It's Christmas time! This story is canon to 'The Missing Piece' . This is Korra and Asami's first Christmas, please enjoy! Happy Holidays
LOK
It's not that Korra wasn't excited about spending Christmas with Asami, it was their first Christmas after all, together. Of course they've been together for years but it wasn't like they were able to spend them together, together. They started dating in highschool and through college but they were always with their own families. Now that the couple were living on their own together they were able to finally have their own little Christmas. Granted, they were living together for two years, last Christmas their families wanted their own daughters again. Two Christmases spent in Republic City and the other down in the South pole. But this year was theirs, finally. But, it's not like Korra wasn't excited about it, it was Christmas eve after all. What she wasn't excited about was the argument that just transpired between her and Asami. What began as a sweet and romantic Christmas Eve evening turned into Korra chasing after a storming off Asami like a lost puppy. She tried to catch up but Asami's long strides kept her in the lead. Her red scarf trailing in the wind behind her. Her quick paces heard by the crunching of snow under her feet. Korra tried to keep up, somewhat walking and running cautiously trying not to slip and fall.
"A-Asami wait please!" Kora called out over the snow and wind. She picked up her pace to catch up but she couldn't. It felt like Asami picked her pace up. As they kept this game of chase up neither one of them realized they were leaving the city limits. Asami kept her lead for a few minutes and Korra kept calling out after her. She finally ended her game and stomped her foot and turned around. Arms folded
"What Korra?" She said harshly. Korra finally was able to stand at least close enough distance from her. She paused to take breath, half walking and running in the cold can really take your breath. Breathing hard she was able to at least muster some words out.
"Asami, I…" She takes a hard breath. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset. I just meant that.."
"Meant what?" Asami says with the same tone. Cold breath left her mouth and trailed up into the night air.
"I just meant that I wanted this to be our Christmas. I didn't mean I don't think we shouldn't spend any Christmases with our family. I just got excited thinking about how we finally can spend Christmas together for now on. I was just saying now that we are together and being each other's family we shouldn't have to be with them all the time." Korra finished letting a cold shutter escape from her body. Asami's posture softened and she uncrossed her arms.
"I'm sorry Korra...you know since my mother died and all It was always just me and my dad. So it kind of felt like I would be leaving him behind with no one."
"I know Asami and I never intended to take you away from your father. I was just happy that finally we could have our own little Christmas and start our own family traditions. Which can always include our parents." Korra said, taking a slight step towards her lover.
"I know that now Korra and I'm sorry for blowing up and walking away. I just got scared that's all. I should have been more excited about starting our own traditions." She said softenting her defense. Korra just smiled and laughed. She waved her girlfriend over to her so they could hug it out.
"Asami looked around smiling realizing where they were. "Hey Kor, we made it all the way to the R City pond." Asami called out. The once flowing pond was now covered in a layer of ice.
Korra looked around two now realizing Asami same thought. "We are over here, that's crazy! Maybe next week we can go ice skating?" Korra called out over their distance.
"Definitely!"
"Now come give me a hug baby, it's cold." Korra said rubbing her coat sleeves.
Asami smirked and walked towards her. "Oh, I thought southern water tribe folks don't get col-" The icy floor cracked beneath her feet. CRRRRK. The floor opened and the dark pond engulfed her. Asami yelped as she was dropped in feet first into the freezing depths of the pool. She began bobbing back and forth in the water trying not to get swept by the current down further under the icy sheet. She tried to call out to Korra but the water was too much.
Without any hesitation Korra sprinted to Asami's aid and baseball slid to the hole where Asami was. She could see her mate losing the battle against the current, she reached in fishing for her hand. By this time Korra's whole upper half was submerged in the water and she grasped a hold of Asami's hand. With a huge heave and a deep grunt, Korra lifted herself and Asami's body out of the water. The water splashed everywhere as they both landed on a fresh snow pile. They were both breathing hard. Korra quickly reached over to Asami brushing her wet and cold hair out of her face. Asami's face was already pale and red. Her mouth let out quick and heavy breaths seen in the cold air. Asami's body began shaking uncontrollably as the cold air and water began to sink into her skin. Korra quickly wrapped her body around her trying to preserve some type of heat to keep her warm.
"Asami baby, listen to me we have to hurry and get these clothes off of you. But I need you to slow your breathing so that you can retain some heat." Korra got up and slowly began to help Asami up. Asami slowly got up still shaking. "O-okay" she said through gritted teeth. They both walked swiftly but not too fast to get back to their car. Once in the car Korra blasters the heat trying to get both their body temperatures back up. Korra began peeling Asami's clothes trying to get those wet and almost frost bitten things off. Once successful she made sure to keep the heat on high, turning the vents toward Asami. She flipped on the seat warmers, trying anything to warm her baby up. She herself began taking her shirt and jacket off to warm herself up. She wasn't as bad off as Asamii, one because she wasn't fully wet and Also she is from the southern water tribe. She's somewhat used to these things. She began feeling her body temperature return and drove off toward their house.

Asami rose from her bath, she felt way better and felt her body temperature return to normal. She dried off and got dressed. Once out of the bathroom she followed the sound of Christmas music to the living room. She saw Korra sitting on the couch bobbing her head to Santa Baby, with a cup of tea in her hand. Korra opened her eyes and smiled. She reached over to the side table next to her and handed another cup of tea to Asami. She smiled and took the cup and sat next to her laying her head down on Korra's shoulder. Korra hummed in appreciation and smiled resting her head on top of Asami's.
"Thank you." Asami said, looking forward to the tv. Korra kissed her head.
"No need to thank me. I'm just glad I was able to get you and bring you home."
"I don't know how you do it Korra, you're not even cold or shaking. I know my body temperature is normal but I still can't warm up." Asami said, moving to look at Korra.
Korra smirked. "Well ya know I am from the southern water tribe. I don't get cold" Korra said, finishing off what Asamii would have said earlier if she didn't fall. Asami slightly punched her arm, rolling her eyes.
"No but seriously, things like that happen so much when I was younger I think my body just got used to it." Korra responded.
"Well how did you guys use to warm up? I know y'all didn't take the cars that far out nor was it close enough to your house to quickly get back."
"Well…" Korra trailed off slyly smirking.
"What?" Asami said, intrigued.
"Well we have two ways of warming up."
"And those are?"
Korra looked at her. "Either we drank liquor or have sex if you were old enough." Korra said with a crooked grin.
Asami mirrored her same smile. "Well since we don't have any alcohol, I guess we gotta do the latter." Asami put her cup down and pulled Korra in for a kiss.

Korra kissed up Asami's naked stomach trailing them in a line. She kissed around both of her breasts and laid in between her thighs. She kissed all the way up her neck and all around the edge of her jaw line. They remained like this for a moment. Korra picked her head up from Asami's chest and saw her eyes fluttering open and closed.
"Well, I guess our lil 'warm up' gotcha sleepy." Korra said grinning. Asami sleepily rolled her eyes at Korra and tapped her head.
"Don't get a big head now." Asami muttered.
This made Korra grin and nuzzle more into Asami's chest. After a few moments Korra rose and picked up the sleeping beauty. She carried her bridal style to their bedroom and laid her naked beauty in the bed. She kissed her hand and whispered. "Tomorrow I will make you my forever."

Asami woke early to the lack of extra warmth from her loved one. No matter how much she moved her arm across Korra's side she couldn't find her lover. Her ear caught the tune of Michale Jacksons 'I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus." She could hear Korra singing to it which only made her smile, because she knew Korra only really sang when she was excited about something. She quickly got dressed and slid on her fuzzy slippers. She walked to their open concept living room, kitchen area and smelled the sweet aroma of hot chocolate. She could see Korra two stepping and swaying to the beat. Asami looked over to the bar area and saw an already made cup of hot cocoa. She picked it up and joined Korra in their living room. She sat on the couch and sipped her cocoa as she watched her lover dance. Asami began humming to the song which made Korra turn around as she was not aware of her lovers' presence.
"Hey! You're up sleepy head." She said as she hopped over to the couch next to her lover. She plopped down almost spilling Asami's drink.
"Calm down there buckaroo" Asami said, patting her thigh.
Korra looked at her incredulously, She took Asami's cup out her hand and stared at her. "Calm down? Do you know what today is Ms. Sato?!" She said jumping up while holding Asami's hand.
Asami rolled her eyes and laughed "Yes Korra it's Christ-"
"CHRISTMAS, yes!" Korra said hopping around like a kid. She ran over to their speaker and turned the Christmas music up louder. She began putting on a show for Asami, parading around, dancing and singing to the song "This Christmas" (Chris Brown's version). Asami could only laugh and cheer her lover on as she made a fool of herself. Even though Korra was goofing around she still had a nice voice. As the song ended she turned down the music. Asami whistled and clapped her on as she bowed.
"That was good baby!" Asami called out from the couch.
"Oh ya think so?" Korra asked, winking. She picked up one of the gift boxes from under the tree and sat down next to Asami. She handed her the box. "Well maybe this is just as good." Korra said as she laid her arm across the back of the couch behind Asami. Asami gladly took the present and began ripping the paper. She took the top of the box off and looked down at the present.
"An avadcadooo, thankss." She said mocking the video of the little boy.
Korra rolled her eyes. "Quit playing." She said smiling. It was actually a beautiful handbag that Asami had been eyeing for some months now but never thought of an occasion to buy it for.
"Korra this is the purse I wanted!" Asami said holding it up.
"I know, crazy right, I had to have read your mind." Korra said sarcastically.
"It's beautiful! Thank you." Asami said and she kissed Korra on the cheek. She placed her first present to the side and crawled down on the floor next to the tree. She motioned for Korra to come down too. Once they were both on the floor Asami picked up one of Korra's gifts and handed it to her. Korra gave it a shake and held it to her ear.
"Ahh, it's definitely coal, definitely." Korra said joking
"Yeah, must be, you've been pretty naughty this year." Asami joked.
"Hmm I don't know I think you were more naughty than nice during our 'warm up'." Korra said back smirking
"Well I guess we've both been some ho ho ho's this year." Asami said back.
"Ahh that was a good one." Korra said laughing. After their little back and forth banter Korra started opening up her first gift. When she pulled the top off she saw a huge sketch pad and beautiful color pencils and charcoal pastels and markers. "Samiiiiiii." Korra said, kissing her cheek.
"I know you and the boys have been talking about you guy's clothing company and I know you're the designer so I wanted you to start it off right. Buttttt that's not all." Asami said, leaning over to get another gift box.
"This def beats coal." Korra said. Asami handed her the other box and Korra ripped through the paper in no time.
"Asami no! I know this isn't!" Korra said, holding up the white box. "You got me an Ipad Pro?" She said wide eyed at her lover.
"Yes!" Asami said, matching her excitement. Before Asami realized she was pulled into a tight hug by Korra.
"Thank you, thank you." She kept saying. She pulled away from Asami with the most love in her eyes.
After all, most all of the presents were open. They sat back and reeled over the presents they got from each other. "This is the best Christmas ever." Asami said, leaning on Korra's shoulder. Korra kissed her head and held her. Something caught Asami's eye that made her lift her head. It was one more gift under the tree. It was neatly wrapped and sat with a bow on top. Knowing Korra and how she rushes through things it was fairly odd to actually see that this was neatly wrapped. She sat on her knees and reached to grab the box. "Korra there was one more gift left." Asami said, sitting back next to her.
"Yeah that's your last present, Asami. I wanted to make sure I gave that one to you last." Korra said looking at her. Asami inquisitively raised her eyebrow
"It's not coal for real is it?" Asami said, suspicious.
"Let's find out." Korra said chuckling. "Unwrap it."
Asami unwrapped the paper from the box and was met with a cream colored box. She opened it up and there sat a blue engraved pendant. Asami, fairly aware of the Water Tribe customs, was sure that this was a betrothal necklace. She looked between Korra and the box mouth slightly opened. Kora kindly took the box out of her hand and took out the necklace.
"I...I look at you everyday and I see nothing but my future, Asami. It wouldn't make sense without you and it wouldn't make sense without being married to you. You were my Highschool sweetheart, my College and now I want you to be my forever. Will you marry me?" Korra finished. She was somewhat nervous but she was confident enough in Asami's answer.
Asami took a second before she said anything. She lifted her head up and Korra could see tears in her eyes. Korra was about to say something but Asami put a finger to her lip. She climbed into her lap and wrapped her arms around Korra's neck.
"Yes." Asami whispered as a tear fell.
"Yes!?" Korra said excitedly. She jumped up with Asami still wrapped around her waist. She spun them around. Asami hugged her tighter and whispered in her ear.
"This is way better than coal."
Korra laughed. 'I'd hope so!" She said putting her now fiance down. Asami turned around and moved her hair out the way for Korra. Korra placed the necklace around her neck and fastened it to stay. Asami turned around to show her. Korra couldn't help herself from grabbing Asami by the waist and kissing her.
"I love you Ms. Sato."
"I love you too." She said as she pulled away. "We gotta cook our meal for the potluck. Dinner's gonna start at 6!" Asami said as she pulled from her lover's arms.
"Yeah, lets start on it." Korra said as they both walked in the kitchen.

It was 5:30 when everyone started rolling in. Asami was still getting dressed but Korra was already dressed and setting the table. She had on some nice navy dress pants on with a white collared shirt. The brothers rolled in first with Opal, then it was Tenzin and his family, Hiroshi, and lastly Senna and Tonraq. Everyone brought their dish for the potluck and began sitting it around the table and the extras on the kitchen counter.
Asami was in the bathroom putting the finishing touches on her outfit, She was wearing a white dress that fit her body and curves and some black heels. She sprayed on her perfume and finished it off with tying her betrothal necklace back on. She touched the pendant and smiled to herself waiting and ready for their future together. After a final look over she left to meet their guest.
There were joyus conversations and laughs all around the table of family and friends. There was never a dead moment as the table rejoiced over their time together over the years and the presents everyone received. Once everyone began eating their food it did become a little quiet conversations here and there as people enjoyed the food they munched on. Bolin casually looked up smiling at his new found family admiring everyone of them. He looked back down and began eating his food
"Hey Asami, that's a nice necklace, looks handmade." Bolin says nonchalantly. Everyone heads pop up and a fork drops and clangs on a plate.
"Handmade?" Mako questions.
"Korra!" Seanna says
"Asami!" Hiroshi calls out
Opal squeals loudly, Lin claps and sits back in her seat. Pema holds Tenzin hand smiling and the kids all are filled with excitement. Bolin raised his head, not understanding what was going on. He looked around at everyone then back at Asami, then at Korra then back at Asami. His eyes Widened.
"OH SHIT, OH SHIT." He calls out
"Supriseeee" Korra says leaning back in her chair. Asami smilies with a blush on her face.
"You guy's are engaged!" Bolin yells out. Making everyone laugh for how slow he caught on.

Okay so I thought to end it here. I know that it's a few hours late but I had to babysit my nephew and Attack on Titans dropped today so ya know priorities. But alas, here it is a cute christmas story and by the way this is CANON to the story this is their first Christmas and also a year before Korra left. So I'm not sure if this makes her even more shitty or sweet. Time wise this would make them around 19 or 20. I also may do a part 2 but this one won't be Canon to the story, but it will involve Kato and Dakota, Korra and Asami at their own little Christmas. Let me know if you guys want that or just to get back to the story. Please Review
