Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told. Today we begin fairy tail: sun Village, a prologue to the Tartaros arc coming up; yes, I will be doing both as I have free time to do so, but more on that later. As of now, this is, thankfully, a shorter arc and nowhere near as long as the grand magic games arc though I do have a plan for this and how it will play out, which I did enjoy writing, so as always, tell me what you think and let's get into the story as our heroes are once again called to action to face threats to their home. Still, little do they realize that greater danger lies in the shadows.

Last time on a fairy tail re-told

Happy: man, a lot of jobs have been coming our way

Natsu: yeah, and a lot of them have been asking for Gray and me

Lucy let out a relaxed sigh as she leaned back in the fairy pub's new communal bath "this is the life," Lucy said as she cleaned herself, smiling as the warm water brushed against her skin. It was Miko's idea stating that in the case they needed to do multiple jobs having a place for the wizards to privately bath so they can go there next job, and Lucy had to say she owed that women several thank you and maybe an excellent warm meal cause this was the most relaxing bath she had taken in years "yeah I can get used to this"

"now that we have our bathhouse, I may never take a job again," Cana laughed.

"you might not have a choice," Kinana told her "we've been swamped with jobs ever since we got back from the grand magic games," she said

"It might have something do to with the old bounty boards," Laki said "now that our old clients know where to find us, they tend to send their request here," she laughed. "according to Mavis, this is the busiest the place has been in years," she laughed.

"That's why we need to relax," Levy said

"so that's why you're not on the job with Jet and Droy today," Lucy asked

"well, when the boys said that they can handle a job independently," Levy said, "well, I figured I should let them."

Jet and Droy were hung upside down "come on, Droy," Jet shouted, "we need to show Levy that we can take care of ourselves."

"your right," Droy screamed.

"Please help us, Gajeel," the pair screamed. "We're completely helpless."

"Why did you bring them with us" Lily shouted

"they followed us," Gajeel screamed

"Juvia thinks you are getting too soft," Juvia said as she fought off more attackers.

Sun village arc prologue: Morning of a new adventure

"well, as long there sure," Lucy said "speaking of teaming up, fairy tail been getting swamped with jobs" Lucy sighed as she stood up "so much that Gray and Natsu went on a job last time I checked"

"really," Kinana asked.

"well, they have been getting along recently," Mira said, "in their own way."

in the room next to them where the boy's communal bath was, Max smiled hearing that "so that's where Natsu is" he asked

"yeah," Romeo said, "I'm sure they can handle whatever comes their way."

"a real man can handle anything," Elfman screamed.

"come on, guys," Laxus said, "I want to get some quiet."

"Laxus, would you like me to get your back" Freed asked

"Yeah, that sounds good," Laxus said a second later. Freed had started,

"your back is hard," Freed said, "maybe you should try to relax a little more, old friend."

"meh," Laxus said

"hey," Bickslow said, "if you're giving out back rubs, count me in," he asked.

"go do your own," Freed grumbled.

"But you," Bickslow started, "whatever, man," Bickslow said, leaving

"you're happy there, Freed," Max said

"be quiet and let me work," Freed shouted

"scrub it good ya hear," Laxus said

"yes, sir"

"Hey Lucy," Cana's voice came in, making everyone stop, "a little birdie told me that you gave Natsu a peak," she said as everyone turned red.

"Man," Romeo blushed. "I'm glad my old man is not here," he said starting to sink into the water.

"birdie, my ass" Lucy screamed. She knew more than anyway one that it was Happy who told her those two would gossip more than Mira does like everyone else in the room started to turn red "and that's not what happened," she told her "that dragon stripped me, and he covered me instantly" she shouted.

"Really now," Cana asked.

"what the matter, jealous," Lucy asked, making her stop

"that," Cana stopped "shut up," she screamed. "It was not like that, and you know it."

"then why are you so interested in what Natsu and I are doing," Lucy said, "you should know better than anyone that Natsu is denser than a bag of rocks."

"that's not untrue," Mira laughed. "none of our dragon slayers are the best for that sort of thing."

"speaking of dragon slayers," Levy asked, "where's Wendy," Levy said

"she and Erza had a special request as well," Mira said "fairy tails been swamped with jobs," Mira told her, "when they left, it looked like Christmas had come early," she laughed

the job in question was one for Rabian, who had wanted fairy tail to act for him again with the promise of some delicious sweets as the two girls smiled with some drool coming from their mouths; however, there was one problem Erza acting had improved very little since the last she did this so her getting this job done was going to be a challenge in itself

"wait," Kinana asked, "if Erza been on the job this whole time, then who's sitting over there," she asked as everyone turned to where a red-headed stranger was sitting in their bath.

"I don't know," Mira said as the person stood up

"hey there, Blondie," they said as they turned, revealing themselves to be Flare of Raven tail.

"what's she doing here," Laki asked

"I don't know," Mira said

"get out," Cana screamed as Lucy stopped her "what the hell, Lucy," Cana called.

"she's not as bad as you think," Lucy said "she saved my life," she said, thinking back to what happened and how she would be dead if Flare didn't show up and pull her from the line of fire. "I never got the chance to thank you for that."

"well, it if that the case," Flare muttered "let me wash your body," she offered, "every last inch of it" the boys next door started to turn even redder except for Freed, who was too occupied with cleaning Laxus back.

"so, what brings you to Magnolia," Lucy said

"I'm passing through," Flare admitted "after Raven tail was arrested, the magic council let me go," she said. "I wasn't part of the guild for long," she sighed, "and now I don't know what to do," she sighed. "I want to go home," she admitted

"then go home," Lucy said, leaning back. "I'm sure they're wondering about you," she smiled "take it from everyone here," Lucy said, "going home can be the best feeling in the world."

"I" Flare stopped, a smile coming across her face "okay," she whispered

"Man, that communal bath is amazing," Lucy said as she waved to the sailors passing by "way better than the one at my place," Lucy said. "I wonder if I can convince the landlady to renovate it," Lucy whispered "are we caught up on rent," Lucy asked again as she went inside to see Erza and Wendy sitting on the couch.

"oh, welcome back, Lucy," Erza said

"Hey Lucy," Wendy said, "We got some sweets so much that we figured you'd want some too."

"that's sweet of you," Lucy said as she sat her stuff in her room "how'd the job go."

"about as well as you'd expect" Wendy laughed

"We gave a spectacle," Erza said with stars in her eyes "we even got a standing ovation," she gushed.

"I'd bet Erza," Lucy said

"The boys went on a job not long after we did," Carla said, "They should have been back by now."

"you think something happened," Wendy asked.

"I don't know," Erza said. "I'd hate for their sweets to go bad," Erza said. She was worried Natsu and Gray were capable wizards "their job shouldn't be taking so long, especially not three days."

"maybe we should go," Wendy said, "it's not far from here, so we should be back before the day's over."

"I think they'll be fine," Carla said, "but I'll go since you're going"

"right," Lucy said "knowing those two, they just got caught in a fight or something," Lucy said

"I doubt it," Erza said. "Natsu and Gray have been getting along."

"fine then, Miss Scarlet, put your sweets where your mouth is," Lucy said

"fine then," Erza said, "but I will not lose."

The group found themselves in the forest where Natsu and Gray had done their job, where they found a giant monster that was very clearly dead "wow," Lucy muttered. "What is this thing."

"I think it's the monster from the flyer," Wendy muttered,

"and going of the smell, it's been here for days," Carla noted

"so, they finished their task," Erza said "so where are they"

"I can't pick up their scents," Wendy said "thanks to this thing," Wendy rubbed her nose, "it's producing a smell that's covering the whole forest," Wendy said, "you have a map, right." behind them, someone walked from the forest

"Carla," a voice called as they turned to see a very pale Happy with a cane, "please, you have to help us." he then fell over

"oh no, Happy," Carla shouted

"Are you okay little guy" Lucy shouted as Wendy started healing him and opened his eyes.

"will he be okay," Carla asked.

"he's not injured," Wendy said, "he's just drained."

"it horrible," Happy muttered "we have to stop Natsu and Gray," he said

"why, what happened," Lucy asked

"what do you think happened," Happy told her as he showed the group where Natsu and Gray were. The pair had destroyed the area.

"so, you're giving up." Natsu said, "that's fine; came at me, and you started to melt like an ice cream cone."

"shut up," Gray screamed "it's your fault we're lost in this forest in the first place," he shouted as they started fighting again.

Lucy let out a cough as Erza sighed, handing her twenty jewels. as she smirked, taking it away from her, it was about time she won one of these bets "and to think we were worried about them," Carla said

"Some things never changed," Wendy said

"Well, the fighting started recently," Happy said "after we beat that monster, we decided to head home, but its smell covered the whole forest, so Natsu and I don't know where we were going," Happy admitted, "and Gray didn't bring a map" Happy said

"why not," Lucy asked.

"Natsu was all like," Happy started, "we have my nose. Why would we need a map."?

"figures," Erza said "come on, you two," Erza said, stopping them," she said "we have sweets at home," she said

"Erza," Natsu said

"When did you get here," Gray said

"cause, unlike you idiots, I know to bring a map," Erza said as Natsu and Gray bowed their heads in shame.

"you know," Carla noted, "seeing at it been three days, I'm surprised it took them this long."

"Aye," Happy told them as Natsu and Gray looked away as they started to follow their friends away from the forest "though he was nice to sleep under the moon and stars," Happy said

Flashback

the night was calm, the sounds of crickets in the air as Natsu and Gray lay on the ground. "I can't believe we're lost," Natsu said as he sniffed the air, "and that damn smell is still in the air" he sighed

"get over it, man," Gray said "we'll get back home eventually," he said before something came over him "hey is everything alright with you and Mira," he asked

"what do you mean," Natsu asked.

"Well, Wendy was going on about you two seem to be arguing in a hushed tone or something," Gray asked. Of course, it was nothing new, but according to Wendy, there seemed to be a different kind of tension than the normal familiar one that they had "just curious."

"eh," Natsu said, "Mira's been on my case about getting in the dating game or whatever it's called"

"oh, I see," Gray said, "she wants to you ask out someone."

"yeah," Natsu noted, "according to her, I'm not getting any younger," he stated, "and I've been single for at least nine years," he said, "I should try. how did she put," Natsu muttered, "getting out there."

"so, you still" Gray stopped.

"if you're going to ask if I'm still on Lisanna," Natsu started reading his mind, "the answer is no for both of them," Natsu said. "I mean, yeah, I miss her," he looked to the sky, "but I've accepted her death, and you know I can move on." he sighed, "and I hope the other her is happy too," he whispered.

"so why the hesitation," Gray said. "I always thought that you and Cana" he stopped again when Happy started shaking his head; clearly, he shouldn't bring it up.

"me and Cana what," Natsu asked

"that Cana teased you about it more" Gray laughed

"Nah," Natsu said, "not something we talk about," he said

"I see that," Gray said, leaning back

"so, what about Erza," Gray asked, "or Lucy."

"not, you to man."

End Flashback

The pub was filled with laughter as Natsu and Gray turned away from Mira who had started to scold both for their lack of bringing a map"leave it to you to not bring a map," Elfman laughed.

"please tell me you finished the job," Mira asked.

"I did, sis," Natsu screamed before Mira hit him on the head

"Okay, but not bringing a map is dangerous" Mira screamed at him "what on earth possed you to leave it here" she screamed

"and they're back," Laki laughed

"I missed this," Max laughed

"I'm never going on a job with that idiot again," Natsu growled, "what dumbass forgets a map."

"who was the one who said we have my nose" Gray screamed back

"you boys are worse than Wendy when the guys at the old place started hitting on her," Miko muttered

"Miko," Wendy called, her cheeks turning red

"they just got a lot of energy," Laxus said, "though Gray's the first person I've met that can keep up with Natsu shenanigans" he laughed.

"oh my," Miko muttered as she saw Mavis enter the pub, a paper in hand and a bright smile on her face. 'what has her so chipper I wonder'

"Natsu Mira," Mavis said. "I need you two. There's a job that came for fairy tail, and you kids are going on it," she said as she floated onto the counter, sitting down.

"another one," Laxus asked, "you kids are getting a lot of those"

"you are too," Miko said "ever since the grand magic games, you've been getting a lot of these special requests," she laughed, "you all are like celebrities,"

"It was better before if you ask me," Laxus said, "these people are always on our back." he sighed, "if that Borwatt job was anything to go buy a lot of them are just a bunch of scam artists. though it was something else."

"what's the job, master," Mira asked.

"I'm not going anywhere with that idiot," Gray shouted as Natsu and Mira overlooked the job laying their heads on top of Mavis. As she held it up for them to see a smile on her face as dark looks came across their face, Laxus leaned over to get a look. In which he also adopted a solum expression.

"Gray, we're taking the job," Natsu said, his voice taking a tone that people rarely hear from him, making the whole place come to a stop. Even Gajeel and Juvia were shocked as they had just arrived "fairy tail is taking the job without question."

"and we will be on our best behavior while doing so," Mira said, her voice taking a similar tone "as best as our feeble minds can manage," she said as Wendy and Lucy hugged each other in fear. "do we make ourselves clear."

"yes, ma'am," Lucy and Wendy said in fear as Erza nodded

"who's the client," she asked

"The client," Mavis said, "is Warren Sequen," Mavis told them, "one of the four gods of Isghar" Mavis smiled "and a proud member of the ten wizards' saints," she said to everyone in the place did a double take.

"Why would a wizard saint need our help," Lucy asked

"This job must be dangerous," Wendy said, "is it an S-class job."

"you want me to tag along," Laxus asked.

"no," Natsu said, "all three of the children have to go," Natsu said, "so could you."

"yeah, I know," Laxus said

"don't worry," Cana said, coming to Natsu. "Dragon tail has Magnolia under lock and key," she said

"Alright," Natsu said. "Juvia," he said

"she is fine," Juvia said

"yeah, she did a lot on our last job," Gajeel said, "and Levy," he said, turning to her, "these are yours," he said as he dropped Jet and Droy at her feet, "make sure they stay. Here this time."

"I hope you don't mind, Miko," Mavis said

"no worries, Mira," Miko said, "just come back safe and sound, kay."

the group was mostly silent as they walked through the forest where the client for their job was Natsu and Mira. At the front, Mira had changed into a yellow and black dress for the job "man, it's so nice out here," Wendy muttered

"Yeah," Lucy said, stretching,

"like we're going on a family picnic," Happy said

"it is rare for all of us to go on a job together," Carla said

"There is such thing as overkill," Lily said

"so, the ten wizard saints are chosen by the magic council, right," Lucy asked, "are the gods of Ishgar chosen the same way."

"yes," Mira said

"master Makarov, Jura of Lamia scale, Cosmos, and Master Riana have been a part of the ten wizards' saints for years," Erza explained "master Jose and Jellal are also former members of the ten wizard saints," Erza explained. "they were stripped of there titles after the phantom and tower of heaven incidents"

"don't think I ever heard about these four gods of Ishgar," Lucy said

"unlike the four gods of Ishgar, those four are more widely known, but they are far from equals," Natsu said, " Jura is ranked fifth, Gramps is sixth, Riana is seventh, and Cosmos is eighth," Natsu explained, "these guys top them in strength, our client is one the top four he and the other three known as the gods of Ishgar."

"Ishgar," Wendy asked.

"that's one of the names of the continent," Gajeel said "wizards are spread out all across it," Gajeel said, "and these four or on a whole other level." he said, "the one who attacked us at the Grand magic games I doubt she's from Fiore," he said

"the wizard saint who attacked you all at the grand magic games," Juvia said. "I hear she's the one who replaced Master Jose after he was stripped of his title," shaking her head, "though I don't know who replaced Jellal."

"so, one of the strongest wizards on the continent," Lucy asked, "is asking us for help."

"I guess," Mira answered, "come on, we're almost there," she said "there it is," she said, pointing to the home.

"wow," Lucy said

"it almost looks like the place Natsu and Mira live at," Juvia said

"a one-to-one copy if you ask me," Gajeel said as they entered the place

"never seen so many house plants," Carla muttered

"Hello," Mira said, "master Warren are you here? It's fairy tail."

"Hush," a man's voice broke out as they looked to see someone standing in front of many house plants. He was a man with plant-like physical features: his head resembles a slightly gnarled tree trunk, while his hair resembles a leafy treetop. His attire consists of a high-collared kimono tied with a belt, loose trousers, a coat, and a pair of boots. "you will disturb the plants," he whispered before "they prefer peace and quiet," he said as everyone stopped before a smile broke out on his face" just kidding."

"what" everyone screamed as the sun entered the home and the flowers bloomed.

"he's an odd case," Juvia thought.

"How is he a wizard saint," Gajeel and Gray thought to themselves, remembering their encounters with the other wizard's saints. All had this air with them, but he was just a silly old man with him.

"thank you for traveling all this way," Warren said "fairy tail was it" he smiled. "I saw your performance at the grand magic games," he said, "it was quite the show."

"thank you very much, sir," Natsu and Mira said, bowing their heads

"I must say you two are more feline than I remember," he said before breaking out into another laugh as Natsu and Mira started laughing to

"at least he cracks himself up," Lucy muttered

"Please come in," Warren said as he pulled some drinks up from the ground, poured them, as set up a table for the wizards to sit at. "I am a retired man now," he said. "you may refer to me Warren Sequen of the ten wizard saints," he said "it a pleasure to meet you all"

"you say retired," Erza said, "so you once belonged to a guild," she asked.

"one might say that," Warren said, "but that was long ago," he said, "these days, I have devoted my life to nature" he smiled. "I go around turning desserts into forest," he smiled "places where the snow shouldn't have been also felt my touch," he sighed "battles where wizards inadvertently destroy the land" he smiled "most recently, I came across a village hidden across in the mountains" Warren explained "I have read about this village, a place where its watched under its eternal flame" he smiled "its people rever and worship this flame."

"it has a fire that never goes out," Natsu asked

"yes," Warren said, "but when I arrived, the whole place had frozen over," he sighed "whether it be by nature or the folly of man, every man, woman, and child," he sighed, "the flowers and buildings, even the rivers" he looked at the group "their eternal flame still burns brightly."

"you can freeze a flame," Lucy asked.

"I had many questions," Warren told them, "but I was sure that its people are still alive."

"I thought you said they were all frozen," Happy asked

"none of this makes sense," Carla said

"Those people are in dire need of help," Warren said, "break the curse that is held on the village," Warren said, "that is your task, fairy tail."

"Alright," Natsu said, "I'll just melt it," Natsu said "those people will be nice and toasty," he said

"This is no ordinary ice, my boy," warren said "it may take more than your fire to melt it away," he said

"if I may ask, sir," Erza asked, "you are one of the strongest wizards alive," she said "if we can handle this task," she said, "then couldn't you as well."

"maybe," Warren said, "but what you must realize my dear, is that there are tasks that even I may not be able to do" he smiled "while I admit I am powerful, that strength comes from knowing my limits" he smiled as he looked at the group "strength is not an absolute thing" he smiled "and you kids may have more knowledge about this than I do."

"of course, sir," Erza said

"now don't let that fool you," Warren said "strength alone is a slow thing," he said, "that is why we wizards form teams, and in most cases, those teams from guilds" he smiled "that is what I believe," he said, "so can I leave this task in your capable hand's fairy tail."

"we will take the job," Mira said

"Aye, sir," Happy screamed as Natsu and Gray fist bumped

"you can count on us," Lucy screamed

"Sounds like fun," Gajeel said

"Juvia will do her best," Juvia said

"awe, yeah, I'm all fired up," Wendy shouted, "so where is this sun village."

"About twelve hundred miles in the south," he smiled "don't worry, I will help you, gather there."

"What is he going to do" Happy asked

"maybe a magic vehicle," Carla said

"Yeah, thanks for the offer," Gajeel said

"but where good" Wendy said

"suck it up, you two," Natsu said as he picked her up

"just do as he says," Mira said, pushing Gajeel to where Warren wanted them to stand.

"now everybody ready," Warren asked "now turn to the right," he said as everyone but Natsu and Mira turned right as he laughed, "gullible as ever," he laughed as the group turned back as Natsu and Mira started to laugh. "I leave this in your hand's fairy tail, do this job, and you shall overcome any obstacles that may come in your path." he smiled as a tree started to grow underneath them.

"wow" Gajeel screamed

"What is this" Gray said

"he's controlling nature itself," Mira said

"and he's using it to make this tree fly like a dragon." Erza said, amazed "what power," he said, "yet he's so humble" she turned, seeing Warren smile at them as they flew off

Warren smiled as someone came up to him, standing next to him "they sure had grown," he said, smiling as Mavis stood next to him "they have come very far from where they started," he said as he remembered when he first met Natsu and Mira when they were younger "now they are strong cable wizards who there friends relay on"

"yeah," Mavis said, "takes me back," Mavis said, "to when that was us."

"it's been what one hundred and five years," Warren laughed "you and I have created a place that can create strong wizards in the end," he said "looks like your dream did come true," he said, looking at Mavis, who had a smile on her face as they both remembered there past how far that Magnolia has come since they liberated it since his time in the children of Magnolia the adventures they would go on he smiled "those kids." Warren said, "they inherited your spirit."
