Cream smiled as he sat in front of a mirror. Veronica's celebration would begin soon. He looked away, thinking of the phoenix stone, before a smile came to his face "to think that this face will last forevermore," he laughed. "I wonder how Dyst is faring," he asked aloud as a guard came up to him "oh yes, I take it you have good news."
"yes," the guard said, "Dyst has sent word that they captured the girl," he said, "they are on their way now."
"good," Cream said, "now begin preparations now the time has come to unleash the power of phoenix stone" he smiled, "the time has come for us to rise to the prominence that we so rightly deserve," he screamed. "I don't want a thing to get in my way, so be sure that we have no loose ends."
"Yes, Duke Cream."
Phoenix Priestess arc: Bird of Fire
Mavis let out a sigh as she looked over the ruins of the pub, which were not too much damaged and easy to rebuild again. She was glad that no one was killed during the assault. She looked as Natsu, Erza, and Mira ran up to her "forgive us, master," Erza said, "we were unable to protect the fairy pub from them," she said, "and we failed at protecting Éclair as well."
"it's no matter," Mavis said "your lives are more valuable to me than this place" she smiled at her, "now we need to get ready."
"Mavis," Droy asked, "did Jet find you."
"was he supposed to," she asked, much to his shock as everyone realized that Jet was currently running to Era to bring Mavis back to the pub to help everyone in the fight "in any case, you kids come with me to the basement," she said, "I think I have the information that we need to understand all that going on right now fully."
Moments later, fairy tail was in the basement with Mavis as Lily and Gajeel began to explain everything that was going on "the magic council has detected strange power recently," Lily started, "and master Makarov asked. Us to investigate, that investigation led us to Veronica."
"Éclair told us about that place," Happy said
"she said that they were the ones who stole the other half of the phoenix stone," Gray finished.
"We were attacked by a group called Carbuncle," Lily told them "there were mercenaries. We overheard them talking about getting a large amount of money for kidnapping a girl."
"We also heard that Veronica is throwing a four-hundredth birthday party tomorrow," Gajeel said, "and Duke Cream will create some fireworks by joining the stones together."
"what will happen then," Erza asked.
"there's an old legend," Lily said, "that the two stones will unleash a powerful phoenix once joined together."
"and as a thank you present; the phoenix will grant whoever released it from its eternal prison immortality. " Gajeel said
"immortality," Natsu asked.
"yeah," Gajeel said, "and you can bet that they also plan on using the phoenix to extend their will."
"when Fire village sealed away the stones all those years ago," Mavis started, "countless lives were lost; I can't imagine what havoc that demon would create were it unleashed on the world today," she sighed. "I take it that's why Kalard was waiting for your friend; all we need to do is dispel the magic on one of the stones to keep that beast from ever being set free."
"if Duke cream gets the stones, not only will he have the power of the phoenix," Gajeel said, "but it could very well be the end of the world as we know it," Gajeel said, "that brat probably has world domination on the mind, not to mention what the phoenix will do when its unleashed."
"We can't let that happen," Natsu screamed.
"Please let me go," Lucy said "she was crying, so I held her; she was shaking so much that I started to," Lucy whispered, "this isn't just about the phoenix stone. this is about freeing Éclair from her burden."

"I was hoping you kids would feel that way," Mavis said "as it stands, we have no choice but to move without the council's approval, not that we needed it," Mavis said, "as solo wizards, we are freer to travel around the continent and can be more flexible with the rules that are in place." she said "Natsu you and your team right now are our best chance at getting in and out, take Juvia Lily and Gajeel with you as well," Mavis said, "Veronica may be a small country, but we don't want to run the risk of causing a war."
"you got it," Natsu said, "but what about Mira."
"I need her for something else," Mavis said. "I will return and inform Makarov and everyone else of everything we've learned," Mavis sighed. "Godspeed, everyone."
"right"
In the country of Veronica, Cream smiled as he walked up to the cell that Éclair was in; he smiled as he removed half of the phoenix stone from its necklace before tossing it at her "what a fitting anniversary gift," he said, "wouldn't you say."
"Please, you have to listen to me," Éclair shouted, "you cannot receive the phoenix man cannot control its destructive power."
"I can do whatever I please," Cream told her, leaning in front of her as Éclair head-butted him in the nose, causing blood to come from his nose as he slashed her with a knife "now you listen to me, I will repay you for your troubles by ending your miserable life" Cream shouted "you have till tomorrow," he said as he left the room Dyst waiting for him "to think she would strike me."
"her friends will try to fetch her," Dyst said. "I will have my men at the ready"
"See that you do."
"you mean to tell us the legend of the phoenix stones is real," Org asked
"yes," Makarov said, "and the phoenix's rebirth and the power of eternal life," Makarov said, "the prince of Veronica will use all these in his bid to conquer Fiore," Makarov said, "and maybe even beyond"
"he doesn't have the resources to plan such an attack." a member shouted,
"which is why he's resorting to drastic measures such as the phoenix," Makarov called, "we need to act quickly."
"what do you say we do," Doma asked "we can't just attack a small nation," Doma said in the stands above them. Mavis sighed. She knew this was going to happen.

"I take it your children have already moved," a voice called. She turned to see Anna approaching her "you know I like fairy tails style, but I can't help but feel it a little reckless."
"I don't think we've met," Mavis told her. A part of her wondered if this was the person that attacked her children on the third day of the grand magic games. 'I wonder what her interest in Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy is'
"Not officially," Anna told her "is it true the phoenix stones have been found."
"yes," Mavis, "might I ask what you know," she asked as she handed her a book "what's this"
"ask Riana about the sacred arrow," she told her "if what you told me is true, Kalard's magic is the only thing that can stop this demon," she said, "while he may have passed, his magic has since been entrusted to the magic council."
"you seem well informed," Mavis said
"in this world, you have to be," Anna said as she left. 'I would die before I let any harm come to them,' she thought.
"you know Natsu and Wendy are very curious about you," Mavis asked "think that you have some connection to their dragons," she said. The shocked reaction was all she needed. A smile formed on her face "however, I think there merely being overdramatic," Mavis said as Anna relaxed.
"of course," Anna said as she turned to leave. "good luck," she said as she vanished as Mavis let out a sigh.
"Why does that remind me of Mystogen." Mavis thought to herself.
Drums played in the streets as night had fallen over the country of Veronica as. People started to dance in the streets, for today was the day Veronica was born. As such, it led to the people enjoying parades. Even duke cream said he had a special event planned to make these four hundred years a memorable one
as the knights were getting ready for what they assumed would be an attack, they looked over to see the members of Carbuncle also getting ready "damn those outsiders," one muttered, "trying to get in favor with his grace."
"by the sacred blood of antiquity, I ordered thee to stagger forth, open, and reveal thyself," Cream said as he smiled as the doors opened, revealing the other half of the phoenix stone
on the outskirts of the city, fairy tail had arrived. Looking in the distance, they could see the city. As Natsu took off his bandages, he looked to Lucy, who nodded with him "just hold on a little longer Éclair, we're coming," Lucy said as they got ready to attack
[##Éclair, Priestess of Fate##]
Éclair, for as long as she could remember, had walked this road alone. People in her life would come and go while she remained; time seemed to lose all meaning as she went on about her life; as she went, she started growing more bitter and felt more alone. Why did this happen? Who was she? Why was she here? What was her purpose? Then there was the stone. It was part of her, and she had to protect it to keep it safe. Yet, she never understood why the miles of graves behind him started to become heavy so much that he pushed everyone away, then she met them, she didn't know how but there so warm. Yet, they bear the same sadness, but they can laugh and smile in the end. A part of her was envious of that, but at the same time, in the short time she knew them, they made it feel like she had known them her whole life. A part of her wondered if they would let her be a part of their family. but that could never be because of who she was
'no, Éclair, your life is far too tender; life is not yet through with you.'
A bottle fell to the ground.
Éclair said as she looked up and saw that statue. It was still there. A smile formed on her face as she was moved forward "now I get it," she smiled. "I've come full circle," she smiled.
"my end is at my beginning."
a group of guards stood at the gates, smiling and laughing as they turned to see someone in the distance "who goes there, the gates closed for the night."
"we're fairy tail, and we say it's open," Gray screamed as h fired a shot of Ice at the gate as Natsu jumped over him.
"you better get out of our way," he screamed as he blasted the gate down as he and his friends rushed inside.
"Now listen," Erza said, "our mission is to find Éclair and bring her to safety," Erza told everyone "we need to be quick and try to prevent the prince from joining the stones together," she said
"right" everyone shouted
"your majesty," a guard shouted
"fear not," Cream said "my lapdogs will do all the barking as well as biting"
Natsu Happy and Momon flew through the streets. The group had decided to split up to seem less suspicious Dyst landed on the ground letting out a blast sending Natsu to the ground. He smiled as he walked up to Natsu "we meet again, Salamander" he smiled. "I was hoping that you would find your way here."
"you again," Natsu said as he tried to stand up "you gave me a pretty good pounding last time," he smiled, "so I need to return the favor."
"good," Dyst said, "makes it all the more fun when I kill you."
Erza jumped on the roofs before a small slice narrowly missed her head as she turned to see Coordinator having requipped into what appeared to be scythe armor. It was both red and gold. She smiled as she looked at Erza. "I wa shopping; I would find you," she smiled. "I wanted to tell you something your taste in clothing is terrible."
"Really," Erza asked. "I was going to tell you the same thing," Erza said as she changed into her flame empress armor "now stand and fight," she screamed as she and Coordinator clashed.
"Everyone follows me," Wendy said as she came to a stop "so much for that idea," Wendy said as Lily shifted to his battle mode.
"I thought we'd be able to fool them into thinking that it was just two girls and their cats," Lily said "looks like we have to fight"
"I needed a good brawl," Wendy said, "you ready, Lucy."
"right," Lucy said when Wendy pushed her out of the way. Wendy landed on the ground as Steam landed across from her "Wendy," she screamed.
"go," Wendy said "let me and Lily handle this," she said, "looking back to her," you gotta go save Éclair."
"right" Lucy screamed.
"so, you want to take me on by yourself," Smoke asked "how bold," she said as Steam started to surround her. "I am a smoke drakon," she said, "and I've wanted to fight you for a long time, sky maiden," she said
"yeah," Wendy said, "I needed a reason to punch your face in," she growled out. "I hope you're feeling fired up."
Gajeel made his way through the sewers hoping that he could sneak into the castle. "the castle should be north of here," Gajeel said when a group of knives was thrown at him, which he caught with his mouth as Chase appeared from the wall "you're going to have to come at me with better iron than that" Gajeel laughed as Chase glared at him.
"my blades will shatter your iron blacksteel," Chase said
"Come on, Juvia," Gray said
"I'm coming," Juvia said while on the inside she was teaming with joy "how wonderful how I've always dreamed of taking a midnight stroll with my beloved," she gushed when Gray tackled her to the ground. "how bold."
"hey pretty boy," Canon called
"How dare you," Juvia screamed, "he is mine."
"Juvia, calm down," Gray said now without his shirt."
"what the hell made you take your clothes off in front of that man."
"Is this a lover spat" a voice called as they turned to see Ink. She then kicked Juvia away as Juvia landed on the ground.
"Juvia" Gray screamed as Cana fired at him as he was forced to jump into the lake.
"get out of Juvia's way," Juvia said as she and Ink landed across from her "she needs to return to her love and prevent him from being hurt."
"Nah, I'll think I'll stay," Ink said as she and Juvia faced off.
Cream smiled at the sounds of screams in the air. It would all be worth it when his kingdom flourished. "Fiore will be the first to fall, seeing as there is the largest kingdom in Ishgar," he smiled "everyone in Ishgar will soon bow to me," he said as he rose the phoenix stones into the air, one glowing red, the other glowing blue "the time has come for us to bring you back to life" he screamed "the time has come for you to grant me eternal life" he shouted "and as such our power will grow" he yelled, "come forth and bring the world to its knees." he laughed "my father's dream, my grandfather's dream, and our founder's dream" he screamed "is about to come to light" he shouted.
"bird of fire, the time has come for you to rise."
Mavis overlooked the notes that Anna gave her reading over and over. She was surprised that the women had them. a smile from on her face, but there was still the matter of the phoenix stones, and on the worst-case scenario that Veronica was able to unleash it, but it looks like Kalard even prepared for that, but she hoped they didn't have to resort that "Master is everything all right" the voice of Makarov came to her
"yes," Mavis said, closing the book. "I have received a way to break the spell," Mavis said, "And what of the council."
"they want to discuss the matter," Makarov told her with a sigh. "I don; think they understand the gravity of the situation."
"Well, there is a way to kill the phoenix in the worst-case scenario," she said, "tell me, Makarov, what do you know of the sacred arrow."
"it's a weapon stored in the magic councils vault," Makarov said "it has no use," he said "why do you ask," Mavis then showed him the picture "find Riana and Cosmos if there still here; I think I have a way to end this conflict."
"with an arrow that can light the heavens."
