In Jasper, Nevada, the Autobot base was unusually empty. That was because the majority of the team was out doing their own thing.
Bulkhead and Miko went out to have some dune bashing, Bee and Raf were out on a drive, Optimus was out working on a mission, and Wheeljack and Ultra Magnus were taking a small break together up at the top of the base. That left Arcee, Jack, Smokescreen, Ratchet and Knock Out inside the base, working on their own thing.
Smokescreen groaned and leaned against the rock walls, tapping his ped. He was craving for some more action to happen; he was tired of being left out. Sighing, he looked at Ratchet. "Can we do anything besides sitting, Ratchet? It's getting way boring, now!"
The medic sighed exasperated. "We can't leave the base yet, Smokescreen. If we happen to be away at the wrong time, we could lose something valuable!"
"Not to mention," the ex-con added, "we're still low on Energon. We have to use it for the Groundbridge, and even then we have to use it sparingly."
The former Elite Guard huffed and crossed his arms, angry but didn't want to argue.
Arcee looked at Knock Out. "But you still go to races using the Groundbridge. Sounds like you're naughty as the rest of us."
She smirked as she heard him grumble, before an alarm sounded from the computers. Ratchet typed for a few seconds before finding out the cause. A distress call.
"A Cybertronian life signal..." He gasped.
"From who?" Jack asked, climbing down from the railing and looking up at the screens.
"Can't tell. Could be either." He then turned to get his medical kit, while Smokescreen started preparing himself for a pinch of action today. Saving a life was better than nothing; especially to him. If there was one thing he learned from saving Optimus, it was to make sure they were safe, no matter what.
"Arcee, Smokescreen, with me. Knock Out, man the Groundbridge and prepare med bay." Ratchet ordered, powering up the tunnel and walking through, the femme and racecar walking after him.
Back in the cave, the black Predacon femme coughed up Energon as she whimpered, hoping that any help was coming soon. She remembered a similar situation where she rescued an injured autobot prisoner from an Insecticon. She wondered how that femme was doing now.
The sound of a Groundbridge made her chirp in weak happiness as she now struggled to stand, hoping to catch the arrivals' optic before they left.
Meanwhile, Smokescreen sped out of the portal and transformed, looking around for any sign of movement. He took a step forward as Arcee and Ratchet came out next, being wary for an ambush just in case the call was a trick.
"Why would the distress call come from beneath the earth? Just screams 'Decepticon attack'," the femme sneered, slightly cocking her hip while keeping her blasters on lock.
"Even if it is a trap, we can't risk the opportunity of helping a Cybertronian in danger, and possibly earning a new teammate," Ratchet said, taking out a spark scanner and following the signature.
Arcee huffed and kept close by, watching the medic's back. It's been too long since they had a new Autobot join their cause, and she was starting to lose hope that they'll find another one. She was grateful for what they had, and it wouldn't hurt if this mission had a reward for them.
The black femme heard their pedsteps and her rings shone faintly, meaning she was hopeful. Using the last of her strength, she used her wings to lift herself up out of the hole she was in, and chirped from behind them, making them turn and jump in surprise.
"B-by the All-Spark..." Ratchet gasped, clearly never seeing a femme who looked like the one in front of him.
"Whoa..." Smokescreen whispered, a faint blush on his faceplates from how beautiful she looked, even with the gash on her side.
The only who didn't speak was Arcee. She looked at her with wide optics as she started to shake, faint memories playing in her processor involving this Predacon femme.
"G... Galaxy...?" She asked through trembling lips.
The black femme turned to her, and her optics widened as well. Then, her strained voicebox managed to utter a reply.
"... Ar... cee...?"
Suddenly, both girls fell to the ground and fainted; one of them due to loss of Energon, and the other out of shock.
Smokescreen looked between them in bewilderment. "What the scrap happened?!"
Ratchet, even though he didn't say it, had a sneaky feeling that he knew what happened that caused them to black out.
(WHAT'S UP, MY CREW!! I'm back and I'm not dead! I hope you guys like this, and I'll see you guys soon!)
