Chapter Eight:

To say that many people were surprised (and maybe a little upset) when Blake suddenly appeared in a seat next to Luna Lovegood, unceremoniously stealing someone's seat in the process (not that she cared), was quite an understatement. While the bug, who's seat Blake stole, walked away grumbling not-so-pleasant things under their breath, Luna on the other hand just greeted the Infinite Demi-Dragon Goddess cheerfully as said Demi-Dragon Goddess took the seat she had just stolen.

"Hi Blake!" Exclaimed the normal Demi-Goddess.

"Greetings caterpillar." Replied Blake, saying the word caterpillar in a rather affectionate manner, not that most people could tell since she still pretty much always spoke in a deadpan, a barely noticeable smile forming on her face.

"The bugs giving you a hard time?"

"Indeed, they were quite irritating."

"…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"Candy?" At this, Luna offered Blake a small bowl filled with various kinds of candies, some of which appeared to be moving. Something that made Blake send the normal Demi-Goddess a questioning look, indicated with a barely raised eyebrow.

"Why is there movement in that bowl?"

"Some of the candies are alive thanks to magic." In order to emphasize what she just said, Luna grabbed a gummy worm from her own bowl. A worm made of wine gum that was moving as if it was an actual worm. "For example, these little rascals are actually quite easy to eat. Just point them and your head the right way and they'll crawl down on their own." As Luna said that, she pointed her head upwards and the gummy worm downwards before putting it in her mouth. And wouldn't ya know it, the gummy worm actually crawled down on its own. "So… want some?"

"Sure, these wizarding candies should be a bit interesting." Replied Blake as she took the small bowl of candies that Luna offered her. "Any warnings?"

"You might wanna try some sooner than the others."

"Why?"

"Otherwise they try to escape." To prove her point, Luna indicated this by pointing her index finger at a punch praline-spider that was trying to escape the bowl, who ultimately failed due to Blake grabbing and eating the sweet arachnid.

"Hmm… interesting." Said Blake to herself as she took a piece of wizarding candy from her bowl, specifically a peppermint beetle, who tried futilely to escape her grip.

By the time Blake had swallowed the peppermint beetle, the announcer had just finished explaining the task to the audience. Apparently the contestants were supposed to steal a golden egg from a female dragon. Something that the Infinite Demi-Dragon Goddess figured should be entertaining, and not just when the other so-called champions were supposed to have a go at it, but also when it was her own turn… hopefully at least, as she actually doubted that it would be an actual challenge for her. As the other so-called champions completed the first task, the Infinite Demi-Dragon Goddess found herself entertained by their respective performances. The ant she shared a magical link with having the entertaining performance out of the bugs. Mostly just because of the sheer amount of collateral damage he inadvertently caused as the so-called dragon chased him. Though calling that oversized flying salamander a dragon would be an insult to the real dragons Blake both knew of (and had met for a very brief moment because of an incident involving a misfired teleportation where she ended up on the dragon's snout as a child, before teleporting away out of the dragon's home).

When the announcer finally made the announcement that the ant known Charlie Potter was done with the first task, they gave the audience Blake's introduction as the Infinite Demi-Dragon Goddess used a transportation circle to teleport back to the champions' tent.

"And last but not least, from parts unknown! Give it up for Blake Potter!" Announced the announcer enthusiastically. They sadly didn't get to continue the announcement as a very irritated Blake interrupted by shouting with a magically amplified voice in clear irritation…

"It's Ouroboros! Not Potter, bug!"
