "their destruction is our ultimate goal."
"How is that even possible," Lucy asked.
"Tell me," Yukino asked, "does time in the celestial world differ from ours."
"Yeah, you can say that" Lucy muttered, "time is slowed down there, a month is a year to them."
"The gate can use that to allow us to travel through time," Yukino said
'What Ultear would have given to find this' Meredy thought to herself
"When night falls on this upcoming July seventh," Arcadios said, "we will be able to use the power of the gate travel thought time."
"July seventh," Natsu asked.
"That the same day our dragons disappeared," Wendy muttered
"Too big a coincidence if ya ask me," Gajeel said
'On July seventh, the eclipse gate will open,' Meredy thought to herself, 'but our mysterious contact said we need to destroy it' she thought to herself she could feel it Zeref's energy was all over this thing. However, there was still one question she had "can you tell me something," Meredy asked, "how did you come across this" Meredy asked, "better yet, how did you build it."
"We found it buried underneath the castle," Arcadios said. "I remember it like it was yesterday Arcadios said "fourteen years ago on July seventh I saw four bright lights shoot across the sky" he smiled "then several days later we discovered the eclipse" he smiled "it was fate."
"So, you know that this thing has some connection to Zeref himself, right," Meredy asked, "his magic power is all over it."
"I," Arcadios stopped, "while that bit of information is new, it doesn't change the course," he said
"that's all I needed to know," a voice called. They all turned to see Darton and several guards rushing up to them, pointing a spear "it would be wise to surrender peacefully," he said as everyone backed into each other.
"What the hell" Gray shouted, "you want a fight."
"we've done nothing wrong," Carla shouted.
"Arcadios brought us in here," Rossello shouted as she hugged Meredy's leg.
"What is the meaning of this" Arcadios shouted, "defense minister Darton, answer me now."
"I should be asking you this," Darton said, "you should know sharing state secrets with outsiders is forbidden."
"These are not outsiders," Arcadios released "they are an integral part of the eclipse gate project."
"You do not have that authority," Darton shouted "you are trying to change history. Do you have any idea how that could affect our current present"?
"Seems that not everyone is on board with the idea," Lucy muttered
"I mean, we're talking about changing history," Meredy muttered, "no telling how that could affect our world'" Meredy said 'would grimoire heart ever come to exist' she thought to herself 'would I ever become the white terror" she remembers her caretakers 'would she still be here with me.'
"Colonel Arcadios, you are under arrest for treason," Darton shouted "take the celestial wizards in custody a well," Darton said, "they are an accomplice to this scheme." he then looked at Meredy "and take the traitor to the state as well"
"what" Lucy shouted as the guards grabbed her. "I haven't done anything. Hell, they tried to kidnap me."
"don't you dare touch them" Natsu screamed
"you bastards want a fight" Meredy screamed as the guards came towards her
"No, wait," Arcadios shouted, "don't use magic so close to the gate," he screamed as the gate started open as Natsu and Meredy felt their bodies begin to go numb.
"No, wait," Natsu screamed as he felt his body go numb before falling to the floor. Meredy landing next to him
"Natsu" Happy called
"Meredy" Rosello shouted
"I'm sure Arcadios told you that games are merely a ruse," he said "any wizard whose foolish enough to use magic near the gate will have every bit of it drained from their body," he laughed "now will you come quietly."
"Damn you, Darton," Arcadios shouted, "damn you."

as everyone was thrown out of the place Gajeel managed to stand to his feet as Wendy ran to a still unconscious Natsu, sitting him on her lap as she checked his pulse "he's going to be alright," Wendy said giving a sigh of relief as she glared at Darton
"Now don't give me that look," Darton said "you need to understand that I am doing this for the greater good," he said "you of all people should understand this," he said, "the darkness you seek," he said, "they say that the eclipse gate was created by Zeref himself, " Darton said "the reason for is unknown to us as of now, but we only assume he meant to extend his will"
"what about Lucy and Meredy" Gajeel shouted "we had nothing to do with this that Arcadios guy was eavesdropping on our investigation," Gajeel shouted.
"Yes," Darton said, "but unfortunately, your investigation intertwines with the eclipse, it seems," Darton said. "I'm sorry, but this is the unfortunate truth. " As a celestial wizard, your friend is now in our custody until we say otherwise," he said, walking away. "and seeing as your recent victory in the grand magic games I will reconsider turning your friend over to the magic council"
"What do you mean Lucy and Meredy were arrested," Mira asked, "on what charge."
"Utter bullshit," Wendy shouted. "in Lucy's case anyway"
"To think Lucy would get wrapped up in a secret government plot," Mavis muttered "this is utterly ridiculous," Mavis said
"So let me get this straight they arrested her cause she just so happened to be in the room," Laxus asked "they got us by the balls right now," he said, "how do we know that this is an elaborate plot to make sure that we stay out of their way."
"No idea," Natsu said as he slurped on his fire, "but we need to think of something right."
"We can't just go to war with the kingdom Natsu." Mira said, "but he is right, master."
"Yeah," Rosello said, "our contact said that the eclipse gate opens on July seventh," she said, "and I get the feeling that that's a bad thing."
"Is there an eclipse coming up?" Juvia asked
"None that I know of," Mavis spoke, "but what's bothering me is that they let you all go free."
"Darton said it had something to do with you all winning the games," Wendy said
"But still," Gajeel said, "you think they'd want to keep this closed-lipped for the time being," he said, "and letting us go would put that at risk."
"It may be because you all on the team that won the grand magic games," Juvia said, "your high profile, so it would be weird that you just up and disappeared. "I imagine that they don't want the wizard guilds here looking into the situation."
"Yes," Mavis said, "that would cause complications. but then what could be"
"Is everything okay" a voice called. They turned to see Erza struggling downs the stairs.
"I told you to lie down," Wendy said
"You can't expect me to rest when one of my friends is in danger," Erza shouted.

"enough" Mavis screamed, getting everyone's attention "the kingdom took a member of this family against her will, and one of our friends is at risk as well," Mavis said "believe me when I say that we all want justice," she said, "but we have to use our heads," she said "this is no ordinary enemy," she said "there not even an enemy at all" she looked to the ground "but we need to learn more about this eclipse gate," Mavis said "and if what Rosello is telling us is true then we need to stop it"
"Meredy said that thing reeks with the magic of Zeref," Rosello told her. "she was positive that it has a connection to the black wizard."
"Whatever that connection may be, it is enough to raise some concern," Mavis said, "we will not cower in fear."
Yukino laid-against on the wall of her cell. Her mind had drawn a blank once again. She had screwed up. She looked up to see Lucy sitting at the cell. She seems to be doing something. "I'm sorry," she muttered, getting the girl's attention. "I never wanted to drag you all into this," she said, "but I've always been a bad luck charm."
"Hey, it's no problem," Lucy said as she stopped what she was doing "we just got caught in the middle of a power feud," she said, "but that's not our concern, she said, "we need to get out of here find Meredy and get our keys back," she said, "so let's just focus on that."
"I'm sorry," Yukino said again.
"Hey, come on," Lucy said "this isn't your fault at all," she said, "this isn't even our problem."
"But it is," Yukino shouted as she looked at the ground "a long time ago, I had a big sister," she said. "I was always getting into trouble, and my parents constantly stayed mad at me," she said, "but time after time, she would stand up for me" she smiled "she was my guardian angel," she laughed at the thought.
'it's not Yukino's fault,' her sister would say, "please don't get angry at her.'
"Then one night this Zeref cult raided our village," Yukino said "they killed our parents, and I have no idea if Soraneo even survived" she looked away, "with eclipse gate, we could go back in time," she said, "we can stop Zeref."
"You just want your family back," Lucy muttered. Her mind went back to her mom and dad. She had to ask herself if she would go back in time, would she, but at the same time, how would that one change her future? Would she ever meet Natsu, Gray, Erza, Wendy all the adventures they went on "but is it worth the risk" Lucy asked her "what of all the friends you have"
"What, friends" Yukino shouted. "I have nothing." she screamed "the two friends I thought I had dropped me the first chance they got," she said, tears filling her eyes.
"You have Natsu and Mira," Lucy said, "We both know that they value anyone who comes through Magnolia," she said, "and we're friends two," she said, "we're both celestial wizards, so that makes us sisters in a way." Lucy said as she placed her head against hers, "I know you miss them, but you have to understand that it best to leave things in the past" she said "if we spend so much time looking back, we miss the things right in front of us" she gave her a smile
"You might miss the life that you have right now."
It is now officially July seventh, the day the eclipse gate is supposed to open. The crowd celebrates the end of the grand magic games and the wizards who participated in the guild master plan meeting to discuss the term's victory. However, fairy tail has another ploy in mind. Levy was seen walking through the bustling streets of Crocus. Looking around, she smiled "this is sprengeri three. I'm in position," she said over her communication Lacrima.
"Good," the voice of Mavis came, "your current operation is the find any information about the Eclipse gate. I would start in the library," she said, "sprengeri two is taking another lead."
"Understood ma'am," Levy said, "and good luck at the meeting" in another part of Cross, Mavis sighed as he placed the lacrmia down as he entered the building where the guild masters were supposed to meet.
"You know, red," Laxus said, "you should still be resting."
"I want to see Millianna," Erza said, "and with Natsu and Mira still resting some, one of us has to watch after Mavis."
"that's what I'm here for," Laxus said. "I'm better off, Laxus said"
"Yes," Evergreen said, "and the thunder legion is here as well."
"Millianna is still in the medical ward," a voice called. They turned to see Riana approaching them "at our place," she said, "I take it you know where."
"Yes," Erza said, "if you don't mind, I would like to speak to them."
"of course," Riana said, "though Kagura may be asleep," Riana said, "I want her to get as much rest as possible."
"I understand, ma'am," Erza said, " master."
"Go," Mavis said, "but once your down, return to the in," Mavis said, "you need rest as well, Erza."
"Understood," Erza said
'Part A went well,' Mavis thought to herself, 'my children, it now falls on you to find and rescue Lucy Meredy and Yukino, get all the information you can."
Natsu Mira, Wendy, Kinana, Happy, Carla, and Lily ran to the castle elsewhere. July seventh has arrived, and the eclipse will soon open. on a tower, the hooded women smiled as she watched Natsu and Wendy
'My fledglings, you must hurry,' she thought to herself
'You cannot let the gate open.'
