Nick was not just a grimm, he was also a trained detective. His whole career was about seeing a suspicious situation whenever it arose. And he could most certainly tell when he was being followed.
Nick parked in front of Adalind's place and went in.
"I have a couple of Reapers tailing me."
Adalind looked surprised for a moment, but soon adjusted her posture to one Nick knew as her "getting ready for a fight" stance.
There was a loud crash as the door flew open and two men came charging in, each carrying a sycle.
The moment they saw Nick and Adalind, they woged, obviously in an attempt to intimidate and frighten. But they were the ones frightened when Adalind woged, revealing herself to be a hexenbiest.
They're moment of shock gave Nick the opening to charge and knock down one reaper, taking his scythe. The other took a wild swing at the grimm, but his weapon was easily blocked by Nick's, who swung with great strength, forcing the reaper's scythe to fly lower, going into the neck of his partner on the ground. Nick then kicked the second reaper in the knee, forcing him down, then swung the scythe again, removing his head as well.
"This is a little different than it happened the last time." Nick thought to himself.
"It's a good thing I'm a hexenbiest or this would be a bitch to clean up." Adalind commented in an even tone, completely unfazed by the dead bodies and the blood spilling on her floor.
She then went to her kitchen cupboard under the sink and got out garbage bags and duct tape.
Nick called Monroe and told him what happened.
Just as before, Monroe suggested sending both heads to the address both reapers had in their wallets.
"It's as clear a message as you can get." Adalind remarked as they wrapped the bodies in the plastic bags and placed the heads in a sealed leak proof box.
"I have a friend who works for a courier service, we can send the box without any worry." Monroe offered.
The blutbad and the grimm carried the bodies to Nick's truck. Thanks to Adalind using a little hexenbiest magic, their actions were kept hidden by the neighbors.
While the men went to bury the bodies, Adalind cleaned up the blood. Using some potions, not a single trace of the attack remained by the time Nick returned.
Two days later.
"Nick, baby, would you mind telling me why three eisbiber women showed up at my law firm with large baskets of muffins?"
"Oh, did I forget to tell you that the eisbiber community knows you're my girlfriend and that you helped take down those troll wesen who were extorting them?"
Adalind could practically hear his cheeky grin.
"Nick! Seriously! It is not going to help the ruthless image I need for my job if everyone thinks I'm a big softy with eisbiber friends."
"Just remind them that your boyfriend is a grimm, that should continue to make them fear you."
"Nick, you have the softest heart of anyone I know. Eventually, every other wesen will learn that and you being a grimm will stop being so intimidating."
Grimm
Becoming friends with the eisbiber community gave Nick the assurance that it was now the right time to introduce Hank and Wu to the wesen world.
He knew it was better to do it sooner rather than later. The last thing he wanted was for his friends to be traumatized like they were in the previous timeline.
With eisbiber being so adorable looking, they were a much better choice to have as a first time wesen encounter.
While Nick loved Adalind, and in a different way Monroe, he knew their woge would be frightening for anyone not used to seeing humans changing into beasts.
Though it would be even better to have a beautiful wesen around as well.
Nick wished Rosalee was already in Portland and his life. Not only was she a dear friend, and an amazing ally, but she was also beautiful in both her human and wesen form.
Nick wasn't sure whether to think the staff or simply the change of fate, but Nick's desire to have the fuchsbau in his life sooner was fulfilled when Adalind asked him to pick her up some herbs from her favorite spice shop.
Grimm
"It's a grimm!" Freddy shouted.
"I'm just here to get ingredients for my hexenbiest girlfriend!" Nick said quickly and loudly, trying to calm the fuchsbau shopkeeper.
"Hexenbiest girlfriend?" Freddy asked in puzzlement, instantly calming down.
"Yes, hexenbiest girlfriend. She's busy working and asked me to pick her up some things she needs."
Nick handed the shopkeeper the list of things Adalind requested.
"These are ingredients for an Infertili tea" The fuchsbau said. Once again, he looked wide eyed at Nick. "A grimm and a hexebiest having sex?!"
"As often as we can." Nick replied with a cheeky grin. "But since she's not ready to have kids, she wants her special tea."
"Rosalee, will you come help me gather the things this customer needs?" Frederick called.
It was Nick's turn to be wide eyed as he saw his friend and the future wife of Monroe walk in from the side room.
"He's a grimm." Freddy motioned his head at Nick. "And he's dating a hexenbiest."
Rosalee looked at Nick in surprise.
Nick held out his hand. "I'm Nick. Nick Burkhardt."
Rosalee took his hand and shook it. "Rosalee Calvert."
"I'm also friends with a wieder blutbad who repairs clocks. And recently all three of us were sort of adopted by the eisbiber community."
Rosalee laughed out loud. "You certainly sound like you have an interesting life. And are not like any grimm I have ever heard of."
"I've always done my best to defy expectations."
