A/N: This will have a slight crossover with Criminal Minds. Hope you enjoy!

This is early season 5 of Criminal Minds, no specific season of PD.

Christmas had passed and the new year came and everything had seemed to be moving along well. Ryan was doing great in his treatment program, he loved seeing Sophia all the time. He had always told Adam that it was his little girl that gave him the strength to continue moving forward to get clean and sober and to stay clean and sober. Sophia had given him his purpose for life once again.

The job hunt was still hard, nobody would take him with his drug use, he wanted to throw in the towel and say screw it. Whenever those thoughts came to him he immediately shook it off.

One rainy afternoon he had stayed back at the rehab, he had group and therapy. A tall white man with raven black hair wearing a suit had gone to see him. He had been in his room writing in his journal when there was a knock on his door, Ryan couldn't help but smile thinking it was his daughter.

He had kept a picture of Sophia by his bed, as he kept writing when he called out. "Come in!"

The door opened and the man had entered. "Hello Ryan" His voice was soft like, very calm.

Ryan had spun around and his eyes had gone wide. No. It couldn't be. "Aaron? What the.. What are you doing here? How did you find me?"

The man, Aaron Hotchner, or Hotch for short had been one of Ryan's cousins. They hadn't spoken or seen each other in years. Ryan hadn't seen much of his family. Aside from his parents and brother that were gone, his other family didn't care much to reach out to him. Aaron tried occasionally but lost touch throughout the years.

"I do work for the FBI. I can find just about anyone anywhere. I heard about everything, I wanna say I'm sorry"

"What have you heard?"

"Your girlfriend died tragically in a car accident, Ian was killed and you have a daughter. Sophia, she's seven"

"Not gonna ask how you found out because most likely I know. As for Ian, the bastard deserved it. He killed Emma and made my daughter grow up without a mother. I lost the love of my life because of him. He should rot in hell where he belongs. Now what brings you to my neck of the woods, it's been years since I've seen you. How's Haley?"

"She and my son, Jack have gone into protective custody"

That had made Ryan turn fully to his cousin. "What's going on?"

"There's a serial killerI had been chasing and looking into, I still am. His name is George Foyet, he's called The Reaper. He's never left a victim alive. He's personally targeting me. I just came out of the hospital not very long ago after being attacked by him, Haley and Jack have gone into protective custody"

"You wanna put me in protective custody" Ryan realized, finishing off his cousin.

"Just until he's caught. Then you'll be safe"

"How'd he even find me? We haven't spoken in years"

"He tore two pages from my address book, one to attempt to find Haley. And the other to find you"

"Aaron I can't, I have a kid to think about"

"All the more reason to go. This man is capable of a lot. He's clever, brilliant, and a very good manipulator. He's fooled me and my team into thinking he was a victim to throw us off his trail. Ryan, I know you're trying to get your life together and straightened out but this is life or death. I want you to be around for your daughter, she wants you to be around. This is just temporary until my team catches him"

"Look, my daughter's uncle is a cop. Maybe you can tell them and they can help, see if he'll ever come to Chicago. I can introduce you"

"Ryan, I can't endanger anyone else"

"These guys you can trust. They're a good team, an elite unit"

"If you trust them, so can I. Where are they?"

"I'll go with you. Hank can get a bit territorial"

Getting up, Ryan left and signed out. He swore he would be back later for the group and therapy sessions. The way his dark-haired cousin sounded, it was urgent. And life or death. As they left someone had been watching them, the person held a picture in his hand and smirked evilly.

"Thanks for the help Aaron"

In the car Aaron drove as Ryan gave him directions to the 21st district, the younger man glanced at him. "How's Sean?"

"He's good, he's in New York"

"Do you have him in custody?"

"No"

"Hold on, you have your wife and son in custody, you want me in custody, but not your own brother?"

"Sean and I are estranged, we talk but not very much. He thinks I'm acting too much like our father"

Ryan chuckled. "In a way he's not wrong but you are a good man Aaron"

"Thank you. Is this it?" He pulled up to a police station.

"Yup, District 21"

The two got out and immediately regretted it getting hit by cold rain. They rushed inside and tried to shake off the water. Trudy looked at him and couldn't help but chuckle.

"What's going on Ry?" Trudy asked.

"Are Adam and Hank in?" He replied, his voice sounding slightly urgent.

"Is Sophia ok?"

"She's fine, I have someone who needs to see Hank. It's urgent"

"I'll buzz you up"

As the two men went to the stairs and Trudy saw the dark-haired man she had a feeling something seriously wrong was about to descend on the city. The two men got to the bull pen and Intelligence had been working a string of murders, all caucasin white men with black raven hair. When Aaron saw that he froze.

Foyet was in Chicago and he was already on the hunt and began his bloodbath murdering spree. And if he was in Chicago that meant Ryan was already being stalked and was in great danger which meant Sophia was in great danger as well. Adam looked back to see his niece's father and just about jumped to his feet.

"Ryan, hey. What's going on? Is Sophia alright?" Adam asked worriedly.

"She's fine. My cousin needs to talk to you and Hank about a possible threat" Ryan told him.

Hank had stepped forward. "I'm Sergeant Hank Voight"

Aaron had stepped forward and the two men shook hands. "I'm Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit out of Quantico, Virginia" Glancing at the white board full of victims he looked back at Hank. "And I believe Chicago now has a serial killer on the streets and I know who it is"

"Who?"

"He calls himself The Reaper. His real name, George Foyet"

Meanwhile

An older white man had walked into an elementary school and went to the office, the secretary looked at him.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes," The man said, pulling out a wallet. "I'm Special Agent Derek Morgan, FBI. I'm here to pick up a student, Sophia Ruzek. Her uncle has been injured in the line of duty during a case. I've been tasked with escorting her to the hospital" He showed the badge.

"I'll pull her from class, one moment"

The secretary had gone to get the seven-year-old from class, and a few minutes later when she had returned Sophia just about flew down the hall. Her small brown eyes were full of unshed tears.

"Where's Uncle Adam?" She just about cried.

"He's hurt but I'll take you to the hospital"

"Is he ok?"

"I'm sure he'll be fine, let's go"

He took her hand and quickly walked her out of the school as fast as he could and put her in the back of a car and rounded, going to the driver seat. Once he was in he took off. Sophia looked at him curiously.

"I'm Sophia, what's your name?"

"My friends call me Derek. You can call me George"
