It's that very special time of year. When the ground is covered in white sheets of snow. The trees are without their leaves. The buildings are blinking with lights of red and green. Very special trees filled with ornaments and lights, giving each tree its own personality. Snowmen and women scatter the streets of Ultimatum. Buildings' roofs covered in snow. Icicles line the sides of the roofs. It was Christmas. The day to be jolly. One special building is ready to celebrate this magical season. The Smash Mansion.

Mario slid a present under the huge tree in the main living room. The tree was large. Each fighter had at least one ornament based on their worlds on the tree, but most of them helped decorate the tree so the tree is a huge hodge-podge of worlds, much like the Smash Mansion itself is. Mario smiles before walking off. Pit soon sticks his head into the room. The room is empty, which is unusual. This room is usually the most crowded room in the entire building.

Pit is thankful at how it's empty, however. He wants to put a gift under the tree without anyone seeing him. He carefully walks in with a gift and slides it underneath the tree. The gift is for Dark Pit. But he didn't want anyone to know it's from him. He runs from the room and sighs. "The hell you doing?" Dark Pit asks him. Pit jumps a bit from shock.

"P-Pittoo?" Pit questions. Dark Pit crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow. "Fine…S-Sora challenged me to a race and…he's very fast." Almost as if he's been called, Sora appears next to Pit.

"Hey guys," Sora happily says.

"You beat him in a race?" Dark Pit asks him. Sora looks at Pit, but Pit has a pleading look on his face. Sora chuckles before looking back at Dark Pit.

"Well, you know, I'm just that good that I demolished him," Sora chuckles. Dark Pit looks at Sora then back at Pit before shrugging and walking off. Pit stands up straight and looks at him.

"Didn't need to go that far." Sora faintly looks at Pit and winks.

"What were you doing over here though?"

"C-can't an angel just walk through the mansion?"

"You can. But you do have a suspicious look on your face, so I'm to assume you did something." Pit looks around before grabbing Sora's arm and walking off to the nearby storage room.

"I got Pittoo a gift. I don't want anyone to know so that no one would tell him."

"Why? It's Christmas, so gifts are normal."

"Yeah, but Dark Pit isn't one for receiving gifts. The second he learns about getting a gift he'll find it and toss it."

"Yeah fair enough."

"So please, don't tell him."

"No worries. I won't tell anyone." Sora places a hand on Pit's shoulders and smiles. "Your secret is safe with me." Pit lets out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you." Sora smiles before opening the door and walking out. Pit steps out and clears his throat. "Now, I hope you enjoy the rest of the day, Sora." Sora nods his head before walking off, passing Zelda, who is staring at Pit with wide eyes. Pit knows this look. He sighs. "I-it's not what it looks like, Zelda."

"You were in a closet….alone….with Sora….who you're already close friends with…." Zelda says, her voice cracking a little.

"We're just frien-"

"HOW LONG DID YOU KISS!?" Pit doesn't wait for a single moment and just runs off. Soon enough he runs into Lucas. Lucas falls to the ground.

"Oh no, I-I'm sorry Lucas." He extends his hand toward Lucas, and he takes it. Lucas stands up with a smile.

"No need to worry." Lucas stretches his back. "Why're you running?"

"Zelda. She's in her shipping phase." Lucas chuckles.

"She's always in that phase." Lucas fixes a bowtie that he has on. Pit takes a moment to analyze what he has on. He's wearing what looks like an elf costume. Pit looks at Lucas's face with a raised eyebrow.

"What…do you have on?"

"Ness and a few others are joining me to go caroling. Wanna join?"

"Like, full-on caroling? I dunno. I might just go out and make a snowman or something like that. I've never fully planned what I'd do today." Lucas shrugs before patting Pit's shoulders.

"Well, have fun. And at least have this." Lucas takes off the Santa hat, which is slightly altered to fit an elf more than the big guy himself. Lucas puts the hat on Pit's head. "OOO! I have a good bit before it's time to go caroling, can Ness and I dress you up?" Pit chuckles innocently. He always loves how much energy Lucas has, especially around holidays. Lucas basically becomes an energized monster. Pit shrugs.

"Sure, sounds like fun." Lucas's smile grows wider as he grabs Pit's hand and runs off to Ness's dorm room. Ness is in there already, on the phone. When Lucas and Pit walk in, he turns the phone off.

"What's he doing here?" Ness asks.

"He needs some Christmas garments." Ness smiles before standing up and walking over to the closet.

"Alright, sit down, Pit. We'll get you properly ready for the wonderful day of Christmas." Lucas pushes Pit over to the bed and makes him sit down.

It takes a good while before Pit leaves the room. He's decked out in a Rudolph cosplay. The antlers, the tail, the outfit, everything was Rudolph. Pit turns around to look back into the room. "Thank you two." Lucas smiles.

"I'm surprised you sat still for the tail. Usually, people squirm when we need to put it in."

"Well, I'm just strong," Pit smiles.

"Or you're used to it," Lucas smirks. Pit simply gulps before closing the door. He fixes his antlers, to make sure they're straight and secure. He walks off and eventually makes it out to the backyard of the mansion. There, he sees just how snowy the whole area is. He takes some gloves out of his pocket and puts them on. He sees the flat snow and feels somewhat bad that he's about to ruin the sleek look of the snow. He steps into the snow and hears the satisfying crunch.

"Hehe, Snowman time!

"Pft, I'm making the best snowman, dweeb," a familiar voice says from behind him. He turns around to see Bowser Jr. and his father. Bowser crosses his arms.

"Listen here, furry, my son is making the better snowman, and you're going to suck it," Bowser smugly said. Bowser Jr. chuckled as he stood with a Wonder Woman pose.

"Sounds like a competition," Pit says.

"Perhaps it is. We'll need some judges though."

"I don't think so. This is just for fun. A nice friendly competition." Bowser always hated Pit's beaming smile, and now is no different. Bowser Jr., however, is more than fine with it being a friendly competition. He runs into the snow, no remorse for the flatness and smoothness that he's now ruining.

"HURRY UP! ANGEL HAIR!" Bowser Jr. says as he gets into the snow to start forming the body. Pit goes into the field. Bowser can't help but smile proudly as he watches his son play in the snow.

Pit makes a regular snowball before slowly adding more and more before putting it on the ground, adding more as he constantly pats it in. He then starts rolling it around, having it get bigger and bigger. Soon enough it's huge and he does the same thing for another ball, but has it be slightly smaller to put on top. He looks over to Bowser Jr. and sees that he has already formed the entire snowman and is doing the decorations. "Jeez, how're you so fast, kid?"

"Cause I'm an expert snowman maker," Bowser Jr. toots his own horn. Pit forms the head rather quickly and places it onto the rest of the body. He looks around and sees he has not got anything for any of the other stuff he needs to add.

"Crud…I should've gotten stuff before coming out here…" Soon enough, however, some pebbles, a carrot, and other stuff are thrown over to him. He looks over at Bowser jr. and smiles. "Thank you."

"Yeah yeah, whatever, I just want a fair fight." Pit starts to decorate the snowman. Making a smile and some eyes with the pebbles. He makes the classic carrot nose and stick arms. He adds a scarf to the snowman and buttons down his middle body. He steps back and looks at his snowman up and down and smiles proudly.

"Look at you, the mighty snowman of the eastern kingdom," he giggles happily. It doesn't take much longer before the snowman breaks apart due to someone slamming into it. Pit looks down at the perp. It's Sonic. He sighs. "Come on, you just knocked down the mighty snowman of the eastern kingdom…" Sonic stands up and looks at the ruined snowman. The part of the snowman that was the least ruined is the base of the snowman. So Sonic picks up the carrot and attaches it to the base.

"Now look! He's perfect," Sonic nervously says. Snake appears next to Pit and looks at it.

"Damn, the man's got a stiffie," Snake chuckles. Sonic growls before dashing forward and taking Snake with him. Pit's left to sigh as the carrot falls back to the ground. Bowser Jr. walks over to his side and tilts his head.

"You know you're supposed to make a snowman, not a snowball?" Bowser Jr. says, trying to joke around. Pit is able to smile softly. He looks down at him.

"Could've been a tad more creative with that insult." Bowser Jr. looks up at him.

"You must have a degradation kink." Pit blushes instantly.

"H-how do you know what a kink is?"

"I'm much older than I look. Older than even Lucas actually."

"Well…too bad. I-I don't have any kink!" Pit runs off, but of course, the way he denies it shows Bowser Jr. it is exactly what he thinks it is. Pit sighs. He shakes his head before looking up and seeing Dark Pit walk his way.

"Hey, Pittoo!" Dark Pit looks up from his phone and opens his mouth to surely say something snarky, but is shocked by the costume he has on.

"The hell you wearing?"

"Rudolph! I think it looks cute on me." Pit looks around his body and even at his back end and gives his butt a small shake to shake the tail.

"You're ugly." Dark Pit walks off, and Pit just joins him.

"Hehe, thank you." Pit has grown to not take Dark Pit's "Insults" as actual insults. He can tell when an insult is meant to be an insult.

"So, where ya going?"

"Peach is cooking some stuff, so I'm going to get my share before Kirby gets his pudgy hands on them."

"Cool cool. I'm joining ya." Dark Pit rolls his eyes. He doesn't have a choice so he doesn't bother to try and fight back. The two of them walk over to the cafeteria, where there are already a few people in there. They walk over to the food counter where Peach is still on the other side to make the food. Peach turns around and smiles.

"Hi, there! Here for some Christmas goods?"

"No shit," Dark Pit says. Peach simply smiles before walking off. She's not out of sight for too long before appearing back with a tray of assorted Christmas cookies. They were in various different shapes, Santa Hat, Snowmen, Presents, Reindeer, and finally Christmas trees. They had not only the shapes but the looks as well, and even some sugar on top to make the appearance seem shiny. Pit licks his lips before grabbing a Snowman cookie and a present cookie. Dark Pit simply grabs a Christmas Tree cookie. He bites into it right there.

"Come on, you don't wanna sit down?"

"It's just a cookie. I don't need to sit down for it-" he gets interrupted with Pit dragging him over to the table that has a few people, those being Samus, Cloud, and Captain Falcon. Captain Falcon looked at the two people joining them.

"Yo," Captain Falcon says as he bites down into a piece of fried chicken.

"Hey," Pit greets as he sits down.

"So, as I was saying, I demolished this kid when I threw a big ass snowball right at his face."

"Can't you do a lot of damage to a kid with the supposed size of that snowball?" Samus asks. Captain Falcon shrugs his shoulders.

"Probably. He did get taken to the hospital. Hopefully, he's not dead."

"You're an idiot, you know that?" Claus questions him.

"Yeah, but I'm a handsome one, aren't I?" Captain Falcon winks toward Samus, who simply rolls her eyes. Dark Pit looks over at Pit with a very annoyed look in his eyes.

"Oh shut up, you love it here." Dark Pit grumbles as he bites into his cookie. Cloud looks at Pit.

"So, Sora tells me you've got a secret." Pit simply sighs. He doesn't know why he trusted Sora with a secret. And worse, Dark Pit is right next to him. Pit chuckles nervously.

"So what if I do?"

"What is it?" Dark Pit questions. This is exactly what he didn't want to happen. He clears his throat and looks at Cloud directly in his eyes.

"Guess you'll need to find out later huh?" Cloud senses something which causes him to smile.

"Right well, I don't really give a fuck so I'm just going to go check on Lucas," Cloud says as he stands up and walks away, leaving his empty tray on the table.

"He's really taking up the fatherly figure for that boy, eh?" Captain Falcon asks.

"I think it's cute," Samus chuckles. Captain Falcon blinks a few times before standing up.

"W-WAIT! LET ME JOIN YOU!" Captain Falcon runs after Cloud.

"He tries way too hard." Dark Pit is still staring at Pit. Pit finishes his cookies and looks at him.

"Wh-what is it?" he asks, worried that he's suspecting something.

"You're weird." He stands up and just leaves. Pit sighs. Samus watches as Dark Pit leaves the room, making her cross her arms and give Pit a very concerned yet stern look.

"So. What is it you're hiding?"

"N-no offense, Ms. Aran…but if I shouldn't have trusted Sora, how can I trust you with it?"

"Well one, Sora didn't say what it is you're hiding. And two…Lucas came to me to talk about his crush on Ness a long time ago, and look how long I've kept the secret." Pit looks down and smirks to himself.

"To a point where it's not even a secret anymore."

"Exactly. So come on, you can trust me." Pit looks up at her and gulps. Samus is a strong lady. She's formidable and probably doesn't have the words "Give up" anywhere near her dictionary. However, at the same time, she's oddly motherly. Not just for Lucas, but for just about everyone else. She truly cares for everyone in the mansion, she's even grown to somewhat care for Ridley, since he's more or less become less violent.

"I got a gift for Pittoo…" Samus tilts her head, a look of confusion on her.

"And that's a secret? Why? You two are friends, shouldn't that be a normal thing, expected even."

"Yeah well….ya see….I don't want him knowing I got him this gift. For all he'll know, it's from a 'secret admirer'." Samus crosses her hands, still seeming somewhat confused. "Ya see…Pittoo seems somewhat down as of late."

"Isn't that normal for him? After all, his name is Dark Pit after all."

"Yeah but look at Dark Samus, is she 100% dark and brooding?" Samus takes a second to think before shaking her head. "Exactly. He seems, sort of, upset about something. I'm hoping the possibility of a secret admirer will cheer him up, even if only a little bit."

"What do you think got him down?"

"Ever since Sora came. I started hanging out with him and the next thing I know, he's being more of an edgelord than he was before."

"Perhaps he's jealous," she suggests. The suggestion shocks Pit for a second. He can never imagine Dark Pit, of all people, being jealous of someone. But the more he thinks about it, the more it makes sense to him. He looks down at his hands. "It's just a theory, but maybe it's true. You might also just need to show him that you're friends with him no matter what. But why, of all things, is a secret admirer the way you went with it?" Pit blushes a bit before standing up.

"Th-thank you for helping me." He runs off before giving her a proper answer. He walks back to the main living room. He looks at the tree and specifically at the gift he put underneath it. He sighs to himself as he wonders if it's truly the best option to go with. He, unknowingly, falls asleep while sitting on the couch thinking of it.

He wakes up near the crackling fireplace. The warmness coming off the fire heated up every bone in his body. There are three stockings hanging from the mantle just above the fireplace. One with his name and the other two being the names of the two other people he cares most for. He looks around and finds he's by himself. "Now, where could they be?" he says to himself. He stands up and starts walking around their lovely cabin.

There are lights lining the walls, loads of decorations of varying shapes and sizes, the smell of wonderful gingerbread men, and the darkness outside all add to the flavor of the cabin that he calls him. He walks back into the living room he woke up in and sees the tree. The bright and colorful tree with gifts underneath it…he decorated it with his family. He smiles as he walks over to it. He rubs an ornament that resembles a halo. "DAD!" a young voice calls out from behind him. He turns around and sees his pride and joy, his son. He's a special boy. He has wings, like his father, but one wing is white while the other is black. His clothing also has that eternal split of angelic white and pitch black. Even his hair is dyed in that same manner, causing some nicknames relating back to Cruella De Ville.

He jumps up and makes Pit hold him. "We were looking for you!" Pit giggles before booping his nose.

"And I was looking for you."

"I remember when your father was the active one, now he's the one laying in the middle of the floor sleeping," another familiar voice calls out. It's Dark Pit. He walks over and picks up their son. "Now Luce, it's Christmas Eve, you need to head on to bed before Santa comes. You know how he feels about kids being up past their bedtime." Luce nods his head before being put on the ground.

"Nighty night!" Luce cheerfully says before running off. Pit simply waves him off, and when he gets out of view, he puts his hand down.

"What's wrong?" Dark Pit asks him.

"I…I just couldn't ask for a better life, really." Dark Pit smiles before bringing Pit into a hug.

"Wake up."

"H-huh?"

"WAKE UP!"

Pit shoots awake, only to see Dark Pit. "The hell is wrong with you? Sleeping on the couch when you have a perfectly good bed in your room?" he asks. Pit rubs his eyes as he looks at a clock mounted on the wall. "Yeah, it's nighttime already doofus." Pit giggles.

"Who says doofus anymore?" Dark Pit rolls his eyes before standing up.

"Knew I shouldn't have been worried in the first place." He turns around.

"Awww, you were worried for me?"

"Shut up. Let's go, the Hands need everyone in the auditorium." He walks off, leaving the room. Pit stands up and begins walking toward the exit, but looks over at the gift he put under for Dark Pit. He sighs before deciding to just follow Dark Pit to the auditorium.

The two of them make it to the auditorium. The Hands are floating a bit above the actual stage, waiting for everyone's arrival. Once everyone takes a seat, Master Hand perks up. "Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! As you all know, there aren't any tournaments for a few weeks for the holidays. However, what we will do is….one….huge….SNOWBALL FIGHT! After that we may commence the opening of the presents," he says, with excitement tainting his voice.

"Now everyone…to the backyard!" Crazy Hand says.

"NO! MY SNOWMAN!" Bowser Jr. yells as he runs out first.

"What are you schmucks doing? GO GET HIM!" Everyone stands up and runs out of the auditorium. They rush over to the backyard where Bowser Jr. is protecting his Snowman. Ganondorf steps forward and makes a snowball.

"I've been wanting to do this~" Ganondorf chucks the snowball toward Bowser Jr., hitting him into the Snowman, destroying it. This causes an all-out snowball war. Pit runs over to where the snowman once stood before it was knocked down by Sonic. There was still a ball there for him to use as cover. He makes a few snowballs before peering over the ball and scanning the area.

He grabs one and chucks it over to hit Dark Pit right in the face. Pit cackles. Dark Pit isn't really partaking in the snowball war. He has a snowball in his hands, but he's simply passing it between hands. However, as soon as his face is smashed with the snowball, he looks over at Pit. He grumbles a bit.

"You bastard." He chucks the snowball over to Pit, but he's able to duck behind what the snowman once called feet. He peers his head back up only to see the legs of Dark Pit. He slowly looks up at him and gulps. Dark Pit has a huge snowball in his hands right now.

"W-would you believe me if I said hitting you was an accident?"

"Not in the slightest."

"Dang." The big snowball falls and hits Pit directly on his head. This also destroys the coverage he had. Pit is still able to recover very quickly. He and Dark Pit share a longing look before the two jumps back and start pummeling the other with snowballs. Pit is having a ball, and strangely enough, he believes he sees a smile on Dark Pit's face. And, he is smiling. He is actually having fun. Even if the fun is about pummeling someone else with balls of snow.

It doesn't take too long for the two of them to get tuckered out. The two of them head back into the mansion and into the cafeteria. They're the only ones, so they sit at a table, across from each other. They sit in silence for a bit.

"So…Pittoo?"

"What is it?" Pit smiles a bit before smiling himself.

"I saw that smile you had out there."

"I didn't have a smile."

"Yes, you did."

"No, I didn't."

"Yes, you did." Dark Pit rolls his eyes. He knows if Pit gets his eyes on something, he won't give him.

"Whatever." He gets up and walks over to the food counter and grabs a water bottle. Pit's smile gets wider as he walks back to his seat. Pit looks down at his hands.

"I'm sorry."

"What are you on about now?" Dark Pit asks, his voice slightly annoyed as he drinks some water.

"I feel like I've been….moving away from you. And I don't mean to do that. So…I'm sorry. I didn't want Sora to feel out of place." Dark Pit looks down at his water bottle and moves the bottle around, watching the water splash around.

"It's whatever." Dark Pit looks up and sees Pit needs more than his typical reaction. He sighs faintly before pointing the water bottle toward him. "Want a drink?" Pit nods his head before gently grabbing the bottle. He goes for a drink. "Don't worry about…all of this. It's truly whatever. Sometimes you're just too nice for your own good." Pit takes a drink and passes over the water bottle.

"I promise to be a better friend to you!"

"Pft, we were never friends," Dark Pit says as he scoffs and looks away. Pit simply giggles.

Not too long later it's finally time to open the gifts. Pit and Dark Pit join everyone in the main living room. The Christmas tree is bright, and the room is dark, so it's able to show the gifts under the tree much more prominently. Mario stands up and clears his throat. But Pit doesn't really listen to him, just thinking of the gift he put under there. He doesn't find the time to take it from there, so he starts to slightly get worried.

However, the gifts are passed out much faster than he expects because the next thing he knows, Dark Pit pats his shoulders. "Your gift," he simply says. Pit clears his throat as he looks down. His gift is the cliche look for a Christmas gift. On the tag, it says it's from Sora. He unwraps the gift to see a fun little halo. Ever since he joined the Smash Mansion he's felt less angelic than he actually is. He smiles at the halo and closes the gift. He's going to make use of it when he's not currently in a Rudolph cosplay. He moves the present away and looks at Dark Pit. He's got two gifts, both from him, but only one labeled with his name.

Dark Pit opens the gift labeled with Pit's name. It's a simple Darkrai figure, Dark Pit's favorite Pokemon. The figure is very high quality, more so than many Pokemon figures. Dark Pit looks over at Pit with a look of annoyance, but Pit can tell he's thankful for it. Sora soon appears next to Dark Pit and smiles. "Well, open the next one, Dark Pit." Pit gives him an evil look, but Dark Pit simply shrugs.

He opens the gift and sees….nothing. He tilts his head before tossing it away. "Shitty prank," he simply says. Pit grows confused. Dark Pit stands up and yawns. "I'm just going to head off to bed." He walks off, leaving Pit with Sora.

"The heck? There was totally a note in there…"

"Oh, I burnt it," Sora says.

"WHAT!"

"You don't need to manipulate him in that way. Just be honest with him. I saw that you were doing it already, so there's really no need for it." Pit looks down and sighs. "Just show him you care, and that should be all you need." Pit looks up at him and nods. But soon after he flicks his cheek.

"That's what you get for telling my secret."

"...Yeah, sorry about that," he nervously says. Pit stands up.

"Well, imma go annoy Pittoo some more. You fine without me?"

"Of course I am, now go on." Pit smiles before running off. Sora watches him run off and remains in the living room after everyone leaves. He sits back in the chair. "I have other plans…" The ground behind the chair opens up, and the chair flips Sora back down and into the hole. He slides down a long ramp and stops at a very deep room. He stands up and cracks his neck. There's a dungeon-like lever on the wall. He flips it up and sees…Sora chained to the wall with scratches all over his body. He snickers. "Hello there. Being you is tough, I have no clue how you handle it." He pulls out a mirror and smirks. "But damn is it good to have some skin again. So long, Wonderboy." This Sora walks off. He's not actually Sora, but who could he be?
