Chapter Twenty Two:

To say that many people were surprised by the new Luna Lovegood was quite the understatement. Hell! Some people, like the cockroach and worm, downright refused to believe that the newly blue-and-red-eyed girl and the old Luna was the one and the same person.

Something that Luna had started to notice since her… awakening was that, unlike what she had previously believed, Blake wasn't always in bed with her, or at least not for the entire night. Only joining the Demi-Goddess in bed after a few hours into the night. Feeling worried and maybe a bit paranoid about the, as unlikely as it was, possibility of Blake cheating on her, she decided to remain awake and confront her mate one night.

Having taken some pepper-up-potion to remain awake until midnight, which was when the familiar light of Blake's magic circle shined in her room a short distance from her bed, Luna suddenly sat up, surprising Blake, who had assumed her mate was asleep.

"Where have you been?" Asked Luna rather bluntly.

"Taking care of a certain problem… outside the castle grounds."

"And what kind of problem would that be? Trying to satisfy a certain itch?" That question/accusation actually made Blake pause.

"What exactly are you asking?"

"Don't change the subject! Where were you tonight and last night for that matter!? Been seeing someone else behind my back!?"

"No."

"Oh really? Then what have you been up to at night!?"

"Pest control."

"Pest control?"

"Yes. The removal of that magical array caused the release of your previously suppressed power, but it also turned the attention of more than a few creatures that go bump in the night towards the area. I've been the one to take care of those pests. Keeping you and the rest of these bugs safe."

"I see. Sorry about that. I feared you were cheating on me."

"Don't be silly. I would never do that."

"I know. Now strip and get over here!"

"Oh? How bold of you. Do I get a kiss?"

"Maybe, now come here before I change my mind!"
