Chapter 7: A Broken Symbol is Better than Nothing

"...Questions?" Izuku finished his story and waited for a reaction. Dabi looked angry, Hitoshi uncomfortable and Tenko... furious.

"Why... why would someone do that!?" Tenko screamed "He...He took everything from you! I... I don't understand..."

Izuku smiled at his grandson and placed a hand on his shoulder "Tenko, we live in a cruel world full of cruel people. The four of us had seen it first handed. And I can't tell you why bad things happen; they just do."

"I..."

Izuku hugged Tenko "It is alright my boy. It is okay."

Someone knocked on the door and Hitoshi nodded "I'll go."

He opened the door and frowned seeing who it was. "What?"

"HELLO! I CAME HERE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE OTHER DAY!" All Might said and Hitoshi shrugged.

"Whatever. Anything else?"

"YES! I ACTUALLY WANTED TO TALK WITH YOUNG TENKO! IS HE- AH! IZUKU!"

Izuku was behind Hitoshi glaring at All Might and the Number 1 Hero seemed to shake under his red eyes "H-HOW ARE YOU, SENSEI? I WAS JUST ABOUT TO-"

Izuku tapped the side of the stomach of All Might and the hero puke blood and exploded in a cloud of smoke. The other people in the department watched in awe what happened.

"Gramps! What the hell!?" Tenko asked his granpa as he glared at Toshinori Yagi.

"What is going on?" Dabi asked, seeing the skeleton of a man wearing the oversized clothes of the Number 1 Hero.

Izuku grabbed a towel and threw it at Yagi "Clean yourself up and leave before someone sees what you really are." He said.

"Izuku, can I speak with Tenko." Yagi asked and Izuku narrowed his eyes "It is important."

"No. Because I know what you want to do."

"Izuku, you don't understand-"

"I do. And you need to leave."

Yagi frowned "It is important! Someone needs to have-" He stopped when Izuku pointed Casull to his temple.

"Go on. Try me." Izuku said "I don't care if you are the number 1 hero, or whatever is left of it, but don't think I am not pulling the trigger, if you even think of putting any of my boys with that damn curse."

"Gramps, calm down." Tenko said slowly and Hitoshi nodded.

"Let's hear him out. If he tries anything, you can just kick him out."

Dabi frowned "Fuck that. If Izuku doesn't want him to enter, I say let him to go fuck himself somewhere else."

Izuku glared at Yagi that glared back. He clicked his tongue and put Casull inside his coat. "You have 5 minutes. Then you are leaving."

Yagi nodded as he followed Izuku inside "Thank you."

As they were all sat inside, Tenko listened to what Yagi wanted. He wanted him to inherit One for All. The quirk that the man who saved his Gramps had. The quirk his grandmother had.

One of the quirks that destroyed the life of the man who saved him.

"No." Tenko said "I listened to what you wanted, and I gave you, my answer. Now please leave."

Yagi sighed disappointed "Can you think of it again? My time is running out and One for All needs-"

"Yagi," Izuku said and Yagi sighed and nodded.

"I understand. Have a nice day."

After Yagi left Dabi huffed "What an idiot."

"That he is." Izuku said and Tenko laid on the couch.

"Whatever. He is gone now."

Hitoshi starred at the door, and he had a question. Not to his family thought. "I'll go for a walk."

Izuku starred at him and nodded "Very well. Take care and don't do anything rash."

Hitoshi left the building and saw Yagi in his car. He knocked on the window and Yagi turned to him "Can we talk?"

Back in the department, Dabi went to Izuku "Hey boss, do you think he went after him?"

Tenko raised a brow "After All Might? Why would he do that?"

Izuku hummed "I can only imagine he did."

Dabi frowned "Should I-"

"No. Let's trust him." Izuku said "Besides, he can't have One for All right now. His body must be prepared. We just must be watching any weird conducts and intervene in time. Don't ask him about it either."

Dabi and Tenko nodded. Dabi went to see the window and saw how the car where Yagi arrived was still parked and frowned.

"You see Young Hitoshi; I am broken. I don't know how much time I can continue as All Might and One for All needs to continue... Sir Nighteye has a candidate I still haven't met but... Nana asked me to give it to Tenko." Yagi explained and Hitoshi nodded.

"I get that, but... what happened between her and Izuku?" Yagi smiled sadly.

"One for All... was killing her. Is still killing her somehow. Izuku had lived and will still live longer than anyone else. She knows how much he suffered, and she wanted to take a weight off him. But... she regrets it... more than anything else."

"So, by giving One for All to Tenko, was a way for her to reconnect with both him and Izuku." Hitoshi concluded and Yagi nodded.

"Indeed. It was selfish, but I did it anyways."

Hitoshi nodded "Hey; this... All for One guy... he was the one who made Izuku's life hell, right?" Yagi nodded "And is the big bad in the criminal world?" Yagi nodded "So; if we get rid of him, shouldn't there be no more big-time villains?"

Yagi chuckled "That is a naïve way to see it, but it will take time for villains to build such powerful network again."

Hitoshi nodded "I can do it." Yagi raised an eyebrow "I was born with a quirk not fit to be a hero, no matter what everyone says, I can't make it without it."

"I can One for All instead of Tenko."

Yagi starred at him and nodded "Meet me tomorrow at Dagobah Beach. We have a lot of work to do."

Hitoshi left the car and before he could enter the building, "How was the talk?" He flinched as Dabi asked that.

Hitoshi gulped "Don't rat me out. This is for a good cause."

Dabi frowned "You are getting in a mess kid, you know that?"

Hitoshi nodded "It will be worth." He gave Dabi a look "It will solve a lot of things. Everything wrong... I can solve it."

Dabi smirked and shook his head "Do you even know how to throw a punch?"

"I..."

"Figures... Look, Boss asked me to keep an eye on you, but I won't force you to stop. So here I will ask you, look at the heroes now,"

"And be better."

Hitoshi gave him a confused look "Endeavor, my dad, burned me. Be better than Endeavor. Be better than All Might. And I will have your back kid."

Hitoshi smiled "You are cool Dabi."

Dabi smirked "Call me Touya. Let's go, kid. They are waiting."
