Hatsue barely remembers what went wrong, all she could think was run, hide and survive. A thirteen year old kid with medical knowledge can't save her from this. Everyone was in chaos, shinobis left and right were on their own. It seemed that Konoha finally cut off the supply line at Kannabi Bridge, it was naive for everyone to think they'd retreat. Konoha and Suna should've seen this coming. Iwa shinobis commit kamikaze.
It was the most terrifying thing to witness.
There was only the want to live. And cowardice.
And display of selfishness.
War brought out the worst.
"They're not Konoha-nin, leave them!"
A scene of dead bodies. Block it out, Hatsue.
The word allies was a joke. Don't think, Hatsue.
"Don't waste your time healing them, they're not Sand-nin anyways."
Everyone's lives were on a weighing scale. Which shinobi is more important? Hatsue, stop.
How long 'til Suna's borders?
Keep walking.
"I hope we can live in an era of peace."
Keep walking.
"We leave the future to you, little kango-hei."
Keep walking.
I'm just a kid.
Just drag your feet.
Why would you leave it to me?
One step.
I don't want that.
One more.
Stupid adults.
Thirsty.
Irresponsible.
Hungry.
Don't leave the future to the kids.
Am I there yet?
Fix it yourself.
Is she the kid who-
Dragged a corpse on her back.
For days! Didn't even realize it.
Damn.
Got separated from the others due to Iwa's last hurrah now that Kannabi's destroyed.
So she used the corpse as a shield?
No, genuinely thought the body's alive. Kept mumbling she treated the body and it was still alive. Hallucinating more like.
Starved and dehydrated. Of course she's hallucinating.
Seems like she was protected by the corpse. Kunais. Shuriken. Senbon.
The corpse looked like a damn practice target.
So what happened to the kid? She alright?
Kango-hei? She has her parents. She'll be fine.
They're civvies, though?
At least she's got parents.
Not our problem.
Seeing Suna's gates was the most blissful thing to see. A dark blob from far away with red hair was coming her way. She felt her heart soaring at once; newfound energy pumped in her veins, subconsciously finding herself running too. Her mind screamed one name. Sasori. Sasori. Sasori.
"SASORI!" Hatsue shouted with the biggest smile on her face and finally she leaps towards him.
For a moment she was unscarred.
For a moment she was a child.
For a moment everything was alright.
A's note:
I AM BACK. LOL. Sorry for the short chapter. My mind's a mess rn. I don't know how to write battle scenes that's why I had writer's block until I asked myself 'why the fuck you wanna write a battle scene for? Write what you wanna write and if it's fluff you want, then fucking write it.' I'll update within 24 hrs when someone leaves a review. But mehh. Kinda got drowned writing pov scenarios ya know (like bakugo x reader stuff in my tumblr, never thought it would be so fun?)
To Lil:
Thanks for reading and leaving a review!
