Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or Percy Jackson; I write for fun and make no profit off this.
AN: So here is chapter 2 of New Dimension, it's about 2 weeks late (Been busy, and focused on writing other stuff). This is a different Harry, canon diverged in his 4th year as you will see in this chapter. Now as usual I don't know any French, so Italics will denote French speech, when used, it won't be this chapter though. Parseltongue will be in bold with $ to show where it starts and ends. Also, Zephyr will be his bonded familiar. I toyed with the idea to bring in a snake familiar before I settled on Zephyr, who is an OC from An Unexpected Development. If he has a snake familiar in any of my works, it will always be Zephyr (just an alternate version.) The flashbacks will be numerous through this work that will show his previous relationship, it will be a key part of this story and won't all be revealed at once. In this story Harry pushed all his feelings down, to not deal with the heartbreak he suffered. There is a slight crossover with Percy Jackson, except for one character there won't be any crossover. After I complete this story, I plan to do a bunch of one shot's that will detail his adventures before coming to this new dimension. That's if anyone wants to read them, let me know.
Chapter 2: His Story:
Sirius led them to the apparation point in Diagon Alley, he was thrilled to be reunited with his godson, a godson who seemed very different. He seemed confident and powerful, leagues more than he was when he last seen him. Harry thought he hid it well, but Sirius could see pain hidden in his emerald eyes. What must have happened to his godson he wondered.
Looking at his godson when they reached their destination, "Pup, you'll side-along with me. You lot can head to my home." With Harry's acceptance, Sirius gripped his godson's shoulder and apparated away.
When Harry arrived, he felt disorientated until Sirius said, "Sirius and Amelia Black live at the Ossuary." Ah, the fidelus he thought, a clever charm. His vision stopped swimming as he took in the foyer he was currently in, it was beautiful if not elegant, probably from centuries of upkeep. He had never seen this place in his reality, it was destroyed in 96 when Voldemort killed Amelia. Susan had lost everything in the attack that took her aunt from her.
A couple pops later and he was soon surrounded by his 'family' and Tonks.
Clapping his hands together he asked, "So, is this everyone who wants to hear my story?"
"We should probably get Albus here pup, I'll fill Amelia in later, she's going to be busy tonight." Sirius said slapping his hand on his Godson's shoulder.
Tonks asked, "Oi! Can I bring my girlfriend?"
Harry looked at her for a moment, "Do you trust her?"
Sirius let out peel of laughter, "Trust me pup, even you will trust her." He finished wagging his eyebrows.
Sighing loudly and rubbing his forehead, "Whatever Tonks, get her here soon then."
She nodded sending a Patronus message off."
"I'll send a message to the headmaster." Harry said conjuring his own Patronus, much to the amazement of his 'family' as Prongs made an appearance.
After sending off his message off he noticed the tears welling in his alt. Fathers eyes. He tried to ignore it; this wasn't his father! His parents died almost 25 years ago, he had been alone for so long, no reason to change that now.
A crack sounded as someone apparated in, he turned to the newcomer only to be hit with a memory of pain and longing as he stared at the alternative counterpart to the woman he had loved.
Flashback:
It was a beautiful day as he sat at the black lake, winter was just starting its decline into spring. A couple warming charms were all that he needed to stay warm as he gazed at the squid as it played with the merepeople.
"Arry?" He spun around at the voice of the angel who had stolen his heart all those months ago. He smiled at his love as he stood and dragged her into his embrace.
Present
Pain and heartbreak were easily seen on his face as he schooled his features, "Hello, Ms. Delacour." He finished with a nod of his head.
Sirius looked at his godson in understanding, "Pup, I'm sorry."
Glaring at Sirius, "Just leave it Sirius, and don't mention it."
Rose looked at her brother puzzled at his behavior, "What's going on?"
"Nothing Rose, your brother just was lost in thought." Sirius said as The Potters looked on in sadness. Tonks must have figured it out also because she went silent as she grasped her girlfriend's hand in her own. Fleur just looked on in confusion, the stranger elicited a sense of sadness in her that she didn't understand.
Broken out of their state by the arrival Dumbledore. He coughed to get everyone's attention, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"
Harry's gaze locked with the man who had ruined his life. No, this man hadn't ruined his life, this man was innocent. Shaking his head, "No, you didn't, let's take this discussion to a sitting room. If you don't mind Sirius, I'd rather not stand, I think I have a couple broken ribs."
"Pup…" Sirius looked at his godson in annoyance, Lily looked livid that he was ignoring his injuries, James looked at him in disappointment, and the three remaining females looked at him like he was stupid.
"Don't Sirius, I've had worse as you well know." Harry glared at his godfather in a way that would reduce many grown men into a stuttering mess of fear. "Now, lead the way, besides Zephyr is getting uncomfortable, I need to let him out."
Sirius rubbed his temple as he led the way into his sitting room. He had many questions, but they could wait until they were all seated.
As they took a seat at a large clearly antique table, Harry lifted his shirt to see his now discolored skin. Tonks winced at the sight, it looked painful. Harry started chanting in parseltongue as he placed the tip of the elder wand on each rib. Albus eyes went wide at the appearance of the hallow, he gripped his own as he looked on at what he assumed was The Master of Death. With a loud crack and a groan from Harry his ribs were realigned.
"Merlin, I hate doing that. Better than standard healing charms though."
"You're a Parselmouth?" Fleur asked, excited to finally meet one. They were highly revered in veela culture, due to their healing arts. Not to mention her maman said they made excellent lovers. Her people held no prejudice to those that were different, too often they were judged for things they couldn't control.
Avoiding her eyes, "Yes, I am. I studied for 3 years in India learning all I could about the healing arts and combat magic associated with the language. It's funny only in Europe is it considered a dark ability when it is one of the greatest healing arts in the known world. People probably dislike it because you can't learn it, it can only be inherit it."
"How could you inherit it though; the Potters aren't related to Slytherin." James asked with a frown adorning his face.
"I inherited it from mum's side of the family. It took me months to trace her lineage back to a descendant of The Gaunts in the 17th century, they squibbed out and were sent to the muggle world." Lily looked at him eagerly to learn more about her family, only to be interrupted by her daughter.
"Is that why I can understand you?" Rose asked.
"Probably, the Peverell blood from Dad's line must have revived the gift in our family." Harry said not noticing the looks of happiness James and Lily gave him at the mention of family and him inadvertently calling James Dad.
Suddenly Harry's arm started shaking, "All right, damn it, Zephyr!" He started chanting again at his now exposed shoulder which housed a winged serpent tattoo. When his chanting finished his tattoo rose into the air taking a 3d shape as it shimmered into a corporeal state.
$ ABOUT TIME YOU IDIOT! $ Zephyr said slapping Harry across his face with his tail.
$ Oi! Don't call me names. I've been busy. $ Harry said rubbing his head scowling at his best friend.
$ Busy getting your arse kicked. $
$ I held my own just fine $
$ NO, you didn't you simpleton. You fought like an amateur. If you would have fought seriously you would have taken the noseless one down easy. You acted cocky, since when did you taunt your enemies! $ Zephyr said wanting to roll his eyes if he could at the sheer stupidy of his human.
Rose started laughing at the back in forth that was going on, breaking the two of them out of their argument.
Zephyr looked at the red headed girl before flying over to her, missing the clenching of James as he held himself back from attacking him. $ Speaker? $
$ Speaker? What's that $ Rose asked puzzled at the question.
$ It's what you are doing young one. $ Zephyr said with a shake of his head.
$ What I'm doing? Oh, I'm speaking to you! I really am a parselmouth. $ Rose said realization dawning on her face, excitement that she could do what her brother could.
Zephyr huffed in frustration, $ You must be related to this idiot, I swear you two are the worst speakers I have ever come across. $
Harry scoffed at his familiar, $ Outside of India, we are the only two speaker you have met. $
Looking at his human he hummed, $ I guess you're right, too bad at that, I need to find some smarter speakers. $ He said as he coiled himself around a startled Rose's arm. $ I think I'll stay with her, she's prettier. $
$ Traitor. $ Muttered Harry, as Rose giggled at Zephyr.
Sirius scowled at his godson, "Pup, we have talked about this. If your going to speak that weird language," Zephyr hissed at him, Sirius merely rolled his eyes. "Then include us in the conversation."
"Fine, short story then, Zephyr was pissed that I didn't let him out, probably to help in the ministry. He also likes Rose, I think you were called," She nodded her head, "Better because she is prettier." He finished with a scowl at the snake, who just did the equivalent of whistling and looking away from him.
"It's sad really, after all I did for him, he's just an ungrateful little addler."
$ HOW DARE YOU! I'm nothing like those little pansies, I'm a fearsome creature of legend! $ Zephyr said raising his head and hissing at his human.
"Funny you didn't seem too fearsome to me when you ran from that Basilisk in Peru."
$ IT WAS A BASILISK! $
"So, I killed one when I was 12, and you're forgetting I took care of that one too when your coward arse fled." Harry said looking at his snake in mock anger. The rest of the room looked on in awe or in the case of his mother livid.
"HARRY JAMES POTTER!" She screamed, instantly causing Harry to shrink in his seat. "You fought a basilisk?" She said every word carefully in her rising anger.
Harry tried to calm the situation, "Yes I fought A basilisk."
$ A BASILISK, there was 3. $
Rose looked startled, "3?"
Harry shrank even further as the glare from his alt. mother increased, Sirius laughed nervously, horrified at the life he led. The rest were just too astounded to respond.
Zephyr seeing this grew an evil smirk if you could call the snakes mouth movement a smirk, $ Please, that was an easy day. You should get him to tell you about the Egyptian god and his army of Mummies, or the Necromancer and his Draugr. My favorite was the invincible Golem that could copy magical creature abilities, that took 3 days to kill. $
Rose looked at her brother in awe as he motioned for her to keep quiet, unfortunately Lily's look turned to her daughter with the silent questioning, Rose paled and instantly spilled what Zephyr said.
"Traitor!" Harry muttered at Zephyr petulantly. The room looked at him in what could only be described as shock.
"Pup, your danger magnet sense got worse?" Sirius whined.
"It's not like I can blood well control the idiots of the world." He said weakly as his alt. mother's stare was now once more centered on him.
"We will talk about this later, young man." She said enunciating each word.
He scowled at her, "It's not your business Mrs. Potter, you're not my mother."
Lily felt like she got hit in the chest as his words hit her very soul, standing up in rage. "Now, you listen here! You might be an alternate version of my son but that doesn't mean you're not my son! If my son was in the same situation, I would want my counterpart to be his mother." James nodded at his wife's words.
Albus hoping to end this conversation coughed to get everyone's attention. "Now, Mr. Potter, you have a story for us?"
Sighing he ran his fingers through his hair, he frowned, he must have lost control of his morph without realizing it. He quickly shifted to his standard short length hair and covered up his scar.
Tonks eyes went wide at his actions, "Y-y-you're a metamorph!" She said astounded.
"Only a partial, I can only really change my hair and facial features." He said with a sigh.
Tonks looked at him incredulously, "There's no such thing is a partial metamorph, you either have the gift or you don't."
"Hmm, well I only discovered I had it 3 years ago when I took a bad curse that must have shattered a binding on my core."
Lily looked at him sadly, "We put a bind on our Harry's ability on his first birthday, he couldn't control it and was shifting unconsciously. We were going to remove it when he was older." She finished with a choked sob. James stood up and hugged his wife to him.
"Well, that answers my questions then, I never really knew why it was bound. I assumed it was Bumbledore fucking with me." Harry said looking at the headmaster who cringed at the name.
"Watch your language in front of your 14-year-old sister." Lily scolded; he merely raised his arms in defeat.
"Back to the discussion for which we have gathered then? I assure you Mr. Potter that whatever crimes my counterpart did to you was not my doing." Dumbledore said
Harry nodded his head at the aged headmaster before his features hardened, "I understand that sir, so that means your not planning on having Neville Longbottom die to remove his Horcrux."
Dumbledore's face paled.
Harry looked at Albus face and he glared at the old man, "No need to worry about it anymore, I'll take Longbottom to Gringotts they can have it removed."
"But the prophecy dear boy." Dumbledore got out before being interrupted
"FUCK THE PROPHECY! Even in my world you let that rule your actions as you let inaction rule you. Neither can Live while the other survives, you look at it too literally. Don't worry about the prophecy, I'll kill Riddle just as I did in my world, only this time I will drag him down while he screams." Harry glared at the man, Albus felt all 114 years of his life flash before his eyes as Death's aura emanated from Harry, causing the room to cringe in fear at the feeling of death emanating from his chosen. The shadows seemed to flicker with the power that The Master of Death was showcasing.
When the shadows receded Fleur asked, "What was that?"
Harry flinched when their eyes locked, "I'm The Master of Death." He stated simply.
"The Master of Death?" Rose asked, "What like the deathly hallows?"
"Yes." He nodded at his sister. Everyone's face looked at him in shock.
James looked at his son, a single tear in his eye. "You did it. You redeemed us."
Harry smiled at his father and nodded.
James let out a laugh of joy, Sirius looked at his godson in question, Harry started the story. "I assume everyone here knows the story of the three brothers?" Everyone in the room nodded at him, "Well, that story doesn't technically make one Master of Death, no one can Master Death after all. What uniting the three sacred objects of Death, or at the time of creation as he was called Pluto, better known as Hades. He gave each of his demigod sons an artifact each, and well they dishonored their father and cut a swath of death across the land. This displeased their father, the items were meant to balance the world not destroy it. The only one of his sons to not utilize his gift for destruction was the third brother, Ignotus, whom the Potters are the last descendant of. Ignotus didn't stop his brothers though, even with his father pleading with him to, which he easily could have done with his cloak. So, Hades cursed them all to never know life after death. When a son or daughter of Hades dies, they help their father with his kingdom, by cursing his sons and their descendants he stuck them in Asphodel, never to be with their family and to be trapped in eternal purgatory."
Harry paused as he gauged the reaction of his audience, they looked enthralled with the story, all except James who looked as if he had been told this story before. "Continuing on, Hades gave our family a way to redeem ourselves, if we united his artifacts in defense of the innocent, not wanting the power, then we would be granted the full demigod powers of his three sons and allow them and their descendants the ability to pass on into Elysium or to be given the choice to help their father again. By effectively uniting The Hallows I gained the demigod powers of my ancestors and a personal audience with Grandfather, at least that's what he had me call him. Anyway, that isn't important, I won't see him again until I pass on, not unless he calls for me. Besides the Wizarding World is littered with descendants of demigods, I have even heard rumors that there's plenty of demigods in the states. Honestly, I don't know though, from what I heard in my travels the gods of Olympus left for the states long ago, when their power waned over here."
"Demigod Powers?" James asked, he was curious to know what gifts Harry had been given.
"Well, Antioch had the ability to use the earth to his advantage, some say he could even summon hellfire, I haven't been able to though. Cadmus had the ability to recall the dead and make armies, the resurrection stone boosted his ability tenfold, I can only recall the dead with the resurrection stone, not that I like to use it, the dead should stay dead. Ignotus had the ability to interact and travel through shadows, that ability comes easy to me. Trust me shadow traveling is extremely useful, most places aren't warded for it, the only place I've ever been unable to shadow travel in was Hogwarts. It helps that it is more comfortable than apparating, or any other magical travel." He finished with a grin, Merlin he loved shadow traveling, not only was the distance longer, but it was far superior.
"So, your technically considered a demigod?" Tonks asked.
"Yeah, thank god I united the 3 after I was 16, otherwise I would have been included in a different prophecy." He finished with a shudder.
"Another one?" Sirius looked to Harry in mild amusement.
"Don't ask." Harry deadpanned.
"As enlightening as that tale is, it isn't the reason we are here." Dumbledore said.
Harry shrugged, "I guess you guys want to know my life story? I assume Sirius has talked about my life up until I was 15?"
The Potters, Tonks, and Dumbledore nodded. Tonks whispered into her girlfriend's ear that she would tell her later. Lily and James looked angry thinking about his early life with the Dursleys.
"Two months after you went through the veil Sirius, I was attacked at Privet Drive. My girlfriend died and I was dragged away by the order after I killed three death eaters." He finished Darkly
"Harry…"
"Not now or ever Sirius, I don't want to talk about her." He glared at the man. Sirius merely nodded as his family looked at him in sadness.
"Moving on, I trained relentlessly, I started dating again about 8 months later. It didn't work, I was still broken." He muttered, "Dumbledore started teaching me about Voldemort's past, I learned about his anchors. Dumbledore died and I continued his work with Ron, and Hermione's help. We spent the next year, our 7th year hunting down his anchors while he took control of the ministry and Hogwarts. The final battle culminated in May when we went to destroy one of his last anchors that was housed in the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts. I watched some of my best friends die, Tonks, Fred, and even my old family's friend Remus." Sirius looked at Harry in horror. Tonks looked sad that she was one of his best friends and she died on him.
"Tonks left behind her two-week old son, who was my godson. He was murdered a week later by death eaters who had escaped the battle." Harry looked murderous, "I hunted them down and tortured each one to death, it took them weeks to die." He spat. His family looked horrified, Tonks paled at the fact that an alternate son of hers was murdered for no reason, he was only a baby, what kind of monsters murder a child.
"Truthfully I blame Remus, he ran from Dora again, and like an idiot she chased him and died." Harry growled.
Sirius looked at his godson in anger, "He abandoned his family?"
"Yes, it wasn't the first time either. I should have expected it, he was always a coward. He never checked up on me when I lived with The Dursleys, he was supposedly my parent's best friend, but he left me in an abusive household because he was too much of a coward. He always uses the wolf as an excuse to get away from his responsibilities."
Sirius looked down ashamed, "I'm sorry pup, I abandoned you too."
"NO!" Harry shouted causing Sirius to look at him, "You did not abandon me, you made a stupid decision. It didn't help that Dumbledore knew you were innocent and allowed you to be carted off to Azkaban, the proof was in my parents will, which he sealed. He didn't want you to contest my placement at The Dursleys, he needed a malleable weapon."
Sirius looked at Dumbledore disgusted, before he and the Potters could rip into the headmaster Harry gave them a look conveying that he wasn't the same man who ruined his life.
"Back to the final battle, we destroyed his anchors leaving his snake Nagina and Me, we found Snape dying. With his dying breath he gave me memories that showed I was a horcrux and needed to die. So, I told Neville to kill the snake, and then I died." He said shaking his head, Sirius stood up and dragged his godson into a hug.
Harry pulled away, "You know being dead wasn't all that bad. I was given the choice to move on, or to go back and fight. Fighting was all I ever knew, so of course I came back. I wanted to kill Bellatrix because she took my angel from me, and I wanted Riddle dead to just end it."
With a shake of his head, he went on, "Sadly I couldn't get Bellatrix, Mrs. Weasley took her out before I got to her. Riddle possessed the Elder Wand, but I was its true owner, it couldn't fight me. His killing curse rebounded on itself, and he died. It was finally over, I was done, I won, but I also lost everything that mattered. I had no family, you were gone Sirius, my angel was gone. I was alone." He finished sadly.
Wiping his tears out of his eyes, "I didn't know what to do after I woke up, so I started hunting down the remnants of the Death Eaters. I heard about what they did to Andromeda and Teddy, and well I snapped. Gone was my mercy, I hunted them all down and killed them all painfully, I made Voldemort look merciful."
Sirius looked shocked before he shook his head, "Did you kill any innocents." Harry shook his head in the negative, "Then good, those bastards took our family, they deserved everything you gave them." Sirius finished resolutely.
"Tilly, bring us a bottle of firewhiskey and two glasses." Two glasses and a bottle of whiskey appeared on the table. Sirius poured out two glasses and handed one to Harry, "To our Dora, Andromeda, and little Teddy, taken from us to soon. May they have a better afterlife then the life they were given." They raised their glasses and drank it in one motion.
Sirius paused for a moment, "Pup this may not be your world, but we have a second chance here. We can live the life we should have had, no one we love will die again. Besides whom else would be the godfather to my kid?" Harry grinned at his godfather and enveloped him in a hug, feeling hopeful for the future.
Thank you for reading this chapter, next chapter should be uploaded in 2 to 3 weeks depending on my muse. An Unexpected Development will be delayed this week as I attempt to push through my writers block. I might just start writing chapter 3 of this instead.
