There was no doubt in Nick's mind that they had not seen the last of Adalind's mother.

He knew that even thinking they could relax would cause them to become complacent, and leave the door open for some enemy to enter in.

Besides needing to worry about Catherine Schade, The Royals, The Verrat, The Reapers, and the usual bad behaving wesen Nick had to investigate on a regular basis, there was also the certainty that his own mother would be making an appearance soon.

Nick wasn't sure how Kelly Burkhardt would handle Nick being with a hexenbiest.

And he wasn't sure how he was going to explain knowing she was still alive.

His own expressive face was going to tell her right away that he wasn't surprised to see her. But he worried that Telling her about The Staff might be a problem.

Worrying about his mother and explaining The Staff, reminded Nick that the coins of Zakynthos would be popping up soon.

He remembered clearly all of the trouble they had caused.

Hank might be in the know about the wesen community, and Renard might be interested in playing nice, but there was no telling what those coins might do to the current peace.

There was also Adalind to consider. He would rather not expose her to temptation.

Nick would prefer to prevent as much carnage as possible, including the fuchsbau shopkeeper's death.

But he was sure it was going to be very tricky to convince the coin seller to hand over the coins, especially to a grimm.

Nick's reputation as a kind grimm had not quite made it to the height it would be five years from that time, so there was a great chance the fuchsbau could either run and hide in terror, or lash out in aggression and demand Nick leave the shop.

Considering that the men who were after the coins were the men responsible for killing Nick's father and causing him to be without his parents from the time he was twelve, Nick had an urge to get his hands on them and deal with them, grimm style.

Nick decided to go to the shop owner and explain to him that there were men after the coins who planned on killing the fuchsbau.

Knowing what the coins could do, and all of the trouble they had caused throughout history, the fuchsbau was more than happy to hand over the coins to Nick. In exchange of course for the grimm's protection.

Knowing when the men would arrive, Nick waited in the shop, out of sight, until they entered.

The looks on their faces at seeing a grimm waiting for them instead of the expected fuchsbau was worth having to be late getting home to Adalind and Trubel.

"Where are the coins?" One of the men growled in full woge.

"You'll never find out." Nick answered with a cheeky grin.

Unfortunately for the shopkeeper, displays got broken as Nick fought the wesen would be coin thieves.

Once Nick subdued the criminals, he called for back up and got them to the precinct.

"You mind telling me how you happened to be there when those men were robbing that coin shop?" Renard asked suspiciously.

"Just my luck I guess." Nick returned. He was not about to drop any hint that he knew about the coins of Zakynthos.

Nick was worried about how everyone would act around the coins, so he hid them away in the same storage unit where he hid The Staff.

He hated keeping secrets from his loved ones but he felt it was the best thing. They were less likely to be put in danger if they didn't know about the things some beings would kill to get a hold of.
