After being kicked out of Soda's room so he could rest, they went down to Reese's room, they saw that she was doing much better physically. She was also doing better mentally because of having therapy during her time in the hospital. She would be released from the hospital in a few days.

Bexley told her that Roy had been arrested. But there wasn't any news about the court hearing. At least not yet anyway.

(Midnight)

That night Bexley couldn't sleep. When Ponyboy got in bed, she had her back turned towards him. So he was none the wiser that she was awake.

She went into the kitchen to get a glass of water. After drinking it, she grabbed her cigarettes and went out on the porch, making sure to not wake her brothers up.

She took one out and lit it up. The orange embers was lightning up the darkness around her since the porch light was out. She took a long drag from it, blowing out the smoke.

She thought about earlier today when they visited Soda and Reese. A part of her was worried that Roy would get out on bail because he was a soc. She couldn't face him again, so going to court for this was terrifying.

When she was done, she put the cancer stick out and flung it across the yard. She got up and started making her way back inside. However, she couldn't see where she was going so she tripped over something, making her fall over.

"Waah! Shit!" she yelped as she fell on the wooden porch floor. She clenched her teeth and her green eyes nearly bulged out when she felt an extremely sharp pain in her right wrist.

She quickly held her wrist, and she started to shake. Hot, searing pain shot up her arm, making her stifle a cry of pain. How could she be so clumsy? This is the last thing she needs right now.

This didn't go unheard since her, Soda. and Pony's room was closest to the door. He heard the ruckus outside of the bedroom. He jumped out of bed, ran of the room, looking for the source of the sound.

He found the source of the sound from outside, so rushed over to the door. He opened the front door, where the sound increases ten-fold. "Bexley?!" he cried, going outside. He saw his younger sister sitting on the ground, holding her wrist; as if she hurt it or something.

The youngest Curtis boy knelt down in front of her, taking note of how she was holding it. "Are you okay? What happened?" he asked, reaching out for her arm. He barely touched it, and she flinched back violently with a loud gasp of pain.

"Stop! That hurts!" she yelled loudly, without meaning too. "Sorry, sorry. What happened?" he asked her. After a few deep breaths, she looked up at him with tears in her eyes. They were tears of agony. "I slipped... hurt my wrist. It really hurts," she panted.

"How bad? Like, is it sprained?" he asked. "I don't know..." she gasped, gritting her teeth. "We need to tell Darry," he said, helping her to her feet.

Bexley didnt complain; she was hurting too much to care. Ponyboy set Bexley on the couch, giving her a pillow to elevate her arm.

"Stay here. I'll get him," Ponyboy said. Bexley gently nodded.

After he got Darry, he saw the damage of Bexley's wrist. ynHe hated that he had to leave with only a few hours of sleep, but he knew that he couldn't leave her here to suffer.

(The Hospital)

They make it to the hospital less than half an hour. The doctors checked her over and found that her wrist was badly sprained from the fall. He wrapped it with a cast, prescribed pain killers, and told, her to keep it elevated on a pillow when Bexley sleeps.

They were told it'd take Bexley about 2-10 weeks before her wrist completely healed. But if they do what the doctor says, it should be sooner.

They went home at around four in the morning since it was a long process. Darry told Bexley that he'd pick her medicine up in the morning. Since tomorrow was Saturday night, Darry allowed Ponyboy and Bexley to visit Soda and Reese tomorrow. However, there would be another problem involved.
