Loki's breath started to hitch and blackness started to fill the edges of his view. Dropping his hand on one of the piles of books, he accidentally dislodges one of the books and the entire pile collapsed. The loud noise caught Harry's attention.

Blinking slowly as if he couldn't believe his eyes, Harry looked up and down Loki's form.

"Loki? Is that you? What are you doing here?" Harry asked confused. "I thought that you were with your children, did something happen?"

Loki closed his eyes with a pained expression on his face. "Harry," he rasped, "what the hell did you do?"

Now

"Do you think this is funny? Is that why you are doing this?" Loki said, suddenly feeling a rage he didn't feel before. "Let me ask you one more time. What. The. Hell. Did. You. Do?" He growled.

Harry looked confused at him. "What are you talking about? I'm researching ways for you to be free again. I told you about that, right?" Harry cocked his head. "I don't believe that there is anything funny about that? Unless I have missed something important." He placed his hand on the table. "But I'm sure that is something happened that was really important, someone would have notified me."

"Notified you?" Loki roared. "Notified you? And who would you have expected to notify you? Your House Elves? The ones who take care of this manor and everyone and everything in it? That would be the logical conclusion, right? Yet, there's this one little problem. You," Loki took a step towards Harry, "you were the one to tell them to not disturb you. Of course, they tried to make sure you were fine. They even kept bringing you food in the library and look around you," Loki gestured around them wildly, "the food is still here, but have you eaten? No!

"Then if the House Elves couldn't have notified you, then who should have notified you? Me? I am the one who you're researching for. If something important going on, the possibility that it's me that can notify you slim. And," Loki held up a hand to stop Harry from speaking, "the House Elves would probably been busy taking care of me, and they were still not allowed to disturb you.

"Keeping all of this in mind, the only ones that can still notify you of anything are my children! And do you think that they would even think about coming to see you? You may have helped them, and they are really grateful for that, but you're still a stranger. They don't know you. They haven't even seen you or asked for you for months. Furthermore, they have been alone for centuries. They know how it is to be alone and not be able to ask others for help. When something happens, their first instinct is not to go to others to ask them for help, but to try to solve it themselves. And yet! You think it's a good idea to tell your House Elves to not disturb you for months? Look at you! You have withered away here. By all accounts, you should have been dead, but you're not because of your powers." Loki croaked out, his chest heaving. "You should be dead," He whispered.

"I can't do this," Loki choked out, tears blurring his vision. "I'll go make some tea. I will call some House Elves to assist you out of the library. They will tell you where to find me afterwards. Please," he tried to swallow past the lump in his throat, "try to eat something. You look…" Loki looked away, "Never mind. The House Elves will be here shortly. They can probably help you."

Loki turned around and abandoned Harry by the table. He left the library as fast as he had come.

"Loki…" Harry tried to cry out, but his voice failed him. He tried to reach out with his hand, but the weight of his hand was too much, and he let it drop. "What happened?"

A small pop could be heard. "Masters is finally coming out of the library?" A House Elf, no, it was Missy, Missy asked.

"Missy," Harry said, "how long have I been in here?"

Missy's ears drooped. "Master… You don't know? You have been here for nine months, two weeks and five days. Furthermore, you haven't eaten in two months, although we kept bringing food. You haven't properly rested in seven months. We…" her eyes shimmered, "we were not sure if you would make it, Master. That you are still alive is a miracle."

"That is not possibly," Harry denied. "I would have noticed if things were going this bad. Death would have notified me! You can't be speaking the truth!"

Missy snapped her fingers and a mirror appeared. "If you don't believe me, Master, see for yourself how you look right now."

Harry didn't' want to look, but he couldn't hold himself back from letting his eyes flash towards the mirror, and what he saw in the glimpse was so bad that he looked back. His face… Harry was never a fain person, but he recognized how bad he looked. The skin was pulled taut around his skull. If he had sharped cheekbones, like Loki, his skin would have been cut.

His hands were so thin and shaking, Harry couldn't believe that he hadn't noticed them before. Somewhere or sometime while researching, he should have noticed his hands, right? Harry tried to move his arms, but it seemed that even his strength had deteriorated. His robes were barely holding onto his arms as they were.

His robes! Goodness, his robes stunk! There were weird spots all over them, and they seemed to stick to his body. And was that… no, it couldn't be? There was no way that there was fungus on his body. Absolutely no way in hell, except there was. Suddenly the words. From Loki started to make sense. Harry was an idiot.

"Missy?" Harry whispered.

"Yes Master?

"Please take me away from here and help me clean up. Tell the other House Elves to clean up the library. Except the books and scrolls I haven't read yet. They can be useful later."

"As you wish Master. I will bring you straight to the Hospital Wing to get cleaned and taken care of. Please hold on just for a bit longer."

With another pop they were in the Hospital Wing with multiple House Elves bustling around them. Happy cries about Harry were heard around the room. The Master was out of his funk, they could start to take care of him once more.
