Chapter Four: Exploring The Port
It wasn't until late by the time they arrived back at the port. Bismarck and Tirpitz both were already waiting for the group. Hood gave a word of thanks and good-bye before heading off back to Royal Navy dorms. The hybrid couldn't but help notice an odd bit of tension between Hood and Bismarck. Those thoughts were pushed away once U-556 ran right to Bismarck and immediately gave her side of things. König as team leader gave his recount of events and prepared himself for a long night. To his surprise and relief, he and his team were ordered to go rest for the night. Bismarck and Tirpitz would handle the report for the commander, then discuss the matter further with him in the morning.
König and the others weren't going to argue that. Their patrol had become far more intense than anticipated. König in particular was feeling the strain a bit from his first mission going so wild. Before long they had all returned to the dorms and bid goodbye for the night to each other. The hybrid didn't waste time taking a quick rinse and then unceremoniously throwing himself into bed.
He wasn't sure how long he had slept but it couldn't help but feel like it wasn't enough. As he found himself being woken up by knocks at his door. Groaning like some sort of zombie, he shambled his way to the door. He swung his door open to be greeted by a smiling and far too awake for the morning U-556.
"Guten Morgen, König!" The sub greeted her usual childly cheeriness.
"Guten Morgen, Parzival, what brings you to me this early in the morning?" König replied in a far more subdued manner.
"Lord Bismarck requires us this morning, remember?"
"Ah yes, I remember that," He hadn't "I'll be there in twenty."
U-556 gave a nod of her head and took off. König merely shook his head a bit and mumbled something about subs with endless energy. Twenty minutes later, fully dressed and ready for the day. The hybrid found himself in front of Bismarck's office door and gave a polite knock. After getting the approval to enter he made his way inside. This was actually the first time he had been inside the battleship's office.
Stopping in front of Bismarck's desk and snapping a salute to her, which was returned. König took a spot in one of the elegant chairs, the other being occupied by U-556. He took a quick look around the office and noticed it had various amounts of Ironblood related art, awards, etc. Behind the desk on full display hanging on the wall, was the flag of the Ironblood. He couldn't help but notice that someone seemed missing.
"Morning Lord Bismarck, may I ask where Tirpitz is? I thought she was to be here this morning as well?" König questioned
"Good morning König, to answer your question she was to be. Though we agreed that it would be best for one of us to take a report about yesterday's incident to the Kommandantin first thing this morning." Bismarck explained before continuing "I don't intend to make this meeting long, mainly to just say. What was left to be said once you were more properly rested after the events of your team's patrol. First and foremost, I wish to extend my personal gratitude to you for saving Parzival here."
The hybrid was a little taken aback by the statement not having really expected it. "Your thanks are appreciated but I don't think I did anything all that special. I just did what anyone should have done in that situation." König managed to reply.
A small smile tugged at Bismarck's lips at the response. "Humble, such a trait will serve you well, I think. That aside, Parzival has made it rather clear that without your timely arrival. She and the Royal Navy girls would have most likely been overwhelmed and destroyed." The flagship of the Ironblood had a slight somber expression as she spoke after a moment's pause. "Parzival is a dear friend, and someone I care for a great deal like I do Tirpitz. I would've been beside myself if something ill had befallen her."
"As would I if anything were to befall you, Lord Bismarck." The sub quickly spoke up.
The battleship gave an appreciative nod before facing König. "Considering that you went so above beyond. Not to mention the rescue of fellow comrades and allies. I believe you've earned the right to some proper recognition for it. Thus, I have something to present you." Bismarck opened a draw of her desk and pulled out a small and flat black box. She stood up with the box and made her around to the front of her desk. Realizing it was something very important, he stood up and at attention. Once Bismarck was in front of him, she pulled up the lid revealing an iron cross. It was attached to a cloth pin that was mainly black with grey edges. With a similarly colored ribbon resting in the box below it.
Bismarck took the medal from the box and handed said the box to U-556 before speaking up. "As the leader of the Ironblood, I Lord Bismarck hereby present. This iron cross 2nd class to the KMS battleship König. For his bravery and valor in leading his team. In the rescue and ensured the safety of his fellow Ironblood and allies alike. Wear it proudly, for you have certainly earned it." Bismarck then proceeded to pin the medal to his chest. König then snapped a salute that Bismarck returned.
"Thank you for this Lord Bismarck, I wasn't expecting anything like this at all, but I appreciate it all the same." The hybrid managed to pipe up, feeling rather surprised by it all still.
"Well there's still a bit more, U-556 has something of her own to thank you with," Bismarck replied with a gleam in her eyes as she went back behind her desk.
"You know what it is, don't you?" König inquired.
"Parzival came to me with the idea of how she wanted to thank you. I was surprised myself, but I fully support her decision."
König put his focus on the submarine who was now standing before him.
"I wanted to figure out some means to properly thank you. In the end, I came up with this." U-556 chirped as she pulled out a piece of paper and held it out in front of her. "I feel the only proper thanks I could give, is by making a similar vow to the one I made to Lord Bismarck. To you as well König." U-556 cleared her throat as she began to speak.
"I, U-556, hereby declare before Neptune, Lord over oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, brooks, ponds, and rivulets, that I will provide any desired assistance to my Little Brother, the battleship König, at any place on the water, underwater, on land, or in the air."
Once finished giving her vow, Parzival gave the sheet to König. The hybrid wasn't capable of speaking as floored as he was by the gesture. He took the paper and simply looked it over, as he processed this indeed was actually happening. Then without saying a word, he simply reached out and embraced the sub in a hug. Only then was he finally able to find his voice again.
"Thank you for this Parzival, truly I mean that. I will treasure this for the rest of my days." He spoke softly, still embracing U-556.
"I'm glad you like it, I shall be sure to do all in my power to uphold this vow." Parzival merely replied as she returned the hug with one of her own. After a few more moments the two separated. König looked over to Bismarck and saw she had a bright genuine smile gracing her face.
"I hope you cherish what you've received today König, you've earned it." Stated the battleship "You're dismissed for the day, any questions by chance before taking your leave?"
"Just one actually now that you mention it." The hybrid looked back towards U-556. "How exactly am I the little brother? No offense Parzival but even when standing completely straight. You're barely tall enough for the top of your head to reach my waistline."
"Isn't it obvious? It's because you're the newest ship in our fleet. Remember, taking our past existences into account. Everyone else here at the port was created long before you." The child-like sub explained.
König went to object but shut himself up as the realization hit him. "Ah hell, you are right." Parzival and Bismarck both couldn't contain the chuckle that left their lips. "Anyways, I guess I'll be taking my leave Lord Bismarck, thank you once more."
"As I've said before you've earned it. Enjoy the rest of your day König. Parzival, you are dismissed as well."
After the hybrid and sub gave a salute, both made their way out of the office.
"What're you going to do for the day?" U-556 asked as they walked together.
"Considering all that happened yesterday, my existence is pretty more or less confirmed for the rest of the port," König spoke after thinking a little. "Probably time for me to get a good look at the rest of base. Introduce myself to some of the other faction, maybe visit the shop even."
"If you visit the shop, be wary of Akashi."
"Who's that?"
"A green-haired Neko repair ship from the Sakura Empire, she runs the shop. She's also pretty greedy." Parzival explained
"She's the type that will try to make money on just about anything I take it?" König retorted
"Yep"
"You know, something about that reminds me of a Lewis Black joke. Though I'm not gonna recite it here." U-556 gave him a look of curiosity in response. "Let's just say it involves black Friday gun checks, money-making, and the state of Alabama. If you decide to look it up just make sure Lord Bismarck isn't around. She probably wouldn't like you watching such things. Mainly because of the coarse language, oh look, my room I'll see you later U-556." König gave a quick wave goodbye and went into his room, closing the door behind him. He placed his iron cross back in its case and placed it on his desk with the lid open. He thought about stashing Parzival's vow somewhere in his room but decided against it. He instead neatly folded it and placed it securely in one of his jacket's inner pockets. He figured it best to keep it on him, like a good luck charm of sorts.
He stepped out of his room a few minutes later and made his way out of the Ironblood dorms. Making his way down the road he figured he'd stop by the first place that caught his interest. He quickly found himself in the Sakura Empire section of the port, if all the classic Japan imagery was any indication. He stopped in front of a building with the sign Mikasa's Model Museum on it. Having caught his interest, he decided to walk in and check it out.
He entered inside and found himself inside a small entrance room. In front of him was a large doorway with a sign above that simply said enter. He walked through the doorway and was greeted with a large room. Lined with case after case of various ship models. All of it was arranged neatly, with models of destroyers all the way to aircraft carriers. As he walked around and inspected everything, he noticed every model had been made with expert craftsmanship. There looked to be a model for every ship in the Azur Lane. The only thing he found odd was a self-destruct button on one of the walls. Why the hell would a model museum need to be capable of blowing up?
"Oh, a visitor! I thought I heard someone walking around the museum." A voice called out, drawing the hybrid's attention. He saw the person in question was clearly another kansen. She had a black and gold western-style naval uniform, brown, amber-colored eyes. Not to mention a horn on either side of her head, that was to him, a cute touch.
"Guten Tag, my name is König. I'm the newest battleship of the Ironblood." The hybrid greeted. The woman in question seemed a bit surprised but quickly recovered from it.
"I'm Mikasa the former flagship of the Sakura Empire and I welcome you to my museum König." She politely replied in return before continuing. "I didn't think I would ever see another vessel from around my era. You being a man is surprising though fitting considering your name."
"Beg Pardon?"
"Aren't you SMS König, the dreadnought battleship of the Imperial German Navy?" Mikasa questioned in return. "Your name fits and so does the style of the Reichsadler you have. Though your clothes are far more modern looking than I would've expected."
Well, that suddenly jolted his head. "I see the mix-up now. I don't mean to disappoint but I'm not that König. Though I will admit I took my name after the original as well the choice to use this style of the Reichsadler. I'm a completely new age version of a battleship."
"Oh, I see.." her expression dropped before perking right back up. "Akagi made mention of such a thing yesterday. I honestly thought she was trying to pull everyone's leg a bit. You can never be certain when it comes to Akagi and what she says at times."
"Ah yes, I remember Akagi from yesterday," König spoke up with a slight edge to his voice when he thought of the red and black wearing fox woman.
"You two didn't have the best first meeting I take it?"
"Depends on one's point of view I suppose. Words were exchanged, threats were given, claws and blades were drawn. You know that sort of thing." König snarked
Mikasa raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "You stood up to Akagi? Few ships on base are capable of doing that. Even fewer of those that could handle her in a fight if it came to it. Looking at you, I can tell you possess the means to do just that. No doubt Akagi was the one who initiated things yesterday. I'll need to make mention of that to Amagi. She's the only one on base who can Keep Akagi completely in check when needed. Regardless, how do you like the museum?"
"It's very nice I have to admit," König chirped "I've never seen such an impressive collection. Did you build them all yourself by chance?"
Mikasa gave a nod of her head. "I did indeed, model building is my hobby of sorts. I don't see a lot of action due to how out of date my rigging is compared to the other girls. Since I'm so much older than they are, Avrora is the only one who's more or less the same age as me."
"I don't know who Avrora is, but you don't look any older than most of the other women on base, excluding subs and destroyers of course."
Mikasa laughed a little at that. "Looks are very deceiving with us kansen. Believe it or not, I've been around since 1902. That's right I'm around a hundred and twenty years old."
The hybrid was silent for a moment as processed that info. "Well damn, I hope I can look as nice as you when I'm even half that age." He spoke up.
The pre-dreadnought battleship went a little red in the cheeks at the statement.
König decided to shift the direction of the conversation despite how much he liked the reaction. "So, where do you get all these models anyways?"
"There's a company that makes a whole variety of models. I just have to place the order for what I want through Akashi." Mikasa replied getting over her slight embarrassment. "If you'd like I can see if I can find a model of your hull and add it to the museum?"
A brief chuckle escaped König's mouth at that. "As nice as the prospect is, you won't find a model for my hull. A probably won't for a long time, if ever suffice to say."
Mikasa was silent a briefly as she mulled that answer over. "If that's the case how about I order a model of the ship you took your name from? I can add it to the museum and place right by me and Avrora's models."
"Sounds like a good idea, let me know when it comes in and maybe we can build it together?" Suggested the hybrid after thinking about it.
"Really!?" The battleship piped in mild surprise. "It's a plan then, I'll put the order in as soon as possible."
"I look forward to it then Mikasa, till next time." König gave a brief wave goodbye and made his way out of the museum. As he made his way down the road, he noticed someone who seemed to be making their way right to him. As they approached, he recognized the person in question to be Belfast.
"Belfast, good to see you're doing well." He chimed as the maid approached.
Belfast stopped in front of him and gave a brief curtsy before speaking. "Thank you König, though I and the others only made it back safely. Due to you and your team's timely intervention."
"I just did what anyone in my position should have done Belfast."
"Regardless, her majesty has asked me to retrieve you. As she would like to thank you personally for your timely rescue efforts." Belfast respectfully replied.
"Oh…wow ok, that's something I wasn't expecting. I guess I'll just let you lead the way then." Konig retorted rather shocked by the invitation, though he wasn't going to turn down an invite from the Queen of England. "First, Bismarck and U-556, now this. I honestly don't think I did anything that special." The Hybrid thought to himself as he followed the maid. It wasn't too long before he found himself approaching the Royal Navy dorms. The outside looked like they ripped an elegant old-timey building from London and placed it there. Once he walked inside, he was immediately greeted by an exquisite and lavish interior.
"I feel like I was just magically transported to Buckingham palace." He mouthed in awe as he continued to follow Belfast.
"Her majesty expects the best, it's only proper for someone of her status and position." Came the maid's simple reply, König simply nodded in acceptance. Before long they stopped before a large set of double doors. Giving a slight knock on the door and upon receiving approval to enter. Belfast opened the doors and walked into the room with König in tow. "Your majesty I've returned with König as requested."
"Excellent Belfast, I know I can always rely on you for a job to be properly done." Spoke a voice that was higher pitched than the hybrid had expected to hear. Though once his eyes fell upon the source he then understood. Sitting in an elegant chair in front of a fancy table with tea and snacks on it, was Queen Elizabeth.
Dressed in a short skirt dress-like outfit, a crown on her head and scepter in her hand. Long blond hair, blue eyes and, the most surprising thing of all. She looked no bigger than a cruiser physically. While he was aware not all kansen sizes were set in stone by their class. It was generally the rule of thumb that the bigger the ship class, the bigger said kansen was. He had learned beforehand earlier in his time, that the queen and her bodyguard were both battleships like him. Speaking of said bodyguard.
Standing right next to the Queen was who he assumed had to be the famed Warspite. He was surprised she too was just as small as the Queen. She wore a knightly-like outfit, befitting her status. She also had long blond hair along with violet eyes. Warspite was known for being one of the best battleships around from what he had heard from others in the Ironblood. Even Bismarck and Friedrich der Grosse would be hard-pressed to match her. That and her unofficial nickname of "The Queens Royal Corgi". He could see how she got the name though only a fool would call her that within earshot. Unless, of course, they wanted to know what getting sledgehammered by battle canons felt like.
As he looked at Warspite further he suddenly found himself quickly averting his gaze and being rather glad he had his mask once more. His blushing face would be incredibly visible for all to notice. This was because below the waist, Warspite only wore white armored boots, white thigh-high stockings, and black, tied at the side's spaghetti string panties. That were just big enough to properly keep her more private areas covered.
During his time at Azur Lane, he quickly learned that many of the girls tended to be rather liberal in their fashion sense. He understood that they had only dealt with other women until he came along. So, dressing in such ways wasn't any real issue. With him just so happening to be literally the only man on the port. König learned early on it was something he was just going to have to deal with. Though admittedly, technically being a hormonal teen with a healthy interest in women. Certainly, didn't make things easy at times. Let it be known he always made an effort to keep himself from staring. He would admit he wasn't always successful, considering just how provocative some of the girls like to dress.
He was broken out of his musings when Belfast pulled a chair for him as his signal to sit. Once situated the maid went about prepping fresh cups of tea for himself and the Queen.
"Thank you, Belfast you may leave us for the time being," Elizabeth stated and Belfast gave a bow and made her way out closing the doors behind her.
"Now then," Elizabeth began "firstly, shall I call you by your ship name or your given name of 'Albrecht Richter' if you'd prefer?"
"Just call me König your majesty, I put my old name behind me for the most part." He respectfully answered.
"Fair enough, though do you intend to keep that garish mask on? You can't exactly enjoy tea and cakes properly while wearing it."
König shrugged his shoulders before pulling his hood down and going to un-clasp his mask. He didn't see a reason to keep it on in front of the Queen. He took it off and placed it on the table.
"Oh goodness, why you keep such a handsome face hidden is a mystery." The Queen spoke up as she got a good look at the hybrid's face. "A bit softer in the face than most men but in a complementary way I'd say."
"My dad always said I took more after my mother in the face," König replied trying to keep another blush from appearing on his face.
"Ah yes Dietrich," Elizabeth spoke as if recalling a fond memory. "He was a wonderful man and the reason; humanity wasn't erased once the sirens appeared. Not to mention his invaluable help for Azur Lane when warring between factions happened. I must admit I was very surprised when I learned he had a son. Until your arrival, I thought he was all by himself."
"My father went to extensive lengths to keep my existence a secret," König replied. "All things considered he had very good reason too. With the sirens and hate that came with fleeing the fatherland."
"Speaking of which," Warspite said voicing herself for the first time. "Why did you choose to join the Ironblood? Your family isn't exactly well regarded there and aren't you actually a yank anyways?"
König took a drink of his tea before giving his answers. "To answer the latter of your questioning. I have dual citizenship and while yes, I was born in the states. I spent most of my life in Germany, hence I identify more like a German than an American. To answer the former I wish to pull my homeland out of the shadows of their past mistakes. There will always be a stigma of sorts against those of the Ironblood who were a part of those darker days. That will always hang over their heads in eyes of the world. I have no such thing against me so maybe, just maybe I can be the one to make the perception of things change. I consider Germany my home and I want it to be better, I know it can be better. And I'm willing to do what I must to make it so. Even if it means I must expose who I truly am at some point to the rest of the Ironblood and face whatever consequences could come from that. I believe it can stand amongst the world both economically and militarily. Without the negativity of being viewed as a place that desired power-hungry conquest. Rather it can be a place that the rest of Europe can look to when help is needed. That is what I would like to see, though it's wishful thinking at best probably."
"Considering all that's happened since the sirens have appeared. I'm not sure anything is truly impossible anymore." Elizabeth replied before taking another sip of tea. "For what it's worth I think your idea is rather noble, if risky. Especially considering the chancellor in power at the moment."
"Yes, I'm aware, my father never had anything nice to say about the man."
"Few do in all honesty, though I believe we've gotten a bit off-topic. After all, I invited you here to offer my thanks." Spoke up the Queen "Leading the rescue that you did, means much to us here. Especially in saving Lady Hood, she's the pride of our navy after all. Losing her would have been a great blow against us."
"So I've been hearing pretty much all day." He retorted before drinking his tea once more.
"How modest of you, none the less we of the Royal Navy are in your debt. Should you require assistance from us for whatever reason, do not hesitate to ask." Elizabeth proclaimed. "Lady Hood was rather insistent on being the one to help as well should the occasion arise."
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind, your majesty."
The Queen gave a small smile in return before seemingly inspecting the hybrid in front of her. "I just realized something about you König." The small battleship piped up. "Unlike the rest of the Ironblood, you haven't modeled your uniform after the darker age of your country's history or the republic before that. Rather you've modeled the coloring and general feel of your uniform. More after the time of the Kaiser, if that style of the symbol on your hood I saw is anything to go by?"
"You would be correct about that." Was the hybrid's quick reply. "I had no desire to model myself after the two aforementioned regimes. So, I decided to take cues from the old empire. Granted, I've always had a bit of a fascination for that time. Reading about its history and the time that led to its creation. Even collecting a few items from the period. As well as having items from that era that have been in the family for generations now."
"When your father and I had chats, once or twice he mentioned something about his family having ties to the upper parts of the old empire," Elizabeth replied in turn.
"Really?" König said in surprise and an eyebrow raised in curiosity. "My father never mentioned such a thing to me before. That raises more than a few questions in my mind. I guess I need to go digging into the family archives."
"It certainly wouldn't hurt to look I suppose?" Elizabeth retorted as she then took a moment to glance at a clock. "Forgive me, but it would seem our time is up. I keep a rather busy schedule as you can imagine. It was a pleasure meeting you König and I look forward to working with you in the future."
"Likewise your majesty and thank you for having me over." The hybrid replied as he put his mask back on and put his hood back up. A moment later, Belfast was called back in and escorted him out of the room. Once the doors were shut, Warspite turned to her Queen.
"You didn't tell him?" Warspite questioned.
"It's not my place to say Warspite." Elizabeth simply replied.
After being escorted out of the dorms and exchanging a brief goodbye with Belfast. König made his way down the road with no real destination in my mind. He was rather lost in his thoughts about the last bit of his discussion with the Queen. "I wonder just what exactly you were hiding from me, dad?" He wasn't a fool; he knew his father had plenty of secrets he kept hidden. Someone who was in his position and dealt with what he did. It was only natural that he would, so that didn't bother him when it came to his work. What did bother him was the fact he kept secrets about the family from him. What reason exactly would he have to do that after all? Not to mention why the hell would he mention it to Queen Elizabeth and not him?
So in engrossed with his thoughts he wasn't paying much attention to his walking. He took a step a bit awkwardly and caused himself to stumble a bit. He grumbled a little at himself for his lack of awareness. Before he could keep going he suddenly heard a laugh off to his side. He scowled and turned his head to the source of the noise and found himself rather surprised.
It was a woman sitting on a bench, simply enjoying the pleasant weather. She wore an almost all-white uniform that accentuated her curvaceous figure. He immediately pegged her for a member of the Northern Parliament, but that made things even stranger. She looked almost exactly like Eugen, she had the same colored hair and red stripe in it even.
"You must be the male kansen everyone has been discussing since late yesterday. You should be more mindful about where you're walking." Chimed the woman with a noticeable German accent.
The hybrid made his way over to the woman and stopped in front of her. "I'm afraid I don't know who you are, how about some introductions? I'm König the newest battleship of Ironblood."
The woman looked at him for a moment before shrugging her shoulders. "Tallinn, heavy cruiser of the Northern Parliament."
"I'm the gossip around the port, am I? I guess it's not surprising, I figured once I became widely known it would cause such a reaction." He quipped
"Because something like a male kansen is such a normal thing." Tallinn sarcastically spoke. "Not to mention how the story of your rescue of Royal navy girls has become popular quickly."
"People are really overplaying that one. Mind if I take a seat?" König asked, after a nod from Tallinn he sat down next to her. "So, I have to wonder, how did a hipper class ship wind up in the Northern Parliament?"
Tallinn looked at him with mild surprise. "You could tell?"
"Change the uniform and hairstyle a little and you could pass for Eugen's twin. Not to mention the noticeable accent."
"I can't argue that one."
"History between the Ironblood and the north isn't the greatest. How'd you wind joining up with them?" The battleship questioned.
Tallinn looked at him for a moment, then turned away and stared out into the distance. An empty look suddenly overtaking her eyes. "I didn't join, I was sold."
"Sold?" Mouthed the hybrid "Lord Bismarck would never sell her own to another faction. Let alone the Northern Parliament."
The heavy cruiser gave a dry hollow chuckle at that. "Lord Bismarck wasn't given any real say in the manner. She certainly argued against the whole notion but ultimately the chancellor overrode her."
"Son of a bitch…"
"My words exactly" Tallinn huffed
König looked at Tallinn and noticed a look of longing and sadness in her eyes. "You miss the Ironblood don't you?"
Tallinn turned and glared at him. "Of course I miss my home dumbass, who wouldn't!? I was sold essentially as some slave to a place that could care less about me. To the leadership of the north back in Moscow. I've just a useful tool to be used how they see fit, nothing more! They don't care for me like they do the other girls, since I'm a foreigner. Doubly so, since I hail from the place, they hate more than anything! I miss the fatherland, I miss the Ironblood, and most importantly above everything else. I miss all my sisters and want nothing more but to be reunited with them permanently as a part of the Ironblood once more. Hipper, Eugen, Weser, and hopefully Blücher one day too! I just want to go back home!"
Tallinn had clearly been holding these feelings in for a very long time. She obviously couldn't speak up about this around the Northern girls. Her face was contorted in a mix of depression, sadness and she looked to be on the verge of tears. Quite frankly it was all the hybrid needed to see to make his choice on the matter. Was it going to be a bit rash? Yes. Was it going to cause quite the ruckus? Certainly. Was it also on some level downright crazy? Undoubtedly.
Seeing Tallinn essentially breakdown un-expectedly. Combined with the feeling of disgust he felt over the fact she was literally sold off. Was all the motivation he needed to come up with his own conclusion on the matter. As far as he was concerned, Tallinn was still an Ironblood. And in his mind at this point, the Ironblood was the only thing akin to a family he had these days. One thing his father taught him growing up was, family no matter how big or small, always watched out for each other. Even if that meant getting kind of risky with things.
"Then I'm going bring you back home Tallinn," König announced
"What!?" A suddenly stunned Tallinn spoke.
"I'm going to bring you home where you belong. You're obviously miserable with your current situation. Honestly, I don't blame you one bit either, I would be too if I was you. So, one or way or another I'm going to bring you back to the Ironblood."
"Don't say such stupid things, what you're saying is impossible." The heavy cruiser snapped back.
"Tallinn, my very existence is a slap in the face to what is and isn't impossible." The hybrid retorted
"Mein Gott, you're actually serious about this." Tallinn mouthed before her face took a more contemplative look. "You really think you can do it?"
König smiled from behind his mask. "It's all about knowing how to play the field Tallinn. As well as not being afraid to take a risk when needed."
"Call me Lützow," The heavy cruiser spoke up, getting a raised eyebrow from the hybrid. "That's my real name, Lützow. I figured you should know that." She clarified. "Why do this for me though? You just met me after all."
"To me, you never should've had to suffer what you have to begin with. I admit I have no actual siblings or whatnot like you do. Though I've come to view those of the Ironblood as people who are important to me in that kind of way. You are still an Ironblood as far as I can tell Lützow. That's all the reason I need."
Lützow went quiet and looked away briefly before looking back. "Then I wish you luck."
König looked at Lützow with a serious look in his eyes and spoke with a hardness in his voice. "I will accomplish this somehow in some way. I'm not one to go back on my word when I give it. Though I have a feeling this ultimately won't be resolved through polite conversation. But rather with Iron and Blood."
