A/N: I don't know, I think turkey burgers taste the same as regular beef burgers.

Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom.

The young halfa had pulled over a black shirt over his head, and was about to cover his body when Jazz walked into the room. Daniel glanced his dark blue eyes over to his sister momentarily until he resumed tugging the shirt down. He had quickly tugged it over his bandaged wound, causing him to let out a small hiss in complaint.

"It still hurts…?" Jazz asked, taking a cautious step into the room. Her right hand raised to her chest as she eyed her little brother in concern. "What can I do to help?"

He shook his head, dismissing her offer. "Nothing," he gruffly responded, turning towards her. "There's nothing that anyone can do. My ghost powers are healing it for now."

Just not quick enough.

"At least go see the doctor…"

"What will he be able to do for an inhuman like me-?" He spoke, a smirk appearing on his face. Daniel quickly wiped it off, knowing that Jazz wouldn't be one to appreciate self-depreciating jokes. "Is the Fenton Portal still operational?"

Jazz eyed him with mild suspicion. "It…is…" she was hesitant to answer him. "What are you thinking about doing? You said before that you have family there, but who could….?" She shook her head, deeply thinking about her little brother's words that were spoken not even an hour earlier.

"Jack and Danielle," Daniel answered for her. He wasn't hiding anything from her, it's just that she hadn't asked him about it until now. The young halfa wasn't about to spout off his plans for others to overhear, or worse…attempt to stop him.

He began to stride out of the room, that was, until Jazz latched onto his shoulder. "You aren't going alone-!"

"I'd rather not take you with me…" He blatantly spoke, eyeing her with annoyance. She blinked her eyes and frowned, releasing her hand from her brother. Jazz understood that there was nothing that she would be able to do, regardless if she went with him or not.

She would only be a hindrance.

She couldn't fight like Sam, Valerie, or Naomi.

"But, you can't use your ghost powers!" Jazz spoke, making Daniel click his tongue with annoyance.

He was concerned with using too much of his ghost powers since he had a major injury…his healing factor was taking up most of his ghost power reserves.

I'll be fine – I'm not like the rest of them.

He rolled his eyes and tilted his head to the side. The young halfa knew that it would be too dramatic to push his fingers into his ears to drag out her nagging – he had remembered that it was just as bad as before…before the world went to complete shit.

Jazz the forever spazz.

"Jazz, I can use my powers. It will be fine," he insisted.

Vlad's training was nothing compared to his current injured predicament. He was sure that it would be inconvenient to travel into the Ghost Zone the way that he was, but it certainly wouldn't be impossible.

He would just need to be sure to not push himself beyond his body could handle.

"And the Ghost Portal?" He questioned. "You seemed unsure of your answer from before."

Daniel turned to give his sister a raised, inquisitive eyebrow.

Jazz pursed her lips, looking away nervously. "Vlad's ghosts are guarding it."

"Who?"

"It's the warden ghost."

Daniel made a face of surprise, his eyebrows shooting up for a second. "Walker," he recognized the vague description instantly. "He shouldn't be a problem," he muttered under his breath. "Not for much longer," he added, not caring about who had heard him, even if that was his sister.

It was time to put him to permanent rest.

"D-Danny," she called, stopping him a final time. He about to leave the room that the GIW had supplied him. "Are you…" She swallowed, not sure if she wanted to voice her concerns out loud. "Are you going to kill him?"

"He's in my way," he responded.

Daniel hadn't directly answered her question. He knew that his compassionate sister wouldn't share his same views – the views that Vlad had nailed into his head. Death, murder, and killing was a solid way into getting what you want. Mercy, and sparing your enemy is practically asking for them to come back and kill you later on.

Precisely what I'll to do Vlad.

He should have killed me when he had the chance.

"Please, you can't-!"

"Goodbye, Jazz," Daniel spoke with no emotion in his voice. There wasn't a hint of warmth in his cold tone of icy words. "I'll see you later." He left the room, not daring to look back at the older teen that he had chosen to leave behind.

He landed outside of his old house, the faint memories wanting to resurface. Daniel shook his head, not wanting to at all be weak. He couldn't afford sentimental attachments to bring back the last remaining piece of humanity from within him.

Danny Fenton was dead.

His eyes illuminated green, quelling the triggering memories. He let out a long breath before turning intangible and venturing downwards into the basement. The young halfa spotted Walker instantly, along with his right hand man, Bullet.

"I knew that the ghost brat wouldn't listen to orders…" Walker growled out.

Daniel snapped his fingers, turning the entire basement into a freezer. He landed on the ground as Walker and Bullet were taken aback by the sudden change in temperature. Icicles were forming along the walls, and they both could see their breath.

"W-W-What happened-?" Bullet asked.

"I-I-I-It's that g-ghost b-b-brat-!" Walker narrowed his eyes. Daniel turned tangible again, his raised hand in the air. A glare was on his face, and he was forming a green ecto-blast in the palm of his hand. Walker's eyes widened, and he moved to dodge out of the way.

Unfortunately for him…the ghost warden had slipped on the icy ground.

Daniel smirked, unleashing a torrent of ecto-blasts, each one more intense and powerful than the last. He kept going, taking a step with each blast he sent towards the ghost warden. A smoke screen was building up, preventing Bullet from seeing the damage that was being done to his boss. The young halfa kept progressing, not at all deterred from his veiled target.

The ecto-blasts were beginning to sound deafening, and Bullet flinched at the merciless attacks. The ghost could only stare in terror as his mouth was beginning to open in shock.

Daniel had stopped firing, and instead slowly turned his head to Bullet, who flinched at the unwanted attention. He had fought against the ghost child in the past before, but he had never looked so…demented.

There was a dangerous, sadistic glint in the teen's eye this time.

It was unlike anything that he had seen before.

The smoke cleared away, revealing a pile of white clothes. The ghost warden was no more, and instead a green goop of ecto-plasm was resting on the floor. Bullet couldn't tear his eyes away from the scene, knowing that he was soon to be met with the same, horrible fate.

"P-Please-!" Bullet attempted to plead. He placed his hands up in the air, and Daniel watched without any emotion at the action. "Please, I don't want to die-!"

He readied another ecto-blast, ready to once more begin his deadly barrage until a hand forced his arm up into the air. Daniel scoffed at the interruption, glancing at who dared to stop his murder spree. Valerie stood in front of him with a large frown of disapproval on her face.

Bullet scampered to his feet and quickly turned intangible.

"What are you doing?" Daniel asked, irritated that he had been stopped.

"I should be asking that to you!" Valerie placed her hands on her waist. Daniel let out a long sigh, dropping his arms to his side. The ecto-blast fizzing out in his palm, much to the young halfa's displeasure. "You never used to kill ghosts, Danny!"

He rolled his eyes. "I'm not Danny," he argued, walking towards the sealed Ghost Portal in front of him. The room's icy interior was beginning to melt, the icicles that had formed around the room were slowly melting. Daniel stepped over a large puddle caused from the heat returning to the room, and instead focused on the panel that was beside the portal.

"Clearly you aren't," Valerie agreed, shaking her head, though Daniel couldn't see it. "Jazz told me what you were up to."

"That's pretty apparent," Daniel muttered under his breath. Valerie had still been able to hear it, though. He pressed his hand to the panel, the portal opening up with an ear screeching creak. It hadn't been opened in months, so it was almost expected from the machinery. "She still hasn't learned to not stick her nose in my business."

Valerie stood next to Daniel. "She was concerned about you going off by yourself…" She said, peering into the green void that was the zone. She couldn't believe how careless the young halfa was being. It was obvious that he was not fit to go anywhere it his condition. "You're bleeding through your shirt, by the way."

"Shit…" Daniel looked down at his shirt, pulling the material up to see the green and red liquid running down his body. "Might have overdid it," he spoke his thoughts out loud. He placed his shirt back down and let out a sigh in discontent. "Too late to go back and change now."

"You can wait to enact whatever plan you have in there," she pointed to the zone. Then, she finally turned to Daniel, who was wiping away some of the blood and ecto-plasm that he managed to get on his hand. "You're still healing."

He shook his head. "I can't. I need to do this and stop Vlad while he's still thinking about his next moves."

Valerie shook her head. "You can wait to do that – Vlad takes a long time to formulate a plan, doesn't he?" She rhetorically asked. Daniel frowned, not sure on whether to agree with her or not. "How long did it even take for him to plan to take over the world?"

"Months," Daniel groveled out. "I understand what you're saying," he glanced at Valerie from the corner of his eyes. "I still need to do this," he frowned lightly, already knowing that the hot headed girl would react negatively.

"What-? You-!" Valerie stumbled over her own words. Then, she breathed deeply to calm herself down. Shaking her head, as she brought her hands down in front of her. "Okay," she quietly managed to get out. "Okay! But, I'm coming with. That's final. Someone has to watch your bag and drag you back to HQ when you…" She shifted her glance back to his bled through shirt. "Inevitably pass out from blood loss."

Daniel didn't lift his frown. "Your faith in me is astounding," he spoke dryly, hovering in the air.

He transformed into his ghost form with a black ring around his mid-section. Valerie didn't comment on the color of the ring since Sam had already been upset that it had changed its color from white to black. Valerie had a feeling that it was Vlad's influence since she had seen him transform once – his ring color was also black.

"Let's get back before dinner," Valerie clicked her heels together and jumped in the air, summoning her hover board.

They had been flying for about ten minutes. Valerie looked over at Daniel to see that he had paled significantly. "Do you need to rest-?"

His back felt as though it were on fire, but he would never outwardly complain or demand that they stop to rest. He wouldn't be a nuisance to his own mission, and if suffering through this terrible torture is what it took then he would do it.

Since she asked, though…

"Only if you need to," he glanced over at his companion, though his voice was obviously strained.

Valerie let out a sigh, landing on a nearby floating rock. It would be big enough to accommodate the two of them, and as she elegantly landed effortlessly on it…Daniel, stumbled forward, nearly landing on his face. He breathed deeply, lifting his shirt up to see the extent of his injuries again.

As he lifted up his shirt, a stringy green ecto-plasm line solidified from his shirt to the bandages. Valerie let out a face, feeling herself frowning in disgust. She kept her distaste silent and resorted to crossing her arms.

Daniel kept breathing loudly, unable to catch his breath.

"The Zone might have been a bad idea…" He muttered, bringing his hand out to slam it on the ground of the rock. Daniel breathed in sharply, hunching himself over as a pulse of pain shot through his back. "I think it's trying to heal me."

"Really?" Valerie was no longer disgusted and instead was curious. She walked over to where the hunched over teenager was to examine his wound. "Can I see?"

Daniel nodded. "Can you tell me exactly what you see?"

"Sure," Valerie pulled down on the bandages to see the gaping hole in his back. She could see the damaged muscle spasm, attempting to heal itself back together. The bone, that was, the base of his spine could still be prominently seen. She bit on her bottom lip, seeing the tendrils of green ecto-plasm shooting out of the hole.

The stringy tendrils weren't connected to anything and were hanging in the air – it was almost as if they were underwater, with the way the ecto-plasm was acting.

"You have green ecto-plasm strings all around the hole."

Daniel nodded. "It feel like it," he felt a shiver run up his spine. "It feel like it's crawling inside of me…"

"We can turn around," Valerie offered, not wanting her friend to suffer through any unnecessary pain. "As I said, we can resume this another day." She pulled the bandages back up. Valerie was expecting Daniel to agree with her, and instead felt frustrated when he shook his head.

He pulled his shirt back down and stood up straight slowly.

"Now is better," he eyed the green, empty void in front of him. "He won't have as much security in the Zone right now."

Valerie groaned. "You are impossible – it seems like nothing and everything has changed about you!" She raised her hands up in the air, expressing her anger fully. Daniel glanced behind him, giving Valerie a strained smile. Valerie wasn't fooled by his attempt to extinguish her anger – she had seen faker things on a daily basis…Paulina couldn't even compare to this smile.

"Sorry about that," he spoke without any hint of remorse in his tone.

"No you aren't!" She could smell his lie a mile away.

He shrugged. "We can continue," he waved his hand in front of the both of them. She glared sharply at the young halfa who didn't let her heated gaze deter him from he needed to do. He felt the need to say something else, and so he came up with another lie that slipped off his tongue easily:

"I feel much better."

"Another lie," Valerie shook her head. She clicked her heels and jumped in the air, her hover board materializing underneath her. "Just keep quiet if you're going to keep lying." She flew ahead of him, not looking back to see the way that he forced himself into the air with a cringe.

The trip was silent again.

"There," Daniel said, pointing to Skulker's island. He took in a deep breath and prepared to land. Daniel shakily placed his foot out to land on, but couldn't put his entire weight on it. He fell to the ground, rolling on the ground for a few feet until skidding to a stop.

"Ah – Geez-!" Valerie yelled after him. She landed on the ground herself, running over to where the collapsed teen had landed. He was gripping his chest, feeling his heart beating loudly. "Are you alright-?" Valerie began to say, but saw the sweat on his face. "Hey-!" He closed his eyes, blinking them back open, struggling in vain to keep himself awake. "Danny, you stay with me!"

He was releasing labored breaths.

Valerie didn't know what to do – this was beyond her skills with basic first aid.

"Danny!" Danielle's voice came running through the forest that they had found themselves in. "What happened-?" She demanded, but Skulker emerged from the forest. He was holding a device in his hand that was blinking rapidly.

"I should have known that my proximity alarm would have been him…" Skulker spoke, walking over to the male halfa, who was struggling to keep himself conscious. "You're lucky you ended up here," he looked at Danielle, who now had Daniel in her arms.

Valerie was impressed that such a small girl could hold his weight until she remembered that Danielle was a halfa, too.

"It wasn't luck," Valerie commented, but Skulker didn't look away from the dying young halfa, who was very much bleeding out on his lawn. "Danny wanted to come here to see Danielle," her eyes landed over to the young girl.

"To see me-?" Danielle wanted to know more, but was cut off by Skulker.

"Ellie, prepare for a blood transfusion," Skulker spoke, drawing the girl's eyes to him. "I think that we'll find that you'll be a perfect match."

Danielle nodded, not arguing with the man that had saved her from death.

"Okay!"

Daniel groggily opened his eyes, feeling that he had almost seen the final white light in the tunnel. He turned his head while taking in a deep breath to find Danielle. She was standing at his side with a big smile, her eyes wide with relief as he stared up at her.

"Danny-!" She yelled, hugging him tightly. Daniel was about to ask what had happened until his eyes lingered on a tightly, but expertly, wound white bandage on her arm. She was wearing a black tank top and her hair had been cut down to her shoulders – much like Jazz had cut hers.

Unlike Jazz, she didn't have natural curls at the ends.

"I'm so glad that you're awake!"

"I'm glad that you're safe…" Daniel commented, heaving a sigh of relief. "Skulker told me that you were in safe hands. I didn't believe him, but I had to at the time…" He closed his eyes for a brief second until he opened them again.

He felt tired.

"Do you mind if I rest…for a little while?" Daniel asked, straining a smile at her.

Danielle nodded. "Yeah…" She trailed, just knowing that he was fine was a huge relief. She didn't doubt Skulker's words that she was a perfect match…she was Daniel's clone, after all. "Yeah, of course…uh…"

She took a step back and gave him a beaming smile.

"Call if you need anything! I'll come running!"

She ran out of the small room that he had been placed in.

He lulled his head to the side.

He really did feel…so tired.

Just a quick power nap…

To be continued…

A/N: How many of you are even reading this story anymore? That's okay. I'm merely ghost writing at this point. I'm here to just archive this book and put it to its final rest.

Am I getting too dark with killing off the ghosts?

Hmm.

I don't think so – you wouldn't be reading this story if you want a happy ending, right? It's angst, so of course you aren't expecting a happy story!

No update tomorrow – update Monday! ;)
