Korra, I would say, woke to the loud ringing of her alarm but she was already awake, waiting for it to go off. She was excited, we all know she hated mornings but this morning was the morning her and Asami started working together. Nothing could beat the mood she was in right now. She jumped from her bed and rushed to the bathroom. She returned moments later sporting her best suit, forest green with a white button up. May have or may not have been for Asami but only Korra knows. She debated on texting Asami to see when she'd arrive so they could arrive together.

Korra picked her phone up from her side table, once she opened her phone she was happy to see Asami already texted her.

"Good morning my love, dropping the kids off should be at your job around 9:30."

Korra bit her lip trying to stifle a smile. She checked her watch for the time, she had about 20 mins to get to work. She slid her phone, keys and wallet into her pocket and got ready to leave. Before she fully left, she ran down to Bolin's door to make sure he was up, after knocking a few times he opened half dressed.

"Good you're up, don't be late!" She called out as she ran down the hall.

Bolin scratched his head. "Well good morning to you too then!" He called out after. She waved him off and burst through the door leading to the parking garage. She loaded into her Jeep and sped off.

"Okay boys mommy loves you, please be good and for spirits sake don't get into another fight. Both of you." She said, eyeing them in the rear view mirror. Kato snickered and Dakota rolled his eyes playfully as they both hopped out the car.

"Love you mom!" They both called out before closing the door. Kato and Dakota walked stride and stride into the school building. Kato's friend, Cameron called out his name for him to come over, but as Kato did for the last week, he'd wave him off and walk with Dakota to his classes. Dakota smiled inwardly as he was spending more time at school with his brother but he felt a bit embarrassed also.

"Bro you d-don't have to keep walking with me to class, I can clearly handle myself." Dakota said, mentioning his fight.

"Yeah I know." Kato laughed, "But I didn't realize that you weren't making friends that well and that those boys were picking on you. I want you to know you can hang with me and Cam anytime and that I got your back. Mom says don't fight but if it's for you, I'll always fight!" Kato said, professing his loyalty.

Dakota laughed at this, "Same here bro but I doubt anyone will mess with us again." He said facing his brother, he kept walking and bumped into someone. He dropped his book bag and his wallet fell out. He apologized to whoever he bumped into and tried to collect his belongings. Kato helped him but noticed that a folded piece of paper fell out of his wallet. Kato picked it up and looked at the paper and realized that it was the picture of his mom and Korra that Dakota had found. He was confused as to why he'd be carrying this around.

"Bro again with this? Why are you carrying it around?" Kato asked as he handed him the picture and his wallet.

"I don't know, I just think Korra is our mom even if you don't believe so. I just want to feel like I know her, I'm not sure." Dakota explained.

"Dude, like I said, someone as cool as Korra would never leave her kids. That can't be our mom." Kato said as he stood on the side of the hallway with his brother.

"I-I know that but what if she is, we don't know why she left. I just have a feel-" Dakota was cut off by the sound of the bell.

"Listen I don't know man just don't get your hopes up, I love you, come hang with me and Cam at recess today, gotta get ready for the basketball team" Kato finished, they did their signature handshake and went to different classes. Dakota went into class, ready to see his favorite teacher.

"Hey Uncle Bumi!"

"Yo what's up kiddo? How was getting kicked out?"

This made Dakota's tan cheeks turn red from embarrassment, "You heard about that too?"

"I mean you're like the new bad boy, everybody thought it was Kato." Bumi laughed as he clapped Dakota's back. "Either way don't feel bad about it, it's all in the past okay?"

Dakota smiled and nodded his head and went to his seat. He unpacked his things and waited for class to begin. When it came time to start on class work he had already finished before everyone else and fiddled with the picture in his wallet. Then the thought came to him. He looked between the picture and Bumi, peering back and forth until he came to the conclusion. He began to think about his family dynamics. He knew Bumi wasn't his real uncle but his mom had known him since she was a teen, so that's why he called him uncle. He's Tenzin's brother and the way Korra acted around Tenzin she must have had a close relationship with him. Which means….

"Bumi may know if Korra's my mom!" He stuck the picture back in his wallet and walked up to Bumi's desk.

"Need help on a problem buddy?" Bumi asked as he walked up.

"Well not exactly the problem you mean but…"

"What's up buddy? Need me to call your mom?" Bumi asked, concerned.

Dakota's eyes got big, "No,no!" He rubbed his head and decided just to ask and pull out the picture. "Okay do you know who my other mom is and is it Korra?" Dakota whispered…

Asami pulled up just at the time she said she would, she checked over her pants suit. It was a nice cobalt blue and was finished off with some nude shoes. She may or may not have worn this for Korra but only Asami knows. She checked herself in her mirror and saw Korra pull up out the corner of her eye. Butterflies, was it? Asami felt like she was too old to be this damn nervous. She stepped out waiting for Korra to get out so they could walk in together. Once Asami saw Korra she couldn't believe how good she looked, it always seemed to amaze her no matter how much she's seen her and Asami could tell Korra clearly felt the same. Korra walked up to her smiling, and planted a kiss on Asami's lips. Korra grabbed Assmi's waist to bring her closer. She pulled back and Asami's blushed played across her face, which made Korra smirk.

"Good morning, love" Korra said sweetly. Asami smiled at her, reaching back in for another kiss.

"Ready?" Korra asked as she led the way to the building. Asami waited as Korra pulled open the door for her to let her through. They walked over to the elevator and arrived on the third floor in no time. The door opened and Asami was met with a beautiful red hair receptionist. She stepped out of the elevator and noticed that her partner stiffened up a bit. This piqued Asami's interest. They continued walking until they were close to the desk.

"Ahh…" Ginger started off "If it isn't my favorite person." Ginger said flirtatiously. Asami raised her eye at this, and looked over to see what Korra would do. A playful smirk played across Asami's face as she watched Korra get uncomfortable. Korra eyed Asami and saw the smirk which made Korra even more uncomfortable.

"Uhh Good morning to you too Ginger." Korra said, pulling at her shirt collar. Ginger smiled flirtatiously and rubbed Korra's suit arm.

"You look very dashing today" Ginger said with her perfect smile. Ginger moved her eyes from Korra and spotted Asami. "Oh and who might you be ma'am? Do you have an appointment with Korra today?" Ginger said, sitting down after all her flirting. She looked over at Asami again to file her in the system. Asami walked up to the desk as if she was about to give her name

"Oh yes, I am the mother of Korra's kids. First name 'Mother of', last name 'Korra's kids." Asami plastered a fake smile on her face and she watched Ginger turn red and uncomfortable.

"Yes,Y-yes I will jot that down, please excuse my early behavior." Ginger said feeling chagrin.

Asami smirked as she walked back over to Korra. Korra opened the door for her and before she completely walked in she stopped and looked back at the very embarrassed Ginger. "Oh by the way it's Asami Sato, filling in for Mako and your new boss for the next two weeks." Asami said with a smile more dangerous than Gingers. She walked off and waited for Korra to come up behind her. Korra, who was still trying to process what just happened, quietly showed Asami where her office would be. Korra let her in first and closed the door behind them.

"Cat got your tounge, Ms. Korra?" Asami said as she walked around Mako's office.

"Well I-I mean no...noooo cool as ever." Korra said obviously not cool at all. Asami just rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Well she is pretty." Asami said, unpacking her things. She looked back up to Korra who's never been this quiet.

"Babe relax, it's funny you've got a work crush, it's okay." Asami laughed

Korra flabbergasted, yelled out, "I do not have a crush!" Pouting like a middle schooler.

"Yeah, okay. Anyways Ms. Korra I have work to do! And we don't want anyone to think we're doing anything else than our work right?" Asami said with a wink. Korra raised her eyebrow at this as Asami came around the desk. Korra braced herself for this sexual fantasy. She squeezed her eyes shut as soon as she felt Asami's lips near hers. She could feel Asami smile and sweetly kiss her and pull back. Eyes still shut Korra turned her head to the side, this wasn't how the fantasy played out. Korra peeked one eye open and saw Asami standing there with a playful smirk.

"Oh you didn't think we'd really have sex at your job...in Mako's office did you!"

"I mean I was just going with the flow ya know." Korra said sheepishly.

"Yeah whatever Kor. Now out, out!" Asami said, shooing Korra to the door. She opened the door and pushed Korra out. "Working is what we do here , please see yourself to your tasks." Asami said, trying to hold her laughter in.

"Yes ." Korra said bowing. She turned and saw Bolin coming up to them smiling. "Oooooh don't tell me you've guys already did the sexy office sex fantasy?" Bolin smirked. "Ohh an in Mako's office, classic." He said, trying to hi-five Korra.

"I wish." Korra said, smirking.

Asami rolled her eyes at them "Sometimes I wonder how you guys made it this far."

"Well these lil things called luck and looks darlin." Korra said with a side smirk low fiving Bolin.

"Oh yes, that. Must've been the same looks you gave our girl Ginger then?" Asami said with a raised brow.

Korra.

"And that's my que." Bolin said as he quickly walked to his office leaving Korra under the gaze of Asami.

"I-I'm going to get to work now."

"Mmmm yeah sound like a good idea" Asami said. Korra awkwardly turned and hurried to her office. Asami laughed at herself and returned to Mako's office. She got to work, though it wasn't much searching since Mako keeps his paperwork filed neatly. She began pulling out the previous financial paper works and began mulling over them. These were things she had seen before being that she does work at Sato Company. But some things she would have to research to get a refresher on. But as time went by she readily understood the position their company was on. They were in great standings, but as she kept thumbing through she couldn't help but think of ways that she could help them be even better. Before she knew it she was head deep in files and thoughts. It wasn't until a familiar alarm rang that caught her attention. She looked up and it was 2:30, the boys got out of school at 3:35. She was about to come to a stopping point when knuckles lightly tapped against the office door. "Please, come in. " she said with a smile.

Korra poked her big blue eyes through the door. "Hey my love, I wanted to see how you were doing?" She came in fully leaving the door ajar a bit. She slid into the seat across from Asami.

"Well I was on a roll but the alarm to pick up the boys went off. I really wish I could finish but-" she said as she started packing up. Korra grinned ear to ear.

"No no, I can get them babe, you're on a roll I don't wanna-"

"I can get them Korra, it's fine." She said as she continued to pack up. She was stopped with Korra's hand holding hers. She looked up and Korra's eyes were serious but sincere.

"Like I said, I got the boys, okay?" Korra said, removing her warm hand.

Asami relaxed and smiled, "Are you sure? Because it's no problem."

"I'm sure, I'm gonna have to do it one day and may as well do it today." Korra responded.

"Okay well let me call the school, and you remember everything right?" Asami asked, quizzing her.

"Yes,yes Asami. Wait in the car pickup line, ask about their day and if they're hungry. Call Jinora or Kai to let them know we are on the way and make sure before I leave they start their homework. A piece of cake" Korra said as she finished sounding off her marching orders.

"Yes and Yes, okay please call me if anything happens?"

"Yes my love, will call you if anything happens okay?" Korra walked over to Asami and gave her a kiss, which Asami happily returned. Korra pulled back and kissed her forehead before she departed. Asami picked up her phone, and phoned the school.

Dakota was back in class after lunch period and only had about 30 minutes left before school let out. The talk with Bumi didn't go as expected, well it was rather awkward. He could tell Bumi was hiding something. He said, Asami and Korra were close friends but he never hinted at them being together even after Dakota showed him the picture. Bumi did get a bit more flustered when showed the evidence that Korra is really Dakota's mom but he had to hold strong. Dakota could tell something was up, he was pretty smart, but without a direct answer he wasn't going to assume. "I mean they could have dated, but she could not be my mom. Maybe she knows my other m-"

"Hey Dakota, come here." He was cut from his thoughts, as Bumi, his teacher again , was his last teacher of the day. Bumi was still a bit awkward after the ambush but nothing could have prepared him for what just came through on the call.

"Yes sir?" Dakota asked as he stood in front of Bumi,

"So...you mom isn't able to pick you up today, but Korra will." Bumi got out awkwardly.

The spirits must have been on Dakota's side that day as he let off a sly grin in his head.

"Okay thanks. Does Kato know?"

"He may know but if you want to go tell him, take the hall pass he should be in 101E right now." Bumi handed him the hall pass and he tried not to skip out the door. He half ran half walked in the hallway trying not to get in trouble. He came upon Kato's classroom and knocked on the door. The teacher opened the door and smiled.

"Ah Dakota, can I help you?"

"Yes, could you tell Kato that our mom is having her friend Korra pick us up today?"

"Yes we just got the call about that, he knows." She said,

Dakota and Kato's eyes met briefly. Even though brief, their eyes hid a conversation.

Kato could see the ploy forming in Dakota's eyes and Dakota could see Kato eyes telling him not to go through with it. But he was far too deep, he was going to find out one way or another.

Korra arrived at the car line early and decided to park and just wait for them. She pulled her phone out to text Jinora and Kai. She got a reply of 'okay' within minutes. Korra was happy to get alone time with her sons, maybe too excited. School let out ten minutes later and she got out of the car waiting for the boys to come out. She saw Kato first then saw Dakota coming up. She could see them talking about something but she couldn't hear them. She walked up to greet them and the Car Line supervisor.

"Hey guys." She said coming up. She pulled out her ID to show to the supervisor. The boys were relieved to her care and they were able to leave. They all piled into the car and Korra turned to them.

"How was school guys? Sorry you mom couldn't make it, she had a lot of work today."

"School was pretty cool, boring until recess like usual." Kato said

"And what about you, Dakota?"

"Pretty good I got an A on my quiz."

"Ahhh smart like your mom I see." Korra said jokingly.

"Yeah I wonder which one though." He said, trying to see Korra's reaction. He noticed she froze a bit but she played it off.

"Yeah I don't know man but Asami is pretty smart so it may be her." She said smiling, tuning around back in the driver seat.

"Yeah well school sucks, I wonder which mom I get that from" Kato yelled out.

Korra laughed and thought to herself "Yeah you definitely get that from me"

She pulled out of the school parking lot.

"Well what do you guys want to eat?" Korra asked as she stopped at the light.

"Repub Pizza." Kato called out. "You good with that bro?"

"Yeah I'm cool with it"

"Well Repub it is." Korra added.

They pulled into the parking lot in no time and entered. She greeted her old friend who raised an eye at the two little ducks behind her.

"Kato, Kota back again and not with your mom?"

"Yeah mom had Korra pick us up today?" Kato answered.

"Okay then! The usual?" He asked the boys.

"Yes sir!" They exclaimed and ran to their booth.

He pulled Korra in for a water tribe hand shake and quietly asked her "Do they know…?"

"No, no they don't, so keep it on the low okay?"

"Mouths closed. But they're smart, they're gonna find out."

"Yeah I think Kota already knows. I think Kato's just here for the ride." Korra laughed.

"Yeah Kato took the brains after his mom, and I don't mean Asami." He laughed heartily.

"Yeah yeah fuck you." Korra said, laughing with him. "Bout 20 minutes?"

"You know it." He said.

She slid into the booth with the boys, feeling a tad bit awkward, what was she supposed to talk to them about? They do like sports and skateboarding maybe that? Fall is coming soon so basketball is about to start up for AAU.

"Sooo are you guys ready for basketball?"

"Yeahhh hopefully we get to play on the middle school AAU team, I think we're pretty good now."

"Yeah, but we need to pre-condition if we make it though. "Dakota added. "Hey Korra, you played basketball right?"

"Yeah I played in college."

"You think you could help us train. I love mom but she doesn't know much about basketball." He added

This made Korra laugh. " Yeah, she did track so she's not as versed as I am. But I can ask her if I can help." Korra finished off. The pizza was then slid onto the table by the waiter.

"Okay so I know you guys have homework after this, so let's not take too long so we don't get in trouble."

"Okay is Jinora watching us today?" Kato asked, stuffing his face.

"Yes she should be there now." Korra said, picking up a slice.

Then the thought came to Dakota. He pulled his phone out and texted Jinora.

"Hey mom said you don't have to watch us this afternoon, she said we can go to Korra's house." He hit send.

A few moments later, Jinora texted back.

"Are you sure? I'll call you mom just to check with her"

He froze, he had to think quickly. He remembered seeing on the Internet how people created fake text messages. He drafted some up and sent a screenshot to her.

"See." He said sending the message.

"Okay, thanks for letting me know." She texted back.

He smiled at his phone, his plan worked.

"Whatcha smiling at Kota?" He looked up quickly, closing his phone.

"Oh nothing!" He said stuffing his face.

After about an hour they were full and on the way to Asami's house to drop off Kato and Dakota, or so Korra and Kato thought.

Korra was a bit confused when she pulled up and didn't see Kai or Jinora's car.

"I thought you said Jinora was gonna watch us Korra?" Kato asked.

"Yeah she's supposed to, maybe Kai dropped her off." Korra said getting out of her Jeep. Kato and Dakota followed suit. She went up the front door and knocked, after a few moments there was no answer. She went around the garage and knocked on the door, no answer.

"Okay hold on guys let me call her."

Dakota froze again and this time his brother noticed.

"You okay bro?"

"Yeah, yeah I'll tell you later." He said not taking his eyes off Korra.

Korra called Jinora and put it on speaker.

"Hello."

"Yeah hey Nora, where are you, we're here."

"Hey, what do you mean? I'm on the Island with Dad. I thought You were gonna watch them. That's what Asami said." Jinora said, confused.

Korra thought for a second "Maybe she wanted us to spend time together? Lit!"

"H-hey, okay no worries, she may have forgotten to tell me, she was busy with a lot of work today. Where's the extra key though?" Korra asked.

"Oh Asmai doesn't keep keys outside, but she said you can take them back to your house." Jinora replied.

"My house?" Korra said aloud. "Wow maybe she's ready for us to move things faster?"

Korra let off a smile again. "Okay no worries, that's where we'll be." Korra said bye and hung up her phone. She turned to the boys and smiled.

"Looks like we are gonna go back to my place until your mom's home from work."

"Awesome!" They both said. Dakota was still thanking the spirits his plan still worked. They hopped back in and drove to Korra's place.

Korra unlocked the door and let the boys in first. "Woooow this is where you live, it's so big for an apartment." Kato exclaimed.

Dakota looked around. "Wow moms I-I mean Korra's apartment is so cool. Did I just call her mom?" He tried not to think of his slip up even though he knew deep down that was his mom. But how was he going to figure it out, he'd have to find evidence first.

"Okay guys," Korra said putting down her satchel, "We're a bit behind on schedule so let's get your homework done and if you need help just ask me okay." Korra said about to go to her room to change.

"Well mom usually looks over our homework with us first and then lets us do it." Dakota called out.

"Oh...Okay, yeah let's look at it. I'm not the brightest in the math department soooo."

"Yeah but Google is" Kato said laughing.

"Yes, that is true." Korra said laughing. The boys pulled their homework out and let Korra review.

"Okay, let's see here. Seems like just Math and Reading for you Kato and for you Kota,

Science and Social Studies." She handed their papers back. "Anything you feel you need help on or didn't understand in class?" She asked them leaning on the counter.

"Mmm I'll start it and if I need help, I'll come get you." Dakota said as he started filling out the worksheet.

"Well I definitely will be using Google for math, but if Google can't I will get you." Kato said as he started his Reading homework.

"Well alrighty then, I'm gonna go change, call me if you need me guys." Korra said, walking to her bedroom. She changed swiftly and sat down on her bed to watch tv.

As for Dakota he'd hold off on his plan for right now.

About an hour had gone, when Dakota finished his homework. He looked around Korra's apartment to see if he could find something, not much was out but the usual things. He wondered if there was anything that was in her room that would help him. But that would be hard to do since she's in there. He looked down the hall and saw more doors. "Maybe something is in the other rooms?" He was about to turn to get up when a hand reached and grabbed his shoulder.

"I know you have a plan." Kato said, staring at me. "What is it? And I saw you text Jinora. Mom didn't say that at all did she?"

Dakota threw on a nervous grin. "Okay, no she didn't say it, but I have to find out the truth even if you're willing to deny it, Kato" He whispered.

"Yeah but what if she isn't, now you pushed away somebody cool Kota"

"And if she is, Kato? Why are you so afraid?" Dakota said, getting upset. "You know, this whole time you've been against trying to find out. I know she's our mom, why do you keep trying to stop me?"

Kato faltered, "Because...if she is our mom, how would you be so easy to forgive her? She left once, what's stopping her again?" Kato whispered, putting his pencil down.

"Listen, like I said earlier we don't know why she left or why she came back. But I'd rather have her now then never again." He confessed.

Kato's eyes softened, " You're my brother, I just don't want you to get hurt. But I will go along with your plan."

Dakota gave him a side hug and thanked him. "Well what is the plan?" Kato asked.

"As of right now, just trying to find evidence."

"Okay, ask to go to the bathroom and maybe look through the rooms?" Kato suggested.

"Yeah that's what I was thinking. Korra, where's the bathroom?" Dakota called out.,

"Down the hall on the right!" She called back, not thinking.

"Okay thanks!" He hopped down from the bar and nodded to Kato, who kept watch.

On his descent down the hall he noticed the bathroom. The door was open so he pulled it closed to signal he was in there. He quietly opened the first door, it was just a closet. Then he handed the second knob and got a feeling. He pushed it open and there it was, the evidence he needed.

A bedroom, designed for a boy came into view after the door was open. He peaked out and waved to Kato. He jumped down and quickly walked to the bedroom.

His eyes widened in shock as he looked around.

"See I told you!" Dakota excitedly whispered. Kato was in disbelief, but he didn't want his brother to be excited and wrong.

"I mean yes this proves something, but what if she has her own kids and they just don't live with her? It is only one bedroom, she couldn't have two."

"True but this isn't the only bedroom, I think the other one is down the hall, let's go." They peeked into the hall, and quickly walked to the last door. They looked at each other and pushed open the door. Again they were met with another boys designed bed room. "I should have bet you money, Kato."

"Yeah, yeah shut up. This doesn't exactly mean we are her kids, she just may be a mommy too." He said as his brother walked around.

Korra, who was used to her guest bedrooms looking as they did, didn't even bat an eye when Dakota asked to use the bathroom. She honestly forgot about the rooms, until something kept nagging at her. "It's too quiet." She said aloud. She quickly hopped up and checked the kitchen, both were gone.

"Shit." She thought. She saw light peering into the hallway from a door being open. She quickly ran to the door and caught them looking around, it made her heart melt. But this wasn't how they were supposed to find out. "Hey guys whatcha doing in here." They jumped at the sound of her voice.

"Oh sorry I didn't realize what door was the bathroom." Dakota said, trying to cover up his plot.

"Yeah, yeah Kota asked me to help him find it." Kato said lying for his brother.

"Okay well let's get back to your homework." Korra said, trying to get them out.

They didn't move. "Oh Korra, cool you have kids?" Dakota asked.

She stuttered, "U-uh, yes I do, they don't live with me though." "I'll just have them think I have other sons." She thought.

"Oh man cool, are they around our age?" Kato asked, excitedly. "Maybe we can all hang out!"

"Y-yeah maybe you all ca-" she was cut off by her phone ringing. She sees Asami's name and panics a bit.

"Hey yes Asami?" She answers

"WHERE ARE YOU AND THE KIDS." She yells over the phone.
