A/N: This story has not been forgotten, merely just hasn't been updated in a while. And the reason for its update? This lucky user right here: Athena128. I didn't really feel like updating this story, at least not until I revamped the outline for it, but man, your persistence. Which isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing. Otherwise, I don't think I would have updated, not for another year. The last chapter left off with Naomi being discovered, and Vlad being a douche, and now here we are. Hope you guys enjoy it, since it's been a while since I've updated an actual noncrossover Danny Phantom story.

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom.

Defeated Ch. 6: The Half Escape

Danny was on his way to his jail cell, or his room as Vlad liked to refer to it as, when Naomi seemed to suddenly appear next to him. He rose an eyebrow as he smiled sadly at her, "And I thought I was the half ghost here," he stated in an attempt at dry humor.

Naomi responded with a smile, "Master Daniel, that was a great gag," she stated as she placed her hand on his shoulder and pulled him into a 'staff only' hallway. "Alright, here's the plan," she stated as Danny looked at her firm and strong hand on his shoulder before glancing at her face, "My cover has been compromised. We need an escape route, and we need it now," she stated, her smile turning into a thin line on her face.

"What do you mean-?" Danny was about to ask, when an alarm started to sound.

"Mierda!" She hissed out, and Danny could only assume that it was a curse word in her native tongue. "We don't have as much time as I thought we had…" She trailed as she placed her hands down to her sides and looked at the door.

Danny was thoroughly confused, "What do we do now?" He asked as he looked at her as she suddenly turned around, making the boy tense in alarm that she was going to lash out unexpectedly at him.

Naomi smirked as she placed a fisted hand on her palm, "The question is, what do you need to escape?" She asked as Danny stared at her for a few more seconds before he grinned.

"I have this device in my arm," he stated as he raised up his arm to show her, "It prevents me from leaving this place, and I guess controls my ghost powers as well…" He trailed as he lowered it, "I need something that will dig it out, I don't care what I use to do it," he stated as he smiled shyly at her, "Something sharp, preferably."

"I'm on it," She said as she nodded. She dug into her apron and immediately pulled out a steak knife and flipped it in the air, catching it by the handle as she offered it to the young halfa.

Danny watched with slightly amused eyes, "Do you normally just have knives in there-?" He started to ask as he took it as she gave him a heated glare. "Right," he said as he twisted him arm to where his elbow was and held the blade firmly in his hand. "Okay…" He trailed as he tried to shake down the horrible feeling that he knew would come after forcibly digging something out of his arm.

Naomi watched his actions as she glanced at the door and him occasionally before she rose an eyebrow and offered her hand, "Do you want me to do it?" She asked in a rushed voice as his face turned red from slight embarrassment.

"No!" He protested with a slight glare, "I can cut something out of my arm…" He trailed as he started to bring the blade closer to his skin, almost breaking the skin, which caused him to slightly shake in response. The blade was unsteady ad he breathed a deep breath to calm himself, "You can do this, Fenton," he stated as he lowered it once again.

"Better hurry there, Slick," Naomi stated as she door few open, revealing the grinning forms of Walker's goons. "Because we have some very ugly visitors!" She stated as she searched for another knife in her apron and pulled one out. She quickly charged at them, making the two ghosts be surprised by the attack of the human maid. One of the ghosts unleashed a rod and ran towards her with a determined smirk plastered on his face. Naomi smirked as she blocked the attack with the smaller steak knife, bringing surprise and shock to the ghost's expressions. She forced the one ghost off of her, only to be pushed against the wall with another rod coming at her. She blocked it in time to avoid it hitting her head. She was straining her muscles as she placed two hand on the tiny handle of the blade. "I will. Not. Be beaten. By a ghost!" She yelled as she tried with all of her strength to force the ghost back, which she was starting to, but was welcomed by the other ghost with his rod raised with a menacing grin. She closed her eyes and was waiting for the attack…

There was a sudden gust of wind and a green light as she opened her eyes. The two ghosts were blasted away from her and she let out a breath of relief as she glanced at Danny. He had his good arm raised, it was still fuming green smoke from the attack. His other arm, however, had red crimson blood and green ectoplasm leaking from it uncontrollably.

"You did it!" Naomi said with slight happiness as she walked over to him, though his face was starting to become pale from the lack of blood that was in his body. "You did it…" She trailed as she quickly emptied the contents of her apron and quickly took it off and ran over to the young halfa. "How are you feeling?" She asked as she started to wrap the cloth around the wound.

"Half dead…" Danny joked around with a small smile on his face. With one strong pull of the apron being tied into place, he looked up with a pained expression, "You don't even look that strong…" He trailed as he tried to not move his injured arm; which he couldn't feel at the present moment. He looked up and saw the unamused face of the Spanish girl and weakly smiled, "Which isn't a bad thing, I mean-!" He tried to justify in a rushed manner.

She chuckled, lightening up the mood, "I can see why your friends care so much about you," she stated as she looked down the hallway they were in and found more ghost goons advancing towards them. "I will go and retrieve Maddie," she said as she looked up at him and found him weakly nodding. "You go and get Jazz, and we'll meet outside the doors. I have a squad that will bring us to the safe house," she stated as she started to run towards the ghost goons without letting Danny respond.

The young halfa didn't even look to where she was running off to, and trusted that the girl could fend for herself. He started to run towards the other side of the mansion invisibly. He watched as the ghost goons were running past him, which didn't bother him any. A ghost fight wasn't exactly on his list of business for the time being.

As he reached the tower which Jazz was held, he saw a ghost goon guarding her door. He blasted him away without any remorse on his face. He quickly phased into her room and was visible. "Danny?" She asked as she quickly got up from her bed. She ran over to him and embraced him into a hug. "What are you doing here?" She asked as tears started to flow from her eyes at finally being able to freely talk to her little brother. Her hand briefly touched Danny's injured arm and she looked down with a gasp. "Your arm!" She yelled.

"We're going to escape Jasm-!" He started to say but shook his head. Vlad's stupid house rules were starting to affect him, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before everyone else succumbed to this twisted ways. "Jazz," he corrected with a small smile.

"Your arm!" She yelled, drawing attention to it once again, "It looks really bad, Danny…" She trailed with her eyes widened and concern was in her tone. She was caught off guard by his good hand grabbing hers in a tight protective grip.

"At the very least you're going to escape," Danny mumbled as they started to run out of the room. He made himself along with Jazz intangible as they slowly sunk down through the floor. In a matter of seconds they were outside, which made Jazz suddenly become tense. "What's wrong?" Danny asked in a worried tone.

She merely looked up at the sky, "It's been so long since I've been outside…" She trailed in awe as she examined the surroundings. "Sorry," she mumbled as Danny smiled at her as they landed on the ground. He dropped his intangibility and let go of his sister's hand. "So where is-?" She started to ask, but suddenly jumped at the new voice.

"About time," Naomi stated in a dry tone. Danny and Jazz turned towards the new voice, and Danny's eyes widened at the damage that the Spanish girl had gone through. Her shirt was cut, and exposed her stomach. Scratches and bruises were clearly visible all around her body. There was a bleeding gash on the top of her forehead. His mother walked around her with a relieved smile on her face.

"You're safe!" Maddie yelled as she walked over to where her two children were and engulfed them in a long overdue hug. "You're both safe!" She yelled again, as she hugged them tighter.

Naomi watched the scene with a small smile on her face before there was a rustling in the bushes to her left. She immediately took out her last steak knife and lodged it at the bush. There was an animal scream, and she lowered her guard only slightly at the minimal threat. She was, however, more aware of her surroundings, "We need to move," she ordered as she started to walk.

Maddie nodded as she moved away from her children, following the leader of the group, followed by Jazz. Danny started to as well, but stopped when he realized that he was leaving a trail of his blood from his injured wound. It had bled through the apron as he watched his family being led away with a distant look in his eyes. He closed them, knowing that he couldn't escape with them. Vlad would be able to find them almost immediately with the blatant trail that he was leaving, "I can't go," he stated, his voice was weak.

"What?" Jazz asked as she suddenly turned around to confirm what she had heard, "What do you mean, Danny?" She asked as he looked at her, now opening his eyes. He raised his injured arm, which was leaving a trail.

"Crap!" Naomi yelled with clenched teeth as she looked away, "Are you sure you're okay with staying with him?" She asked, not being able to look at the boy whom she had undisputedly failed.

Danny let out a shaky breath, "No," he said in a weak tone, "But you guys need to go," he persisted as he started to walk away from them. "Remember what I said, mom," he stated as Maddie shook her head frantically.

"No!" She yelled out as Jazz looked away, her eyes clenched, "No!" She repeated as Jazz started to drag her mother away from her brother. "I'm not leaving my baby!" She yelled as tears started to fall from her eyes uncontrollably. "Danny!" She yelled as his body grew tense, but he failed to look at his mother as he rounded around the mansion.

"I'll keep them away," he stated in an emotionally devoid tone as he clenched his fists, his walk breaking out into a sprint.

He opened up the doors with a proud smile on his face, "You want me?" He challenged, drawing attention to himself from all of the ghosts. They were all frozen as they looked at him with confusion, "Then come get me," he said through clenched teeth as white rings appeared and transformed him into his ghostly counterpart.

The ghosts all charged into action and started to attack the ghost boy, all with sadistic smirks on their faces and their weapons raised. Danny put up a ghost shield, knocking them all back and they all crashed into various walls and furniture's that were inside of the mansion. "Is that the best you've got?" He taunted as they all growled simultaneously. They were all ready to charge once more, but was stopped when there was heavy footsteps making their way down the stairs.

"That is quite enough," Vlad stated as he made his way to the bottom of the stairs with his arms behind his back in a casual fashion. He started to make his way over to the young halfa, was tensed under his unwavering stare. "That stunt you pulled was very impressive, Daniel," Vlad said as he stood directly in front of the young boy. "Yet, you stayed," Vlad trailed as he looked over at the boy and noticed the blood and ectoplasm that was leaking from the wound on the boy's arm. "Ah, that's why," he said as he smirked in a proud way. "Smart boy," he praised as he looked out into the front yard of the mansion.

"I'm not an idiot, Plasmius," Danny huffed out as his body started to slouch and his face had grown even paler. He looked over at his injured arm and placed his good arm over the wound, which caused him to clench his teeth in pain.

Vlad looked over at him at shrugged indifferently, "That's debatable, my boy," he stated as he started to walk away, "Now, we need you to stop leaking blood and ectoplasm onto the carpet," Vlad said emotionlessly as he walked over to a side table and found a suitable towel. He grasped it and walked over to the boy. "It's already going to leave a questionable stain as it is," he said, voicing his amusement in his tone.

Danny glared at the man as he felt his exhaustion finally get the better of him and couldn't hold up his Phantom form anymore. He fell to his knees as he reverted back to his human self, which made the older halfa smirk, "You certainly have lost a lot of blood…" Vlad mumbled as he none too gently grabbed the boy's injured arm in his steel grip. "Honestly, Daniel, what did you think would happen when you practically cut until you met bone?" He lectured as he shook his head.

"I don't know…" Danny mumbled tiredly, growing tired of Vlad's voice, "Rainbows and kittens?" He asked sarcastically, which made Vlad roll his eyes at him, "Was a little disappointed with what I found," he glared at the older halfa.

Vlad harshly pulled off the makeshift bandage and examined the damage, which made his 'tsk' and shake his head, "This is going to leave a scar," he stated as he placed the towel over the injury, which made the boy hiss in pain as he clenched his fists to avoid lashing out. "That Spanish girl really threw me for a ride," he stated as he suddenly stood up, though with the boy's arm still in his hand, making him stand up suddenly as well. "You're lucky I'm so forgiving, Daniel…" He trailed ominously as they started to head into a hallway. "Otherwise, I would have killed Jack just for your disobedience…" He trailed as he shook his head, still in disbelief at Danny's actions, "And for nearly killing yourself."

Danny almost tripped over his own two feet trying to keep up with him, "Honestly, think I would be better off…" He mumbled as Vlad looked back at him with stern eyes before looking past him, a grin on his face.

"I don't appreciate that kind of talk, Daniel, and I'm sure your mother would agree," Vlad said with a triumphant smirk plastered on his face.

Danny rose an eyebrow in confusion, "What are you-?" He started to ask as he followed the older halfa's line of sight and was met with a surprise. "Mom!" He yelled out with wide eyes. "What…Why are you here?" He asked as he went to go walk to her, but was reminded that he was in Vlad's clutches; literally. Vlad harshly pulled him back into his grip.

Maddie only looked at the ground, "Jazz is safe," she mumbled with a soft smile on her face, "And now you're going to be safe. I won't let him hurt you," she stated in a confident tone.

"How sweet," Vlad sneered before starting to walk, "However, not even you, my dear, can protect Daniel from his father," he stated as he was dragging Danny in tow with him.

"I told you to pick Jazz!" Danny yelled as they were being led further into the hallway, "I told you to pick her!" He yelled as Maddie soon disappeared from his line of sight. He already knew where he was headed, and knew that he was probably going to get another one of those devices. His mother really messed up with his plans, and he didn't know how he was going to get out of there…With his mother now.
