One Chapter Only
Kate was technically in Suite Four located on the third floor. She had never seen it but there was talk that the Master bedroom was three times the size of her suite. Hell, the Master closet was reportedly bigger than her room. The bathroom was the size of her room. And it had its own terrace.
Granted, she didn't really care all that much. Mostly because of the lowlife that lived in it, the so-called Master of this house. Master bedroom, six suites like hers, and three guest rooms. Not that they were really used for guests since they didn't get guests.
The house had nearly everything anyone might want. A large kitchen, not that anyone in this house ate real food, an open lounge room, billiards room, gym, and yoga room, a wine room, craft room, indoor sports complex that was a half court basketball. Though you could set up a volleyball net. A twelve seat theater room, great room, grand salon, grand room, a two-story library, breakfast nook, and mud room. The pièce de résistance was the incredibly huge veranda. It alone was almost as big as the ground floor and all of it was covered.
Add to that each and every window had a combination blackout drapes AND roll down shutters, all in an attempt to keep the sunlight out. Even when the sun was out this place could be as black as night. And it usually was.
And then there was the basement. Down there was the gun range, fight mats, training spaces, the security room that monitored all of the cameras that were inside and outside. Literally no room in this house couldn't be monitored. Also down here was all the weapon storage and an enormous ammunition bunker that had enough ammo in it to blow the entire house to the moon if not beyond. The crater that left behind would be immense.
They had solar power, wind power, and not one but two emergency generators. One generator was meant for the house. The other was meant to keep all the refrigerators running. Couldn't lose those! Naturally, they had well water and, of course, city power, city water, and they were connected to the city sanitary system. Though if need be they had a septic system.
Then there were the guards that patrolled the place twenty-four hours a day in teams. PLUS the dogs that were trained to rip a person's arm off if ordered to or if the person gave them cause.
It was a God Damn Fortress is what it was. It was also a God Damn Prison since GOD had nothing to do with this place.
Kate had been converted when she was young. She grew up in this house and lived here throughout her teenage years. Now she was twenty-five and she was learning far too much about this place and the people in it.
SHE WANTED OUT!
She had spent the last six months planning it. She even had contingency plans if something went wrong along the way. She had her Go bag all packed. She had a second one stashed away outside of the house just in case. Each bag held only what she needed most.
Those bags had just been deposited after being made up. There was one item inside it that was perishable. It needed to stay cool but couldn't stay cool indefinitely. In addition, each had a bag that using various chemicals, would warm it so it was palatable for her. The military MREs had given her the idea for it. She had even tested it once just to make sure.
Kate was inspecting her weapons of choice around here, so that was nothing new. A pair of Beretta 92FS pistols with barrel weights. Each held twenty-five rounds and had been modified to fire on full auto. 9X19mm Parabellum. Her Go bags each held two Walther P99 semi-automatic pistols but no spare clips for those weapons. She carried the spare clips for the Berettas with her at all times of late.
That was when in walked Ann Hastings. Of all the people in this house she was the only one Kate really cared anything about. She would dearly love for Ann to come with her but she was pretty sure if she even talked about leaving, Ann would rat her out. She clearly liked it here even if Kate didn't.
"You're not dressed for the party." Ann noticed that straight away. Kate really was her best friend in this house. She just didn't understand her sometimes. Kate was dressed like always. Much like everyone else in this house she wore a lot of black.
But there were differences with Kate. She had a cloak that she liked that had a hood that was lined on the inside with a soft red cloth. Unlike herself Kate wore blood red lipstick that never seemed to wear off. Plus, she loved red eye shadow and she had long lashes, thick black eyebrows, and long black hair. Even to Ann's eyes Kate was a real beauty. She could select any man in this house. Even steal one away if she tried hard enough.
Ann hurried over and started to look through her closet and soon found the perfect gown. The fact that Kate even had it was a bit of a surprise. Though she was willing to bet she knew who gave it to her. The thing was nearly see-through. Kate did without a bra and she would definitely get noticed wearing this gown.
"This one! This one is perfect for you. Josh will love you in this one." Ann was almost jealous. Almost!
"You like it, you wear it. It's yours. My gift to you," Kate told her as she slapped her clip into her weapon and began looking over the other one. Her time was almost here. Just as soon as the guests from out of state started arriving, she was out of here.
Their arrival would cause the guards to be distracted. What was one more car? Even if it was one of their own.
Ann thought she knew her friend well enough. "You don't plan to attend, do you?"
"Attend a boring ball filled with old men and old women from out of state? Who have lived so long that they've long since forgotten HOW to live? They're only coming to make sure Josh is still in charge. Wear the dress, Ann, go have fun. Maybe one of them will bring a niece or nephew for you."
"That would be fun." Ann was suddenly dreaming of just what she could do with new fresh blood in the house. "Josh will be angry. He has a thing for you." Ann knew that to be true. The entire house knew Josh was trying to groom Kate to be his. His what might be a question, but his none the less.
"Josh has a thing for power. Nothing else. Some other girl can be his sex slave." Kate raised her head in defiance. "She's more than welcome to him."
Ann was worried for her friend...maybe even frightened. "That isn't going to make Josh happy." Kate was just looking for trouble if she didn't bow down to him.
"Like. I. Care." That said, Kate pulled back the slide to inspect the barrel before slapping in the full clip.
"Kate, you wouldn't!? You'll be ostracized by everyone. They'll order that you be hunted down. Shot and killed, if necessary. Brought back to bake, preferably." Ann didn't want that for Kate.
"Relax, I'm not going to shoot him. Though I do dream about that far too often. About how many rounds would it take to kill him. Two in his heart, if he had one, might suffice perhaps."
"Don't think thoughts like that, Kate. Please! Maybe you can change him? Mold him," Ann offered hopefully.
"While I'm tied to the bed and raped when it pleases him? No thanks. Go to the party, Ann, and enjoy yourself. Don't go getting yourself into trouble on my account. I can handle myself. I am a Death Walker, am I not?" Kate got up and put both of her weapons in her holsters.
Yes, she was, one of the best she had ever even heard about. She had a skill so few of them had. "All right, but just make sure you at least put in an appearance. Then go downstairs and shoot something," Ann proposed. "That will make you feel better."
"It probably would," Kate agreed and actually smiled. "Take the dress, Ann. It'll look better on you than it will me. Put on those impossibly tall heels that I know you own. I like heels but those things look like torture to me." Kate teased her to show that she wasn't planning to do something stupid. Even if she was. Stupid to everyone but her, that is.
"Practice, Kate, practice." Ann smiled at her but hung the dress back in her closet and left. She already had her dress on and was ready for tonight.
Kate needed for that first car to show up.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
Kate could see the first car out her window so she picked up her Go bag and walked out of her room, down the short hallway, and into the upstairs den that was just a small sitting room. Then through the double doors that she closed behind her and out onto the small terrace. She was on the third floor but was unconcerned. She simply needed to watch for a guard since she couldn't count on any car arriving at the perfect time so she waited and pulled her hood over her head.
Kate jumped over the railing, bent one knee a little, and landed on both feet. She quietly made her way around the three garage doors. The bad design had no outside door leading to the garage. So she had no choice but to enter the mud room, go around the corner, and into the garage. Amazingly enough, that was where all the keys were kept. "Security measure, ha!" Kate laughed to herself and grabbed the pair of keys she wanted. Then she threw her bag into the passenger seat and got behind the wheel. All she needed was the fob. There was no real key. She only had to press START and the car roared to life.
The Aston Martin DB9 was purring contentedly so she pushed the button that opened the garage door, backed out, and turned to face the driveway. Leaving the lights off she coasted down the road waiting for the next guest to arrive. Once the gates started to open she put her foot to the floor and shifted into second gear followed by third.
Just as the guest car cleared the gate and left room for her, she zoomed past it and through the gate. Turned on the lights, turned on the high beams, and increased speed.
Now she well aware the car had a GPS unit in a location that she stood no chance of removing, so she was driving the wrong way. Not the exact opposite, of course. That would be too obvious. Once Josh found out she was missing and a car had crashed the gate, even he would put two plus two together and lose his mind.
Possibly everyone in the Mansion might pay for what she'd done and that included Ann because she was her friend. However, the elders were arriving so he would be forced to play nice for them.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
She drove north on Interstate 87 till she reached the New York Stewart International Airport where she got onto Interstate 84 east. Over the river and east till she reached State Route 55 and turned north.
County Road 82. She turned off and pulled into a Shell gas station where she parked next to it in the grass and watched. She needed someone to finish filling their car with gas and ready to get back in and drive away.
Kate raced across with her Go bag and stopped the man from getting into his car. "Go to the restroom and stay there," she told him and watched him leave with a blank look on his face.
Kate got in and drove away but didn't go far. Someone would be out here eventually because her car had a GPS signal. They would get the video footage of her stealing a car, so she turned left and parked in the parking lot of a small strip mall.
Here she used her skill to steal a different car and headed back to US Route 55 and went north. If it was her she would look south and back to the Interstate to gain speed. What she wanted was invisibility.
About half an hour later she glanced down at the fuel gauge and cursed. It was just her luck. The car she stole was low on gas. So off into the trees it went. Now she was walking down the road waiting for a sucker to stop to pick her up. She'd have him get out and she would take over. He could go sit in the woods.
The drawback was that it was getting late in the day so there wasn't a lot of traffic.

Rick was a very pissed off person. Gina had called him into her office for no reason. Four and a half hours of driving for nothing. She wanted to add book signings to his contract. He had refused so she'd begun insisting on a book signing tour. Meaning multiple cities instead of just one. That was where he had walked out and ignored her yelling at him.
So here he was, driving toward home after making one little stop. A little hypnosis and she obeyed what he told her and would never remember a thing, so he was good for a while.
SON OF A… He damn near hit her! The road wasn't all that wide, it was dark, she – if it was a she – was wearing black, so he hit the brakes to make sure he hadn't hit her and watched her walk toward him. That was good. He hadn't killed someone. He had done enough of that in his early life.
Rick rolled down the passenger window and watched her peer in. "Sorry, I barely saw you. Anyone tell you that wearing black in the dark, on a dark road is not a good idea?"
Instead of answering him she tried to open the door and realized it was locked. It was automatic for most cars these days. Instead she reached in through the open window and opened the door from the inside. Followed by getting in.
"Can I help you?" She was a little brazen and forward. Just helping herself into his car.
"Drive," Kate told him.
Rick raised an eyebrow. She was wearing a cloak with a hood pulled up over her head and when she looked at him to tell him to drive her eyes literally glowed. They were actually amber in color. Sort of a copper mostly, without a hint of gold, green, or brown. Combine that with her red lips and a tattoo just off her left eye that he couldn't make out, and he was looking at a very pretty woman.
"I don't recall seeing a car sitting on the side of the road," Rick mentioned as possible reason she was on the side of the road.
Kate tried again. "Drive." She wasn't used to having this much trouble with a man before. This was unusual.
"Let's see what the GPS says that might help you." Rick began pressing buttons. "Here's one, Wits Auto Repair and Towing," he told her and put it into his GPS.
Kate didn't understand. Why was he doing that? Why wasn't he just doing what she told him to do?
"I don't need auto repair or a tow truck. What I need is for you to start driving." Kate tried again. "Take me to your place." Maybe she could hide there for now and decide how best to get where she had planned to go to. Take his car and start driving.
"My place?" Now Rick was even more confused. Yes, she was pretty but with all that black he didn't see much else. That cloak hid almost everything. "I'm not sure you're going to like where I live. But it's your funeral." Rick pressed HOME and his GPS started telling him to follow as shown.
Rick glanced over at her while he drove. "So, what's your name. Unless you prefer Hey You."
"Kate."
"Kate?" Like Kate what?
"Just Kate." She decided he didn't need to know her name.
"Well, Just Kate, I'm Richard Castle." Rick was interested to see if that name meant anything to her. Did she know his work?
"Where are we going?" Kate was curious to see just how far off her course she was going to end up being.
"Oseetah Lake which is still about three hours from here. If you need to stop somewhere let me know. So, Just Kate, why were you walking a dark road dressed in black?" What made her think that was a good idea?
Kate tried again and stared at him with those eyes of hers. "You don't need to know."
"Why would I not need to know? If you're running from the police you can get out right now," Rick informed her. "I don't need to be transporting a serial killer."
Kate still didn't understand why he wasn't doing as he was told. He really should be. It was time for Plan B. Kate quickly pulled out her Beretta and pointed it at his head. "Drive and less talking. Take me to your place."
"Ooo, a Beretta 92FS with barrel weight. Possibly full automatic. Is that a 25 or 30 round magazine? I'd ask to see it, but as you can see I'm driving and it's dark out. Do you have another one? Blast, I'm still driving, never mind," Rick told her.
"Who are you?" This man was turning into a real mystery.
"Richard Castle, and you might as well put that away. In case you haven't noticed you haven't put on your seat belt and my car is just old enough that it doesn't have a passenger airbag. So if I drive off the road and hit a tree, I'll live. You, though, will be launched through my windshield. I'll let you decide what happens then."
Kate kept an eye on him while looking down and sure enough, she wasn't wearing a seat belt and she didn't see anything resembling an airbag on her side. She knew it would hurt, but she would be fine. But then she would be short a car yet again. Another problem was she had no idea where Oseetah Lake was located.
Kate holstered her weapon. Her plan was going up in smoke and she didn't have any contingency plans for this mess. She was already playing it by ear. She did at least still have her Go bag.
"Thank you. Shall we try again? Richard Castle, writer."
"Kate Beckett." Kate saw him look at her for a moment. "You wouldn't understand what I do."
"I'm a writer who does more research than you could begin to imagine, so try me," he told her. "There's a lot more to me than meets the eye."
"You still wouldn't understand." She didn't feel that he was a Vampire. It was about the only person that could resist not doing what she ordered him to do.
Rick shrugged. "Have it your way for now. So, do I need to stop somewhere for you? I need to stop for gas before I get home."
"I'm fine," Kate told him, her head held high. "I don't need anything I don't have on me."
That got both of them to drive in silence.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
Kate watched him stop for gas but didn't get out. Then a little later he stopped and shut off the car. "We're here. …Almost." Rick got out followed by her. She grabbed her Go bag and followed him. But where he was going was strange. He was headed for a boat dock.
"Get in." Rick began to untie his boat.
"This is a boat?" It was far too small to live on. It was just a little boat. All right, not that little but far too little.
"Very good!" Rick threw the rope onto the boat, got in, and waited for her. "I don't just live at this lake, I live in the middle of the lake. I own an island."
"Oh!" That was unexpected. Still, the isolation might be good. At least until she needed blood. Isolated on an island might not be such a good idea. Regardless, she got in the boat and watched him back up till he could turn around and head out onto the lake.
She could see where he was going. "You do know where you are going?" It was black outside with little to no light.
"Absolutely." He could even see where home was. Plus, he had left a light on so he could dock the boat easier.
Kate sat and observed and soon a light came into view. Eventually, she watched him pull into a boathouse. There were two spaces. The other boat looked like a simple fishing boat. There was a ladder leading to a loft.
He had rope hanging everywhere. Little cans of she didn't know what. Gas cans and a lot of fishing gear. "Follow me." He went out one door and she saw a door on the opposite side.
Down a wood boardwalk he opened a door to a building. "This is the guest building. You can use it. Eight hundred fifty-two square feet, one bedroom, one bathroom, full kitchen, two sleeper sofas, and a wood burning stove that shouldn't be needed just yet. The TV is satellite. The Internet is satellite as well.
"The Wi-Fi password is SoylentGreen, all one word. Just a little joke. There should be a little food in the kitchen. My cabin is on the opposite side. Just go through the boathouse and down the boardwalk. Breakfast is at seven or you're on your own. Knock if you want something." Rick turned to leave her to it.
"You're trusting me?" Kate didn't understand why he would.
"You're in the middle of a lake you clearly know nothing about, so you don't even know exactly where you are. I have the keys. And I have all the answers to the questions you're not asking.
"You're armed quite heavily so you can take care of yourself. It suggests you're on the run or can't find your target. I know I can defend myself even with your weapons. So move in and get some sleep. I'll see you for breakfast." This time Rick did leave her.
"Strange." Kate didn't understand him. Still, Kate checked her Go bag and made sure her blood bag was still cold and nothing was damaged.
She had a plaid sofa, brown leather sofa, wood burning stove with a stack of wood both indoors and out, a dining room table that seated eight and it had six different wood chairs telling her he got them from anywhere he could. Red walls, red ceiling, linoleum floors, wood beams, curtains instead of doors. One was the bedroom and the other was the bathroom.
The kitchen had green cabinets, green counter tops, red walls, red ceiling, and green painted wood floors with white appliances. Nothing was modern like she was used to, but it was all here. Opening the cabinets told her she did indeed have everything including canned food, and there actually was something in the refrigerator and freezer.
Her bed looked handmade and very rustic. There were various pictures and a FISH of all things hanging on the wall. "Please tell me that thing doesn't talk," Kate said to herself and avoided touching it to find out.
However, this place reminded her of the time she was a little girl with her parents, before her parents were killed and she was converted into a Vampire. Since then it had been that massive modern Mansion. Josh was relatively new and she didn't know why he was so enamored with her. He was handsome enough but it didn't take much to figure out he was a control freak asshole.
She hadn't been joking about being tied to the bed and raped when he felt like it. Allowed to bite someone or fed blood to live. That would have been her life if she had stayed.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
Rick had spent half the night waiting to see if his guest either came to talk to him or kill him.
Instead she showed up just before breakfast without her cloak and hood. Everything else was in place save for the bag she had been carrying.
"Breakfast? I have everything. Just name it," Rick offered.
"I don't need anything. …I, um, found something in your kitchen. I'm not hungry." She didn't eat food and she didn't need blood yet and besides, she had blood if she did.
"You found something in that kitchen? I know I said there was food over there but I'm pretty sure I was exaggerating." Rick pulled out some eggs and found some little Jimmy Dean sausage links to cook even if they were precooked.
"I'm fine, really. This place is different." His was different than hers. His was bigger and had a lot more green. Green walls, green ceiling, green floors. He had a fireplace instead of wood stove. His kitchen was bigger too.
"Let me know if you need clothes washed. I have the only clothes washer." Rick pointed at it.
"Thanks, I'll let you know."
"So, are you ready to shoot me?" Rick couldn't help but notice that she did indeed have two weapons.
Kate tried to suppress a smile. "I believe I'll wait till later if it's all the same to you."
"So what does a pretty lady like you need a pair of Beretta 92FS pistols for?" Rick inquired while he moved his eggs around since he was making scrambled eggs.
"Where I live we have a leader, Josh Davidson. He's decided that he wants me. Except his idea of want is to keep me tied to the bed and do what he wants with me. Instead of shooting him I ran away." That was actually part of the truth, just not all of it.
"Well, tying you to the bed might be fun. Only, provided you offered to return the favor." Rick still had his back to her so didn't see the shocked look on her face.
Kate decided to tease him back. "I'm not sure the bed I slept on could withstand that much activity."
"Oooo." Rick turned to look at her and grinned at her. "Maybe it was a good thing I didn't run you down in the dark after all."
"Yes, lucky me." Kate pointed at his eggs for him.
Kate actually sat with him and watched him eat. It didn't look like a whole lot but what did she know. She hadn't eaten food since she was a little kid.
"Why way out here in the middle of a lake?" Kate asked. "I know four hours north for me would put me pretty close to the Canadian border." There was something off about him. She was used to Josh and the other men in the Mansion and none of them acted like he did.
"Isolation mostly. I suppose you want a story. Just be warned it's not a pretty one and really hard to believe," Rick warned.
"Try me. As someone once asked of me." Kate used his own words against him and saw him grin. Maybe that was why he was different. In the Mansion no one smiled.
"Five years ago, my daughter, my mother, and I went out looking for a Christmas tree to cut down. Someone not to be named just had to have a real Christmas tree which meant cutting down our own tree.
"I parked on the side of the road and walked out into the trees with my saw to cut down a tree. The perfect tree, of course." Rick grinned at her and watched her finally smile back at him.
"Naturally, we split up to find this perfect tree. That was when it happened. Alexis, that's my daughter, screamed. It was one of those scared shitless kind of screams. The kind of scream that freezes your very soul." Rick began to get to the ugly part. "By the time I found her this wolf of a size I had never seen before was literally ripping her head off her dead body."
"OH, NO!" Kate could guess just who he was talking about. What they would be doing out there she had no idea.
"I…" Rick had to stop himself from saying he shifted and ripped his clothes to pieces. "I ripped it limb from limb." He had literally ripped its head off. "Then Mother screamed but before I could search for her another one showed up. So I ripped it limb from limb as well.
"By the time I found my mother she was just as dead. I ripped it limb from limb as well. In the end there were eight of the beasts. Then came the surprise that's going to hard to believe." Rick paused to make sure she was ready for this.
Actually, Kate was already not really believing this story. A human ripping a Lycan limb from limb with his bare hands? This was a fantasy story.
"The dead wolves turned into dead men. Naked men, no less. Not a single woman, just men. I spent the entire day and the following night out there screaming at world. These… things had just taken my family from me.
"I was ready to die myself. Then Gina opened up her big heartless mouth and I nearly killed her. That's my editor that publishes the books I write. I came so seriously close to ripping her limb from limb.
"I needed to get out of New York City after that. My real estate agent found this place. It felt perfect. The exact opposite of the place I had in New York City. I just have to take the boat into the closest town once in a while." Rick could see the hurt on her face.
Rick was finished with his story. "It's fine. I ran out of tears maybe a year ago."
"Lycans," Kate murmured and shook her head.
"You know what they are? My research suggested werewolves. I have an imagination so that wasn't that much of a shock." Rick was done eating and looked at her.
"I kill them. It's why I'm armed as I am. I'm a Death Walker. I'm part of a team that goes out and hunts them. But I don't rip them limb from limb. I'm not that powerful." Kate looked at him; she was curious about what he'd said.
He immediately amended his story. "Did I say that? I meant I used my saw and cut them to pieces."
"Richard Castle?" Kate clearly isn't falling for that.
"You first. It's obvious that you know something I don't, so why do you hunt these things?" Rick queried.
"You're not going to believe me," Kate cautioned him and watched him sit there and waited. Kate could almost hear, "Try me."
"Death Walker or for some, Death Dealer. We've been at war with the Lycans for generations. I grew up in a really small town. Just me, my sister, my parents, and the rest of the village.
"Then a pack of Lycans attacked and wiped out my village. They killed everyone but me. I was saved by a team of Death Dealers. They killed all the Lycans. They in turn converted me into one of them. It wasn't really my idea but until the last few months – when Josh took over – I was perfectly happy to be one of them." Kate took in a big breath. He was going to have trouble believing this.
"I'm a Vampire. I wasn't born a Vampire like most of the others, but I am one. They gave me the opportunity to kill the Lycans that killed my family and my village."
"Vampire?" Rick began to point out a few flaws in her story. "…You're not white, you don't have fangs, and you're out in the sun."
"I can retract my fangs, very few Vampires are white, and the sun isn't out. It's cloudy and overcast and about to rain. I just can't be in direct sunlight. It will burn me to a crisp. It's why our mansion has blackout curtains and roll down shades to block out the sun. We have solar power, wind power, and generators, security cameras, armed guards, and very angry dogs."
"Prove it." Rick raised an eyebrow and watched as Kate opened her mouth and extended her fangs. "I suppose this means you don't eat food and only drink blood."
"Quite true. I have a bag of blood in my bag. My escape-the-Mansion bag."
Rick looked askance at her. "So you don't need to bite me?"
Kate grinned at him. "No, I don't need to bite you."
"That's good. I'm not sure you would like my blood. My Demon blood," Rick said calmly.
"Your WHAT!?" Kate's mouth fell open and stared at him.
"Incubus, to be precise. Sooo, an Incubus and a Vampire meet on a dark road in New York. One of us is on the run and the other is trying to hide. I write murder mysteries, not romance novels."
"You took that well. Demon, huh?" Kate questioned him.
"I suppose you need proof since you've shown me your fangs. Just remember we're in the middle of a lake so running won't be easy," Rick mentioned.
"I have weapons and I hunt Lycans," Kate countered. Then she watched him get up and begin to strip. She really thought he would stop at his shorts…but he didn't. Of course, her eyes wandered down to look at his cock.
Then it happened. Richard Castle changed form. In just seconds he became reddish in color, grew wings, a tail, and horns. However, there were two things that had her immediate attention. One was the increased size of his cock. Even soft he grew larger. The other thing was that he was ripped. He had muscles in all the right places and sexy couldn't even begin to describe him.
"WOW!" She'd had very few lovers over the years and all of them were Vampires. Rick put every one of them to shame. That was when she smelled something and watched in amazement as his cock grew in size. He was getting an erection.
A strange scent of musky sweetness was filling the air. Unconsciously, Kate began breathing deeply, filling her lungs with the pheromone-tainted air of the room. Falling into a daze her eyes became glassy, and she began to pant as her body responded to the pheromones. Her vagina began to moisten and a burning need began to grow in her groin. "What…what's happening?" Kate couldn't stop breathing in that scent.
"Sorry. You're gorgeous and hard to resist when I'm like this. I'll leave and change back." Rick turned to go his bedroom to shift back and put on new clothes.
"NO!" Kate had never felt this kind of sexual need before. She could overlook the horns, tail, and maybe his wings. But she couldn't just let that Cock escape her.
Rick tried to warn her but she wasn't listening. "Kate, don't. Once you start even I can't stop." She had to have that Cock.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
Kate was naked and in his bed totally out of breath. She counted herself lucky she was breathing. What he had done to her was something she had thought was impossible. Okay, she wasn't a virgin but when it came to what he had done to her body, she was a virgin.
Rick was presently on his side with his head propped up and he was using a finger to doodle over her breasts. "You okay?" He wasn't sure if she was suffering or if she was recovering.
"I'm better than okay. So this is what an Incubus can do, huh?" Kate switched from looking at his eyes to looking at his hand doodling on her chest.
"I'm an Incubus, what can I say? Sex is kinda my life. It's my job to fulfill the dreams of the women I have sex with. It just happens to be beneficial for me as well. I need a woman's Cum to live.
"I can eat your pussy and swallow your Cum when you climax or my Cock can absorb it. In either case it's in my best interest to fulfill your dreams," Rick explained.
That had Kate turning on her side to face him with their lips close enough to breathe on. "Well, you did that." Kate brushed her lips across his. She was even beginning to think about staying here with him. He wasn't part of her plan. Not even any of her alternate plans that she had already put to use.
"You interested in finding out if my blood works for you?" Rick leaned in to kiss her.
"I don't need to bite you. I don't need blood yet. Besides, I have blood I can use. You've been getting what you need somehow, so I can get what I need the same way. They won't remember a thing." At least that was what she'd been told.
"If you say so." Rick smiled lazily. "Are you ready for another round?"
"Don't you ever get tired?" Kate asked since she wasn't really sure.
"Nope. I'm an Incubus. It's my job to achieve your dreams."
Kate smiled at him. "Since I'm going to be sore in the morning might as well make it worth my while, Incubus."
"Wise choice, Vampire." Rick pushed her over onto her back and climbed up on her while not resting his body weight on her. Then he tested her pussy lips with the tip of his cock to see if she was wet enough. Once she was he slowly slid his cock inside her and started to fuck her.

One month later
Kate had new clothes and she even had a swimsuit so she could go swimming in the lake while not skinny dipping. Though since Rick had seen everything skinny dipping wasn't that big of a deal.
Over the last month they hadn't had sex maybe two or three times a day at the most. Yes, she might be willing to call herself hooked on sex. Sex with him, at least. After all, he was an Incubus.
Right now she was out on one of the decks waiting for him to come home. He needed to do some shopping and she didn't need to come if she didn't want to. So she had stayed.
Now during this month she had found out that this island didn't have just the three main buildings. His cabin, that was now more his and her cabin, since she slept with him in his bed. Her cabin and the boat house.
In addition to those three there was a treehouse that held two twin beds, a real honest-to-god outhouse, and a generator shed that held the batteries for the solar panels as well as the filtration system for the water. They got their water from the lake, filtered it, and that was what they were using. She only drank blood so water usage didn't bother her any.
Right now she was watching as two boats that seemed to be in a hurry were headed her way. One of them could be Rick. It was just while she might be getting soft with all this sex with Rick, she was still a Death Walker or Death Dealer if you preferred, and her senses were screaming at her. Only a moment later, she was up and inside to retrieve all four of her weapons.
Now she was out of the house and on the island itself behind a tree where she waited. She spotted three men in each boat. Two in each were clearly armed with sub-machine guns, but nothing long range so this was a close-in conflict. Which was fine with her. Her specialty.
It was while she waited till they were close enough that she could say beyond a doubt that they were here for her that she spotted something else. It was flying, had large wings, and was NAKED! Now that naked body she knew well. Practically every square inch had been inspected by her personally.
She watched as what could only be Rick landed in one of the boats and body parts instantly started to be thrown from the boat. That had her opening fire on the other boat.
Now she was a really good shot. However, a boat bouncing up and down thanks to its speed and the lake itself meant not all of her shots went where she wanted them to. And the noise of her shots were going to travel far and wide.
They were firing back at her, hitting her tree and the land and trees around her until suddenly it stopped. Lifting up to look she saw Rick was now in that boat and body parts came flying from that boat as well.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
"How did you know?" Kate asked a naked Incubus after he landed and found her.
"I found two dead men at the boat dock and saw two boats were missing. The noise of the boats told me they were headed for you. Right now we need to start packing. I'm thinking our time here has come to an end. Between those two dead men and what's in the lake the police are going to have questions we can't answer."
"SHIT!" She liked it here. It might not be modern like the Mansion but this place had grown on her. It was a lot like her home when she was a little girl. She liked it.
"Pack only what I gave you, leave everything else," Rick told her.
"Why?" She hadn't run out of ammunition yet and if they had found her they would just try again.
"Follow me." He took her to one of the boats they had stolen that was now in his boathouse. "Does this look familiar? It was on their boat."
"I'M BUGGED!?" Kate knew what it was. If it was in her body somehow she had a problem. She had no idea where or how big it was. As a Vampire her skin, much like his skin, was perfectly baby smooth. She healed her wounds much like he did.
So they tested it by walking to either end of the island. In the end the bugs were on her weapons and not buried inside her body. So that was something.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
Her weapons were in the lake and they and everything they could pack were in his old Jeep on Interstate 89 heading north. Drawback was that they could only travel at night because she was a Vampire. It meant a long trip to reach where they had both agreed on. Thanks to sunlight being an issue they had to be careful all the way.
Fairbanks, Alaska
During winter, which would arrive soon in Fairbanks, the shortest day was just three hours and forty-two minutes. Meaning night in winter would last a long time. Perfect for her. Now the problem with getting there was that it was a ninety-seven hour drive. Divided by only driving at night and stopping long before the sun came up. In a hotel that still had someone in the office that early in the morning. Long before check-in time.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
"Wish me luck." Rick kissed her in their dark hotel room. Kate retreated to the bathroom so he could open the door and leave. His first three trips with a local real estate agent had come up empty. One of them didn't like any of them.
There was one more thing about this trip and even her stay at his island. She had long since run out of blood to drink and she had finally, after his continued insistence, bitten him. Now for a Vampire, blood was blood. Human blood was best but animal blood would do. His blood had a peculiar taste to it, but it was still red in color, and she wasn't dead yet.
She needed him to come back soon. She had forgotten to bite him yesterday. She had gotten so preoccupied with making love to him and all the orgasms he was capable of giving her that it had slipped her mind.
Her mind! That was one thing that sex with him caused. Those orgasms caused her mind to just shut down. It took days to get here and yes, she knew she was falling in love with him.
He was funny, damn sexy, incredibly good in bed, a bit of a jackass on occasion. He also wasn't afraid of her. A Vampire and an Incubus. She definitely hadn't seen that one coming.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
He was back and he had brought food for himself. As a human he still needed to eat and drink. As an Incubus he needed her Cum, which she was more than willing to provide.
"So, what did you see, and I need for you to change so I can bite you," Kate told him.
A while later a very content Kate was sitting with her Incubus lover looking over the houses he had seen today.
"This one is big and it's white. Is it still available?" Kate liked one from the outside. Now she was pulling his laptop over to her so she could look it up and see the pictures.
2693 Old Chena Ridge Road
Fairbanks, Alaska 99709
"Four bedrooms, four bathrooms, 3,717 square feet, two car garage on just under five acres. Close to town." Kate began looking at the pictures.
"Aisha said it came furnished," Rick told her. That was a big positive so far as he was concerned. "All the owner was taking was their personal items. Everything else stays. It's only $770,000. I can handle that easily. The island was twice that. Since I still own it maybe we can go back there one day."
"I liked your island. I can get the blood I need from you so I didn't need to go into town. It was perfect. Let's see, it has a lot of glass, wood stove, wood floors, the kitchen is big enough for you, second floor. Hey, what's this space?" Kate turned the laptop around so he could see.
"It's a bonus room that right now looks like storage for junk that might be staying. I was thinking of throwing all that out and turning it into a game room. Get a pool table, Foosball table. Half of it could be your yoga space."
Kate turned the laptop back around. "Maybe. Have you found a way to purchase weapons yet? I feel kinda naked and vulnerable without mine. Stupid bugs. Leave it to Josh to find a way to track my movements. Bastard!" God, how she hated him.
"Alaska is a shall-issue, constitutional carry state. Firearms do not need to be registered, and no permit is required to purchase. No background check is required to buy a handgun from a private individual. Stun guns, Tasers, and pepper spray are also legal to purchase and possess without a permit. Apparently thanks to bear hunting, moose hunting, and whatever hunting, you can get just about anything here. Shouldn't be a problem. Though they may not have exactly what you want." Her weapons were specialized just for her.
"I'll take it. Hand guns of almost any size. Just no .22's, please. A shotgun might be nice. Especially one that has a drum, if possible." Kate smiled at him.
"I'll see what I can arrange." Rick was even thinking of a simple shotgun for himself. They were in Alaska, so be an Alaskan.
Kate had just one big requirement. "We need to do something about all these windows or I'm going to be trapped somewhere. I really don't fancy sleeping the day away in a tub."
"It's a lot of blackout curtains, but I think we can do it." Rick had already seen that one coming.
The house was purchased by Rodgers Enterprises which was owned by the Castle Group whose CEO was listed as one Robert Weldon. Address unknown. Phone number unknown.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
It is now one year later
"BABE, can you come here for a minute?" Kate called out since she knew he was home somewhere.
Rick walked into the master bathroom and saw her standing sideways and rubbing her belly. "I didn't think Vampires got sick." It was where his mind went to first.
"They don't, but can you feel my belly for me? There's a bump I can't explain." It was tiny but she could feel it. So Rick did just that. He even got down on his knees to look across her into the mirror.
"I don't see or feel anything. Um, don't freak out on me but I have to ask… Can Vampires get pregnant?" God knew they made love to each other a lot. He had climaxed inside her an awful lot. Why he hadn't asked her about that long ago had him kicking himself but…
"PREGNANT!" Kate shrieked. "I'm pregnant?" Yes, she knew Vampires could get pregnant. It was just she didn't know that an Incubus could get her pregnant. So why hadn't she asked him that question? Her first guess was because she was having far too much fun making love to him to even ask him.
"You got me pregnant? Can an Incubus get a Vampire pregnant?" Kate looked down at him since he was still on his knees. In human form.
"How should I know? I don't even know another Incubus and until you, I'd never even met a Vampire before. At least not one I knew about." It was possible that he had but just never knew it.
"Pregnant." Kate said the word again and went back to trying to find her bump in the mirror while running her hand over her belly. "Can you look at my back too? It itches for some reason." She turned so he could look.
"You do have two red lines down your back. Just about the shoulder blade area. I'll get the cream." Rick kissed her shoulder and went off to find it.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
It is now one month later
Now both of them could feel her bump. Her baby bump. But there was one more thing. Those two red lines on her back had something coming out of them. In addition to that she had a red line just above the crack of her ass. They all itched like crazy.
Rick was presently rubbing a cream over the one on her ass after finishing the ones on her back. "So why am I growing wings?" It was all they could come up with. The bumps on her back looked suspiciously like the wings on his back in Incubus form.
"I've come up with a theory but that's all it is, a theory," Rick offered. He finished and stood up, wrapped his arms around her from behind, and placed his hands on their baby bump.
"I'm listening." Kate would take anything about now. Vampires didn't have wings. Not even the Elders had wings. They just got old eventually was all. Vampires could live an extremely long time. Almost as long as an Incubus.
Rick began to explain his theory. "You've been biting me to get the blood you need for over a year now. I'm a Demon, you know."
Kate quickly turned to face him. "You're telling me I'm turning into a Demon now?" How was that possible? She was a Vampire. She actually liked being a Vampire. It had some drawbacks but she was okay with those. "I don't want to be an Incubus. How am I supposed to make love to you? This sucks!" Kate walked into him and let him hold her.
Rick shook his head a couple times. "I was thinking not an Incubus, but maybe a Succubus. Half Succubus and half Vampire. What that means I have no idea. But your body is full of my blood by now."
He had her there. Her original blood would be gone by now and replaced at least partly with his. "So, female Demon. This is going to be interesting. Though it does help explain why my bras are suddenly a little tight now." Her breasts were growing.
"Succubus breasts filled with milk because you're pregnant," Rick mentioned.
"Yeah." She was most definitely pregnant.
:ǂ: - ʘ - :ǂ:
It is three months later now
"FUCK MY PUSSY!" Kate was on her hands and knees and Rick had been making love to her, but that wasn't what she wanted. It wasn't what she needed.
Her belly was bigger, her breasts were bigger, and since she didn't have a single bit of sag in them and they had gotten sensitive suddenly, she was doing without a bra. Plus she had wings. At least the start of wings as well as a start of a tail. And now to top it all off her forehead hurt. Right where Rick had horns.
She was clearly transforming into a Succubus. It was just that she still had the need for blood and so she was still biting him to get the blood she needed.
It also meant that sleeping was a pain. A real pain. If she laid on her back, her back hurt thanks to her wings and her tail. If she laid on her stomach her breasts hurt and she didn't want to hurt her baby.
So here she was after getting fucked and filled with his Cum, she was lying on her side being spooned by Rick. It was about the only position left to her.
"What are we going to do, Babe? Going to a doctor is out. I'm a Vampire filled with half Vampire and half Demon blood. I've got wings on my back, a tail on my ass, and my belly is getting bigger and bigger. I can't even wear clothes." She was forced to walk around the house or even outside at night, totally naked.
"Yes, I noticed." Rick smiled appreciatively. Watching her walking around naked and looking more sexy than ever was getting to him.
"Keep your pheromones to yourself." Kate was starting to smell them.
"Sorry." Rick concentrated on toning them down some. Off had proven to be impossible for him. Kate was just too damn sexy.
"We're going to have a baby" Rick moved a hand over to the baby and rubbed her belly.
Truth be told, she liked it when he rubbed her belly. She also liked it when he massaged her shoulders and massaged her aching feet. Between her wings and her pregnancy, her back was almost always aching fiercely.
"Yes, we are." Kate put her hand on his hand that was on her big belly.
"You know, I have one more idea for us to try maybe later. I'm an Incubus and as such I can go outside in the sun. Once your wings, and tail, and horns are fully developed I was thinking maybe— "
Kate interrupted him. "I can go out into the sun! But I'm a Vampire." Kate knew what the sun did to a Vampire. It was the ultimate pain for a Vampire. To be staked out when it was dark and have the sun come up and burn you to a crisp. She had seen it. One more reason to hate Josh and be fearful of him.
"And a very sexy one, too," Rick added.
"Watch the pheromones." Kate could smell them again. She'd already had enough sex for today. Rick was more than capable of wearing her out and had proven that numerous times already.
"Sorry." Rick concentrated on toning them down again. "I can't help it. I love you."
Kate took his hand off her belly, brought it up to her lips, and kissed it. "I love you too, babe. So, a half Demon and half Vampire baby. This should prove to be interesting. Do I feed the baby the milk I'm creating or are these simply Succubus boobs? Will the baby need blood? Do we need baby food? What about diapers? Sunlight? Can the baby go to a local school when he or she is old enough?
"Pretty sure going to school naked is out." Kate was full of questions.
"We'll work it out. Though what I'm hoping for is that eventually you can look more human like I do. Or more Vampire like you used to. The half Succubus part of you means you can be in the sun. I can finally get you into town," Rick stopped talking momentarily, leaned down and kissed her, then he said, "so I can marry you."
That had Kate spinning around despite the pain so she could face him. She was palming his face while she cried. "Yes." They hadn't talked about it since it had always been nearly impossible. Getting married in the dark had sounded difficult to do. And if they did and Josh found her, would he send another team to kill her?
"I want to be married. I want our baby. I want to have a family. …I love you." She might not know how all this had happened but she wasn't sorry. This wasn't part of her plan when she had escaped. This was an even better result of her original plan.
Alexis Harper Castle
Six months later Katherine Beckett married Richard Castle.
Ice Art Park
3574 Phillips Field Road, Fairbanks, Alaska
It was winter and it was cold and it was perfect because they got married outdoors in the sunshine.
Then baby Alexis got to slide down the mile long ice slide as her very first event.
Now they were discussing if they should move and to where? Anywhere was possible now since Kate could tolerate sunshine as could Alexis.
The problem was they were all over the place. Move to Hawaii? Move to Florida? Move to the Bahamas? Move to a Caribbean Island?
Rick was thinking of selling his island from long distance so they would have more money. He was still writing and sending in his manuscripts to be published and no, he wasn't moving to New York City as someone named Gina Cowell was demanding. And no, he wouldn't be doing any book signings in any city, anywhere. She was just going to have to deal with it.
And deal with him being married with a family since she seemed to have a problem with all of that.
"So, have you reached any conclusions, Wife?" Rick wanted to know where they were moving to next since they didn't need Fairbanks for the darkness during winter any longer.
"Nope, just so long as it's right on the beach. I haven't seen sunshine or a beach since I was a little girl, before the Lycans showed up and killed everyone. I love you so much… Husband." Kate grinned wide at him and kissed him. That was followed by hearing Alexis crying.
"I'm coming," Kate called out. A wife and mother's work was never done.
She might look Vampire and still had Fangs but she was also part Demon underneath. That part of her had given her a whole new life. All because of a chance encounter with an Incubus on the side of a road in the dark.
