Since it was just to be the two of them, Adalind suggested that she and Nick have dinner at her place.
As Nick drove to Adalind's home, he racked his brain for a way to let her know he had no intention of pressuring her into anything. While he knew he loved her with all of his being, she didn't know him well enough to be in love with him. So of course he was more than interested in taking things to a more physical level, he was sure Adalind wasn't ready yet.
During the same time, Adalind was wondering if maybe she was wrong to believe Nick wanted to take things slow. She thought she was supposed to take her time and figure out if they could have a relationship that would not be based on the physical. But if the blutbad could see how much they wanted each other, maybe they were denying themselves for nothing.
There was only one way to find out.
Nick, being the sweetheart and the gentleman that he was, helped carry in most of the purchased items, and helped put them away.
After setting down the items she brought in, Adalind took her kettle and filled it with water. She then brought out a small wooden chest with loose herbs in it.
"Special tea for hexenbiests." Adalind explained. "I have earl grey and other varieties if you would like a cup."
He smiled and nodded.
When they sat down to eat, Nick finally got the courage to address what Monroe had brought up.
"Look, Adalind, about what Monroe said. I want you to know that I fully intend to go at your speed. I won't do anything or go anywhere until you say so."
The seductive look Adalind gave him made Nick's heart race and his appetite for food disappear.
"And what if I want you? What if I want more from you, and I'm interested in taking several steps in a certain direction, tonight?"
Everything in Nick wanted to jump at the chance to be with Adalind, to just get up from his chair and take her in his arms, but he knew he couldn't do anything without making sure they were both moving forward for the right reasons. He needed to do things right to ensure they would be together for the rest of their lives.
"You have no idea how much I want you. But I can't if you are only with me to spite Sean or because you see me as your protector."
"I want to be with you because I feel wanted and desired for being myself. You don't look at me like I'm a powerful witch that can benefit you. And you don't look at me like all you see is a body that can pleasure you. The way you look at me both frightens and excites me because it's so intense. It's like you see all that I am and want it all. Like I'm your world and you never want to let me go."
"I didn't realize I was being that obvious." Nick smiled.
"You do have a rather expressive face." She returned his smile.
The food was abandoned as they moved to one another and their lips met in a kiss that started slow and tender but soon became inflamed with passion and desire.
Hands gripped tight, each trying to get as close to the other as possible.
Nick picked Adalind up and carried her to the bedroom. Relief to finally be in the moment flooded them both.
But as Nick laid her on the bed, he realized they were missing something. "Fuck, Adalind, I'm sorry."
Adalind started to panic, thinking he was having second thoughts about them being together. Then she relaxed when he revealed,
"I don't have anything."
As much as Nick wanted to have a family with Adalind, and hoping that he would be getting Diana and Kelly back, with him being the father of both this time around, Nick knew it wasn't yet time to be starting on that family.
Understanding what he meant, she confessed, "Hexenbiest have a way to ensure they can't catch any diseases or conceive. An easy to make potion and, viola, sex with all of the feeling and none of the risk."
He cupped her face and kissed her passionately, relieved that they would be able to continue.
"Oh, thank god. Do you need to go make that now?"
She giggled and revealed, "I already took it. "
"The hexenbiest tea." He said in realization. "You knew we would be making love."
"I hoped."
He claimed her lips with his own again; too overwhelmed to say anything more.
Adalind, eager to have Nick's flesh pressed against hers, tried to hurry him out of his clothes. But Nick refused to rush and stilled her hands.
"Ladies first." He insisted.
He took his time, removing every article of clothing from her slowly, gliding his tongue over every new inch of skin revealed to him.
She sighed and buried her fingers through his hair as he made his way down her body.
Nick remembered every inch of Adalind's body. He remembered which spots to avoid and which spots would make her melt.
Using all of that knowledge to make her fall in love with him again may have been cheating, but Nick didn't care. He needed Adalind back in his arms on a permanent basis.
Besides, wasn't the saying, "All's fair in love and war"?
Adalind was amazed at how perfect it was. How perfect Nick was. He seemed to know everything she wanted, doing everything just right. She wondered if it was because of Nick's skills as a grimm or if he was just that good.
Either way, she was determined to have him as often as she could for as long as she could.
And when Nick finally removed his shirt, the hexenbiest in Adalind vowed to destroy anyone who would try to take him away from her.
She wrapped her arms and legs around him as he pulled her to him. Their eyes met and stayed on one another as he slid inside her.
She was so wet and so hot and he was so hard that neither one could prevent their eyes from closing and the trembling moan from escaping as they became one.
Their flesh felt every moan and sigh as they moved together. Nick continuously had his lips pressed to Adalind the entire time, anywhere he could reach. Adalind did the same.
For any space to be between them seemed almost blasphemous.
Nick could not hold her close enough. Tight enough. He needed their very souls to become one.
Adalind gripped tight to Nick, her eyes fluttered and moan after moan escaped her lips.
"So good, baby, so good." She proclaimed, catching her breath as another wave of bliss washed over her.
Nick buried his face into her neck as he rutted into her. He inhaled her scent, trying to get it deep into his lungs to have it with him always.
Adalind gripped one hand tight to his hair and the other to his shoulder. She called out as her whole body trembled.
Nick tried to hold back as long as he could, determined to bring Adalind to the heights of pleasure as many times as possible.
But even a grimm could not last forever.
Nick grabbed onto Adalind's hair at the scalp to force her lips to meet his. His tongue slipped in to tangle with hers as he held her tightly to him, his release an eruption of relief.
His hold on her never loosed as they came down from their high. Even as their bodies cooled from their rush, the two could not stop kissing every area their lips could reach.
Adalind smiled contentedly as she peppered kisses all over Nick's chest.
He gazed at her adoringly as he continuously petted her hair and along her body.
When their eyes met, Adalind was almost frightened by the emotions she saw on Nick's face.
She could not understand who anyone could look at her like she was his whole world. But she was more than happy to see if she could spend the rest of her life being looked at like that by Nick.
Which was good, because he was just as determined to spend the rest of his life looking at her.
