Chapter Two: Meet The Ironblood
König looked around at all the different ship-girls gathered around him. They all just simply stared at him in mass mutual silence. Apparently, their brains were still trying to process that what they were seeing was in fact real. He couldn't blame them in all honesty, his existence was unprecedented in practically every way. Taking a closer look at the gathered kansen, he began figuring who was what class. He noticed the smallest ones looked to be destroyers or submarines. The girls just slightly larger were most likely cruisers. The kansen that stood a little shorter than him, were most likely heavy cruisers. Meanwhile, the ones that stood more or less at his height must have been battleships, battlecruisers, and aircraft carriers.
Though he couldn't help but notice one woman who stood taller than most of the others and had large horns on her head. Then he noticed another woman who had a rather large set of "fuel tanks" and a mini version of her standing at the side. Wait a sec? Could kansen have kids? The smaller one certainly looked like she could be the larger one's child. He pushed that thought aside as a question for later. As he realized there was still an incredibly awkward silence in the air. He took a few steps forward and cleared his throat, deciding he needed to break the quiet.
"Guten Tag, everyone." He greeted politely to the crowd. "As the Kommandantin said before my name is König of the battleship class. As you've noticed I'm quite different from other kansen in an obvious way. That being a result of the unique nature of my construction and before you ask. No, I am not at liberty to share many details with anyone without explicit permission. I will admit I have a fair amount to learn but I look forward to learning from you all." Once he finished talking the silence returned once more.
Then a figure emerged from the crowd and walked her way to him. She looked to be a destroyer thought a bit larger than the others. Her uniform was a mix of red, gold, white, and a darker blue. She even had a cape and uniform matching cap that rested on top of her blond hair. She stopped right in front of him, her violet eyes staring at his blue. She raised a hand out towards him and smiled before speaking.
"Greetings König, I'm Z23 or Nimi as others around the port have come to call me. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the Ironblood." The destroyer stated warmly.
König smiled from behind his mask and met his hand with hers and shook. "I'm happy to be here Nimi."
That seemed to be the thing that permanently broke the silence as the room erupted in murmurs of curiosity. Nimi took König to the rest of those gathered to better introduce him to them all. Bismarck remained in her spot watching the whole display in thought. She was broken out of her thoughts by a tug at her arm, turning her head she saw Maruyama.
"There are a few things I need to discuss with you about your newest member. In private, just between the two of us." Spoke the Eagle Union officer. Bismarck nodded her head and headed off to her office with Maruyama following.
Tirpitz glanced from the side of her eyes as her sister and commander left together. She didn't think much of it, knowing that it must be very important and only for Bismarck's ears for the time being. She put her gaze back to the crowd and the newest and rather interesting member of the Ironblood. Tirpitz wasn't the most sociable person, all her time alone in her past existence being responsible for that. Still, it would be rude not to properly introduce herself. With that, she strode her way to the crowd to greet König.
Nimi was currently greeting the hybrid-battleship to the initial group gathered. She pointed to each of the ship-girls and gave their names to him. "König I'd like you to meet Prinz Eugen, Prinz Heinrich and, Leipzig." Nimi stated.
He took a good at the three currently in front of him. The one known as Eugen was looking at him with a playful, yet inquisitive look. She was dressed in a military-like uniform with a feminine touch. Especially with the outfit showing off a good amount of the sides of her sizeable bust. The one called Heinrich stood next to her and had an even more revealing outfit. With the whole bottom half of her bust, hanging out for all to see. To his credit, he did manage to not stare and kept focused on her face. She looked at him with a rather joyful expression that brimmed with excitement.
The final girl was a bit smaller and wearing a military-style uniform, though much different from Eugen's. The poor girl for some reason looked as though she was going to faint at any moment. Did he come across as that intimidating? He did design his outfit to have somewhat of an imposing presence. Still, he didn't think he was outright scary-looking. He would have to investigate that one.
"Nice to meet you all," König began as he then looked to Leipzig. "Are you okay? You look like about to faint, if I'm frightening you somehow I apologize."
At that Leipzig's eyes widened and quickly tried to squeak out a response but kept tripping over her words. Thankfully Eugen saved her from any further embarrassment.
"Don't mind her she's just rather shy and nervous around people, especially new ones." She explained, "That said she still manages to perform all her duties admirably." Leipzig visibly calmed and finally managed to speak. "Thank you, Eugen," The cruiser managed to speak. "It's good to meet you König."
"So cool, we have a new battleship and a guy too!" Heinrich practically cheered. "I looked forward to seeing what you can do on a sortie. The first sortie you go on I'm definitely going to be on the vanguard for that. Being a heavy cruiser like Eugen here. I'm sure Eisen will get a real kick out of you!"
"Who's that?" He questioned.
"That's what Heinrich calls her rigging." Eugen answered "Regardless, I share her sentiments when it comes to you. I look forward to seeing just what you can do and what you're about." Eugen spoke up in her nonchalant manner as she continued to eye the hybrid.
König's instincts couldn't help but flare up towards the heavy cruiser. Despite her seemingly aloof and ditzy way, she presented herself. He couldn't help but feel she studied everything around her. With more intensity and analysis than she showed. He made a mental note to be a bit wary around Eugen until further notice.
"What a pleasant surprise, I have many daughters but this's the first time I've had a son. Who is also a fellow battleship to no less." A very caring-sounding feminine voice said from behind him. Before he could react though a pair of arms wrapped around him. The next thing he knew he was being hugged back first into a pair of large and pleasantly squishy objects. It didn't take a genius to figure out what they were. König was glad he had a mask otherwise, his blushing face would be very visible. He turned his head around and saw it was the woman with the horns he noticed earlier. She was looking at him pleasantly like a mother would her child, who she hadn't seen in a while.
"Welcome my child, I'm Friedrich der Grosse of the battleship class. Should you need any help with anything please don't hesitate to ask me. A mother must help her children after all." Der Grosse spoke as she then placed a hand on top of his head and gently patted it. The woman practically glowed with a motherly aura.
Now while many would be rather taken aback by some rando suddenly showering them with motherly affection. König for his part actually didn't mind it much to his own surprise. In fact, he found himself to be rather enjoying it.
"Let's pause for a moment here." He thought to himself. "Am I really so emotionally starved for any kind of motherly affection? That I will so willingly and easily accept it from the first person who so genuinely means it and gives it to me? What am I thinking, of course, I am. I've spent my whole life without any kind of mother figure at all, at any point."
"Forgive der Grosse for her forwardness." Piped Eugen "She's views everyone in the Ironblood as her children."
"Der Grosse release the boy before you embarrass him to death by accident." A new voice suddenly spoke up. König looked to see a woman with white hair wearing a mostly white uniform. The newcomer introduced herself once der Grosse released him. "I'm Tirpitz, the second ship of Bismarck-class battleships. I look forward to seeing what strength you bring to the table." Tirpitz announced politely.
He noticed she seemed to be looking like some sort of puzzle to figure out. Normally he would be annoyed by such looks, all things considered, he couldn't blame anyone at the moment for it. He tilted his head in return as a polite greeting. "I look forward to showing you what I can do."
Tirpitz regarded him for few more moments before speaking up. "You mentioned your construction is rather unique. I recall you said you aren't permitted to say much about it. However, I can't help but ask as to what exactly you can tell us?" The lonely queen of the north asked in curiosity.
All eyes focused on König as they were all rather curious about what he could tell them about his origins. The hybrid was surprised by the question he knew such things would be coming his way. "Indeed, I can't say much but what I can tell you is this. While it is not apparent in my general appearance. It will be noticeable in the look of my rigging, I'm in fact part siren." König noticed everyone around him noticeably stiffen and their eyes widen in surprise. Even from those who are generally in good control of their emotions and reactions. "Let me continue by saying that I'm not a danger to any of you or Azur Lane as a whole. If there was a chance that I was, the Kommandantin nor high command would have permitted me to be here." Those around him relaxed a little at that statement.
"Forgives us for our reaction K- König, we meant no offense." Spoke up Leipzig.
The hybrid shrugged his shoulders a bit in response. "Don't worry about it, I'm not bothered by it. Such reactions are what I expected in truth."
"Anyways," Nimi cut in "Let's continue getting you to know everyone else."
Meanwhile, at another section of the Ironblood dorms, Bismarck and the commander were situated in the battleship's office. "I'm sure you've already figured out what I have to say concerns your newest member." Maruyama began as she sat in a rather nice leather chair. That was situated in front of an elegantly carved wooden desk. Behind it sat the leader and pride of the Ironblood in an even nicer chair with a contemplative look on her face, as Maruyama continued. "What I'm about to say is all I'm permitted to speak about per orders from high command. Presides them, myself, Vestal as she was the one who treated him and yourself. As well as the leaders of the other major factions of this info as well. Outside of that, no one else is to know any of this, understand?"
Bismarck gave a simple nod of her head in understanding.
"First and for most you can tell König is incredibly unique for a kansen simply by being male. The reason for that being he was once a normal human before becoming what he now is." Even the usually stoic Bismarck couldn't prevent having a visibly shocked look spread across her face at that info. Though the commander continued before the battleship could speak. "His father was a scientist who was studying into the research of wisdom cubes and siren energy. He was assisting in the lab when an experiment went out of control. Which resulted in the death of said father and turned him into what he now is."
Bismarck reigned in her surprise and began to put certain pieces together. "That's why Vestal took off in a hurry from port a few weeks back without any real explanation. As well as why you left sometime later without any real explanation as well."
"That's correct, considering the nature of the situation. Everything was needed to be kept hush-hush as much as possible." Maruyama explained "Due to his unusual circumstance, he'll need some proper evaluating on his abilities. We're not sure as of yet just how naturally operating his rigging comes to him, when compared to normal kansen. While I don't expect you to coddle him and I'm sure he wouldn't want anyone to either. I do ask though that you be patient with him and try not to be too rough at the start. While I do want him ready for sorties when needed, I also don't want him to be pushed too hard, too quickly. He still needs to be eased into his new role and by extension, very existence. At least to some degree as I'm sure you can understand."
Bismarck on her part was still trying to wrap her head around the concept of a normal human turned into a kansen. Even if it all was by complete accident, still she understood Maruyama's reasoning. She honestly felt a small tinge of respect for the boy. Anyone who could go through what he did and keep pushing forward, possessed a good deal of strength and resiliency. Something that she certainly found approving.
"I understand Kommandantin, I will see that he's brought up to combat readiness steadily," Bismarck replied.
Maruyama grinned in response. "Glad to hear it because that leads me into my next point. I need you and Tirpitz to be the ones to train him."
Bismarck blinked absentmindedly for a few moments. "What?"
"You heard me correctly Bismarck," Maruyama replied without missing a beat. "Amongst the Ironblood the aren't many who qualify to train him in the ways of operating in the ways of a battleship. And between the few that do, you and Tirpitz are the only ones who are truly suitable for the task. You two will do just fine giving the needed guidance to König. Think of it as mentoring a little brother of sorts."
While she wasn't quite sure about the whole little brother aspect. Bismarck couldn't argue with the assessment of her and Tirpitz training König. "Very well Kommandantin, mein Schwester, and I will see to his training."
"I know you two are plenty capable of the task." The Japanese-American spoke with a bit of a smirk. "Now this next bit isn't really a secret since you'll be able to tell once you see his rigging. Due to the nature of his creation, König is part siren. No need to worry he's not a danger to us. I'd never would've allowed him into the port if I felt that he was. If anything he can be extremely valuable to everyone here at Azur Lane. I don't think I need to explain just how beneficial, having someone who could wield power. That is potentially comparable to sirens like Purifier on our side. Not to mention the greater insight to siren tech such a person could grant as well."
Once more Bismarck found herself quite surprised. Something that was happening alarmingly a lot all of a sudden. Nonetheless, she could certainly see where the Eagle Union Commander across from her was coming from. Though it also rose a question to the forefront of her mind. "Is that why you're assigning him to the Ironblood? Considering I have a far greater understanding of siren technology than anyone else here."
Maruyama couldn't help but chuckle in response to that. Bismarck raised an eyebrow in confusion as to why she was laughing.
"Not at all actually, that just happens to be a nice perk." She began after getting her laughter in check. "You see I didn't make the choice to assign him to the Ironblood. I gave him the choice to pick any one of the factions here to join, even the minor ones. He chose to join the Ironblood completely of his volition. He did so because he felt the Ironblood provided what he needed for his sudden new path in life. He's putting his trust into you and everyone else here in that regard."
"He chose to join us?" Bismarck couldn't help but mentally question herself. Considering the less than good recent history of the Ironblood and by extension the Sakura Empire. Adding in the fact, her faction's reputation to be rather intense compared to most others. The fact someone in König's position would voluntarily join the Ironblood. Was rather unexpected and admittedly a tad flattering. After mulling that information over a bit more, a small smile graced Bismarck's face. "Then I shall ensure with all my ability his trust does not feel misplaced."
Maruyama gave a smile of her own in return. "Good to know, that pretty much covers everything for now. I'll need to return to my office, no doubt I have some of that damnable paperwork in need of addressing. I leave things in your capable hands."
With all that said both proceeded to make their way back to the dorm common area. Both women paused to see the sight before them. König currently sat relaxed on a couch surrounded by many other Ironbloods. They all seemed to be in pleasant conversation with each other. The Commander smirked a little at the sight before giving an approving look towards Bismarck. Before she turned on her heel and strode out of the dorm.
Bismarck put her more stoic expression back on her face as she shifted back into her strong leadership role. "König!" She called out with some authority in her voice and to her approval. The hybrid didn't hesitate to excuse himself from the group and immediately make his way to her. He stopped only a few paces from her and held himself in an attenuative stance. "Lord Bismarck" He respectfully replied.
"Follow me, I shall show you to your quarters here at the dorms." The leader of the Ironblood simply stated as she walked off, König following behind. "The Kommandantin informed of all she could of your situation. Let me say I'm glad you chose to join us here over the rest. Mein Schwester and I shall be in charge of bringing you up to combat readiness in a proper and timely manner." The hybrid's eyebrows shot up in surprise at that. It was unexpected but certainly, welcome all the same. "Your training shall begin tomorrow," Bismarck continued on "though your first day will be more of an assessment of your current abilities. From there we will focus on what needs the most addressing." Bismarck then stopped in front of a door, pulled out a key from apparent thin air, and pushed the door open. "This will be your room." She stated, taking a step aside to allow the hybrid to walk into the room.
König looked around the room and found it to be rather spacious for a barracks room. It was furnished with a dresser, two sides tables that sat on either side of a queen-sized bed. There was also a desk with a nice comfy-looking chair, he noticed a large door that led to a good-sized closet. He noticed another door that led to a full-sized bathroom. "Are all the rooms this nice in the dorm?" He muttered out loud to himself.
"Most aren't in truth," Bismarck answered "many of the girls share a room in pairs of two. Though considering you are a man, it would be improper for you to bunk with one of them. This sort of room is usually only for high-ranking members or important guests. Since you happen to be the only man in both the Ironblood and the entire port in general. You get this sort of room out of necessity as a result."
König turned towards Bismarck and gave a bow of his head in gratitude. "Thank you for this Lord Bismarck, this means a lot, truly."
A small smile tugged at the battleship's lips. "Your thanks are appreciated König. I do all that I can for the sake of those under my command never doubt that. Now tomorrow I expect you to meet me and Tirpitz at the training grounds at 0800 sharp tomorrow." Bismarck stated returning to her more serious persona.
"I will ensure to be on time if not early, Lord Bismarck."
"Good, some manjuu should be here soon to drop off all your luggage. Take the time to get yourself settled in and relax. I shall see you tomorrow morning König."
"Till tomorrow Lord Bismarck." The hybrid replied and snapped a salute, which Bismarck returned before taking her leave. With his commanding officer now gone, König relaxed. He took a moment to look around his room once before letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "It's almost crazy to think this is all really happening. Only about a month ago I was just a relatively normal teenager, now this. Somehow in a way, it feels like an entire lifetime ago."
The hybrid spent the rest of the day getting himself settled into his room before getting to bed early. He wanted to be at his best for his initial evaluation after all. Now being early morning the next day, König made sure to arise early enough to get properly prepared. Having taken a quick shower and now dressed in his Ironblood attire. He took what time he had to head to the dorm kitchen.
While there was a general mess hall that was available for the factions on base. The dorms were also equipped with a communal kitchen and the fridges were kept stocked with general food supplies. Something he was glad for, he didn't feel like dealing with the madness his presence would cause at the mess hall. He would be badgered endlessly by various different faction members. He would have to face that eventually but today wasn't the day for it.
He was greeted by a few of the other girls who were already up for whatever reason. They somewhat lazily waved hello to him, still being half asleep, since the coffee hadn't quite kicked in yet. König made himself a large breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs and ham, bacon, sausage, shredded hash-browns and, buttered toast. To be washed down with a glass of milk and a cup of coffee with creamer and two scoops of sugar.
What could he say? The American in him had to win out in a few ways after all.
After devouring his breakfast and cleaning up his dishes, he made his way out of the dorms and to the training grounds. He managed to make it there without running into anyone. Which was good, he didn't want to suffer any unneeded delays. He arrived at the training grounds with twenty minutes to spare and noticed no one else was there. Bismarck must've had it reserved for his evaluation at least for the morning anyways.
Taking in the area he made note of how it was arranged. The training grounds are essentially a large stretch of beach. With sections and portions of the ocean divided in specific manners. In one section a multitude of buoys arranged in the manner of what must have been some sort of agility course. Another section was sectioned off that made it appear as some sort of sparring area. Lastly, another section had buoys arranged so that it created single person-sized zones. That faced the wide-open ocean for target practice.
As he turned back towards the port he saw the figures of both Bismarck and Tirpitz approaching. The younger sister was carrying a crate filled with some sort of equipment along with her. Bismarck also seemed to have a recording device. Once his two fellow battleships neared, he snapped a salute that Bismarck returned.
"Guten Morgen, König." Bismarck spoke up. "Glad to see you're the punctual type, me and Tirpitz will be evaluating you this morning." Tirpitz dipped her head in acknowledgment towards him, he returned the gesture. "Now then I shall be bluntly honest with you about this." Bismarck continued "I'm not expecting you to light the world ablaze in a sense. Though I do expect the best that you can currently give for an honest assessment of things. I will also be recording this all for the Kommandantin, for her own review later."
"I understand completely Lord Bismarck," König replied respectfully. "I'm also very interested in just where I sit."
"Excellent, now then let's summon our riggings and make our way to the agility course to start."
König was in front as they made their way to the edge of the water, once they neared it. He focused on summoning up his rigging. He felt a surge of energy naturally come to and course through him as his rigging materialized. Behind him, both sisters watched carefully. Remembering that the siren part of him is supposed to be evident in his rigging. Once it fully materialized the sister's mouths fell open at the sight before them.
König's rigging was akin to their own, with four ship-shaped sections with jaws that were common in Ironblood designs. Each section also held a large main gun attached to them. That's where the similarities ended, however. The ship sections had a more modern-day/advanced touch to them. The entire rigging was colored in a sleek jet black with red circuit-like lines that gently pulsed with energy. The jaws teeth on the rigging had a more pointed and predatory appearance. The insides of each jaw glowed and pulsed with red energy. The sections were armed with triple-barreled sixteen-inch guns. Each section also held smaller secondary guns, torpedoes and, AA guns.
"The siren side of him really is obvious in his rigging," Tirpitz muttered as she and her sister snapped back into focus and followed the hybrid.
As König made his way across the water, he was surprised with himself by how easily the act came to him. He could only theorize that something about his turning imparted him with the instinctual knowledge on how to properly operate his rigging. Akin to how fish automatically know how to properly swim about from the moment they're born.
"Alright König, the course we have here is rather unique and ingenious one could say even." Bismarck began to explain. "The agility course is designed in a way that it's either easier or harder depending on what section you enter it from. Since your rigging is new to you, I want you to make practice runs in the easiest section. To get warmed up and attain a feel for things before we begin the real testing."
The hybrid gave a nod of his head in understanding and made his way to the entrance to begin. He took a bit of a steady pace and after a couple of passes began to amp up his speed on things. Soon enough the real testing began and he made multiple passes through the various sections. Some of the courses were clearly meant for ships of smaller size and agility. Battleships weren't exactly known for being the most graceful vessels on the seas after all. He smacked into a couple buoys here and there, took a few turns a little slower than perhaps he should have. Overall though he felt he handled things pretty well.
As König went through the various courses, the sisters were keenly watching his progress. "What do you think so far Tirpitz?" The leader of Ironblood asked.
Tirpitz thought for a moment before giving her an answer. "Not so bad, better than I expected. Still a little rough around the edges but nothing egregious in my opinion."
"My thoughts as well," Bismarck replied, "go set up the targets for the shooting test while he does the final few runs." The lonely queen of the north nodded her head and went to do her task. As Bismarck continued to watch she had an odd feeling nag in her mind. She couldn't really place it but something about König's presence that felt oddly familiar. She pushed these thoughts from her mind believing them to be nothing. Some minutes later she called the hybrid over to discuss the next task. "Good work on the agility course König. A little rough here and there but overall I'm pleased by what I saw. Next, we have the shooting range to test your accuracy. Targets have been placed at short, medium, long and, very long ranges. Keep your power down for this as it's more about your ability to hit than actual damage potential."
"Yes, Lord Bismarck," König spoke before taking his spot in front of the range. Tirpitz had already returned to her sister's side by then. He surveyed the targets laid out and began to plan his shots. He started with the close distance ones first and discovered something interesting. When he focused his eyes on the target, his vision became sharper and clearer. Almost as if his eyes held some sort of magnification quality.
He pointed one of his main guns at the first target and fired, keeping his power low as instructed. A thunderous echoed boom echoed as a shell sailed its way and made contact with the target. He repeated this process with all the other targets one by one.
"He's a natural at shooting by looks of it," Bismarck remarked with a pleased tone.
"A good thing, a battleship that can't hit is useless after all." Tirpitz retorted "Looks like is on the final target, it will be something if he can hit it. I placed it at a distance of 26 kilometers." (16 miles)
Bismarck raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "That's longer than Warspite's record hit."
"I don't expect him to actually hit it, merely to see how close he can come to it when shooting from extreme distances."
König looked out towards the final target or at least as best as he could. Even with his eyes as they were, spotting the final target was a bit of a challenge. Still, he zeroed in as much as he could and adjusted his guns accordingly. With a roar, his first salvo fired and sailed through the air. He saw his blast land short and to the right, he made an adjustment and fired again. The second salvo had the proper range but was too far to the right still. He adjusted his guns once more and took few deep breaths to steady himself. For a third time, his guns rang out and blasted their salvo. He watched patiently for when they made contact, hopefully where he wanted them. He suddenly saw the target break apart signaling a hit.
"Hell yeah!" König exclaimed in joy.
"He actually hit I almost don't believe it," Tirpitz muttered more to herself in surprise. She really believed he wouldn't be able to hit it.
"Warspite is going to demand a shooting competition once she hears this," Bismarck spoke with a little mirth before calling out to her fellow battleship. "König! Now that all the targets are dealt with, fire a salvo downrange at max power"
Not needing to be told twice, König adjusted his guns and began to charge his shot. He felt energy swell throughout his body and build up into his guns. His main canons glowed brightly with a crimson aura and black electrical jolts crackled around them. With a roar akin to some sort of hellish beast, his guns fired. Unleashing beams of crimson red tinged with a black, rocket down the open ocean. They contacted the ocean surface and exploded in a massive display of red and black. Stretching high into the sky and widely across the ocean surface.
"Heilige Scheiße!" All three Ironblood's unknowingly mouthed together. It was a fortunate thing that nothing was down there. Cause if something was it sure as hell didn't exist anymore.
König was breathing a bit heavily, whether the attack was simply that taxing or he needed to grow more accustomed to it. He didn't really know but wasn't that concerned at the moment. He was too caught up in the surprise of just how destructive he was capable of being.
As for the sisters, Tirpitz had currently fallen speechless from the display before her. Bismarck meanwhile was just as shocked as her sister however she also felt something else. Fear, in the back of her mind she felt a small ping of fear. Only a few things came to mind that compared to the destructive display she just witnessed. One was the high-ranking sirens like Purifier and Observer. The only other was herself during those darker days. When she was foolishly under the influence of the Scherzo. Bismarck snapped herself out of her thoughts and focused. She called König over to go over things.
"Overall I must say I'm pleased König, while there is some work to be had in some areas. You more than excelled in some others; you're dismissed for the rest of the day. Report back here tomorrow at the same time for training." Bismarck explained in her commanding manner.
"I will be here and ready Lord Bismarck." The hybrid replied before snapping a salute. "Hail Ironblood."
"Hail Ironblood," Bismarck spoke in return as she gave her own salute. As König then took his leave.
"I have to say Schwester, I think we've been rather blessed with this new arrival," Tirpitz spoke up as she watched the Ironblood's newest member make his way to the dorms.
"So it would seem." Was the simple reply before Bismarck began her way back towards the dorms as well.
Later that day Maruyama was reviewing the video of König's evaluation.
"Holy Shit!" She exclaimed when seeing the part that showed the hybrid's full destructive might. The Commander shook her head a bit by what she had just watched. She honestly didn't know what to expect exactly when she decided to bring him to Azur Lane. She had to fight with high command to some degree to make it happen. Granted, she honestly still didn't know what to expect but, she did know one thing now.
König's presence was going to change a lot of things she felt in the long run. In the war, at Azur Lane and probably more. She had a feeling in her gut it was going to wind up being one hell of a ride.
