A/N: Hello, everyone! Sorry I was late, but had to go back to my outline for this story before I updated it real quickly. So, since it's been a while, the kids have made it out of the school, and Vlad killed the maid. What a sicko. I apologize if Vlad in this story seemed a little bit like Lex Luthor from Superman...I have been watching many of the Justice League movies this past week. Some of you are on the right track of what happened to Maddie, but I'll tell you. She was *trigger warning* raped.

Defeated Ch.5 - The announcement
"Naomi!" Came GIW Operative Z. He was a strongly built Latino man and he came running out of the safe camp that currently housed about four hundred people. "That's my girl, you saved another group!" He cheered and praised at the girl who was looking shyly at the ground.
She shook her head, "There's still many more to save, Papa," she stated as she looked behind her and pulled Valerie, Sam, and Tucker up with her. "These are my friends, Sam, and Valerie. And I've told you about Tucker. You know, the one from summer camp."
Operative Z looked at Tucker with a stern expression, "Tu tiene las bolas," he growled with narrowed eyes. "Welcome! You are all welcome to stay here. Free food and water for everyone who wants it!" He yelled in the air as he raised a fist, exciting the crowd of students as they cheered. "Come, come!" He yelled as he waved his arm through the air that led to a doorway.
Tucker rose an eyebrow as he couldn't help but feel an overwhelming feeling of fear at Naomi's father. "Did he just say he wanted to kill me in Spanish?" He asked with a nervous smile on his face.
"Nah, he said he likes you," Naomi said with a wave of her hand. "Anyway, Tuck, what are we going to do about your friend? The one with the powers?"
Sam sighed, "We need to let him know that there's a safe place that he can go to…But the question is how…?" Sam began to think as she started to pace back and forth.
"I heard that there was a recent opening for a maid," Valerie shrugged, "It specifically asked for a human applicant…"
"That's it!" Sam yelled as she slammed a fisted hand on an open palm, formulating a plan. "Naomi will sign up for the position," Sam said in a matter-of-fact voice.
Naomi looked shocked as she put her hands up defensively, "What? I can't do that! I put too much force into everything I do. Ask Tuck, that summer camp I had broken thirty two doors!"
Tucker's eyes grew wide with amazement, "That was you! You pinned the blame on Dash!" He yelled as he had to stifle a giggle.
"Well, I didn't want to get in trouble for it!" Naomi yelled defensively.
"Guys!" Sam yelled with her arms crossed. "We need to focus on getting Danny out of there. He can help, somehow. He always knows what to do," she stated as she held her body tighter. Valerie noticed the look on her face and put a comforting hand on her shoulders.
"It's alright Sam, we're going to get him out of there," she supported as she turned towards Naomi, who was still thinking about the offer. "Please?" She asked with pleading eyes. "I know that you don't like ghosts, hell, even I used to think like that. But Danny is different. Once you meet him, you'll see."
Naomi rubbed her left hand on her right arm slowly, "Why can't either one you guys do it?" She asked, trying to not ridicule herself to having be a maid.
Sam sighed, "Because Vlad knows us too well. Even if we were to disguise ourselves, he'd recognize us on the spot. Which is why this is a job that only you can do Naomi," she said as she walked over to Naomi and put a hand on her shoulder. "It's all up to you. You have to tell him that we're all okay, and that he can fight back."
"O-Okay…" Naomi muttered as her shoulders slumped. "I'm doing this because this dystopia that we're living in does not seem like that great of an idea," she stated as she stood up straighter. "I can do this!" She yelled with a fist clenched together tightly.
"You got this, Nao!" Tucker cheered on as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck, "And if you don't then we're all doomed…"
Naomi's confidence started to falter before she shook it off. "I will get Danny out of there. I will even die doing so," she said in a serious tone, making Sam smile proudly.
"There's the Naomi that we know," Sam said as she nodded.
"You seem to be around Daniel's age…" Vlad trailed as he was sitting at his desk with a stern expression on his face. "Yet, I haven't seen you before. You haven't lived or visited Amity Park, I'm sure?" He asked as he had his hands folded on his desk. After all, he was a business man before anything else.
Naomi nodded, "I have never been to the place, sir," she said in a monotone voice. It wasn't that she was scared; quite the opposite really. She wanted to reach over the desk that they were sitting at and claw the man's eyes out with her bare nails. But, she had to keep up appearances for this plan to go through.
"Hmm, I see that you have had previous work experience as a baby sitter," Vlad stated as he was reading off her resume that Sam had helped her with. "Though it's not as if we can call up those references, can we?" He asked with a smirk on his face before it vanished a second later.
Naomi did not laugh at the intended joke, she had thought it was sick and out of place. She hated ghosts, and she hated this man more. "I assure you, Mr. Masters that I will try my best to provide you with absolute results," she stated full of confidence. 'Though those results won't be in your best interest, you lunatic,' she thought darkly as she smiled.
Vlad nodded his head as he placed the resume on the table, "I accept your services, Ms. Naomi. You start work immediately. I'm afraid that Daniel has not come out of his room since…Yesterday. I want you to get him down to dinner. Think you can handle that?" Vlad asked the last part condescendingly.
"Most certainly," Naomi said with elegance that she most certainly got from her mother as she stood up. "If you shall excuse me, Mr. Masters," she stated as she did a small bow before exiting out of the room. 'Think you can handle your perfect chess game falling apart, puta?' She thought darkly as she ascended the stairs that seemed to get colder with each step she took.
"This place is so…Cold," she stated as she brought her arms across her chest from the outfit she had to wear for this job. At the top of the stairs, she could almost see her breath. She pulled out a key card that Vlad had given her and placed it in the slot, immediately opening the door as it slid open automatically. There seemed to be snow particles around the room, and a raven haired boy was sitting in the middle of the room. If she had to place what he looked like, she would say that he looked absolutely and completely defeated.
She took a step and her black dress shows crunched underneath her, she glanced down to examine what had made the noise. A thick layer of compact snow had gathered on the floor of the room, and she rose an eyebrow in confusion as she glanced at the boy again. "Are you alright, champ?" She asked as she took another step, only for the room's temperature to drop dramatically. She shivered, not expecting a wind that had come from nowhere as it went through her being, almost as if invading her personal space.
"N-No," he choked out as he glanced at her, "I'm not…I'm not alright. I'm not…O-Okay…" He stuttered, though Naomi knew it wasn't from the cold. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she took another step towards him, only for him to shake his head. "Just…Stay away from me," he stated as he looked at the ground again as his blue eyes seemed to light up an even brighter shade of blue.
A wind came over the girl again, only except she didn't shiver. "Danny, right?" She whispered into the wind. Danny had heard it and perked his head up at the name and blinked at the girl. She smirked at him and winked at him. "Master Daniel," she said as she bent down. "Things may seem bad right now, but I assure you, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel," she stated as she smiled gently at him.
Danny shook his head, "Probably when I'm dead," he mumbled as he looked down, only for the girl to grab onto his shoulder.
"I wouldn't say that if I were you," Naomi said cryptically as she bent down by him. "If you need someone to talk to, I am here, colega," she said as she stood up and offered her hand to him. "You must be hungry, right? Let's go down to the dining room," she offered as he looked at her hand.
He nodded as he took her hand, and the warmth from her hand made the snow in the room start to disappear on impact. "Colega?" He asked, "Is that Spanish?" He asked with a small sparkle in his eyes, though he didn't smile. It seemed that she would still need to get him to smile.
"Si," she stated as she smiled at him. "Let's get going then," she stated as she dropped his hand and started to head towards the door. When she didn't hear him follow her, she turned around and found a longing look in his eyes as he looked at his hand. "Santo cielo!" She mumbled under her breath as she sighed.
Danny had entered the dining hall slowly, and finding that Vlad was already there waiting for him did not give him any incentive to go faster. He didn't look up as he walked over to the chair he was supposed to sit at.
"I suppose this is a step in the right direction," Vlad muttered as he swirled some wine in his wine glass. "Tell me, Daniel, did you enjoy spending yesterday in your room?"
Danny tensed up but didn't say anything to the older hybrid. He didn't know how to function as a regular human being anymore. It seemed that being human was just out of his grasp. He sighed inwardly to himself thinking that he might be clinically depressed. Vlad looked over at the boy and shrugged harmlessly as he placed his hands on the table.
"If there's one thing I can't control about your ghost form, Daniel, it's your ice powers. They are unique aren't they?" Vlad asked, trying to make a conversation with the boy.
Danny didn't say anything, but he did fist his hands underneath the table. He narrowed his eyes slightly but decided to not let Vlad see any reaction out of him. Maybe then his constant bickering would finally cease. That's all Danny really wanted; some peace and quiet.
Maddie entered the room as she didn't care about opening the door slowly or carefully. "Danny!" She yelled as she ran over to the table. Vlad glanced up but didn't say anything about her actions as he grabbed his wine glass and took a sip from it. "Danny, are you alright? Danny!" She yelled as she looked at his face.
Danny glanced up but then darted his eyes away from his mother. He saw her pained expression and wished that everyone would just leave him alone. He just wanted to be left alone. He didn't even see Jazz enter the room, or the relieved look on her face. Or the concerned look on her face when she actually got a chance to look at her brother. "D-Danny?" She asked cautiously as she took her seat. She then looked at Vlad who had a small glare on his face from on the needless fuss that was going on around the boy.
"I am so glad that everyone could join this meal…Because your mother and I have come to a decision," Vlad stated as he glanced at everyone at the dinner table.
"That's not-!" Maddie began to object but was hushed before she could announce anything more.
Vlad looked dangerously over at her with a dark glint in his eye, "Now, Maddie, do not speak when the male is talking," he stated as he tightened his hold on his wine glass before looking over at the table again. "We have an announcement. Wondrous news. We are going to be getting married."
Danny looked up at this suddenly with his eyes wide, and that was the reaction that Vlad was looking for as he smirked at him. "I'm not-!" He began to yell, but was cut off by Vlad.
"Daniel, you do not get a say in the matter," Vlad mused with amusement in his eyes.
"I'm not letting you marry my mother! Not after the way you-!" Jazz started to yell out but was immediately silenced by the glare that Vlad sent out her way.
Maddie looked down at the ground in shame, "He said that if I did this…He wouldn't hurt Danny anymore…" She trailed as she looked at Jazz with tears in her eyes. "Don't think that I'm a terrible mother…You don't think that, do you honey?" She asked, on the verge of having a mental break down as her voice was strained. "I-I, I'm not doing this because…" She trailed as she closed her eyes.
Danny stood up and looked at Vlad, "I'm not letting you do this, Vlad," he said, his spirit coming back to him as he glared at the man.
"Daniel, sit down," Vlad ordered as he didn't make a move to apprehend the boy at all.
"Mom, he's not ever going to stop hurting me," Danny said as he looked at his mother with a small smile, "It's what he gets off on," he stated and Vlad growled as the wine glass shattered in his hands.
Vlad stood up, "Daniel, I said sit down," he stated as took a few steps towards the boy.
Danny shook his head, "I'm never listening to you again. You're always lying, Vlad. How do I even know that my dad is still alive?" He asked as he took a few steps back, knowing that he was playing with fire. If he didn't play his cards right, another staff member would end up killed, and it would be on his hands. "You just want power, you frootloop. That's what you've always wanted. So what are your plans now?" Danny asked with a smirk on his face. The temperature in the room started to decrease, and there was an eerie wind that swept through the dining room. "You think that you can control me?" He asked as Vlad narrowed his eyes at the boy. "News flash, V-Man, I'm a human being, and you can't control those."
Vlad chuckled, finding slight humor in the boy's words, "It's humorous how you think that you're a human being, Daniel. You and I both know that's not true. And as for being controlled?" Vlad asked, having Danny back himself up into a wall. He leaned down to the boy's eye level, "I'd say that I've almost accomplished that."
Danny yelped as Vlad grabbed him by the next and raised him up on the wall. The boy was struggling to breathe as he grabbed hold of Vlad's hands that were restraining his breathing passages. "You really want to pick a fight with an ice core, Vladdie?" He asked, mocking Vlad's name the way that his father used to, just to grate on his nerves. Danny's eyes began to glow a light blue color and Vlad responded by having his eyes glow a red color.
"You're picking a fight that you were destined to lose," Vlad mocked as Jazz grabbed a knife from the table and threw it at the man that was attacking her brother. He grunted as it lodged itself into his shoulder. Danny's eyes grew wide as he lost control of his powers and his eyes returned to normal. Vlad chuckled as he plucked the knife from his shoulder and tossed it on the ground. "You see, Jasmine…" He trailed as he turned around to face the girl, "That was a wrong move," he said in a dark tone.
Danny, seeing his chance at having an open attack at the man, decided to kick him in the mid-section, causing him to stumble back. Danny stood up to his full height, now being released from his grasp as he narrowed his eyes dangerously at the man. Vlad started to chuckle as he was hunched over slightly as he too, stood up to his full height. "Daniel…That was dishonorable and ruthless…" He stated as he wiped away a trickle of blood that had formed from his mouth from the force of the kick. "It seems the longer you stay here, the more you learn from me."
"Let my family go…" Danny ordered as his voice wavered a little from being compared to the madman in front of him. "I'll stay, but they need to live their life."
"Their life is with me," Vlad stated in a matter of fact voice. "And speaking of which…" He trailed as his eyes turned to the shaking form of Jazz, who had her arms against her body to comfort the murderous intention that she had. "Your sister needs to be reprimanded for her actions," he said as his eyes narrowed in a calculative glare.
Danny glanced at Vlad and then at his sister before running in-between them with his arms outstretched to his sides, "You're not hurting her," the boy growled with a glare that could shatter spirits as his eyes started to illuminate a dark blue. "I won't let you."
Vlad chuckled as he started to walk towards the boy with his arms behind his back in his usual fashion, "Dear boy, you are not match for me…" He trailed as he reached the point where Danny was before he paused, "Not as long as you are in my grasp, at least," he mumbled so only Danny could hear him. However, as soon as the words left his mouth, Danny felt a pain surge through his body that had started in his arm and then had spread. He got down on his hands and knees, as if in a desperate attempt to relieve the pain that was coursing through him. He groaned in pain as he tried to not move, only for the fact that he could no longer feel his limbs against all of the pain.
"What…Did…?" Danny asked as he tried to not yell out the words in pain, in hopes of not granting Vlad any satisfaction of his agony.
"I did say I had to train your human side first, didn't I, Daniel?" Vlad asked rhetorically, knowing that the boy couldn't form a single coherent sentence under the pain he was given. "You need to learn your place. You are the son of a tyrant, and you are no exception to his rules," Vlad said with a smirk as he looked back at the shaking form of the boy. Sweat started to appear on his face as the boy was glaring daggers at the man. Vlad then directed his attention back to Jazz as he shook his head in disapproval, "Jasmine, you should know better than to attack your father…" He trailed as she tried to back away from him in fear. "It appears that you need to be sent to your room until you know the full consequences of your actions."
Jazz didn't feel hands grab her arms until she was being pulled away. She screamed for her mother and brother, although her mother only trembled as tears started to flow from her eyes. "Danny!" She yelled as she had a hand outstretched for her brother as she struggled to get closer to him.
"J-Jazz!" Danny yelled in severe pain as he, too, had his hand outstretched for his sister as he tried to crawl closer to her retreating form, only for her to disappear out the door as a silence was brought onto the room. The pain eventually ceased and Danny began to pant out rapid and uncontrolled breaths. "You…" He trailed as he glared at the man once again. "Don't treat my sister like that!" He yelled out as he stood on his feet and fisted his hands.
"I do believe this is my family, Daniel, I may treat them however I desire," Vlad said with a smirk as he turned back around to face the boy.
Danny shook his head, "This is why you shouldn't have one, Vlad, you can't treat them how they should be treated!" He yelled in an outrage. "You can't bark around orders and control everything!"
Vlad chuckled darkly as he took a step closer to Danny, "That's where you're wrong. A family needs power and a strong leader to guide them."
"A family needs love and compassion!" Danny yelled out as he glared at the man.
"Enough of your childish morals, Daniel," Vlad stated as he started to walk away. He left the room and the atmosphere seemed to be lighter, though it had still reeked of Vlad.
Maddie took small steps toward her son, "Danny, are you-?"
Danny turned towards his mother with a furious scowl, "Stop letting him control you!" He snapped, making Maddie stop in her advancement towards him. "You just let him take Jazz away! And then you're going to marry him?!"
"I have no choice! He said he was going to hurt you and Jazz if I don't comply with his demands!" Maddie yelled as tears started to fall from her eyes. "I don't want to marry a crude man like Vlad!"
"Then don't!" Danny yelled as he started to walk away, "What would dad think if he heard you talk like that, huh?" He mumbled the last part, though she could hear it.
Maddie shook her head, "Jack…Jack, I'm sorry…I'm so sorry!" She yelled in sorrow as her knees felt weak and she fell to the floor.
Danny stopped in his retreat from the room and turned to look at his mother one last time, "If it ever comes between me and Jazz…You better pick Jazz," he stated in a low voice with a glare on his face as he turned back around and exited out of the room, not bothering himself to turn back around at Maddie's broken face that was cascading tears down her face.
As Danny was out of the dreaded room, he started to shake. He had been too close to losing himself and that had scared him. The fact that Naomi was sent from Sam and Tucker made him feel better knowing that he wasn't as alone as he thought. One thing was for sure, though, he needed to get his family out of this place before they had all lost it. He glanced down at his arm and the slight bruising of where Vlad had implanted the device. 'I really need to get this thing out of my arm…But the question is, how?' He thought as he glanced back up and started to his room. He wasn't really feeling that hungry with the murderous intentions that were in that room anyway.
Vlad glared as he made his way to his study where the cameras were placed. "How did Daniel go back to his old 'heroic' self so quickly?" He asked to himself as he opened his door. He examined the tapes of when the new maid had entered his snow scaped room, though he wasn't hearing anything suspicious about a new escape plan. He examined her face and didn't notice any familiarity that coincided with his memories.
He scowled as he sat down in the chair, "She's not saying anything that would rile the boy up…" He trailed as he glared at the screens. "Perhaps it was the announcement of the wedding?" He pondered lightly as a light tapping came at the door. "What is it?" Vlad asked in a dark tone, not wanting to be disturbed when it came down to his thoughts on Daniel.
"One of the institutions in the Amity Park area has been compromised," a ghost guard claimed as he turned intangible through the door.
Vlad, not bothering to turn around to greet the underling remained focused on the new maid on the screen, "Around what time?"
"Two days past, sir," the ghost commented.
Vlad narrowed his eyes in response, "Interesting…" He trailed as he examined the girls face. "Get me the files about that specific institution, I want students and adults on that list."
The ghost guard nodded, "Sir," he said as he turned intangible and left the room.
"Let's see how long this rebellion will last, Daniel, before I have you eating at the palm of my hand…" He trailed as he turned off the monitors, "Like the good little son you are meant to be…"
A/N: Uh uh, don't make Danny snap his fingers! Soo, if you're a Spanish reader, you get a little bit of comedy in the Spanish bits that Naomi speaks. For English readers, there's really not a whole lot going on, just Naomi calling Vlad a 'whore'. Also, Naomi pulled a little sly one over on Vlad considering she spoke Danny's name when there was wind, and you wouldn't catch that on camera. At least in this story. As always, thanks for the favorites/follows/reviews!
