Erza sighed as she looked at the arrow 'can I do this.' she looked at Mavis, who had an uncertain look in her eye "don't worry, ma'am," Erza said. "I can handle this," she said as she looked at the arrow.

"Erza," Mavis said, "I'm not going to lie to you, my child," Mavis said, "you understand what casting this spell will do."

"yes," Erza said, standing up. "I took a sacred oath," Erza said, "both to my family and Magnolia."

"but it's more than that, Erza," Mavis said

"I understand," Erza said, "but it's like you told me," she said. "I must be willing to make sacrifices," she said, "and I will pray in my heart for forgiveness," she said, "but if what you told me is true, then I will gladly ease Éclair's burden" she smiled.

"Alright," Mavis said, "get into position and wait for my signal" she looked around. "Makarov and Cosmos are here, looking for Éclair as we speak."

"I will join them shortly," Riana said

"she should be with Lucy if all went to plan," Erza told her

"Alright," Mavis said, "Godspeed, Erza."

Phoenix Priestess arc: The phoenix priestess

"the only thing it takes to rule is power," Dyst shouted. "I will be an immortal god among men and rule the entire world," he screamed.

"it will be wasted on you because you don't know the value of life," Natsu screamed.

"I know how to end it," Dyst screamed back. he was about to attack again when Happy slammed into him

"you hurt my friends," Natsu growled out.

"and, "Dyst said with a sinister grin, "what are you going to do about it."

"I'm going to make sure you can't hurt anyone ever again," Natsu screamed as he and Dyst clashed again.

Gray, Juvia, Wendy, and Gajeel stood in shock as they saw the flames rise from the phoenix. They all knew what that meant "it's Natsu," Gray said as they looked as the creature marched forward " we need to give him some backup," Gray said as everyone next to him nodded. Their magic did not affect this creature, but they couldn't let it get past. If it did, then that would be the end of everything they knew and loved, and that would not go through. They had to stop this creature.

"then let's rock," a voice shouted, getting their attention. They turned to see the Bickslow running up to the foot of the phoenix "{Baryon formation}."

"{Fairy machine gun: leprechaun}" another voice shouted. It was Evergreen. She winked as Freed appeared next to her.

"{Dark Écriture: slash}" he called as she attacked the foot of the phoenix, causing it to tip over. Then, a giant bolt of lightning struck the phoenix, stumbling over as the thunder legion jumped where Laxus was standing, a smile on his face as he saw Natsu falling over.

"Natsu," Laxus called, getting the dragon slayer's attention as Happy ran to catch him "the hell do you think you are doing" he screamed "you're chosen, son, right" he screamed, "you're wasting time. Hurry up and kick that guy's ass" he screamed ad Natsu smiled.

"I still don't have the blood of the phoenix," Dyst screamed

"you don't have any respect for human life," Natsu screamed as he charged forward, "so there is no way in hell that I can let you live forever," he cried

"you will not get in my way," he shouted as he fired off another blast as Natsu stood his ground. "I will live for all eternity," he screamed, "you and your pathic friends will not stand in my way."

"you're going down" Natsu screamed

"come on, Natsu, you can do it," Happy screamed

"{Dragon slayer secret art: crimson lotus exploding flame blade}" he screamed as he burnt Dyst away, sending him flying away as Natsu landed on the ground.

"Yes," Laxus screamed as he flew around in his lighting body

Natsu smiled as he fell off the phoenix being grabbed by Mira; who smiled at him as Happy grabbed him from her "you okay" he asked as Natsu nodded as they looked at the phoenix "what are we going to do about that" Happy asked "there no way we can take it down, and we don't have a way to seal it away again" Happy said, "I'm scared."

"he beat him" Gray smiled

"but it ain't over," Gajeel said

"Natsu may have taken down Dyst, but there still is the phoenix," Lily said

"what are we going to do" someone then poked her on the cheek, making her jump up a bit as she turned to see Cana standing behind her, smiling "when did you get here."

"we'll do it together," she smiled "looks like fairy tail could use some helping hands" she smiled, "don't worry, dragon tail has your back" she turned behind her where Laki, Macao, Wakaba, Alzack, Bisca, Elfman, and Kinana.

"a real man is not afraid to get his hands dirty," Elfman shouted

"We brought the whole gang along," Laki said

"what would you do without me" Lyon called as he walked up to Gray "it looks like I'll have to bail you out again."

"We wanted to make a dragon tail saving fairy tail joke, but we needed Lyon," Laki said

"she just wanted to see her boyfriend," Cana joked

"he is not my boyfriend," Laki screamed as a flew magic bomb went off on the phoenix as the Christina flew overhead

"fear not, my good friends at fairy tail," Ichiya called, "your friends at blue Pegasus are here to save the day."

"look like it's finally time for us to bail out fairy tail," Sting shouted as he jumped off the Christiana.

"right," everyone in the Sabertooth guild shouted.

"let's go forth," Kagura shouted as she jumped off, slashing the phoenix, sending the phoenix back as the rest of Mermaid heel began to attack.

"Everyone," Wendy said, "you all came"

"of course, we did," Cana said "we can't leave saving the world to you dorks, can we," she said while winking "were going to take a page from your book and take this thing down together," she screamed as they all started to attack the phoenix in the hopes of stopping its rampage.

Natsu and Happy smiled as they watched everyone "it looks like the gang is all here."

"then let's get to work," Natsu said, "We gotta give Erza time."

"right," Happy called.

"you ready, Lyon" Gray called

"thought you'd never ask," Lyon said as they stood back to back "now, ice make."

"{eagle Lance}" combining their two forms of Ice make the two landed an attack that was enough to get the phoenix to stumble over as everyone else got ready to attack the best.

"Manely attack" Elfman screamed as he rushed the creature with his best arm

"Mira," Kinana called as they jumped up

"Right behind you," Mira called to her

"{demon breath}"

"{Posion devils: rage}"

"everyone together" Laki screamed as all the wizards gathered in Veronica charged at the phoenix, letting out their massive attacks as the Christina did another bombing run on the monster; as it stumbled back, Laxus smiled as he came up.

"Natsu, just like last time," he screamed.

"right" Natsu shouted as Happy flew it. "Wendy, Gajeel," he screamed "hey, Sting and Rogue are here too," he asked.

"let's show this thing the power of five dragon slayers," Sting called

"we're not letting you have all the fun," Rogue said

"I'm here too," Frosh said

"I can get used to all this flying," Lector said

"Alright," Natsu said as the five dragon slayer flew together. As the attacks of their friends stopped coming from the smoke, they got right in front of the phoenix, ready to unleash their breath attacks to take the creature down.

"Fire dragon"

"Iron Dragon"

"Sky Dragon"

"White dragon"

"Shadow Dragon"

"{roar}" the five let out their breath attack, which was enough to blast the phoenix to a standstill as it tried to tank the attack, toppling over most of the builds as they backed up.

Lucy continued to get a safe distance from the phoenix, hoping to get as far away as she could, when the ground opened up next to them, making them fall in "Éclair," Lucy screamed when a group of vines went out and grabbed them shocking both as they were pulled up.

"so much from staying out of trouble" a voice called Lucy looked over to see Cosmos smiling at her "hello."

"Cosmos," Lucy said as she sat her down, "am I glad to see you."

"I'm glad I found you; Makarov and I have been looking all over for you," she said "are you okay," she asked as Éclair nodded her head. She let out a sigh as she looked at the phoenix "come on, Mavis wants to see you," she said, "and where we are is well hidden," she said as she helped Éclair to her feet.

"We can't thank you enough," Lucy said

"anything for my friends," Cosmo said, smiling at her

"you and your friends are quite special," Éclair finally spoke up "you all seem to make a connection where you go," she smiled, "just as you did with" me. She smiled at Lucy, who smiled back.

"come on," Lucy said, "let's get you out of here" she looked up to see Natsu and Mira attacking the phoenix, a smile breaking out on her face as she saw the Christina do another bombing run as Gajeel slammed the phoenix in the face as Wendy landed a good kick on it as well "there here" Lucy called as she saw Yukino fighting as well "thank goodness maybe we can stop this thing after all," she said as Elfman ran up the side slamming it on the face, Gray created a giant hammer as Juvia attacked with as much water she could gather.

"you and your friends are exceptional," Éclair muttered "everywhere you go, you seem to bring joy and happiness," she smiled, thinking of her short time with the wizards. "I think I finally found what it meant to be happy, she said before falling over.

"Éclair," Lucy called.

"it's the phoenix," Éclair muttered, " gathering power."

"what the hell" Laxus muttered.

"what happening," Mira asked as she felt her wings start to give out

"I don't think I can fly for much longer," Happy said

"We can't give up, little buddy," Natsu said

"what going on," Lucy asked. She saw the giant ball of magic power growing in the sky "why do I feel so weak."

"it's not you," Éclair told her "it's the phoenix," she explained "it is in its nature to be reborn" Éclair looked away "it will take all the magic power across the land and use it to destroy the world," Éclair said as she looked at she could feel it that amount of magic power once it touched the earth no one would survive. Still, she and she would genuinely be alone. A smile came to her face, "It alone will rise from the ashes."

"that's horrible," Cosmos muttered.

"which is why it must be destroyed," a voice called. They turned to see Mavis standing next to Riana and Makarov. "no matter the cost," she said, "wouldn't you agree, Miss Éclair" Mavis asked.

"Mavis," Lucy said as she sat Éclair down, "you found a way to stop the phoenix."

"But how," Éclair asked, "the people of fire village are gone, and their technique to seal it away has been lost to time."

"we will not be sealing it away," Makarov cut in, "but destroying it entirely," he told her "years ago, the great wizard Kalard finished a weapon that was to be used against the phoenix in the chance it was ever unleashed on the world again" he explained "it was entrusted to the magic council years ago, the arrow of evils destruction," he said as look of joy came across Lucy's face "Erza is currently getting ready to use it now."

"my father," Éclair muttered with a tear forming in her eye, "thank you."

"but there is something you should know," Mavis said "any who have consumed the blood of the phoenix will disappear along with it," she said as Lucy backed up in shock "on my signal, Erza will fire this weapon, but first," Mavis said, "I wanted you to know the truth."

"Erza would never hurt Éclair like that," Lucy called

"I told her off this," Mavis said, "but we are out of options, Lucy,"

Éclair said nothing, her mind going through all her memories as she looked at the phoenix, the creature that had caused all her pain. He hurt, taking her family and life away from her. Where would she be if that creature never existed if Veronica weren't; power-hungry fools? All the anger she had towards the world turned to the monster as the chief final words to her played in her mind again that night, playing through her mind like a broken record

the chief stopped holding one stone as he quickly removed the seal, looking at Éclair when three spears struck his back. As he teleported them away and looked over them, looking around, he sighed as they left as the two landed.

"Are you okay" Éclair barely moved as the chief took out a small bottle "please, Éclair, we need you to keep going" he smiled "your life is far too tender; life is not yet through with you yet" he sighed "although h your life has been spared I fear what awaits you, my dear Éclair, may be a fate worse than death" he sighed "it was folly to worship the phoenix stones as we did and we have paid the ultimate price for it, we cannot allow others to make this same mistake?" he said "you will live until you can see that it vanishes from this world, you must destroy the phoenix stone, you cannot let that creature return, or it will doom us all?" he said as they teleported away again as Éclair finally came to looking as the chief smiled at her for the last time "take this stone," the chief had said, "take it to the boundary forest, see that it reaches the wizard Kalard," he groaned. "please, Éclair."

"with this blood, you will last forevermore."

All the emotions she had tucked away came out as a smile broke out on her face "you know what," Éclair muttered, "go ahead, you have my blessing."

"what," Lucy asked "what are you saying"

"Lucy," Éclair muttered. "I've lived a long life," she said, "and I'm ready for it to end," she said "our time together may have been brief," she smiled, "but in the end," "I think I learned something," she smiled "you were right," she said "magic can bring happiness as well" she smiled "it because of magic" she smiled "that I met you" she smiled at her "so as my friend" she leaned in closer "please hold me until my time comes," she said

"Éclair," Lucy cried.

Mavis nodded as she raised her hand to Erza, seeing this smile as she turned away, changing into her archery armor, a white and red cloak. She then tied her hair into a braid and pulled out a bow gripping it with all her strength. She let out a breath of air as she pulled the arrow back. "Éclair," Erza thought as she felt a single tear go down her eye. "please forgive me," Erza said

"the gift of joy, happiness," Éclair muttered, "such a special gift that you have given me" she smiled at her as Lucy wiped the tears from her eyes. "I know Momon is waiting for me.

"seek out and destroy the evil," Erza screamed as she fired the arrow, striking the phoenix in the eye, stumbling back as it crashed to the ground knocking Elfman and Natsu down. Natsu grabbed onto the phoenix, Mira caught Elfman and Happy as Makarov stopped one of the phoenix's arms from crushing them, as Lucy held Éclair; the world went silent around her friend all jumped out of the way as the phoenix fired its attack.

"what, why" Erza screamed

"This is bad," Evergreen screamed as the attack made the sky turn red. The phoenix stood up again as Natsu climbed to the top of the head.

'if it hits, everyone will die; please, Natsu, save them.'

Hearing this, Natsu rushed forward, jumping in front of the creature. Grabbing the arrow, he used his remaining strength to push it into the beast. A bright light shone around him as the phoenix attempted to finish its spell. An enormous magic circle appeared behind Natsu as he drove the arrow into the eye of the phoenix. The stone inside broke as the sky cleared, the stars sparkling in the sky as the phoenix stood still.

"Did we win," Wendy asked

"I think we did" Gray smiled

"Nice job," Gajeel said as the phoenix started to crumble into dust

Lucy felt a tear forming on her face as she felt Éclair grab it, looking at her as she began to vanish in her arms. "I'm happy that I met you," Éclair muttered "thank you, Lucy," she said as she started to vanish, her voice entering the heads of all the members of fairy tail

"The past few days have been the happiest of my life," she smiled "so thank you," she said, "For showing me what it meant to be part of a family."

Éclair's body then entirely vanished from Lucy's arm as her spirit soon lifted to the sky. As Lucy started crying, Mavis went up to her, bringing her in for a hug.

"it is going to be okay, Lucy," she whispered as Lucy cried in her arms "everything will be okay," she whispered again as she heard the girl whimpers the cloak that Éclair on falling to the ground.

"was that Éclair" Wendy asked

"I don't know," Gray told her

Erza looked away, shame all over her face as Éclair came in front of "I forgive you, Erza," she said "thank you," she whispered, "for freeing me of this burden" she then vanished on the phoenix. Natsu let out a relieved sigh as he let himself fall as. Happy caught him smiling at his best friend as he saw a small client of blood gall from the phoenix, which vanished before it hit Natsu.

"thank you. All," Éclair said as she flew away. Momon came up to her as she smiled, reuniting with her friend. "Lucy needs her family right now," Éclair said

"But first, we want everyone to know how much fairy tail has helped us," Momon said as they turned it into a phoenix. A bright light shined over the land as they took the shape of the mark of mavis going into the sky. As the light ended, Mira let a smile form on her face.

"We had no choice," was all she whispered, "but in the end, it looks like that choice was what she wanted. "

the group stood in silence, the only sounds being Lucy's tears as they all watched fairy tail word spread of the sacrifice that had to be made to stop the phoenix's rampage, one that had a heavy toll on the members of fairy tail stood off to the side morning their friend Éclair as Natsu pushed his way through the group as lucy looked at him

"Natsu," she asked, "do you think she meant it." Lucy asked, "that magic can only bring sorrow," she asked. Natsu brought her in for a hug, a smile on his face

"in her final moments," he said, "she was smiling," he said as everyone looked at him

"and she'd want us to continue smiling as well."

Nothing else was said as the group started to help around some wizards going to where Duke cream was helping him off the tower. The members of Carbuncle were arrested for their attacks on Fiore grounds by the magic council. The members of the allied forces took care of it all while they sent fairy tail home.

"Are you sure?" Erza asked, "we can help"

"No," Jura told her, "you all have done enough," he said, "please, go get some rest" he smiled. as the group went to visit the stone where Éclair was granted immortality as they all went home, the magic council handling things in Veronica it was a long day when Lucy found herself walking home alone was again as he saw something.

"Éclair," Lucy asked as she saw a younger Éclair with her mother and father. A smile broke on her face as she turned away 'time to get home,' she said as she returned to her apartment. She opened the door. She was shocked when she saw her team jump up.

"surprise," they all screamed as Katja jumped into a hug

"what going on," Lucy asked as she hugged the girl back.

uncle Jude's birthday," Katja told her, "as she handed her a piece of cake, a smile on her face,

'promise me you'll be happy.'

A smile broke out on Lucy's face as her friend started going around bringing out drinks. as they began to mingle as Michelle walked up to her hugging her, as well as Lucy looked at the cake in her hands

'I learned a lot about myself these past few days. But mom, dad, you don't have to worry about me' she looked at her friends. They all looked at her Mira talking to Natsu and Wendy about the amount of food they had, Happy and Carla trying to make sure their food didn't mix, Gajeel putting iron in his piece of cake, Erza putting a strawberry on hers, "my family, will take good care me' she smiled, 'and Éclair don't worry I'll continue to be happy' she smiled as she allowed her to take a bite of the cake.

'Cause my family will always be with me."

the battle for the phoenix stones has ended as our heroes say their final goodbyes to their friend Éclair with her sacrifice in taking the phoenix away with her. as our heroes mend their wounds, they will start going on new adventures. Still, they will never forget their friends as their eternal adventure continues.
