Are you wrapped up in his arms?

My heart is panicking - are you kissing him?

Are you over me? Are you are you are

- Blind Pilot

Rick stood far in the outskirt of the beautifully decorated ballroom, a drink in his hand. He would tightened his jaw once in a while before taking a sip from the glass that he tightly held. His eyes trained and focused on the happy couple standing in the middle of the dancefloor.

He took another sip as if trying to drown the painful stab he felt in his heart. He tried to act as if he was happy, as if this was a joyous day, he really tried to pretend. But it was a great task to smile when the woman you loved married another man. He stared as Michonne and her now husband fed each other a piece of the wedding cake. He could hear everyone surrounding them clapping and expressing their elation at the sight of the new couple, but he could not join them. He really tried, but this was killing him.

His breath caught in his throat when Michonne's eyes found him through the crowd, for a moment they gazed at each other as if there was no one else around. Michonne's lips curled in a warm smile, Rick's own lips couldn't reach his eyes like hers. But he couldn't put his pain on her, wouldn't bear the idea of her not fully enjoying her wedding day because of his own mistakes.

So he raised his glass to her, his eyes soft, so many emotions reaching the surface. Only turning to leave when she turned back to the man by her side to kiss his lips.
