Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told. We are back with the phoenix priestess arc. We are finally in what I would consider the prologue of the arc. We're getting into the mystery of the phoenix stones and who is the mysterious girl Éclair and her connection to the phoenix stones. Find out now on a fairy tail re-told
Last time on a fairy tail re-told
Natsu: nothing too bad has happened lately
Lucy: still, we should be ready; I don't want anything to happen. Can't we have peace for a while
Wendy: come on, Lucy, that's no fun
Lucy: you guys are insane
The sun had finally set in Magnolia as people started to leave the fairy pub. As the place started to close up for the night, most of the workers could be seen cleaning and turning off the lights around the building and going out inside. The only light that remained was the bar light as Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray, and Wendy stayed in the pub watching over Éclair. Lucy had brought in earlier as the girl, and Momon slowly ate the meal as Mira walked up to the pair with a drink in hand "heavy, you go."
"thank you," Éclair muttered.
"maybe she fainted earlier because she was hungry," Lucy asked
"that's the most likely scenario," Wendy said, "she just needed a nice warm meal."
"what with that big bird thing," Elfman asked
"it looks like her friend," Kinana muttered
"it looks like dinner," Droy muttered
"don't you dare," Jet told him
"thank you," Éclair said after clearing her throat, getting everyone's attention as Lucy went up to her.
"you should be all fixed up," Lucy said, trying to start a conversation
"Your help is appreciated, but I would have been fine without it," Éclair told her
Phoenix Priestess arc: Éclair
"Now, now," Momon said, "you know better than to say things like that to people" Momon shouted at her before turning, "thank you for helping us," he said, "We appreciate it," he smiled.
"no, it's fine," Lucy said
"I'm Momon, and this is my friend Éclair" he smiled. "I took her under my wing just a couple of years ago."
"you took her in" Jet and Droy screamed as Mira laughed
Lucy held out her hand as Momon shook it "it's nice to meet the both of you," she said "my name is Lucy," she said as Éclair stood up
"you are very kind," Éclair said, "come, Momon."
"Okay," Momon said as Carla watched them leave. Her mind started to flash as images of a monster appeared in her mind. She then saw a forest with a small lacrmia. What scared her the most was when she saw fire and a large stone creature emerging from the smoke. Its red eye glowed as it looked over the destruction as s large sphere appeared above it, then nothing. Looking at Éclair. She wondered
"you're going to a forest," Carla said, suddenly getting her attention "watch out. Great sadness awaits you there."
" a forest," Éclair muttered
'within the boundary forest.'
"right," Éclair muttered as she started to walk away "thank you." she said, "come, Momon."
"hold on," Lucy called as Éclair walked away.
[##Eclair's Memory##]
As Éclair walked through the town, her mind was aflutter. It had been years since a memory had struck her mind. Years since some semblance of her past had surfaced, it was comforting and scary to think that she had given up on finding out something about where she was going and why she had this life, but it looks like coming to this place did some good. She still hated that it came from a wizard, btu she would get over it just the quicker she was able to get out of the town "hey, Éclair, wait," a voice called. She turned back to see Lucy running up to her.
"what do you want," Éclair asked
"where are you going," Lucy asked
"the boundary forest," Éclair told her
"but that place is filled with dangerous monsters." Happy said, appearing next to Lucy, "why are you going there."
"I don't know," Éclair admitted, "but it's calling to me," Éclair sighed. "I have to go there to find out why."
"then let us come with you," Lucy said, getting a shocked look from Éclair" we can help you."
"I can't afford" she was stopped when Lucy shook her head
"no, just being nice," Lucy said "you don't have to pay us, btu I want to go with you," Lucy said. "I can't willingly let someone go to the boundary forest by themselves"
"I don't need help," Éclair said "magic brings nothing but sorrow," she whispered
"but Éclair," Momon said
"you think magic brings sorrow," Lucy asked, "but I know it can bring joy," Lucy said. Looking back, she could see her friends running to catch up to her "please let me come with you; I'm sure that I can show that to you."
"we'll come to," Erza called as she walked up to them
"yeah," Natsu said, "traveling can be fun when you're with people" Natsu smiled
"eh, we got nothing better to do," Gray said
"yeah," Wendy added, "it sounds like fun."
Momon smiled at Éclair, who looked away "well, it would be nice to have company on this trip," he told her. She let out a sigh as he smiled at her. "I say we let them come," he said as she shook her head
the next day; the group was on a train, and as per usual with any mode of transportation, Natsu and Wendy had fallen over due to their motion sickness. As people could hear the pair's groans, Gray backed up "hey man, watch out," he shouted "try not to get any on my boots," he said
"Only three more hours left," Happy said
"I don't think I can make it," Wendy groaned from the other side of the train "why did we have to take a train."
"Just grin and bear it," Erza said, "don't worry, we'll be in Rose garden station soon."
"my tummy hates me," Natsu groaned.
"so, Éclair," Lucy asked, "where do you come from."
"I don't know," Éclair muttered. "I have no memory of my past," she then looked at Lucy, "but I do remember hating wizards," she said, "espically the nosy kind," she said as Lucy huffed and looked away.
"shame on you," Momon told her "despite her lack of social cues, she's a good person," Momon told her, "please forgive her."
"Yeah, she's great," Lucy said, looking away.
"I don't care," Wendy groaned. "I just want to get off the train" the group then fell silent as Éclair stared longingly out the window. Lucy let her gaze fall on her again. The only sounds remaining were the whimpers and cries of her two teammates. As Lucy sighed, a part of her felt some pity for the girl. She could only imagine what she went through that would cause her to have a loss of memory like that.
[##Rose Garden, Town Of Magic##]
The train would come to a stop as the group got off the train checking their bags and making sure that they had Natsu and Wendy with them as they were on the ground "good," Erza said as the group turned and started to look through the city Rose garden is a city located in the southern part of Fiore it is a bright-colored city overflowing with magic, where practically every establishment uses magic and sells magic items. From restaurants that poof meals to the table, theme parks with floating carnival rides, and streets filled with market stalls that use magic to present their products, such as ice cream shaped like a snowman and teapot that pours into six teacups. Several armory stores sell weapons and armor.
Besides the cable car trains, residents regularly fly on magic brooms and carpets as a mode of transportation. There are small floating lanterns and pillars throughout the town with large cyan-colored Lacrimas at the top that light up at night. Several floating lights form a ring around the city at the city exterior.
"So where to first," Erza asked as they walked the streets. She definitely was stopping by some armor shops later.
"food," Natsu and Wendy groaned.
"I thought you two would say that," Lucy said as she pulled something out, "so I found this nice little restaurant that we could go to before we start exploring," Lucy explained "a restaurant called delideli Restaurant," Lucy said
"you know how expensive that place is," Gray asked.
"Yeah, but look at this," Lucy said, "if you can eat forty-two straight meals in a row, you can have your dinner free" everyone stopped as they looked to Natsu and Wendy, who, in fact, could eat double that amount without the motion sickness "so you guys ready to get a free meal."
"Aye, sir"
Moments later, the sounds of mulled eating as Natsu and Wendy dug into their food both had no idea why they were getting so much food. As they looked up, seeing their friends still looking over the menu, a swell of pity came over them "you guys sure you don't want anything," they asked to which the group shook their heads, shrugging it off. They went back to their meals as they looked over the menu, thinking about what they were going to get after Natsu, and Wendy finished.
"Are you sure this is, okay?" Éclair asked
"yes, it's fine," Lucy said as Natsu and Wendy started together with a crowd as a few chefs came to see what was going on. No one in the history of this restaurant had ever managed to get this far but look like anything was possible as Natsu and Wendy wiped their mouths, looking over at them.
"can we have some more," they asked as everyone fell over. Not only had they eaten forty-two straight meals, but they were also still hungry.
"Hey, we're ready to order," Lucy said as Natsu and Wendy ordered another forty-two-course meal. The group ate as the head chef came out to congratulate the two on their victory. They had just finished their meal with Happy joining in because he was just a hungry "hey, you wouldn't happen to have anything bigger back there" Lucy asked in a flash and poof of smoke as they gathered several tables together as large fish was placed on them as Natsu and Wendy looked with stars in their eyes.
"Please, no one has ever managed to," the head chef started.
"umm, sir," another chef said as he looked over to see Natsu and Wendy sprawled out on the table, nothing but a few bones left of the fish. he looked in shock as Lucy, Gray, and Erza broke out into a laugh even Momon started laughing as Éclair looked more confused than anything but as she saw them laugh as Wendy and Natsu let out loud burps she felt a smile tug on her face.
'it's been years,' she thought to herself. 'I almost forgot what it was like to be around others' before long she felt something build up in her chest as she looked at Momon who was still laughing she felt it come she tried to push it down, but she couldn't before long she was laughing with them as well it felt good. good to laugh
"Wendy, what have I told you about that" Carla screamed
"Sorry," Wendy said, "but my stomach has never been so happy."
Lucy turned and noticed Éclair's smile "you know you have a beautiful smile," she said, getting her attention as she looked away, a rose tint decorating her face. It was hard to stop. A part of her had forgotten how good it felt to smile. Her mind went back to the phoenix stone as he looked back as a waiter brought her food to her.
"thank you," Éclair said as she started to eat as a chef looked at Momon, it made her nervous, but she then noticed that Erza glared at the chef, causing him to run away she smiled as she nodded. Going back to her meal, 'you shouldn't be eating this,' the voice in her head said. Still, she ignored 'you're falling into that trap again' Éclair ignored it again as she let herself take a bite of her food it was warm as a smile found a way to her face
after the group had finished their meals, they went into the city, looking around, seeing flying carpets people using magic to pour drinks "what do you say before we check-in? We have some fun," Erza said
"Yeah, that sounds good," Natsu said
[##Rose Garden, Town Of Magic##]
Natsu and Wendy found themselves at a small amusement park. Wendy was trying to win at the shooting game though she kept missing as Natsu chuckled at her constant failures. getting angry, Wendy puffed her cheeks before shooting a small blast taking out one of the dolls, and Natsu hit her on the head as the merchant scolded her as well as Wendy looked down in shame later, the duo was at a small play where Carla and Happy wanted to see as they clapped along they looked to see there exceed pals dancing in the middle of the crowd which was enough to get a smile out of the pair earlier they had been forced to take pictures for the restaurant having them put on their wall as the glutton king and queen
Erza had made her way to an armor shop. She had been looking to add something to her armory of weapons though as she looked around, nothing appeased her. She already had most of the armor there, and some of it was just too much. Why would she need steel armor when she had her adamantine armor? Though a few weapons she found lying around were excellent, she ended up settling on a rapier. It had an ideal weight as well. She smiled as he turned to the shopkeep, smiling as she placed some jewels on the table.
"if only I could find some armor," Erza muttered as she left. Though she had to admit that Samurai-looking armor looked nice, she would have to drag Natsu here and have him pay for it because she couldn't afford it. He did owe her right now. After all, they needed all the armor she could get her hands on. She stopped as a large blush came to her face 'it's perfect' she thought to herself as she looked at a beautiful wedding dress instantly going inside, she made the purchase without hesitation as she added it to her requip section in the chest that she had labeled dress a large grin on her face as she walked away.
Natsu and Wendy saw the exchange looking at each other, wondering why on earthland would Erza be buying a wedding dress.
Gray smiled as he walked through the streets, his jacket long gone as he took in the area before coming to a small ramp. Looking over the town, he noticed that people had started to back away from him before running away 'what's with them' he thought as an officer came up to him. He looked down 'aw damn it' once again, he had stripped down to his underwear, and he wasn't in magnolia where they would just tell him, so he was dragged off.
"This is embarrassing," Gray muttered as he left with the officer. It had been a while since an officer had brought him to a station for his stripping. He also knew that this would be a charge for public indecency, which he hated but couldn't do anything about 'damn stripping habit, ' he said as he had to hear the lecture once again.
"keeping your clothes on is important."
"no one wants to see you in your underwear."
'not even shirotsume was this brutal,"' Gray thought to himself.
Having decided to stay with Éclair, Lucy offered the girl some ice cream, which she politely declined as she continued forward as Lucy followed her taking note of dad and daughter. It brought a smile to her face, but she didn't notice that Éclair had caught the look she had given them. "I should thank you," Éclair muttered. "I never expected a guild would be willing to."
"we're not a guild," Lucy corrected "she looked at her with a smile on her face." we're family," Lucy said, a smile on her face though part of Éclair screamed her she could see right through hit the pain in her eyes.
'almost like mine.'
Later as the group all converged on the hill hotel where they would be staying for the night to begin their track to the boundary forest in the morning, "well, Erza looks like she's in a good mood," Gray muttered.
"It might have a lot to do with the wedding dress she bought," Wendy said
"what" everyone screamed
"problem," Erza asked
"no," everyone told her as she shrugged
"We would like our room keys, please."
Lucy leaned back against the shower wall. Her mind was utterly on Éclair and what she was and why she needed to go to a place like boundary forest 'what's the deal with this girl' Lucy said as she walked out, seeing Éclair stare out the window. "I'm all done," Lucy told her as Éclair looked back "is everything okay."
"I haven't laughed like that in so long," Éclair muttered, getting Luc's attention. "I haven't felt joy like this," she looked at Momon, "ever since I met Momon," she smiled "you all seem so happy," she started, "but when I look at your eyes," she said, looking at Lucy, "I can see your sadness," she said, "I can see your pain."
"what do you mean by that" Lucy asked
"your eyes," Éclair said "your eyes serve as a window to your past," she said. "I never thought that I would see them in a magic user," she admitted, "but you and yr0ou siblings all seem so happy."
"siblings," Lucy asked.
"you said the others were your family," Éclair said

"right," Lucy said, "I say we're family, but" Lucy looked away "none of us are blood-related," Lucy said. "I was once the heiress to a proud family, but I was never happy there, so I was forced to run away," Lucy said. "Gray comes from Isvan. A demon destroyed his hometown, and his master sacrificed herself to save his life; Erza never had a place to belong; as far back as she remembers, she was raised in an orphanage, she never truly had a place to call home," Lucy said "and as for Natsu, Happy, Wendy, and Carla well there past is complicated," Lucy told her "but in the end, we all ended up together" Lucy laughed "we ended up filling the hole that we never knew that we needed" Éclair had gone silent as she looked at Momon remembering how the two meet.
"I think I understand," Éclair said when a shadow appeared above them as someone emerged from the roof. His face was hidden behind a white mask with black eye holes and red lines above the eyes.
He wears a dark gray hooded cloak which is fastened just below the collar and hides most of his body. He wears gray trousers and boots under the lower half of his cloak. "what."
"had over the phoenix stone," he said, "or I, Chase, will end your life."
"get back, Éclair" Lucy screamed as she jumped up.
"the calm simplicity of a captive," Chase asked, "or the thrill of prey," he asked, "choose now."
"what, no" Lucy screamed
"I'm not here for you," Chase told her
"run now," Lucy said as she pushed Éclair to the balcony "Natsu," she screamed, hoping that he heard her as she and Éclair ran through the streets as Chase ran after them, throwing knives, "so you know what he wants," Lucy asked.
"above us," Momon shouted. as they ran down an ally, hoping to escape as Chase threw more knives, sending them tumbling over the side of a ledge landing on a small tent
"Éclair, Lucy, are you okay" Momon shouted. "come on talk to me please"
Lucy and Éclair both let out groans as they lay on the ground standing up the pair looked around "yeah Momon" Lucy sid "we're fine" above Chase had landedon the railgin smiling with his prey insight
"go forth and claim her blood," Chase said "oh, blade of mine," he screamed as he ran down.
"get back," Lucy shouted as Natsu jumped in the way, trying to kick Chase, who jumped down as he and Gray landed in front of them. "Natsu, Gray"

"you two okay," Natsu asked
"who's your friend Lucy," Gray asked as Chase backed up, looking around
"knowing will not help you," he said, "fairy tail" he then vanished as Natsu and Gray gave chase as he ran through the streets running through teammates. As Gray tried to keep up, Chase jumped up, kicking him in the stomach as Natsu caught up
"you bastard," Natsu screamed as he tried to punch him
"come forth, my starving claws," Chase said, "and feed," he shouted as he rushed him as they clashed. Natsu jumped out of the way of his strikes as he jumped back, going up the side of a building
"up we go," Gray shouted as he and Natsu jumped up the side of the building. As they reached the top, they saw Chase standing there, his cape blowing in the wind "you're going to wish you kept running," Gray shouted as Chase remained unfazed. He glared at them, a look of familiarity coming over him
"Until we meet again," he said as he turned into a shadow, "fairy tail" as he completely vanished as Natsu and Gray ran to where he was
'who was that' both asked as they looked into the night sky

One of Dyst's men has made their move and seems to have recognized who Natsu and Gray are. Will they be able to get the phoenix stone from Éclair? Will she open up to fairy tail about her plight and allow them to help her. find out next time on a fairy tail re-told
