Within the past six months, D.H.S. Agent Frankie Rae had been bounced all along the border states in a vain attempt to get ahead of these attacks. There was no pattern behind the attacks as far as anyone could see, save for the loss of life, civilian casualties, and law enforcement ties.

She had walked the rubble left in the wake of the Albuquerque bombing as she had been debriefed on the details. Loss of life totaled in the high thirties, including twelve civilians, with at least four still unaccounted for.

It was while in New Mexico that she had learned of the attack on the acting El Paso police chief in Texas. Sitting there on the edge of her bed, she watched the screen before her as the news anchor on WNN reported on the uptick in violence along the U.S./Mexico border. The scenes of the burning rubble that had once been the D.E.A. building in Albuquerque still fresh in her head as she drank down another glass of Bourbon.

Frankie hadn't been surprised when she got a phone call the following morning. In fact, she had already packed up her bags figuring that she was being sent to help investigate the scene of yet another attack. However, when the orders had come for her to return to L.A., frustration and confusion laid just under her surface.

"I'll be on the next flight out." She said evenly. "Zero Nine Hundred, yes sir." She said before hanging up.

Frankie then walked over to the window of the hotel she was staying in, a hand lifting to press the curtain aside as she glanced out over the early morning cityscape before her. She couldn't help but let out a sigh. There was a significant threat to the U.S. and she was being called back to the L.A. Field Office?

'This better be important' She though to herself.

After flying back to L.A. and being read in on the new task force, Frankie was left with folders containing relevant information on her new 'teammates' and a bad taste in her mouth. This bureaucratic bulls**t was getting under her skin but orders were orders. With a sigh, She dug into the information laid out before her in those folders to prepare herself for the meeting scheduled for early that next morning.
