House paced the lengthy hallways that surrounded his office. His leg had been killing him. Not only did he want to shoot himself up with morphine, but wanted to immediately. This extra pain made House extra angry.

"House!" Dr. Cuddy yelled across the hall. "I need you to cover Chase's clinic duty."

"Can't."

Cuddy crossed her arms and sprinted toward her employee. "And why is that?"

"Don't want to."

"It's not a choice, House. Go. Now."

House noticed that there were tons of nurses around, providing him with an excellent opportunity to embarrass her. "Yes ma'am, keep that tone in the bedroom tonight." He winked and limped past Lisa, heading toward the clinic.

Cuddy looked around at the other nurses and smiled nervously, attempting to diffuse the situation as much as she could. Pink in the cheeks, Cuddy walked back to her office.

"You're tired sometimes?" House asked the young blonde woman who was sitting on the exam chair.

"Yeah," She answered, twirling her hair. "I've been more tired than normal. And I have this rash." The woman unbottoned off her blouse, exposing the entire top half of her body.

House blinked and exclaimed, "Good lord!"

"Is it that bad?" The blonde looked worried.

"The rash? No. But those," House moved his eyes straight towards the young 20-something's breasts. "...are astounding."

She looked confused. "Excuse me?"

"Sorry, I was distracted." House grabbed the patient's file. "Did you recently have a cold?"

"Uh," she thought for a moment. "Well, about a week ago I was feeling a little under the weather. I had a throat infection."

"Did you take anything for it?"

The blonde thought again. "I don't really remember, they were little white pills. I think there was a little indentation in the middle."

"Penicillin?" House inquired.

"Yeah! That was it." She smiled.

House rolled his eyes. "Under medications, you didn't mention anything."

"I didn't think it meant those kinds of medications." She grabbed her shirt and quickly covered herself.

"So, under the line 'Medications Taken in the Last 6 Months,' you thought, 'Oh, what the hell, those 'little white pills' I took last week weren't really a medication.'"

The patient got defensive. "I thought it meant, like, Xanax or something."

House widened his eyes. "god, women are stupid." He handed her a bottle of cream. "You had a morbilliform drug reaction. Apply this twice daily for two weeks."

"This will get rid of my rash?"

"Yeah." House opened his mouth, mockingly. "Bye-Bye."

House sat with Dr. Foreman and Dr. Cameron in the diagnostic room, going over a new case. 22-year-old woman who was being treated simply for a sore throat, but after four days, experienced 104 degree fever.

"She was lethargic, had fever, swelling, and shortness of breath," House stated. "Differential diagnosis?"

"Bronchitis, anemia, embolism..." Cameron began listing off terms.

"I'm thinking more differential, Cameron. Less boring words, please."

"Kidney failure." Chase said, walking in.

House was suspicious. "You don't even know the patient."

"Actually, I do. I went and saw her today."

"So, suddenly you're seeing patients?"

"You're the one who never visits patients." Chase retorted.

"Oh, come off it. You went and saw her because she's hot."

"Did not."

"Totally did." House used his 'surfer dude' voice. "It's really cute to see you argue with me." He joked.

"Viral pharyngitis, leptospirosis, acute bacterial pneumonia-" Foreman added.

"Lemierre's syndrome," Cameron stated. "It follows all the symptoms. Renal failure, cough, fever."

Foreman agreed. "Her fever did show up four days after her throat began bothering her."

"The chest radiograph and tomogram showed pus in her lungs." Chase handed the screenings to House.

"You, drain the pus," House looked to Cameron. Looking over to Foreman, he said, "Start her on Metronidazole."

Chase spoke up, "I'll go with them."

"No, you won't." House stopped him with his cane. "Your raging hormones don't belong around her."

"I don't like her!" Chase insisted.

"Yeah, and I don't think Dr. Cuddy has a smokin' hot ass." House blinked. "Stay away from her."

Cameron walked in on the patient, who was coughing, but looked decent enough. When the brunette started getting the needle ready for the procedure, the patient began shifting her eyes, nervously.

"I'm going to do very simple procedure," Dr. Cameron told the young patient. "It's going to be okay. It's non-invasive. It's called Thoracentesis. I'm going to insert the needle and get rid of the pus in your lungs. You're going to feel much better." Her tone was soft and appealing. "Can you sit up for me please?"

The young woman, named Addy, obeyed her doctor.

Cameron numbed Addy's back. Using an ultrasound, she inserted the needle between two ribs and removed the fluid.

"Thank you, Doctor." Addy said when Cameron concluded the procedure.

"You did really well," Cameron smiled. "I'll come back to check up in a little bit." She walked out of the room, but stopped when her patient called out.

"Doctor! My arm!" She lifted her arm to show Cameron. "It hurts really bad."

Allison looked at Addy's arm. It was blue and swollen. "I need a vein catheter in here, stat!" She barked at the nurses who were standing outside the room.

One nurse came running. She handed the tools to Cameron, who inserted the catheter into the vein on Addy's arm.

"What's going on?" Addy began breathing hard, causing her to cough more.

"You're experiencing thrombosis," Cameron said, focusing on the procedure. "Your vein is compressed between your rib and collarbone. I need you to breathe." Eventually, Cameron fixed the problem. She got the patient into stable condition, and headed back to House's office.

"The patient had thrombosis. It's probably a complication from Lemierre's." Cameron stated to her boss.

An hour later, Foreman entered the room. "Addy's doing well. I started her on the Metronidazole."

"Where's Chase?" House asked.

"I don't know. Last time I saw him, he told me he was headed toward the cafeteria."

"Yeah, right." House limped past them.

House wasn't surprised when he saw Chase sitting on the edge of Addy's bed, laughing. House hit his cane against the glass window. "Dr. Chase!"

Chase jumped and looked behind him. "House!"

"Come here. I need you to verify that I can pick up your ointment."

Chase was appalled. "I don't have any ointment!"

"Oh, don't be shy. Everyone gets a little itchy, down there, sometimes. It's nothing to feel embarrassed about."

Chase apologized to Addy and followed House out.

"Are you having fun?"

"Yes," House replied. "I told you to stay away from her. Ger over it. You can't bang her. She's sick. Kind of a boner-killer."

Chase huffed. "I'm not trying to bang her."

"So, your plans are totally platonic with the vulnerable, busty blonde who hangs at your every word?"

"Uh-huh." Chase said, a twinge of guilt in his eyes.

"And they call me sick."
