Chapter Three
Morgan's Journal
-Day One
This world I have been summoned to my summoner is quite peculiar. I have discovered this world is flat with a great waterfall at the end of it. This world consists of a single continent, though the inhabitants of Arlam village have informed me that there used to be more but however, the Witch of Envy, Satella had destroyed half of the World before being sealed away. I had questioned why she was sealed away instead of killed. The hypnotized villager said it was because she was immortal. I now wonder to myself why does she care for my retainer. She used the term beloved as if they were married to each other, but he seemed not to know of her, and she was sealed over 400 years ago, and my summoner is only 17 years old. He has no life-stealing tendencies or does not seem to be immortal. Perhaps the vaunted seal is not that good or has decayed over time allowing her greater access to the world. She probably can temporarily manifest in the world through agents such as the Witch Cult and Subaru. Though This world does not have a Counter Force it gives out something called Divine blessings. A gift to random people gives a certain boon in some things. I must return the villager now before the alarms are set off. I have recommended to my summoner to gain the trust of the Mansion inhabitants.
-Day 2
I am not sure how to deal with kids. My adopted daughter Baobhan was nice until she was betrayed by the Faires and killed, and so I tried to instruct her to be cruel in her second life to protect her from that fate but I failed and she was... I do not wish to speak any more about that subject. I just will do some magic tricks for them and help the villagers with some magic. When I am not working in my temporary workshop. The Lord in charge of the domain is called Roswaal L. Mathers, an eccentric man in a jester costume is the court mage. I had figured out his strength. He does seem strong, but I easily surpass him in might. As of right now, I believe that only the current Sword Saint Reinhard Van Astrea, the Divine Dragon of Lugnicia, Volcanica, and perhaps the Sage Shaula, though the Sage hasn't been seen for centuries. I wonder if I should try to summon my knights to these lands. It is quite easy to support myself. It would be a good idea, but not now my magical energy is not strong enough to support all three yet.
-Day three
My master has asked if I would be willing to participate in Radio Calisthenics today near the mansion. I have decided it would be good to try and build a bond with the girl that master seems to have a crush on. That Half-elf named Emilia seems to be quite innocent and naïve, and also fearful of showing her face to the village. She is also quite wary of me, and that cat spirit called Puck. I should perhaps start cloaking my magical energy. My master seems to trying to get instructed on magic. That cat spirit I would really call a good teacher had mentioned his gate had not seem to been only recently open and it is getting stronger by being almost constantly in use.
"Master, I would suggest moving away from the subject on what the gate is used for and try to learn some spells from him. I will teach in my own magic later." Morgan said over the link.
Subaru started, surprising Emilia.
"What is wrong Subaru?" Emilia said.
"Nothing." Subaru said smiling at Emilia.
"I wonder if I learn a super powerful magical spell. That can one hit anyone." Subaru said to Puck.
Want me to figure out what your attribute is?" Puck slowly moved his tail and touched Subaru's forehead with the tip.
"Magic users are divided into fire, water, wind, and earth attributes."
Subaru's forehead began glowing as the sound of meowing filled his head.
"Whoa, that's totally a magic sound effect!"
Morgan looked on amused.
Subaru looked up with excitement.
Puck stopped and removed his tail from Subaru's forehead. "I know what your attribute is."
Subaru jumped in place while holding his hands together with an excited smile. "Yes! I've been waiting for this! Is it the burning fire of passion? Or a relaxed cool guy water type? Or maybe a gentle wind blowing across the plain? Or is it solid, reliable earth?"
Subaru thought about all the different attributes as beautiful soothing and exciting places of mystical sights.
Only for all of them to get swallowed up in a black void of nothingness as Puck announced.
"Shadow." Puck says.
"All rejected?!" Subaru wallowed.
"Wow, Shadow? That's very rare." Emilia entered the conversation as she stood beside the two.
"What is a shadow anyway? Weren't there only four attributes?" Subaru asked in misery.
"In addition to the four basic attributes, there's also shadow and light." Puck explained.
Subaru grinned smugly. "Is it actually some amazing ability? Like a talent that only comes along once in 5,000 years?"
"With shadow magic, you can obstruct an opponent's vision, block sound, slow their movements and things like that." Emilia explained to the proud boy.
All the excitement that was on his face disappeared, replaced with a deadpanned expression as his dream to become this Zelda's Link died with the explanation of his ability helping him understand what he can do.
"Only debuffs!"
"An easy one would be something like Shamak." Puck mused as he flew around them.
"That's a blinding spell, right?" Emilia asked.
Puck nodded and floated in front of Subaru. "Want me to show you?"
"For real?! Let's see, let's see!" Subaru smirked in excitement as he readied himself.
"W-Wait…" Emilia reached her arm out to stop anything reckless from happening…
but it was too late.
"Shamak!" Puck said and forced a spell on the boy.
Darkness…
Subaru was sitting in an endless void of darkness.
He tried to scream and yell something, but his own voice was taken from him. He was a part of this darkness.
Just like that moment where his heart was crushed.
He was unable to do anything in this darkness.
He was a slave to it.
To the dark hand that well inventively comes and takes his heart in its crushing grip once again.
Screaming and yelling silent sounds into the void, he tried to run.
He didn't want that hand to come for him.
Then he felt comforting presence in his mind.
"It is going to be okay, I am right here and ready to assist you." Morgan said over the mental link.
"Okay, that's it."
Subaru opened his eyes and found himself in a different part of the garden as Puck stopped the spell.
"What'd you think? That was Shamak."
"Are you all, right?" Emilia asked from behind him.
Subaru gulped nervously as he realized that nothing was coming to crush his heart.
He was safe and Morgan was here.
Slowly, turning around and smiling at Emilia, Puck and Morgan. "I-I'm fine!" Subaru assured nervously.
"It's not too flashy, but it seems pretty effective! That means I can use this Shamak, too, right?"
"Well, that depends on your training. Want to try the beginners course?"
"I would recommend doing the course, I will be back at the village, you can call me back if you need help over the mental link or worst case scenario, a command seal." Morgan said over the link
Subaru and Puck shook hands and paws in solidarity.
"Please, Master!"
As Morgan walked back to village, she was greeted by the young kids,
Hello Ms. Morgan!
It's the story teller!
The icy Queen is here!
Morgan gave them a soft smile and went to her workshop as she was entering it, she noticed her master mana drain out suddenly and wave of exhaustion over him, concerned she sent over a question to him. He responded that he was ok. She went inside and proceeded to work on mystic code, her Pan-human counterpart had created known as the Dagger of Erosion.
Day four
I am planning to watch Subaru and the Oni maid known as Rem on their journey, as Subaru has indicated she is most likely to kill him.
