The TSA agents looked at Nick a little funny when he checked The Staff into luggage.

Under a fake name, he flew from Portland Oregon to Dallas Texas, changing both the name and mode of transportation, he rented a car and drove to Mexico.

With aliases and Passports supplied by HR, Nick made his way to various cities, ensuring it would be extremely difficult for anyone to track where he had been.

Through their psychic link, Nick would let Adalind know that he was alright and that he loved her very much.

He hadn't brought his phone with him, for fear of anyone finding out who he was and going after his loved ones. And he certainly was not going to risk calling them from a landline.

As much as he wanted to talk to his kids, no matter how much he missed them, he wanted them safe more.

Adalind assured him through their link that she and the children were doing fine and were eagerly awaiting his safe return.

He promised her that he would be home as soon as it was safe.

After changing the names and modes of transportation he used several times, arrived in the city Bonaparte was dwelling at the moment.

Nick dressed in a pair of jeans, hiking boots, and a hooded sweatshirt he picked up from the visitor's center. To anyone's eye, he looked like a tourist. Most would not give him a second look. That worked well for Nick's plan. No one would think twice about some tourist wanting to explore the historical estates and architecture of the area.

The particular estate the staff lead him to was surrounded by a wrought iron fence. Two armed men stood at the gate.

Nick's instincts told him that it wasn't Bonaparte they were guarding.

Nick nodded and smiled at the men as he walked past.

"Another American hiking through Europe." One guard said in German.

"Why do you think he needs such a big stick?" The other asked.

"American's always need to have the biggest of everything. They're overcompensating for the power they lack."

The two men chuckled.

Nick continued to smile at the men as he walked by, not letting on that thanks to Adalind and Monroe, he was able to understand every word they said.

He continued until he was out of sight of the guards. Going close to the back, he found a gap in the fence where he could slip through unnoticed.

Nick took out a small pocket knife and cut open the palm of his hand, then gripped the staff firmly.

He could sense his connection to the power grow as his blood seeped into the wood.

Nick focused on his love for his family and his friends. He recalled how it felt when Bonaparte and Black Claw put them all in danger. He thought about what it had been like entering the loft and realizing Adalind and their son were gone, and then all of the time after when he was without them and feared he would never see them again.

He recalled what Adalind had confessed to him; about how Bonaparte had turned her to stone and threatened her life and the children if she did not do everything he ordered her to do.

His love for his family guided him to this spot. He allowed the love he had for them to take over and consume him. The staff read his purpose, his intentions. It knew that what he was doing was not to gain power, but to protect the people he loved.

Finding his cause worthy, the staff connected the power of the coins to Nick, giving the grimm everything he needed to succeed in his quest.

The coins were the perfect bait to lure out anyone who craved power.

All Nick had to do was leave a coin for a guard to come across. While they were distracted, Nick hit them over the head, knocking them unconscious, then tied them up.

He repeated this until all of those patrolling the outside of the house were secured.

Once he was sure his mission would not be interrupted, Nick climbed the building, looking for the room Bonaparte was staying in.

Nick found the zauberbiest in what looked to be his bedroom.

He held the coins tightly in his hand and used the staff to break open the window.

Bonapart lifted his hand to use his power, but the staff and the coins offered an immunity to any power the magic wielding wesen tried to use on the grimm.

"Who are you? How is this possible? Grimm's do not have power."

"I would say you should do more research on Grimms, but you're not going to get the chance to do anything again." Nick said with a smirk.

The staff began to shake. Then it let out a force of energy, redirecting the wesen's power back on him.

Bonaparte let out a loud howl, as if he were in great pain. He could not move, and he could not use his powers. Nick watched in amazement as the zauberbiest began to disintegrate right in front of him.

A group of armed men rushed in, but halted in shock at the remains of their once powerful leader.

Nick had already slipped out of the window. He heard the one guard demand a search of the property.

Another asked "What could we possibly be looking for? Anyone who could do that to a zauberbiest as powerful as Bonaparte had to be even more powerful, or have a powerful weapon. We'll likely either not find the guy, if we're lucky, or suffer the same fate as Bonaparte."

"Do not forget our mission. Whoever took down Bonaparte is trying to take us all down. The end game is far more important than any one of our lives."

With his advanced hearing, Nick knew that the one giving the orders had separated from the one asking questions.

The latter said to a man who seemed about his same age. "What if the guy who did Bonaparte in was more powerful? I'm not interested in losing my life avenging a dead guy. Bonaparte can't do anything to anyone now. He's not going to be leading anything anymore. So I don't see the point in risking my life and sticking around."

The other man quickly agreed with his friend.

Fifteen minutes later, the two men drove out of the estate, their former commander cursing and shouting at them, calling them traitors.

While the guards were focused on one another, Nick was able to find the window to the next room he needed.

A man like Bonaparte kept records of enemies and alleys. It did not take long for Nick to find out who was in league with the organization and who was perceived as a threat to it.

Killing of the head may have weakened the group, but Nick knew it would by no way destroy it completely.

However, with a list of those who had power and influence in the group, Nick knew where to send his mother.

Bonaparte was his own personal mission. The problem he felt he alone needed to deal with.

There were others that needed to be stopped, but Nick did not want to be away from Portland any longer than need be. He would trust his mother and those she trusted to take down anyone who was aligned with Bonaparte and willing to take the place of the dead leader.

So he searched the computers and downloaded every file onto thumb drives that he would give to HR and his mother.

Putting them into secret compartments in his backpack, Nick quietly snuck out of the estate, the power of the staff and the coins keeping him from being seen by the guards.
