The battle for sun village has ended thanks to our hero's old friend Atlas's flame melting the ice in the village at the cost of his remaining thought energy. However, he left fairy tail's dragon slayers with a message about how Igneel failed to destroy the demon E.N.D. Who is this powerful demon, and what of the man who froze the village? Wendy: I guess you're right

"It pains me to see it this way," Atlas flame said, "if I had a drop of moisture in me, I would shed a tear," he said. "I will use the last of my strength to free this place." he screamed "with the flames granted to me by the son of Igneel, I will do it," he shouted as he started to increase his flames.

"now that's hot," Mira screamed

"I'm going to melt away," Lucy screamed

"Juvia's going to evaporate," Juvia screamed

"get behind me," Gray said as he created a small ice cloud to keep them cool.

"hear me, son of Igneel, daughter of Grandeeny," Atlas flame said, "and the son of Metalicanna," he said, "the dragon king festival, Zeref, Acnologia, the dragon born," he said. "I remember everything," he said "however, there is a bigger threat," he said, "the third element around four hundred years ago, Igneel did battle with the strongest demon from the books of Zeref," he said as everyone looked in shock "not even the combined might of the dragons Ishgar," he said "they ended up sealing him away," he said "you must stop him," he said "Natsu you must complete your father's task, you cannot allow that demon to be free, "the monster's name.

"is E.N.D"

the entire village started to thaw as the giants regained themselves. They looked around "the ice is melting," one said

"It must be the eternal flame," another said

"The ice is gone," Minerva said "damn it," she said as a giant leaned down next to them.

"strange," he muttered, "a couple of humans wandered into our village."

"we'll finish this another time, titania," Minerva said as he ran away

"Minerva," Erza screamed, "it's not too late," she said, begged, "don't be consumed by the darkness."

"There is no such thing as light or dark," Minerva said, "isn't that what your friend told Rouge" she smiled "this is who I am," she turned away, "and I like it. Soon, you will know what true terror is Scarlet," she said as she ran away.

Sun village arc: Song of the fairies

The giants let out loud laughs as Natsu sat on top of their heads "looks like they're getting along," Lucy laughed as the giants looked them over.

"we ow you little people big time," one giant said

"I haven't been called that in years" Wendy whispered

"think about how I feel," Carla muttered

"Just glad we could help out," Gray said, "and we're definitely glad everyone here is okay," as he picked up his large piece of food 'I've never had food this big"

"Excuse me," Erza asked, "would you mind telling me what happened to you" as all the giants stopped.

"well, it's all a blur," one giant said

"Atlas flame told us that demon slayer was responsible," Lucy told her

"yeah, I remember grabbing my weapon to fend him off," a giant said, "after that, everything's a blur," he said, "I saw a bright light, then next thing I knew, I was getting warmed up, and you all were here," he said

"yeah, he was here because he thought my uncle was a demon," Natsu said, "so he iced the whole place just to kill him."

"so, the whole village suffered because of mistaken identity." Erza asked, "not very comforting."

"that's not all," Gray said, "that succumbs eye creep," Gray said, "told me that the netherworld was about to open" Gray looked away "whatever that means"

"the netherworld," Erza asked, "that's Tartaros," she said as Lucy shivered in fear.

"then one of them must have frozen this village," Gray said "that explains why Succumbs eye was sent here," he said, "they wanted to keep it frozen."

"didn't they go into hiding," Natsu asked

"not too long after the war on Tenrou," Wendy said, "out of all the dark guilds, Tartaros is the most mysterious, them and all guilds under them," Wendy said as she put down her overly large cherry, "not even the magic council can track them."

"so, we have no idea why they were here," Mira said

"We can't worry about it now," Gajeel said, "let's just be glad on a job well done."

"I guess you're right," Juvia said

"Hey, where is Flare," Lucy said as she looked around to see Flare hiding behind a tree "there you are," Lucy smiled "what's with the hide and seek," she asked.

"Flare," a group of giants said, "did she really come back."

"come on," Lucy said, "your home," Lucy said, "you should be happy."

"I abandoned the village," Flare said. "I ran away and never looked back."

"Oh, come on," Lucy said "look at those smiles," she said when she saw the giants. All of them were frowning as Lucy backed up "never mind," she said quickly.

"so, Flare," the giant at the front said, "you may still be tiny, but I can tell that you've grown up," he said "so how was the outside world," he asked.

"it was a lot of fun," Flare noted, pressing her fingers together, "but full of hardships," Flare said. "I did things, said things," she looked away. "I was tricked," she looked to the ground, "but" she looked at Lucy, who smiled at her. "I made friends too."

the giants smiled as one bent down to get a better look at her "you'll find that's true wherever you go" he smiled as she looked at him "you can come and go whenever you like," he said, "but know that you will always have a home here" he said as they smiled at her "now we can say something that we've been wanting to say since you left" he smiled as they all group around her

"daughter, you finally come home."

Flare froze as tears appeared. "I," Flare smiled as teas finally came down her face. "I'm home," she said as she started crying. "I finally came home," she called again as the giants laughed with her as they picked her.

'I don't think I ever saw Flare smile so much before; that night we partied with the big people, we laughed till the sun came up, it was enough to make us forget about all the doom and gloom, Succumbs eye, the books of Zeref, and Tartaros.

Minerva had finally returned to the guildhall, which was located in a forest, surrounded by jagged, steep, pointy hills. The building was very ancient compared to what she was used to, but she would make it suffice to get her vengeance and extend her power. Minerva came to a stop; everything around her was destroyed tables had been turned over "this is not how I left the place," Minerva said as she started to investigate as she found something, a small black humanized paper "what is this"

"you're guildmates," a voice called.

"whose there," Minerva asked as she turned to see something walking towards her; it was a half-human/half-aviary person. She seems to be of average height yet possesses an enormous chest and a curvaceous figure. Covering her form is a skin-tight suit that further emphasizes her chest, reveals her thighs, and partially exposes her buttocks. Her shoulders and arms are concealed by a long, striped jacket with flaring sleeves and a four-way split tail. Back and a tall and gaping collar that completely hides her neck. Said sleeves cover most of Kyôka's hands, which take the form of sharp and scaly talons, while a thick pair of bands wrap around the woman's thighs, stopping where a similar set of bird-like feet begin. Her head is adorned with an intricate helmet, thus covering almost the entirety of her face save for her eyes and mouth. From the sides of the helmet, two long wing-like pieces of hair protrude, curving out around her face. "what do you want."

"I am Kyoka," she said, "leader of the nine demon gates and goddess of the slave planet" she smiled. "I put your former guild mates under my experimentation, and sadly none of them survived."

"I knew we would receive punishment for failing to secure sun village," Minerva muttered, "but I didn't expect a butcher."

"I don't know what you mean," Kyoka told her "your jobs are your own business."

'then was it a private request from Silver.' Minerva whispered

"My only goal is enhancement" Kyoka smiled. "I have no need for the weak," she said as she saw the slight smile grow on Minerva's face "there is a war coming," Kyoka told her, "and we need all the manpower we can get," she said, "so let's see how you fare," she said

"wait no" Minerva said as dark energy came into the air before long all that could be heard in the forest was a bloodcurdling scream

The members of fairy began making their way back to Warren's house. It was a long process as they walked around, making sure to not lose their way as they stopped at the top of a mountain. Lucy smiled as she took a sip from their water "getting to the village was a total breeze," Happy said, "getting home will take some work.

"Warren's magic did make it easy," Wendy said. "I didn't think anything could move that quickly."

"Just consider this training," Erza said, "and it lets us take in the scenery."

"I guess," Lucy said, her mind going back to Flare, who had decided to remain in Sun village for the time being 'I'm glad she's home and can finally be happy" Lucy smiled.

"come on, guys," Mira said, "that's enough rest," Mira said as everyone got back up to start moving "we'll be back at Warrens' house in no time."

"can't wait to see the old man's face when we return," Natsu said. "I bet we finished this job faster than he thought we would"

"yep," Mira said

"speaking of which," Gajeel said, "you never told us what the reward was," Gajeel asked.

"you'll see," Natsu and Mira smiled "you're going to love it," they said

"is it cash," Gray asked. "I think we have enough of that."

"Juvia agrees," Juvia said

"I wouldn't mind taking some of his hands," Gajeel smiled "the guy must be rolling in jewels."

"it's not money, Gajeel," Mira said, "but you just have to trust us" Mira smiled.

"man, the best part of doing a job for the old man," Natsu smiled, "can't wait."

"The reward is of little importance," Erza said, "the satisfaction I get from a job well done is all I need."

"we'll see if you keep your tune when we get to the reward," Mira laughed, "and we both know if they offered you a giant strawberry cake, you would have jumped for joy."

"that's," Erza blushed, "not true."

Warren let out a loud laugh as he turned to face the group "well-done kids" he smiled, "there was no doubt in my bark that you kids couldn't pull it off."

"thank you very much, sir," Erza said, "you honor all of us."

"Hey, what happened to the treasure hunter creeps," Gray asked

"Me, Gajeel, and Wendy sent them packing" Lucy smiled

"We also discovered that tartaros might be the ones behind why the village was frozen," Wendy said

"I see," Warren said "well, that is a problem for the council," Warren said, "we have more important matters," he smiled, "such as your reward."

"We are getting paid," Lily said

"I mean, we did a job well done," Carla said

"here you go," Warren said as he pulled out a potato "you know what they say? Small potatoes are better than none," he laughed.

"umm, thank you," Lucy muttered.

"Oh, come on," Warren said, "like I would do that to you," as the group let out a sigh in relief, "but the potato did set me back, so I had to dock it out of your pay" Warren laughed.

"not funny old man," Natsu and Mira said.

"This feels amazing," Lucy said as she sank into the hot spring

"Now this is a reward," Wendy said

"I have to hand to Sir Warren," Erza said, "this has to be the most relaxed I've been in a while."

"Juvia's never been so happy," Juvia said as she leaned back, "so nice and warm."

"you boys okay over there," Erza asked

"we're fine," Gajeel said

"This is the life," Gray said

"I'm getting hungry," Lucy said

"Natsu and Mira did tell us to come and relax while they set everything up," Wendy said, "you think they're done."

"speaking of which," Juvia said, "you think that they know Warren," Juvia asked. "I mean, they wanted us to be on our best behavior," Juvia said, "but they seem so casual with him," Juvia noted, "almost like they've met him from before."

"maybe," Erza said. "I guess we can ask when we meet them," Erza said

"yeah"

"Thanks for the nums," Happy said

"I may be old, but I still know my way around a barbeque," Warren said

"Now this is the life," Natsu said

"Hey, don't start eating till the others get here," Mira told him.

"no need," Erza's voice said

"the way it smells, I wouldn't have been mad," Wendy said

"you can say that again," Gray said

"How nice of you to join us," a voice called. They turned to see Mavis walking up to the group with a drink in hand "care for a drink after a hard day's work," Mavis asked.

"Master," Erza asked, "when did you get here."

"a while ago," Mavis told her, " I wanted to catch up with an old friend," she smiled, "and see you, kids when you got back" she smiled.

"wait, old friend," Lucy asked as she took a drink "what's this," she asked.

"a nice tea made from the finest herbs," Mavis said smiling "go on, try some" the group all took a sip.

"those kids do whatever you tell them don't they" warren laughed as the group gagged.

"you aren't supposed to drink it" Natsu and Mira laughed as they poured it into their hands.

"you could have told us that," everyone screamed as Warren and Mavis laughed.

"Why am I the only one with a mushroom" Happy muttered

"something against mushrooms, Happy," Carla asked

"Long story," Happy muttered

"so, wait," Lucy asked, "that's why you guys were so uptight about this job," Lucy said. "Warren is an old friend of Mavis."

"oh, I see," Warren told them, "you haven't told them yet, haven't you" the smiles he got from Natsu, and Mira were all he needed to know "well, I guess we can let them in. On our little secret."

"if you say so," Mira smiled. "guys, I would like to formally introduce you to Warren Sequen, a proud member of the wizard saints," she said, "but what you don't know is that he is Mavis's sibling student and one of the founding members of the children of Magnolia. " Mira revealed as the group started in shock.

"he's what" Erza screamed

"founding member," Lucy said

"well, in my day," Warren stated, "We were called the guardian of magnolia. The name didn't change to children until Mavis started training students," Warren said, "it was actually old Makarov that coined the name with his group." He then looked to Erza, "so you must be the new blood" he smiled "some advice from your predecessor if I may" Warren said "the children are not scared protectors of the building or streets no they can be replaced and rebuilt" he said "our goal is to make sure that the people of magnolia is to live the way they choose" he smiled "magnolia is not a place it's a people" he smiled at her "our bonds are what allow us to stand stall and be as strong as we are"

"We have as many dreams as there are stars in the sky, and when we walk towards them together," Mavis smiled, "our goals will all come true," she said, smiling "you can rely on me, and I can rely on you."

"We must move forward," Mira started "for one day, I may need you as well, " Mira said, looking to the stars in the sky, "and it will be our trust in each other that see us through."

"whenever you are suffering, whenever you are sad," Natsu finished, "I will be there to make sure that you are not alone" he smiled as he looked at his friends, "we will share our joy and pain for all time."

"Now let us move forward," they all said in unison, "forever in tuned with the song of the fairies."

"that was," Juvia started.

"beautiful," Lucy muttered.

"that is our creed," Erza said, "to hear them spoken" she smiled. "I will take those words and live my life by them."

Later as the group had sat down and started eating, "Hey Warren," Natsu asked, "I need to ask you something."

"yes, my boy," Warren said

"you wouldn't happen to know about a demon called E.N.D," Natsu asked

"E.N.D" Warren and Mavis asked, "where did you hear that"

"Atlas Flame," Wendy said, "he told us that he was a demon from the book of Zeref

"apparently, my old man Igneel and that demon had beef," Natsu said. "I figured I could track him down if I found that demon."

"I don't say that I have," Warren said, "but Zeref, that's a name I haven't heard in a while." he sighed "that demon you seek, he might be connected with those Tartaros folks" he sighed "now I can't say much about the guild," Warren said "they are shrouded in secrecy, but people that have found there gathering sights say that their rituals involve worshiping demons" Warren explained, "and once more we of the gods of Ishgar have come to a conclusion is that they have a demon in their ranks."

"what," Lucy asked, "a demon."

"I'd bet all my jewel that demon is E.N.D," Wendy said

"damn it," Natsu said, "with every answer we get, we only get more questions."

"you'll find your way, my boy," Warren laughed "though I would remain cautious," Warren said, "demons of the book of Zeref are formidable foes."

"Yeah, I know," Natsu said. "I know," Natsu said, looking in the distance
