Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told; the mystery of the phoenix stones continues as our heroes are now faced with the task of learning their purpose. With the revelation of Éclair's past coming to light, they have learned there is more at stake than they realize.
Last time on a fairy tail re-told
Éclair," a voice called an elderly man, his face wrinkled and thin with age. He has gray hair and is bald on top of his head. He wears oval-rimmed glasses. he smiled as he looked at Éclair. "Éclair, if these words are reaching your ears, child, then what they told me was true," he smiled, "many people came here searching for you, survivors of fire village" he looked away. "members of fire village told me of the terrible event that transpired there; I was overjoyed when I heard you had survived, btu when I think of your fate" he then let out a slight cough "oh, my sweet Éclair" he then reached out a hand almost as if he was trying to touch her "the people of fire village needed you to be their maiden, and I was given the task of dispelling the phoenix stones."
"dispel magic," Éclair muttered, "nullification."
"There is no doubt that you are a spectacular maiden," Kalard said. "I have finally completed my dispel magic," he said, "but I fear that I will not have the chance to sue it" he then let out another slight cough. "I have fallen ill; I will hold on to my life for as long as possible," he sighed, "but if you see this, my sweet Éclair."
"he's already gone," Wendy whispered as a sad look grew on Carla's face "we're too late."
"my darling Éclair, my sweet and beloved daughter,"
Phoenix Priestess arc: Carbuncle
The air was silent as Erza and Wendy leaned against the outside of the ruins as Natsu and Gray came from the bottom of the place coming up to the pair "no dice," Gray said, "We look through every book we could find down there, and there was nothing about no dispel magic" he said as Erza looked back in the distance, they could see Éclair admiring the stone.
"it's the stone that has my main concern," Erza admitted. "Kalard made a point of mentioning," she said, "there must be something about the spell that the people of fire village cast on it," she said, "and why they would need to dispel it."
"that tells me it was troublesome," Carla said
"and most definitely malevolent," Natsu finished
[##The Firebird's Dance##]
Lucy and Momon watched as Éclair started her face holding the stone to the sky. Both were sad for her to find out that her father was gone but not being able to be there in his final moments. Lucy couldn't imagine the pain or what was going through her head as she saw tears coming from her face as she fell to the ground as Momon flew to her, landing on her lap as Lucy approached her. "I know how you feel," Lucy muttered. "I lost my father not long ago," she said as she brought her in for a hug" she smiled, "he wanted you to find happiness, and you did."
"Lucy," Éclair muttered, "that was his final wish" she smiled as the tears finally came
later as the group started a small fire, Éclair sat down with them. "I want to make a special request to you, fairy tail," she asked, "my father spent his final days trying to end the curse of the phoenix stone," she looked to the ground, "and I want to complete his work."
"we'd be happy to accept," Erza said
"we'd be glad to," Natsu said
"Aye, sir," Happy said
"We have paid the wretched toll of many lost lives, but the phoenix has been sealed away; the twin phoenix stones are a testament to this act, and it's because of them we can have true peace' Macao frowned as he overlooked the stone "can't say that it looks that dangerous," Macao said as he handed back to Éclair "if anything it might be the seal itself" he explained.
"so, if we break the seal, nothing bad will happen," Lucy asked.
"Not that I can tell," Macao told her. "But I would take caution," he explained "never seen a stone like this before, nor have I seen a seal this complex" he sighed "whatever the people of fire village were trying to seal away, they didn't want it to get out" he looked at the stone "Mavis might know more than I do on the subject," he told them as he handed Éclair the stone back as he placed it back on the necklace before hiding back in her shirt.
"Alright," Lucy said, "what do you think they were trying to seal away."
"I'm sorry, but I don't remember," Éclair told her as Natsu walked up to Mira, who turned to greet him.
"so, sis, any clue to when Mavis will get back," Natsu asked
"I sent her a message yesterday." Mira said, "but no idea when she'll get back" she looked at Éclair, "so we need to find a way to dispel the magic in the stone," she asked
"yeah," Natsu told her, "and I hoped that Mavis might know something."
"We won't know until she gets back," Mira said, "did Kalard's notes tell you anything."
"no," Natsu told her, "whatever magic he used is long gone." Natsu said, "and nothing else we can do to destroy them either."
"you tried to break it, didn't you," Mira asked, holding back a laugh
"no, I did not," he shouted as Mira continued Laughing "it was Wendy's idea."
"no, it wasn't," Wendy shouted.
"smooth," Kinana laughed at her friend. Wendy grumbled something as she looked away. It didn't sound like a bad idea at the time, and hey, if you need to do something, break it, but what did she know? Not like there was anything else they could do
"while Natsu and Wendy's attempt to break the stone was," Carla looked away, "misguided," she said as her friend glared at her, "we need to think of a way to dispel the stones as we still don't know what the phoenix stones have sealed away," Carla said "we don't want to release whatever power lies in them accidentally," she said this power scared her there were still too many unknowns that went into what the stones where
"it's only half," Natsu said, "so I would assume that we would need both to unleash whatever terror is inside," Natsu said, "so we should be fine in that regard."
"speaking of the other half," Erza asked as she faced Éclair, "did you ever learn what happened to it," she said, "Is there another maiden with the other half of the stone."
"I'm not sure," Éclair muttered. "I think it was stolen in a raid by a country called Veronica."
"I know them." Happy said, "there this country just north of Fiore," he said, "there super tiny."
"what could they want with the stone," Carla asked. They could not answer the question as a large explosion broke, creating a large cloud of Smoke as the building shook.

"is everyone okay," Erza asked as the Smoke cleared. Natsu stood up, having grabbed both Lucy and Éclair as Erza looked at him; looking back, she could see that Elfman was standing over Mira and Miko. Wendy grabbed Cana and Kinana, and Jet and Droy had managed to protect Levy from getting crushed as she looked around. The place was in ruins again as she turned as Dyst, Coordinator, Ink, Canon, and Smoke "who the hell are you" Erza screamed. as Dyst walked forward as Natsu stood in front of Lucy and Éclair
"We are Carbuncle," Dyst told her, "the creatures that lurk in the shadows," he smiled "you may call me Dyst," he screamed as he used his magic to send Natsu into the wall.
"Natsu" Lucy screamed.
"oh no," Wendy shouted as she jumped up "take this" she was stopped when Smoke jumped up, kicking her in the hut "what the" Wendy asked as she jumped away.
"look like I finally get to meet the sky maiden," she laughed "now die {smoke drakon: breath}" she screamed, sending Wendy to the ground.
"you bastard," gray shouted.
"Hey, pretty boy," Canon shouted as he fired his gun as Gray made an ice shield, but the bullets exploded on impact with the ice creating a large explosion and sending him into a wall.
"Gray" Juvia screamed as Ink jumped in front of her "get out of my way {water: whip}" she screamed as Ink dodged to the side, a smile on her face. Juvia stopped, pain coursing through her body "no, not now." as Ink blasted her with her magic
"look like the element four were all talk," she laughed. "I thought they called you Juvia of the great sea look like that was nothing more than falsehood," she screamed.
"get back," Mira screamed as she jumped as Coordinator jumped in, raising her hand; Mira changed back into her black dress before landing on the ground, "what dispel magic."
"get back, Lucy; you need to keep Éclair safe," Erza called as she changed into her black wing armor, only for Coordinator to dispel her attack as Erza landed.
"We meet at last. Titania," Coordinator said, "now it's time I bring you to your knees."
'damn it,' Erza said in her head as Coordinator kicked her in the stomach, sending her into a wall.
"there too strong," Jet muttered.
"Hey Jet, you gotta go and find Mavis," Droy told him
"But what about Levy" Jet asked
"just take her somewhere safe on your way," Droy said
"oh yeah," Levy was about to object but was too slow as she and Jet were already gone as the members of Carbuncle regrouped
"there you are," Dyst said as he raised everyone from the ground as Chase appeared, grabbing Éclair "now begone," he screamed as he sent everyone to the walls of the pub
"no, Éclair," Lucy screamed as Natsu busted from the rubble Dyst smiled
"Take this," he shouted as he charged. As Dyst, he created a wall and crushed Natsu with it creating a shockwave sending everyone back
"no Lucy, Momon," Éclair muttered as Carbuncle left
"what do you do with the stones," Éclair asked as they left "tell me."
"that is none of your concern," Dyst told her. He smiled "you remember all those years ago when you tried to tell me about life and death," he said as a shocked look grew on Éclair's face "well, it's safe to say I think I found my way. To live forever."
"you," Éclair whispered, "you can't."
"my dream will come true," he said, "and you are helpless to stop me."
"no," Éclair begged, "you can't."
"We can," Dyst said, "and we will" he smiled as that conversation played in his head again after all these years.
Flashback
"my ferret, garnet," Dyst cried "my ferret died," he said "please can you help him," he asked, "please can you bring him back from the dead," he begged for years people told him that magic could help anyone that it can bring him happiness.
"Sorry, but" Éclair cringed. Her mind started to hurt as she shook her head, "but I'm not a wizard," she told Dyst as he backed up "even so, there is not a magic alive that could bring your friend back to life," she said "I'm sorry" she smiled "I'm sure Garnet was glad to be loved by you."
"I'm going to die one day too," Dyst asked, "just like Garnet." tears appeared on his face as Éclair nodded her head.
"that is why we must live our lives to the fullest," Éclair admitted, "so we have no regrets when we meet our end." she told him in the hopes that he would understand " a life of immortality. Would bring you nothing but misery."
"No," Dyst shouted. "I want to live forever and ever," he screamed as he ran away Éclair sighed. Such was life. She guessed as Dyst ran out of the tent, tears on his face as he looked at his dead friend. 'I'm sorry, garnet,' he whispered. "I'm so sorry, Garnet."
End Flashback
"so long ago, you told me that we are all meant to die," he smiled, "but I have just found a way to live forever," he smiled, "and to think you had the answer the whole time."
"Dyst," Ink called as she landed, "it's time for us to leave."
"right," Dyst said, "don't expect your friends from fairy tail are coming," he smiled, "for the wizards who bested the grand magic games, I was expecting more of a challenge."
"They'll come back," Smoke said, "and I'm looking forward to it."
"No," Lucy cried, "she needed me," she whispered as tears fell down her face "she needed me, and I wasn't able to help her" after the group had left, everyone started to lick their wounds. Wendy got started healing the injured as Natsu sat down next to her, seething he was as he slammed his fist into the table.
"not only did they destroy our home," he growled out, "but they took one of our friends," he growled as he looked up, his mind going back to Dyst his telepathy magic was strong "those guys are tough," he whispered.
"yeah," Wendy said as she looked herself over, "not to mention their teamwork" she sighed. her mind went to the drakon slayer that attacked her. 'Meredy does suck at genocide,' she thought to herself, 'not to mention that Smoke was strong.
"I can't believe we got our butts kicked like that," Gray said
"so, what," Natsu said, "we need to get back up," he said, "they took our friend Éclair, and no telling what they're planning."
"do you think they work for Veronica," Happy asked
"I gotta save her," Momon said, "she needs me."
"you will," Happy said, "but right now, you need rest."
"They gave us a beating we won't soon forget," a voice called. Everyone turned to see Mavis and Gajeel standing at the door "but if they think that we are just going to roll over and let them win," she started, "they have another thing coming."
