"oh, zodiac, of the twelve stars, oh 88 stars of heaven," Lucy started as Yukino followed close behind, "we ask you grant us the light to cleanse the lands, the sea, and heavens," she asked as a bright light shined around them large magic circle forming beneath them as they got ready to cast the spell, "we ask thee oh thy malevolent gate" Lucy screamed, "shine to bare your fangs grant us the light of the king."

"We need to move," Carla shouted

"Aye, sir," Happy screamed

"So bright," Rossello screamed

"Get behind me," Cosmos shouted as she pulled several roots out of the ground "come here, princess," he said as Arcadios grabbed her, protecting her with his body as the ground started to shake.

"shine, unleash your fury," Lucy and Yukino said in unison "{Regulas metria}" they screamed as a bright light shined over the kingdoms, causing the ground to shake a large beam in the shape of a sword crashed into the ground as everyone saw the bright light shining from Mercurius as Lucy and Yukino fell to the ground the gate lying in ruins.

"That worked," Lucy joked as Yukino chuckled as she sat her down "you okay."

"Yeah," Yukino said, "I'll be fine" as Mira came up to them

"Nice job, ladies," Mira said as she helped Yukino to her feet "you did us, proud Hun," she said, giving her a hug

"Thank you, Mira," Yukino said

"You destroyed the gate Lucy" Happy cheered

"Nice work," Carla said

The grand banquet

"You hear," someone said, "They say the reason for that mass evacuation was because of dragons," he said

"What, no way," another person said, "everyone knows those things aren't real," he said, turning around.

"It was probably those wizards getting out of hand," a waitress said

"Naw," the person said, "the king is throwing them this large ball tonight."

"Really," someone asked, "man, I wish I could go to that."

"That's a first. They've never ended the grand magic games on such a high note" they all laughed as they turned to face the castle "he must have been impressed by the wizards."

It's been several days since the end of the grand magic games. As Yukino stood in a dressing room, she let out an embarrassed sigh as she turned around "do I have to wear this" she asked as Lucy and Mira came up to her.

"of course," Lucy said, "you look great."

"Hey Mira," Kinana called, "could you help me with this," she asked as Mira turned to help the girl with her dress.

"don't worry," Wendy said, "you'd probably look great in anything," Wendy said, "the boys will be eating out of the palm of your hands." she smiled as they left the room.

"Umm, Lucy, are you sure this is okay," Katja asked.

"Okay," Lucy asked, "you look downright adorable," Lucy said as the girl turned away, blushing as they walked into the large ballroom floor where the party was being held. As they entered, everyone turned and traded greeting with them as they walked past

"Hey, you guys made it," Elfman said

"Bout time," Cana said "now we can party," she screamed as she started drinking.

"That get-up is a little fancy for you," Gray said

"at least I'm wearing something," Gajeel shouted

"Be nice," Erza said "we need to get along with our former competitors as well," Erza said

"Yeah, I guess," Gajeel said "hey, where's Salamander," he asked "did he skip this thing," he asked as they started to go around eating and talking with others.

"This is some real man food," Elfman shouted.

"Hey guys, look," Cana screamed. "I'm seeing double."

"Behave yourself, Cana," Macao screamed

"The king is being generous by letting us in here," Lily said

"we'll see if that lasts the night," Carla noted, "these hooligans will test his patients at least once." she laughed, "and hey have you seen Happy."

"No, he's normally with you," Lily told her

"Hip hip, hurray for king Ichiya," the trimness shouted as Ichiya grabbed a microphone.

At this point, the ladies of Mermaid heel walked in with an embarrassed Kagura in toe. "I can't believe I'm wearing this," she muttered.

"Master," Kagura said, embarrassed at this

"I guess you can say that," Mavis muttered as she snapped her fingers, placing herself into a black dress with a white sash as she placed her hair in a ponytail "is this better," she asked, giving a twirl.

in an empty room, Gajeel turned a corner to see Levy writing in a journal

'We put everything on the line between dragons and grand magic games, but we survived like we always do,' she wrote. She smiled as she finished,

"There you are," Gajeel said, "ditched the party to do some writing."

"Yeah, I guess," Levy said, "I'm a nerd."

"Naw," Gajeel said, "you're just a rebel," he said

"I'm just glad you're okay," Levy said, "fighting another dragon slayer then having to take on a dragon," she said

"You shouldn't have to worry about me like that," Gajeel said

"But I do," Levy said as she smiled at him, "cause you, my friend" this was enough to get a smile out of Gajeel as he nodded his head to the girl, "and I," she looked away "you mean a lot to me okay."

"Yeah, I guess you could say that," Gajeel said as he noticed the tears in her eyes. "Hey, now don't start crying."

Hisui smiled as she walked up to Lucy, who was busy enjoying the food with Michelle and Katja "hello Lucy," she called as the girl panicked, struggling with the remaining food in her mouth. She turned, giving her a grin "glad to see you're enjoying the food."

"Maybe a little too much," Lucy laughed.

"So, are you a part of the Heartfilia family," Hisui asked

"Yeah, my dad made quite the name for us," she laughed

"Uncle Jude was determined, man," Michelle said

"He was nice," Katja added

"He was also a personal friend of mine," Hisui admitted, "which is why I feel all the worse for all the trouble I've caused you."

"really," Lucy asked as Michell just shrugged "well, don't worry about it, princess." she laughed "trust me, when I saw that trouble finding us is nothing new," Lucy laughed "in fact, we gave up trying to find it cause it's usually trying to find us" this got laugh out of Hisui as she turned around.

"You know I'm surprised that pink-haired boy hasn't joined us," she said

"Who, Natsu," she asked, "now that you mention it," she looked around. "I haven't seen him all day," she whispered. "I know Wendy let him and Meredy out of the medical ward." both, of course, we're really messed up after their fights, more so than everyone else 'I don't think I've ever seen someone chew out a dragon slayer like Wendy did, it was kinda entertaining.'

"Well, if you see him let me know," Hisui said. "I really want to thank him and all the dragon slayers," she smiled. "I've always wanted to meet one in person."

"Well, I know Wendy and Gajeel are around," Lucy said. "I'll let you know but know they're not big on praise."

"Please do," Hisui told her "we owe a lot to their heroics and the other one," she asked "the pink-haired female," she asked but was concerned when Lucy gave her a nervous look

"try not to bring her up okay," Lucy said "there not exactly on friendly terms," she said the wink she got was all she needed to know

"Hey Juvia," Gray said, "what's wrong." the girl had come up to him gripping his shirt, but she was quiet. She had been like that ever since the battle ended.

"I feel," Juvia said. "Juvia feels like she should apologize," she looked away, "but she doesn't know why."

"Hey, come on, we made it," he said "you have nothing to apologize for" he smiled.

"I know," Juvia said, "but" she stopped looking away

"Then stop thinking about what if and coming from the world's current authority of past regret." Natsu said as he looked to the sky ", this is one thing you don't want to wonder what if about"

"No," Mavis said, "he had other things to take care of tonight. He said he'd be here later."

"Oh," Wendy said, "Well, he better hurry before I eat everything."

"Natsu hasn't shown up," Bickslow asked

"That is odd," Evergreen said behind him

"Wonder what he's doing," Laxus muttered, a group of girls attached themselves to him.

Kagura walked alone through the party. Riana had gone off to talk with the other wizard saints. She sighed. She knew what she had to do but could she do it she tripped a bit 'damn heels" Kagura muttered 'why did master talk me into wearing these' she then remembered how happy she looked when she agreed to let her dress her up she sighed as much as she was acting out she did enjoy it was nice to just talk with Riana in a calm setting.

"I'm just glad you're okay," Riana said as she pulled the comb through her hair. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, getting Kagura's attention "it's my fault you're" she was stopped when Kagura jumped up, hugging her

"No, it isn't," she said. I was consumed by hate and anger," she said, "so much that I started to forget everything you taught me," she said, "but now, after everything, I realize that I," she stopped fumbling over her words, "that I" she was stopped when Riana rubbed a hand through her head before kissing her forehead

"I know," she said, "and I love you to Kagura," she said, "my little princess."

"I'm not a princess," Kagura grumbled. "I'm a warrior."

"No stop," Kagura screamed "this is embarrassing," she shouted as her friends laughed at her.

"I think you need a hug," Risley laughed, "and so does she," she said, glancing at Millianna, who had taken a seat on the floor.

"I do wish she would cheer up," Kagura muttered.

"don't worry," Erza said. "I know just what to do," Erza said as she reached in her dress, pulling out both Carla and Lily. It was a good question about how they got in there, but it was Erza's magic trick.

"Kitty," Millianna cheered as she started squeezing them so tightly they let out breaths of air.

"This hurts," Carla screamed

"Wait a minute," Millianna said, "where's the blue one," she said "she "he's cutest of them all," she said

"Now that you mention it," Erza said, "I haven't seen Natsu or Happy since Wendy let him out of the medical ward this morning," she whispered, "it's starting to worry me," she said

"Well, he better show up quick," Millianna said. "I want to see the blue kitty witty."

"Calm down," Erza said as Millianna made a pouty face at her

"I must admit," Riana said as she poured another drink, "it is nice to talk with you all," she said "the only time we see each other is in meetings," she laughed

"Yes," Jura said, "We should make more efforts to meet up."

"Not sure how the top brass would feel about that." Cosmos said, "they're a bunch of recluses."

"They barely show their faces in general," Riana said. "I think we'll be fine."

"Not every day I get to get out of the palace," Cosmos said, "especially with the hungry wolf knights running around," she laughed, "but hey, a team-up between the four of us could be fun."

"Man, you're eating over here too," Mavis groaned, "whatever," she said as she sat down.

"Yeah," Gajeel said, "that future you was a real piece of work."

"I know," Rogue said. "I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I don't become him," he said

"Yeah," Gajeel said, placing a hand on his shoulder."

"he's got no need to worry," Sting said, "as long as I'm here, he won't fall into any darkness."

"Yes," Rogue said, "you'll be there to quell my darkness," Rogue said, "whatever that may be"

"that's what we want to hear," Ogra said

"Yes," Rufus said, "that will be in our memories for as long as we remember."

"But I guess we should see what holding up Salamander," Gajeel said, "come on, kid."

"Alright," Wendy said, "let's hurry before we eat everything else" she laughed as the group went to Mira, who turned to them smiling.

He could finally come out and be alone to his thoughts, well, his and Happy's "you know, buddy," Natsu said, "I'm sure Lisanna would have loved this place," he laughed.

"Aye," Happy said, sitting up.

"You know when I," Natsu stopped, "no, never mind," he said, "not going to do that tonight."

"Can I ask you something, Natsu," Happy said "if you had the choice to stay in Edolas," he asked, "would you have taken it."

"Naw," Natsu said, "earth land is my home; nothing will change that," he said as he patted his best friend on the head "besides, I can't leave you all by yourself," he laughed. as he looked into the distance "Lisanna would kill me."

"You got that right." Happy said as they laughed. They went back to enjoying their silence.

"You know," a voice called, "you clean up nice" they turned to see Meredy walking up to him "also, you're in my brooding spot."

"Really now," Natsu said, "you're just going to have to deal," as Meredy walked next to him. "I was here first."

"Hey, happy," Rossello said, "you okay."

"she knew," Natsu said, "at that moment she made a choice she knew that there was the smallest chance that it could work, and she knew that she would never see if her sacrifice meant anything" he laughed "in the end, she just had faith," she said "in you, me, Wendy, and Gajeel," he said " faith in all us that we could finish the fight," he said as he looked to the sky "faith that we could create a future worth living in."

"I miss her," Rossello muttered "it's only been a few days, and I already miss her"

"I'll bet," Meredy said, "you know before she left," she said, "when I got the vision or whatever," Meredy muttered, "she told me that the last seven years of her life she was happy," Meredy said "it funny cause back when we were a part of Grimoire heart that's all she wanted," Meredy said "happiness" she stopped when she felt Natsu bring her in for a hug.

"Does Gray know," Meredy asked

"I told him," Natsu said, "he hid it well, but I know he is taking it pretty hard," he said, "I'll give him time."

"Thanks for handling that for me," Meredy muttered "you should get going," Meredy said. "I'll be fine," she whispered, "but you don't want to miss that party."

"Eh, I'm sure I can be spare a few more minutes," Natsu said, "you clearly need some company."

"Keep talking like that, and I'll keep you here the whole time," Meredy said as she sat up, looking him in the eyes "keep you all to myself. I know Wendy will most certainly hate that," she laughed, "and your pals are probably worried about where you are," she said

"We could just tell them he's taking a nap," Happy said "they'll believe that"

"Yep, you and Meredy are the napping masters," Rossello said

"Not sure how we should take that," Meredy said laughing, "but thanks, buddy." as she looked out again,

"and then come to find out it was a lie," Mered laughed "all of it was a freaking lie, and I was nothing more than Hade's personal butcher," she screamed "you never realize the kind of effect you have until you hear a story about yourself in a bar," she said "when you learn just how much of a monster you were," she sighed calming down "until see just how many lives you've ruined how do you come back from that," she said, "how do you redeem yourself when every time you look in a mirror the only thing you see is the monster you've become."

"Hey," Natsu said, "you're going to get redemption," Natsu said. "I promise," he said, "and you'll see her again," he said as she hugged him, hearing her breathing hitch "you want me to go," he asked.

"Myra," Meredy whispered, "that was her name," she said, "that was the name of the woman who took me in."

"Was that what Kama showed you," Natsu asked. She nodded

"Meredy," Rossello said

"I killed her," Meredy muttered "she loved me. She took me in, protected me," Meredy said, "and how did I repay that I killed her," she said "oh god, do you ever feel like you just lose ya know," she said

"Yeah," Natsu said, "but we have to look at what we gained, right," he said. "I mean, when I miss Lisanna, I think about Erza, Wendy, Lucy, even that prick Gray," he laughed. "I gained them"

"I guess you can say I gained you," Meredy said, "lucky me." this got a laugh out of the pair as she leaned on his shoulder, letting out a breath of air as she took in the silence the sound of water enter her ear and the sound of crickets to one of the perks of being a dragon slayer she could hear nature wherever she went "I'm sure Lisanna would have loved this Natsu."

"Yeah," Natsu said, "promised I'd take some flowers to her grave when I got back to Magnolia."

"Leave some for me to," Meredy said, "and one day I might pass through town so I can meet her," she whispered.

"Me too," Rossello said as silence came over the group as Meredy looked at the lake again.

"don't go just yet," Meredy whispered. "Please," Meredy said, "I just"

"I know," Natsu said. "I got time," he said

"Can you promise me something," Meredy asked

"Yeah," Natsu answered

Lucy, Mira, and Yukino walked through the ballroom, the three just enjoying each other company until they came face to face with Sting, who looked in shock as he finally saw his old friend. "I'm sorry," Yukino said, "but I don't think I can do this," she walked away, hoping to avoid any interactions with Sting.

"No, wait," Sting said. "Yukino, please don't go," he said "the master and Milady are gone," he said, "the old Sabertooth is dead."

"What do you mean," Yukino asked

"Look," Sting said, "that night," he said, "I should have stood up for you," he said, "We grew up together," he said, looking to Mira, "and I threw you to curve," he said tears coming to his eyes. "I promise you that Sabertooth will change."

"we'll Sting," Yukino said. "I wish you luck with that."

"yeah, they even have the same hair," Elfman said, "it's cool."

"In any case," Arcadios said, "I would like to introduce his majesty" he was again dumbfounded when Mato came out.

"Whoops, I brought the wrong costume," he said as the whole place laughed. A few seconds later, everyone started to dance. Elfman and Evergreen reluctantly started to dance together though anyone watching could tell that both had enjoyed it. Freed was about to ask Laxus to dance. Still, he walked away; make of that what you will, the night's surprise was when Gray went up to Juvia. He held his hand out, which she joyfully accepted as both Erza and Natsu looked on with smiles.

"looks like he took our advice," Erza said

"about time," Natsu said, "he deserves it" they looked at each other before a smile came across their faces before either could say anything.

"Hey, Natsu," Wendy's voice rang out, "get over here before I eat everything."

"Erzy," Millianna shouted, "where's the blue kitty."

"you should deal with that," they said to each other, laughing

"that bastard," Lyon shouted as Laki stood behind him, looking over his shoulder. She saw Gray and Juvia dancing letting out a defeated sigh. She jumped in front of him "what, Laki, what do you want"

"Fine," she muttered, holding out her hand, "just this once."

"Yes," Lyon shouted, "now to make Juvia jealous."

'What have I got myself into." Laki asked as Lyon dragged her to the dance floor. She saw Cana and Mira giving her a look "not a word," she screamed.

"Yay," Millianna screamed, "there you are, the cutest kitty of all," she cheered, "about time you showed up."

Natsu smiled as Wendy, Gajeel Sting, and Rogue started eating "this is some tasty stuff.

"if I may, your majesty," Arcadios said, "the original purpose of the eclipse was to defeat Zeref," he said, walking up to him, "that time traveler predictions and schemes lead to changing the project and the eclipse two," he said "in his bid to defeat the one called Acnologia," he said, "please forgive her."

Hisui smiled as all these people came to her defense

"Naw," Mavis said, "they got this," she said as she went back to watching Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel stuff inhuman amounts of food in their mouths.

"Arcadios' loyalty to Hisui, Darton's loyalty to the kingdom," he said, "and the wizard's loyalty to protecting the peace." he looked down "so I have the most fitting punishment" in a flash, a pumpkin head was on Hisui's head "you must wear this pumpkin head for an entire week."

"That's all," Darton asked.

"Yes," Toma said, "do this, and the slate will be clean" Toma

"isn't that great, princess," Lucy said

"You bet," Hisui said "pumpkin," she said as everyone started laughing

"What a turn of events," Mavis said, "almost makes you forget where carrying the world's weight on our shoulders."

"What do you mean, master," Mira asked

"Nothing," Mavis said

"Listen," Hisui said, "Natsu was it," she said. "I want to thank you," she said, "for everything," she said, walking up to him.

"Bygones," Mavis said, "as long as you took something from this experience, your majesty," Mavis said, "though I Will admit that is a good look for you," she said, smiling at her "pumpkin."

"Yeah, you look great," Mira laughed, "pumpkin."

"I do have extras," Toma said as he placed ones on Mavis, Mira, and Natsu. "feel free to take as many as you like."

"Oh yeah," Natsu said as he plopped one on Lucy's head Erza, Gray, and Wendy laughed at this as they grabbed some.

"Come now, old friend," Zeref said as he turned his back "you should know better by now," he said. "I have no control over that monster; I merely pointed him in the right direction, figured why should I waste this opportunity," he laughed "in fact, it was two of your precious fledglings clash that really got him going," he said, "power like that circling through the air" he laughed "those two will destroy nations."

"Maybe," Zeref said, "but now I'm watching the gears turn as an era comes to an end," he said "four hundred years the world has waited for this moment," he laughed, "and you so fearful of disrupting their lives that you refuse to tell them the truth."
