I know it took me longer than Inexpected to write another chapterm Bu I have my f. On Monday this week I had my last big test. I hope you're still interested in my story. So thanks in advantage

As soon as they entered the MI5 headquarters, Agent Muller turned to them. With a slight smile on his lips, he approached them.

"I'm glad you could come so quickly. I've been briefed pretty well by Alex and his people on the current situation. I still can't quite believe we finally caught one of the masterminds." He greeted Logan, Rory, Colin, and Finn.

"We're relieved that Tristan has been caught. Rory and I would also like to talk to him before he is transferred to New York to FBI headquarters, assuming it's possible now," Logan requested while he held his wife's hand tight.

"Of course, it's possible. Would you perhaps like help from one of my people? I think having an expert in the room might be a good idea. I don't want any more emotional pain inflicted on you and your wife," he explained, looking earnestly at Logan and Rory.

"Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing. What do you think, Logan? If I'm honest, I'm scared to face him, though I'd love to give him back all the pain he's caused us." Rory cleared her throat while she tried her best to control her nervousness.

"I agree with you, Ace, we have so many people in our inner circle, but in a situation like this, we need readied people around us to help us deal with the situation."

"That's a good call; Steve is one of our best criminal psychologists and agents at the FBI, especially on tough cases like yours," Delany said, relieved. He hadn't wanted to argue with a Huntzberger, but he also didn't want to subject Logan and Rory to more pain.

Moments later, a handsome brunette man with glasses in his 30s appeared up next to his boss. "I just couldn't help overhearing that they were talking about me, Max. You must be Mr. and Mrs. Huntzberger, right?" he cleared his throat and looked at them expectantly.

"That's right, my wife and I don't want to lose another minute and finally be with..." Logan paused for a moment not to lose his composure or nerves.

"To talk to this despicable individual of a human being? I understand you even if I'm not in your shoes. Come on, together, we can do this. If it gets too much for you, you or your wife can leave the interrogation room at any time. Do you want to take one of your friends with you for support?" Steve finished Logan's sentence and looked at him patiently.

Steve secretly admired Logan for being so calm. But one thing he was sure of was that Logan and Rory were struggling with themselves. He could well imagine that all the defense mechanisms he had learned during his studies were internalized in the couple, from splitting to regression.

From a psychological point of view, it was an absolute miracle for Steve that they made it through the last 13 and a half years and, above all, that they were still married. Divorce was a common result of such devastating events. It truly amazed Steve that Rory and Logan were still such a strong unit, not to mention having more children. Unfortunately, he had little time to read into the case, as he had recently been pulled off another case, as the Norah Huntzberger case had priority.

"I don't know if Colin and Finn-" Logan began.

"Hey mate, you don't need to protect Colin and me. We're going with you, aren't we, Col?" interrupted Finn, casting a questioning glance at Colin. "By all means, we won't let you and Rory down. At least for me, it's good preparation for what to expect at lunch with O'Donnel, that moron of a lawyer. I'm assuming we'll discuss further arrangements," Colin replied, trying to calm himself inwardly to remain strong for Rory and Logan.

"Thanks, guys, let's go before Ace and I run out of courage," Logan said, grabbing Rory's hand and taking a deep breath in and out.

The group walked as a unified unit into the room where Tristan was being held.

The door closed with a soft click behind them. No one took a seat. They all stood, in nearly a straight line, in front of a seated Tristan.

Tristan didn't look up right away. He seems fascinated and oddly intent on studying his fingernails.

Logan took one slow step forward. He stood in front of the table that Tristan was seated at. He stared down at the man picking at his cuticles. He sucked in a deep breath and let it out very slowly. When the breath was fully expelled, he slammed both fists down on the table.

The loud bang of his fists startled everyone. Tristan's head snapped up as Logan leaned over the table towards him. With his face mere inches from Tristan's, he growled, "Why???"

Logan stared angrily at Tristan and had to keep himself under control so that his hand didn't slip and land on his ugly face.

Tristan seemed unfazed. He glanced down at the fingernail he had been picking earlier. Glancing up, he smugly said, "Well, look at that. Today I got a lot of visitors. What gives me the honor to have the great Logan Huntzberger, son of Mitchum Huntzberger and Shira Huntzberger, here with me. Tell me, Logan, what can I do for you and lovely wifey?"

He would not let the FBI agents, Logan or Rory get anything out of him. After all, his freedom was at stake, and he loved his life far too much to spend it behind bars, especially not on Rikers Island. He could only hope that Jason would remain as inconspicuous as possible in case of further questioning by the FBI.

"Why would I have done what, Logan? I can't quite follow you and the facts of the case? " Tristan began with his mind-games.

A few minutes passed, and nobody said a word, which caused Tristan to laugh. "Logan, I asked you a question. Oh, really, those Yalies. 5 years of studying at an Ivy League college and can't even get a word out. I'm really disappointed in you, Logan..." he continued to causticize to draw Logan out of his reserve.

Determined to keep his temper in check, Logan said, "You know exactly what this is about. Don't play dumb here, Tristan. You will regret everything, believe me, as soon as you see Rikers Island before your eyes. Do you know what the officers do to people like you? Or the prison inmates when they find out that you took a child from a family, it's not a nice thing. But that doesn't have to be my concern." Logan tried to speak in a calm, relaxed voice, although it was hard for him not to lose his nerves.

Rory was still standing like a statue next to Finn and Colin, wondering what was happening. The whole situation seemed so unreal to her, and she saw Logan struggling with himself and could picture what was going through his mind. She had similar thoughts herself as she looked at the man that nearly destroyed her and her family.

"Oooh, now you're bringing out the big guns. Do you think your not-so-veiled-threats are going to force me into some sort of confession? I don't know what you think I have done. I would never hurt a fly, especially not a small defenseless child like it says in the indictment. How could I do that? I have three wonderful children of my own, and as far as I know, so do you. How are Grace, Jacob, and Nathalie?" he asked with a sly smile.

"Shut the fuck up. You almost destroyed my family and marriage. And we have a lot of evidence with your and Pierre Lamintage's names on it. So don't tell me you don't know what this is about..." Logan said as his control waivered. He walked back to him, and pounded the table with his fists.

"Seriously, Logan, that's no way to behave. Didn't your parents teach you anything?" Tristan shook his head.

Logan took a deep breath, grabbed him by the collar, and was about to punch him.

"Logan, babe. Please, he's not worth it..." Rory now tried to intervene, taking a few steps closer to Logan, putting her arms around his hips, and looking at him pleadingly. "He isn't worth this. He isn't worth our time. I don't know why we even thought we could talk to him."

Tristan snickered. "Oh well, look at that. Mary can talk after all. I haven't seen you in a long time. You're almost as pretty to look at as when I first saw you in class at Chilton. So unspent and young..."

Logan turned and his eyes burned holes into Tristan's forehead. "Leave Rory out of this. You have no right to even look at her, you lousy rat."

"Tristan, you're not worthy of a word from me. I hate you. You've hurt me, Logan, and my family so much. You'll see what will happen." she said, trying not to sound too shaky.

However, tears were already burning in her eyes. She had sworn not to burst into tears in front of Tristan. Not in front of these people.

"Oh, Mary, don't cry. Do you want me to kiss your tears away like when we kissed at one of the first school parties? Do you remember when you were Juliet?" he pressed on, and Logan came menacingly close to him again.

"Stop it immediately! So tell me did you feel anything when you kidnapped mine and Rory's daughter? Did it feel good? For gods sake Tristan she was 6 months old. A little infant, and I know you were the one who took her, you don't have to den it. And don't worry we'll have a lot of people in our corner who will confirm that the evidentiary evidence is genuine! Odette will certainly find more evidence. Oh yes, Odette Grimaldi your ex-girlfriend. She will surely testify or at least help us nail you to the wall so you are finally behind bars. Where you belong ya little piece of shit..." Logan growled.

Logan grabbed Rorys hand and said, "You know, I waited years for this moment and fantasized about all the ways I would murder you. But now I realize you aren't worth it. I'll never forgive you. But I don't need to physically hurt you. I don't even need to think about you anymore. I have enough money that I have the best lawyers. They will make sure you think of me every day for the rest of your pathetic life." Then he and Rory walk out.
