Nick often found himself awake at night, just gazing at his beautiful baby girl and the woman who gave birth to her. He felt so much love for his family that it made it hard to breath sometimes, the intense emotions that overcame him.
Whenever he could, he would hold Diana in his arms and just look at her.
Nick and Adalind always did their best to assure Trubel that just because there was a new baby, it didn't mean that they no longer considered her to be their daughter.
They did their best to include the girl grimm in every aspect of tending to the baby.
Although she seemed to always pull an extraordinary vanishing act whenever there was a hint of a soiled diaper.
Other than that, Trubel seemed to do well with Diana. She often held her baby sister, just as long as she wasn't crying.
The family would often sit together in the evening, looking through grimm journals, listening to Adalind tell stories about her own heritage, and bond as a family.
Nick counted himself as the luckiest man in existence, since he got to do a do over and fix so many mistakes that had caused so much pain, and trouble.
Nick wasn't worried about the safety of his spouse, since she could more than take care of herself.
One of the things he regretted most about the previous timeline was not interacting more often with the wesen community. He wondered if he had gotten to know more wesen and allowed them to get to know him if he could have lessened many problems that had occurred.
Nick mentioned it to Adalind and she agreed it was a good idea to be out and about among the wesen community. It was important for them to show everyone that they were a diverse family that enjoyed going out and doing things together. Monroe and Rosalee would often join them. It further helped the image of Nick being a grimm who cared about the well being of the wesen community.
That was how most of the wesen community began to see the grimm, as belonging to their community since he was always around a wesen, sometimes around several wesen for days on end.
The eisbiber community loved seeing their grimm and often invited the entire gang to have meals with them. They often invited everyone to dinner, and there were the annual eisbiber gathering that normally would just be for the beaver wesen but after making friends with Nick, began to include a grimm, a hexenbiest, a blutbad and a fuchsbau.
The unique family doing so much socializing helped with Nick's reputation in the wesen community of Portland.
Nick was always so proud to show off his beautiful family. And his growing reputation with the wesen community put his mind at ease when it came to Monroe and Rosalee's wedding.
Nick's mind was further at ease knowing that with Adalind his, there would not be any drama from his side to affect it this time.
The same could not be said for the families of the bride and groom.
Nick didn't bother to warn about the wedding dress, since he knew how much Rosalee disliked it and wanted something different.
Rosalee's mother being furious with her sister was a small price to pay for a happy bride.
And it gave Monroe's parents a chance to show their support when they insisted on buying the replacement dress.
Nick had his own predicament.
Adalind, who had pretty much threatened her boss at her law firm and Sean Renard with pain and suffering of which even hell would shudder at if she and Nick did not get parental leave, would smile fondly and say, "There's something about a sexy man holding a baby that does things to me. I'm tempted to keep having babies with you."
And it would get Nick thinking.
He remembered clearly that his son had been conceived the day of Monroe and Rosalee's wedding.
And while those particular circumstances were not going to be repeated, not that he wanted them to, there was still the conundrum if he should even suggest to Adalind about having another child so soon after the first.
Without a doubt, she would question him why he was so interested in making another baby so soon. And there really wasn't a good answer he could give her, other than he wanted the child he had with her in the previous timeline.
And that was a topic he was determined not to bring up.
Nick decided to just leave it to fate. Mostly by leaving it up to Adalind and her mood.
The day of the wedding passed with everyone getting ready. Nick barely got to see Adalind since the parent's were too busy getting their daughters and themselves ready.
But Nick found he wasn't upset about waiting longer for his son. He was certain Kelly would come eventually. And in the meantime, he had two wonderful daughters to focus on being a father to.
And they were certainly a handful on their own.
Nick had a challenge ensuring Trubel didn't mess up her nice clothes.
She had pitched a fit, refusing to wear a dress. It was obvious that dresses were not her thing, so the adults in her life made sure she got to be herself and wear what she was comfortable in.
And that was a nice suit that matched what the men in the wedding party were wearing.
But she still needed to stay clean. So Nick had not let her get near anything that was going to stain once she put her suit on.
His super hearing had never been more appreciated by him than when he heard Trubel open the fridge after she had gotten dressed.
"I was just getting some chocolate milk." She defended when Nick practically teleported to her side.
"Oh no you're not. That's a white shirt you're wearing. That will attract stains like a magnet. You will wait to eat at the reception."
Since he had gotten her a large breakfast and a snack before she had gotten on her suit, he was sure she wouldn't be suffering too much.
By some miracle, both children were in the car, in perfect condition, on time.
While they were on their way, Nick took Adalind's hand in his, and bright it to his lips.
They gave each other one more kiss, this time on the lips, before they were forced to part. Him to go with the groom's side of the wedding party and her to go with the bride's. He also placed a gentle kiss on each of his daughters' heads, since they had to go with their mother.
Nick breathed a sigh of relief at the beginning of the ceremony when he saw his girls again, and breathed another when it was finished and everyone made their way to the reception area. He was glad that his friends got to have an uninterrupted wedding, and he was going to make sure it continued by keeping an eye, and an ear out for any problems.
That was how he overheard some of the guests commenting,
"That's the grimm. He's married to a hexenbiest. Alice said that they adopted a daughter together and recently had another one."
"Well, they certainly make a beautiful family."
Nick had to agree, he had a beautiful family.
