As Diana grew steady and strong in Adalind's womb, the romance between Monroe and Rosalee also grew.

The blutbad and the fuchsbau moved in together. And a couple of months later, they were engaged.

Freddie, Rosalee's brother, asked if he could be the one to tell their sister that they were adding a blutbad to the family.

Nick tried to drop hints to remind Monroe to inform his parents about Rosalee. But once again, it seemed that some events would not be altered.

That included the Wildesheer.

Nick was no less worried this time around than he was the last time. Even more so in fact. He had so much more to lose this time around.

Nick understood that making Monroe's parents accept their son's choices was not his job and that he should not interfere. Though he was a grimm, there were things that it was not up to him to take care of.

He focused instead on the things that were very much his concern. Not only did he have to hunt down and stop the wildesheer, dangerous wesen that were killing and scalping anyone who they saw as a great warrior, but he also had to contend with Adalind and the strange symptoms that started to occur with her pregnancy.

Weird food cravings would have been understood. It was expected that Adalind would want odd combinations of food and lots of it. What was not expected was for Adalind to crave to hear Nick's voice, or to feel his touch on her bare skin.

"It's like I don't feel safe without you with me." Adalind explained. "Logically I know that I could easily protect myself, but there's an overwhelming feeling that something vital is missing. Something only you can provide. I think this baby is aware of you, misses you and wants me to get you back with us."

Nick knelt in front of Adalind and placed a tender kiss on her belly.

"Already a daddy's girl, huh."

Adalind rolled her eyes. "Nice to know our daughter prefers you even when she's still inside my womb."

The hexenbiest decided to get some tea to help keep the baby calm so that her emotions wouldn't be all over the place.

While Rosalee and Alice were getting to know each other in the spice shop, Adalind walked in.

Sensing some tension, and feeling protective over her friend, the hexenbiest asked, "Is everything alright?"

"It's fine, Adalind. This is Monroe's mother, Alice."

"It's nice to meet you." Adalind greeted, holding out her hand. Though her tone sounded friendly, there was an underlying element that spoke of danger. "Nick and I are so happy for Monroe and Rosalee. We're excited by the idea that one day our children will be playing with their children."

The implication was clear; Monroe and Rosalee were considered family and no one should get in the way of their happiness or they would have the hexenbiest to contend with.

In one of the rare times of her life, Alice felt intimidated. There was no question in her mind that though the woman in front of her was pregnant, she was still very much a threat. It was obvious that her son was extraordinary. He had gained the friendship of beings that were known to be powerful and dangerous.

As a wesen she was impressed. As a mother she was grateful that her son was so well loved.

"I wish Monroe would have told me about his friends and his fiancé sooner." The mother blutbad smiled warmly, doing her best to show the hexenbiest she was not going to be a threat.

Adalind visibly relaxed, then rolled her eyes with a heavy sigh. "I can't believe he waited until you arrived at his house to tell you he was engaged to a fuchsbau. You would think someone who had extensive knowledge of history would know better. I let all of the relatives who are still a part of my life all about Nick being a grimm the moment we started living together and I realized that he was going to be a permanent part of my life."

"How did they handle it?" Alice asked with genuine curiosity, wanting to know how other wesen handled their loved one with someone outside their kind. Certainly a grimm would be much harder to accept into the family than anything. "Does your mother mind having a grimm for a son in law?"

"My mother and I haven't spoken since she turned herself into me and tried to hurt Nick and our adopted daughter, Trubel. My mother refused to accept my choices. Told me I was going against my own kind. She outright said I was no longer her daughter."

"Oh, I'm so sorry dear." Alice expressed, sensing the underlying meaning.

"It's alright. I know I'm better off without her. Other family members didn't see a problem with being involved with a grimm. And Nick's mom accepted me almost right away. Most importantly, those that are in our lives on a daily basis, who we love and who love us, have become family. And they accept us completely."

The message was clear. If Alice couldn't accept Monroe's lifestyle, fiancé, and friends, then she would risk not being a part of his life at all.

Luckily, just as in the previous timeline, Monroe's father also learned to accept his son's choices. And just in time to help Monroe and Nick fight the trio of wildesheer.

Just as they were looking at the Wildesheer that were laying dead on the ground, loud thunder rumbled and streaks of lightning shot through the sky.

It was then that Nick remembered what Monroe was about to say.

"You know, it's said that when the wildesheer are near to completing their coat of scalps, that it signals the arrival of something momentous. It's like an omen for something world changing."

In the previous timeline, Nick remembered that something was Diana.

But Adalind's pregnancy wasn't sped up this time. And she had gotten pregnant later than she had previously done. Hadn't she?

Just as Nick was questioning if the wildesheer were a signal again for Diana, the phones of all three men rang.

"Nick, you better get here quickly. Adalind's going into labor." came Trubel's voice over the line.

Rosalee and Alice were conveying the same news to Monroe and Bart.

"You go, dad and I will take care of these guys." Monroe assured Nick, who nodded his thanks and jumped into his vehicle.

Nick trusted Monroe to let Hank and Wu know of the situation, and for the law enforcement officer's to let their captain know what all was happening.

"She's too early, Nick." Nick could hear Adalind's concern clearly in her voice.

Through their bond, he tried to force her to take his strength. To feel him comforting her.

"She refuses to go to the hospital." Rosalee said through the phone. Nick realized that she and Alice must be there with Adalind and Trubel. "She's worried about how the baby will react, since she's a mix between a grimm and a hexenbiest, and she was conceived when her father was in a primal state."

Nick thought to assure her that nothing strange would happen, since Kelly hadn't morphed or done anything unusual when he was born. But then Nick realized that since Adalind's hexenbiest had been repressed, it might have been what caused their son to not exhibit any non-human behavior. So instead, he assured the women that he would be arriving as soon as he could.

He was driving as fast as he could, using his grimm skills and reflexes to maneuver. A powerful storm looked like it was brewing, and heavy rain began to fall, making driving even more difficult.

But thankfully, Nick soon saw the big beautiful house the eisbiber had made for his family. He knew that Adalind had placed a large amount of protection spells all over the property to ensure their safety, so in truth, there may not have been a better place for their new daughter to be born.

"Nick." Adalind's smile was wide and bright, despite the obvious pain she was in as she reached for him when he rushed to her side. He placed kisses on her lips, her head, and her hand as he took it in his and put his arm around her.

They were in the kitchen. Adalind had invited Rosalee and Alice to for some girl talk and was making tea when severe cramps started shooting through her body.

"She had just taken the kettle off of the stove when she suddenly gasped and bent over." Trubel explained.

Nick realized that had been the exact moment he had been attacked by the first of the three wildesheer.

It was possible that through their bond, Adalind had sensed that he was in danger and Diana had read her mother's feelings and had been stirred to action.

"Trying to rescue daddy already, huh." Nick smiled tenderly.

"She is going to be such a handful." Adalind's laugh was breathy as she gasped for air.

"Not like we could expect anything less from one of our children." Nick's grin was far too proud for Adalind's liking.

"Just remember buddy, we're equal partners in this. So you have to do your fair share of the disciplining and guiding. No letting them off the hook for things just because you thought they were clever."

"Of course, my love."

Whether or not Adalind believed Nick was just placating her, she didn't have a chance to respond. A severe contraction racked her body, and Rosalee announced that it was time to push.

Nick held Adalind tight and watched her woge as she pushed with all of the strength she had. Soon, the beautiful sound of their daughters crying filled the room.

"Welcome to the world, Diana." Adalind's eyes were filled with tears of joy as she the baby to her bared skin

Nick found himself blinking a lot to clear his own vision as he cupped the tiny head in his hand.

Both parents gazed lovingly at their little miracle. She was so small, but she seemed so strong.

Nick looked out of the window and saw the dark clouds moving swiftly away, revealing the moon, full and bright in the night sky.
