This is a NO WAR STORY. Drabbles (approx 100 words each) about Tris & Four during their first year together in Dauntless, set after Tris' initiation. This will contain 40 drabbles. 40. Chapter 40 - Vengeance

The chasm is packed. Feels like every Dauntless member is here. The Dauntless leaders are in the middle, all armed and forming a circle around the kneeling figure in the center of them. Dressed in black with his hands tied. Tobias' face is stone cold, his jaw clenched as he stands next to Max. It's Max who addresses the kneeling figure. "Peter you are accused of attempted murder, you have been found guilty by a council of your peers, the punishment is death." With that Max looks to Tobias. Tobias' finger moves to the trigger on the pistol he holds but he doesn't lift the weapon. Max must sense his hesitation because he lifts his own on weapon and aims it at Peter's head. He doesn't wait, or hesitate before he pulls the trigger. It's over in a split second and Peter's body slumps to the ground of the chasm.
