Anna smiled as she led the group to a small house "you all are welcome to come inside," she said to the members of the Oracion seis, "you can rest inside.
"we're good," Cobra said. Anna nodded as she led Meredy and Richard inside. He sighed as he looked back 'what's stopping me from running right now' he thought. He then remembered that there was a wizard saint with them. He sighed as he looked at Angel "you alright."
"mind you're business," Angel said as she walked away, leaving her confused friends behind right now; her mind was everywhere 'could she be alive' she asked herself 'she should be dead' she wondered as she looked at the house before letting out a defeated sigh before walking to the house 'I'm getting answers' as she stepped inside to see the house it was small. one table and two beds which now held the injured Jellal and Wendy Carla lying on her lap as she looked at Meredy "you okay" the girl seemed to be in shell shock.
"yeah," Meredy whispered as she looked around. This place smelled like the rainforest and coffee beans. just like her house, she sighed as she looked to the ground "just," Meredy whispered, "this place brings back memories," she said as she looked around, she could see almost like it was spirits
"Meredy, it's time for a bath," Myra called as a younger Meredy ran through the room.
"No bath," Meredy cried as she ran through the small house as Myra laughed at the girl's antics. "Baths are for suckers" she cried as she ran in circles
"I thought your mother liked it when you were nice and clean" Myra laughed as she caught the girl who blew a raspberry as. Myra smiled at her. It was warm as Meredy hugged her as they went to the bath as Meredy gave her a toothy grin.
Tartaros arc Part III: A monster's tale
"How is he," Meredy asked
"This injury is pretty Sever," Anna said. "I'm not sure how long it will take for me to heal him" she looked him over as Jellal moved around in pain. Meredy looked at her friend with concern before placing a hand on his shoulder as Jellal started to calm down "he took a piercing spell directly to the chest," Anna said "from what it looks like, Zero hit nothing important," she said "but this magic is dangerous" she sighed "it will be a miracle if he survives."
"if Wendy were up, she could heal him," Rossello muttered as she looked at the dragon slayer who, like Jellal, was out cold. The girl, however, was calmed and looked exhausted "what did this to her"
"in time," Anna said as she looked at Meredy "you're injured, young one," Anna said to her "come, I will apply first aid."
"I'm fine," Meredy said as she sat against the wall. "I just need a minute."
"nonsense," Anna said "come here, and I will wrap up some of those injuries," she said as Meredy looked away. "I'll do my best to help them both" Anna said as she left to go find another first aid kit
"yes, friend Meredy," Richard said, "fear not, I will keep an eye on our friends here."
"I guess," Meredy said as she looked to Angel, who was still standing at the door, an uncomfortable look on her face as Meredy smiled "you want to talk," Meredy asked. "Sorano," she smiled as the girl glared at her.
"don't call me that," Angel shouted. "I gave up that name when I joined the Oracion Seis," she cried. "Sorano Agria is dead," she called as she walked to Meredy, "and don't you forget it, white terror."
"I guess I'll tell Yukino the bad news" the look of horror on Angel's face was all she needed to see as she backed up.
"how do you know that name" Angel growled as she walked up to Meredy Anna made a move, but Meredy waved her off "how the hell do you know that name" she screamed
"I met her when I was in Crocus," Meredy told her, smiling as she grabbed a seat leaning back as she looked over, "got trapped in a dungeon, and I met this girl" she looked at Sorano "she smelled a lot like you I might add."
"what," Angel asked again.
"Yeah, she's a nice kid," Meredy said, "but she said something that caught my attention," she said, "apparently, her sister was taken away by Zeref cultist" she looked at Angel. "you wouldn't happen to know anything about that would ya" Meredy said her face adopting a teasing grin
"your lying," Angel said, her voice choking as help back tears as Meredy reached into her chest and pulled out a photo handing it to Angel, who looked it over "no," she whispered as tears formed on her face, "she's grown so much," she said as tears started to appear on her face as Richard brought her in for a hug "I'm such a fool" she cried.
"it's alright, my friend," Richard said, "from someone who also lost their brother" he smiled. "I understand the feeling but look at it this way," he said as he smiled "she's out there living her life," he said "and one day you will see her again"
Anna returned to the room with a first aid kit as she looked at Angel "is she okay."
"she'll be fine," Richard said, "just a lot on her mind."
"I see," Anna said as
Meredy looked out the window; she could feel something, a presence she hadn't felt since "stay here with Wendy," she whispered as Anna looked at her "you feel it"
"yes," Anna said
"I'll take care of it," Meredy said
"Come on," Racer said as he looked to his two companions who had remained outside with him; Cobra said nothing, playing with a snake he had found "is the freedom too much for you," Racer asked "can't live without a master watching your back," he asked "we just got out of Jail, and we got free of Brain," he said "we finally have a chance for no one to tell us what to do," he said as he looked at Midnight "come on Midnight say something," he said
"quiet Racer," Cobra said, "your brain might actually be able to think for once," Cobra muttered.
"I refuse to be a pawn in someone else's game." Midnight said, "but."
"I ever tell you how much I hate that word," Racer said as Cobra laughed "you are laughing at me."
"naw," Cobra said, "just heard a voice I thought dead," Cobra said, "thought you died on Tenrou Island."
"is that so" a voice called, "I'd accuse you of faithlessness, but I thought you'd be in prison for the rest of your lives" it was Rustyrose, a former member of the seven kin of Purgatory and one of its few surviving members. he had looked better his hair now being very messy and unorganized and has also gotten spiky. He appears to have grown a beard and sideburns and wears a new jacket with the Grimoire Heart emblem on the back, which is dark purple. "so, might I ask what is the Oracion Seis is doing? Here."
"well, I thought I recognized that smell," Meredy said as she came out looking at Rusty.
"Meredy," Rustyrose muttered, "you're with them now," he asked, "what is that about."
"it's hard to explain," Meredy said "you look terrible," she said, "what happened to you."
"trust is like iron," Rustyrose told her, "for if you neglect, it corrodes over time," he said. "I have no business with you," he said
"wait, Rusty," Meredy said, "please, for old time's sake."
"The past is dead." Rustyrose said "bury it"
"Now, wait a minute," Cobra said, "your old friend isn't the only one who wants answers," Cobra said "it's in your voice. You're scared," he said, "never took you for a pushover," he laughed as he got in front of him "now talk."
"Please, Rusty," Meredy whispered, "just tell me what happened to you."
"I don't think you'll give me a choice, will you," Rustyrose asked
"There is always a choice," Meredy said
"I was at Tartaros," Rustyrose revealed to them
"with the nine demon gates," Cobra asked
"yes," Rustyrose told him, "but there is something else," he said "it was seven years ago after our defeat at the hands of fairy tail," he said, "me master Hades, and Kain tried to escape," he sighed, "but Zeref appeared and killed master Hades before my very eyes, I was then knocked out" Rustyrose reveled "I awake days later adrift at sea," he said "our guildmates scattered to the wind," he said
"so, you don't know where Kain is," Meredy asked.
"no," Rustyrose said. He looked back to Meredy the air became cold as rain started to come from the sky "the barem alliance was the political backbone of the dark guild world," he said, "even after we all went into hiding," he said, "Grimoire heart got its heart stuffed out, and the allied forces threw your guild into a dungeon." he sighed "and over the years I've heard a rumor."
"what are you trying to say," Racer asked
"the guilds that once followed Grimoire heart were wiped out," Rustyrose said, "with massacres that would make Meredy here blush," he said, "it was Tartaros."
Flashback
several explosions rang across the cube as several men rushed outside to see Rustyrose, Azuma, and Zancrow attacking the ground gates "what are you here for" a demon shouted, "tell us now."
"We are men who don't take nonsense from cowardly dogs who turn on their allies the moment they sense weakness," Azuma shouted.
"look, we have no interest in you minion types," Zancrow called "take us to your bosses," he screamed, "and we're in a pretty crappy mood."
"kill them" a group of demons shouted as Azuma blew them up
"I wanted to save this rage for your bosses, but I guess this will do," Zancrow screamed "{Flame gods: Bellow}" Zancrow called.
"Who are you," a guard asked.
"We are members of Grimoire hearts seven kin," Rustyrose said, "your former confederates," he laughed, "bleed quick now."

"you must forgive me," Kyoka said as she turned to face the group "we are not accustomed to such well-given visits."
"yes, but this is tame compared to the barbaric attacks you've done," Rustyrose said
"We should introduce ourselves," Kyoka said. "I am Kyoka of the nine demon gates of Tartaros."
"I am Rustyrose of the seven kin of Purgatory," Rustyrose said
"I am Azuma," Azuma said
"and I'm Zancrow," Zancrow said, "We belong to the guild Grimore heart."
"you belong to Grimore heart," Kyoka laughed, "and the Barem Alliance, both that guild and the alliance, are long forgotten relics," Kyoka said
"are you having trouble with your eyes," Azuma asked
"I'll give you the forgotten part," Zancrow said, "but if we were relics, then what happened to your guards."
"three bitter failures," Kyoka said, "the barem alliance dissolved when tartaros became the last guild standing."
"what do you mean the last guild standing," Zancrow asked, "we're standing right in front of you."
"tell me," Azuma asked "do you know what you've done," Azuma asked. "did you willfully violate the basic terms of the alliance."
"am I on trial then," Kyoka said
"you assaulted our guilds," Rustyrose, "killed most, and abducted the rest for Zeref knows what." he then glared at Kyoka, "and you must pay"
"Please, if you're after bereavement, you will not find it here," Kyoka said. "I am a busy person, so please see yourselves out."
"We are not here to talk peace," Rustyrose told her, "but you already know that" Kyoka led them to another room, and she motioned for them to sit down.
"I'm listing," she said
"the peace between us has been broken, and your guild is at fault," Azuma said, "to restore it, you must make reparations."
"must I," Kyoka asked, smiling, her eyes never leaving Rustyrose
"Children won't fear fire until they are burned," Rustyrose said, "so that I why you must pay the price," he told her.
"and what is that price," Kyoka asked, "you have me curious."
"We want half of the guild members you abducted back," Azuma said, "and as a show of good faith, we ask nothing of the dead," Azuma said
"I was against giving you jerks this deal in the first place," Zancrow said, "so be smart and take it," he said as Kyoka smiled.
"all things considered," Rustyrose was stopped when a sting of pain rang through his body as he fell over.
"what did you do to him" Azuma screamed
"the art of enhancement," Kyoka smiled "hearing human pain brings me such an exhilaration," Kyoka said as she fired a shot at Rustyrose as he fell to the ground Zancrow, and Azuma froze where they stood.
"my comrades," Rustyrose muttered as pain shot through his body as Kyoka fired a shot destroying the left eye of his glasses. She smiled as Azuma and Zancrow vanished from sight as Kyoka attacked him again.
"The arc of embodiment, right" Kyoka asked "how pathetic" she laughed as Rusty fell to the ground.
"who," he asked as he looked behind her; someone was standing there, the shadow covering his body.
"you aren't even worth torturing," Kyoka laughed as she stood over him, looking back. She saw what he saw as she looked down "scurry on home" she whispered, "with you imaginary friends," she said, "the age of Zeref will begin soon," she said, "and the world will forever change."

"and that's it," Rustyrose said as Meredy turned away from him
'Tartaros' Meredy muttered "could they be trying to contact Zeref? Why," she said, "I know there all demons of the books of Zeref" she looked away. Fairy tail was currently fighting against them. they were after a weapon that was the reason Wendy came to them injured like she was.
"I know that look," Rustyrose said "you're thinking of going to fight them," Rustyrose asked. "I've heard that fairy tail and the nine demon gates have gone to war," he said, "not even they stand a chance."
"I have to go," Meredy said as she looked at the house "thanks for the chat, Rusty" she looked away, "Be safe out there" she looked back at him, "if you want to stay, you can; I won't stop you."
"Please," Rustyrose said. "I would rather face the flames of hell than go back to Tartaros," Rustyrose said as he left the group. As Meredy went back to the house, Rustyrose shook his head as he watched the girl leave going. Away he looked at the few members of the Oracion seis
As Meredy reentered the house, she was greeted with the sight of Carla sitting up on the bed. "Meredy," Carla whispered as she shook her head "where are we," she asked.
"our friend here," she gestured to Anna, "saved the two of you from getting blown up," Meredy told her "what happened"
"Tartaros was planning on using a weapon called FACE," Carla said as the memories returned to her as she looked to see Wendy's resting form next to her "if that thing went off, we would have lost all magic."
"all magic," Angel asked
"that's horrible," Richard said "what could they hope to gain by doing that"
"I don't know," Carla said, "but Wendy and I were able to stop it," she said, "but are friends there currently fighting off the other members."
"I see" Meredy looked outside "I need to move," she said, "will Jellal be safe here."
"yes," Anna said. "I will watch over him for you," Anna said
"we'll come to," Carla said. "Wendy needs to be there," she said
"why," Meredy asked, "you two are injured."
"even if you leave when Wendy gets up, she's going to have me fly her back," Carla said as Anna walked up "we learned something on our last job," she said. "there's a demon at tartaros from the book of Zeref," Carla said "its name is E.N.D," Carla explained as she looked at Wendy "over four hundred years ago, it did battle with Igneel."
"what," Meredy asked, "are you sure."
"yes, we heard this information from Atlas flame," Carla said
"if you plan to fight Tartaros, you should meet up with Dornbolt," Anna said, "he can get you there easier."
"right," Meredy said as she looked at Richard and Angel, "what about you two."
"We should ask our comrades," Richard said as he looked at Angel
"right," Meredy said as she picked up Wendy, putting her on her back. Wendy shifted as Carla stood up
"Are you sure you're okay, Carla?" Rossello asked
"I'll be fine," Carla said "let's go" as they walked outside to see Cobra, Midnight, and Racer standing at the door.
"you're seriously going to face them," Cobra asked
"Yeah, I am," Meredy said as she looked back 'please get better, Jellal," she asked as the man lay there motionless "if you wanna come, you can come."

"are you crazy" Racer screamed "we still have our pack with them," he said, "not to mention why," he said, "you think that you'll get some vindication," Racer asked, "that it will make people believe in you"
"There is someone out there," Meredy said, "someone who won't give up on me," she said as she looked back at Wendy. "besides, Tartaros has answers I want," she said as she left "don't worry," she said "I will be back," she said as she left them there.
"Meredy," Anna called as she walked up to her placing a hand on her cheek. "I know you have questions," Anna told her, "and I know that" she stopped, "you will find the redemption you seek" she smiled. "E.N.D is a threat to everything you hold dear," she told her, "but I do not doubt that you can help Natsu overcome that challenge" while Meredy couldn't see it, Anna smiled.
"what do you mean," Meredy said. "I'm going to help him fight that monster, if anything."
"I know you will," Anna said "you, Wendy, and Gajeel, all of you will have to stand by his side when he does," she said "so go," she told her "your friend will be safe, but he needs you now," Meredy said nothing as she turned to leave adjusting Wendy on her back Anna wanted to stop her. She watched as the girl left. 'Meredy,' she whispered, 'please forgive me I failed you,' she thought as she watched the girl leave. 'I failed you,' she looked at Angel, who had yet to leave the girl's gaze "you want to go with her, don't you."?
"I don't know what I want anymore," Angel admitted as she looked at the photo. "for so long, my prayer was to vanish from this sinful world," she whispered, "but she's still here in it," she said "there no telling how much she suffered" she cried "but I can't" she stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Follow your heart," she smiled as she looked at Meredy
Angel said nothing as she walked forward "you're not serious," Racer said "what about our pack" he screamed
"then I'm leaving the Oracion seis," Angel said as she left to follow Meredy as her former guildmates watched. She left as Anna went back to caring for Jellal as. Richard turned to offer her his assistance

"why'd are you come with me," Meredy asked
"I don't know," Angel replied. "I just feel that" she looked away, "that if I go, I might get some answers from fairy tail," she said. "I might be able to see her again," she said
"I see," Meredy said "can you look her in the eyes," Meredy asked
"I don't know," Angel said, "but" she looked away. "I need to see it for myself," she said. "I spent so long in that tower," she said. "I lost my childhood," she said "it was more painful than I'd ever care to admit. then the one chance we had to escape Jellal," she sighed, "he betrayed us and forced us to stay there."
"I know," Meredy said. "I'm sure you can find it, Sorano," she said
"don't," she looked away. "I won't be Sorano again till I confirm that my sister is alive."
Anna sighed. She wiped Jellals face with a towel. She was finally able to stop the bleeding, but there was still water from the hole in his chest. It was a miracle he had gotten this far "might I ask you something" came the voice of Richard. She looked at him, giving him a nod "why don't you tell her the truth" he asked.
"what do you mean," Anna asked him
"I can see it in your eyes," he said "there is a love between you and Meredy," he said "you seem concerned about her well-being in a motherly way, is what I'm saying," he said as Anna looked away.
"you could say that," Anna said "their parents," Anna told him, "there is so much that I should tell them, but."
"you're scared," Richard said, "of ruing their lives."
"I could ask you the same thing," she said. "I can tell that you want to join them as well," she said "same with your friend Erik," she said, "but why."
"Jellal has many enemies," Richard said, "and I want to help him by watching over him."
"I see," Anna said
"you do remember he's the reason we never left the tower of heaven," came to the voice of Cobra as he came into the house, looking around "stop mentioning my name, and I won't show up," Cobra said as Racer and Midnight came in "wanted to get out of the rain."
"you are welcome in here," Anna said, "do you wish to ask me something."
"yeah," Cobra said, "like who the hell are you? There's not a lot of people I can't hear," he asked.
"live as long as I have, young man," Anna said, "and you pick skills to deal with your kind," she said, "but I know what you're thinking," Anna said, "you're thinking about your comrade."
"Sorano has lost her mind," Cobra said,
"or maybe she's tired of running." Anna said, "so long as you let your past hold you," she said, "you will never be truly free," she said, "these prayers you have are shackles, all of them simple wishes that you can earn yourselves," she said, "only you can free yourself."
"I feel like I heard that before" Cobra whispered. "I think"
"What is your prayer," Anna asked
"to hear the voice of my one true friend," Cobra muttered
"then go hear it," Anna said "earn the right to hear it," she smiled, "they will listen, and they will help you" she smiled, "everyone has that person out there that will believe in them."
"and what if we don't," Midnight asked "what if," he said when he was stopped by Anna placing a hand on his face wiping away the tears as she smiled at him giving him a nod of approval
"then," Anna said
"you just have to believe in yourself."
"come on," Meredy said. "Carla, you okay."
"yes, I'm fine," Carla said "my strength is returning slowly," she said, "can you smell Dornbolt."
"yeah," Meredy said, "got a lock on his scent" she stopped "get down," she screamed as she pushed Angel to the ground as the tower of Dingir appeared from the ground. "what is this"
"that would be me, my dear," a voice called as Rustyrose. appeared from the shadows
"so did you plan on attacking us after all" Meredy asked
"no," Rustyrose said, "I merely came to prevent you from making a mistake," he smiled, "and to bring you back into the fold," he smiled, "to turn you back into the monster that you were"
"no," Rossello tried to move but was stopped by Zancrow getting in front of her "hold on, Meredy."
"Stay where you are," Meredy screamed as she looked back to Rustyrose "and if I refuse," Meredy asked.
"then I will persuade you," he said as Azuma appeared, grabbing Wendy by the throat.
"let her go," Carla shouted as she tried to move but failed due to her still weakened body "please don't hurt her."
"Rusty," Meredy whispered, "don't do this," she said
"oh, are you going to stop me," he asked as the tower shattered as Meredy landed on the ground, a shadow covering her face showing her red eyes. As she stood up, a blast fired as Cobra hit Azuma away "what, Cobra" Rustyrose shouted as he grabbed Wendy sitting her next to Angel.
"what are you doing here."
"what we should have done ages ago," Midnight said as he came from the shadows. "freeing ourselves"
"Rusty stop this" Meredy made a move when she was grabbed by Hades, who glared at her as Zancrow landed next to her, "you told me the past was dead," Meredy shouted, "but it seems like you're trapped in it," she screamed as Hades strengthen his grip. Still, Meredy managed to break free, jumping away as she landed and gripped her risk. "I'm not that person anymore."
"so what, you're going run into battle with Tartaros" Rustyrose screamed "you're going to walk away, hoping that this will cleanse you of your sins" he shouted "you believe that doing this will clear your doubt," Rustyrose called, "but for being such as you and I," he looked away, "there is no way out." he said as Meredy stopped "your leading these people to their deaths."
"so, you should just come back with us, Meredy," Zancrow said
"yes, Meredy," a voice called as Meredy turned to see Ultear walking up to her "this is where we belong," she smiled "in the darkness. Everyone is here," she said as more of her old guildmates appeared around her "we are the only people who understand your pain"
"yes," Hades said, finally walking up to her. "Grimoire heart can live on, my dear," he smiled as he reached his hand out, "all we need is you."
"Don't listen to them, Meredy," Midnight screamed "it's just another prison," he shouted as Angel stopped him
"let her do this," she whispered.
"these are her demons," Cobra muttered.
"It felt like so long ago," Meredy whispered "can I tell you a story, Rusty," she asked as she looked away. "This is the tale of a monster," she said as Rusty stopped. "this story begins after a child would lose their parent," Meredy started "they would be taken in by a family they would care them raise them in that parent's stead," Meredy said everyone had gone silent looking at the girl, "but they didn't fit in more so they didn't feel human" she looked away "they were a stranger in a strange land, but there was the person they said they understood them they said that unlike everyone else that they understood what they were," Meredy said as Rustyrose looked at her calming his stance "and in the end, they decided to forsake everything they had to help this person achieve a dream."
"So, is this supposed to be your story," Rustyrose asked? "Grimoire heart was no mere dream, Meredy."

"his name was Natsu dragneel," Meredy revealed, shocking everyone there as the air went silent "he turned his back on the people that loved him for someone who made him think they understood him," she said as their fight played in her mind.
"I know you think you're a monster," Natsu shouted, dodging another attack. "I know that you pushed away everyone who cares about you," he screamed, memories of the fight between him and Mira flashing in his mind "that you shut out the one person who loved you more than anything," he screamed. "You think you can only trust yourself," Natsu shouted as he punched her again, "that strength and power are the only things you can rely on."
"Shut up," Meredy said,"{snow dragons: talon}" as Natsu slid back, "you think caring for others will change anything" she screamed, "that if you open your heart that others won't look down on you, that it will make you stronger" Meredy screamed, "that having friends and family will always care for you no matter what" Meredy shouted, "that these pathic people you fight for that you love and trust will repay that kindness."
"your wrong"
"but in the end," Meredy said, "they forgave him" she smiled as she looked back at Rustyrose "they still showed him that kindness," she admitted "they still loved him" she whispered as she looked around
"he's the one," Cobra said, "he's the person that won't give up on you."
"I don't know why," Meredy admitted "what he sees in me, I don't know," Meredy admitted as she thought about herself compared to him. In contrast, he gained friends she was forced to move alone for years. She always thought about where she would be if she went down the other road, and he is that person he what she would be "but I will do my best to make sure I understand why."
"so, you traded one master for another," Rustyrose screamed "don't you see it is holding you back" he shouted as he attacked her with a sword which Meredy caught.
"no," Meredy said, "it's more than that, Rusty." as she punched him in the stomach, causing all the members of Grimoire heart to vanish. "because of him, I'm able to let go of the past," she said "I can move forward I founded Crime Sorcière, and I've found people that love me for who I am," Meredy said her gaze shooting to Wendy "people that" Meredy stopped "people that I can call family."
"you're wrong," Rustyrose shouted, "you are letting them corrupt you, Meredy."
"no," Meredy said, "I merely stepped out of the dark," Meredy noted, "all they did, was show me how," Meredy said as she thought of her younger self, scared and alone, surrounded by shadows and darkness. Still, a light shined around her as a younger Natsu came up to her, reaching as she grabbed his hand "and you can too," Meredy said as she started to leave.
"she's going to be okay," Midnight told her "my path is my own," he said to Meredy, "but I respect the ones that my comrades are taking."
"Thanks, Midnight," Angel said.

"Wendy," Carla said as the girl opened her eyes
"Are you okay?" Rossello asked
"where am I," Wendy asked, "what are the Oracion Seis doing here."
"long story, sis," Meredy said as she helped her to her feet, leaning her on her shoulder "come on," she said
"We gotta get back," Wendy said, "the others"
"don't worry, we'll get there," Meredy said "just hang on," Meredy said as she looked back to Rustyrose, who had tears running down his face "there's a place for you among us as well, Rusty," Meredy said "when you're ready you can come to," she said as she leads the group away. "because I believe we all have a chance at redemption"

"I need to hurry," Happy called as he rushed through the cube. "Natsu is counting on me."
"Mira," Natsu called as he ran through the cube, "where are you, sis" damn it," he muttered.
"can you smell her," Lucy asked
"naw," Natsu said, "this place is like a maze," he said as he walked through the place "no telling what there hiding here," Natsu said as he and Lucy continued to move deep into the cube a demon sits in a room a smile on his face.
"the demons of the books of Zeref," he whispered, "otherwise known as the Etherious" it was a tall, lean, and had the appearance of a young man. Often seen wearing a smirk, Mard Geer's dark purple hair is long and wavy, reaching his shoulders even while the majority is tied up in a large ponytail. Additionally, his messy bangs all but obscure his dark, slanted eyes. For clothing, the demon dons a long, black jacket trimmed with a light-colored flame pattern; the lapels are a matching lighter color as well. The cuffs of his jacket are rolled up, revealing a light-colored inside, which contrasts the black outside of his coat, and have a black line cutting through the edge of the fabric. The jacket is tattered and splits into four torn fabric segments at the tail. Beneath the coat, he wears a frilly black V-necked shirt, lined in a lighter color, that closes the middle and is adorned with a buckle just below his clavicle; just below this is a piece of fabric that keeps over this shirt but under his jacket, that circles much of the lower half of his torso. The rest of his attire is simple, consisting of light-colored pants that lay lazily over the top of rather plain black boots and have, on each leg, a seam running down the middle and two pairs of buckles that form an X on the thigh and lower calf. However, the clips on each thigh later disappear, leaving only the ones on each calf. His name was Mard Geer Tartaros, King of the underworld. He smiled as he shifted "no mere human imitation can beat such a thing" he smiled "wouldn't you agree" he asked as he looked at a book in his hand.
