Chapter Forty Six:

The Magical Menagerie was… in a word… loud. In the same sense as loud in a jungle. Various species of animals, Mundane, Magical and possibly (but unlikely) Supernatural, constantly making noise. Trying to get the attention of either the owner of the store or the two girls who just entered it, who the owner of the store didn't seem to have noticed due to the amount of noise. While most of the creatures inside lacked a Magical presence, Blake could sense one near the back of the store that was on par with her own, when she decided to let it out, as she subconsciously kept her power from leaking out. Which had caused various problems for her when around people in the past, usually by causing them to either faint, suffer violent heart attacks or… experience extreme arousal (though the last one very rarely happened).

Something that she could also sense regarding the Magical presence was that the nature of the presence was the opposite of the power of Infinity, the opposite of Blake and Ophis' power. The Illusion of Dreams. A form of Reality Manipulation, turning dreams and wishes into reality. The power of Great Red. Ophis' equal and rival.

Feeling curious and worried (something that some would argue about being out of character for the Demi-Dragon Goddess) about the Magical presence, Blake simply told Karna that the easiest way to obtain the companionship of an animal was to either dominate it using one own willpower manifested as a magical pressure, which was an advanced technique and therefore unlikely for the Reincarnation to actually work, or letting the animal make the first move towards the companionship and let the animal come to the potential new owner. Letting her daughter search through the Magical Menagerie for a companion of her own on her own while Blake searched for whatever was holding the Illusion of Dreams.

Upon reaching the part of the store where she sensed the Illusion of Dreams, Blake was greeted by the sight of a red Dragon with golden horns and spines sleeping peacefully in a cage, which seemed to have been expanded via Wizarding Magic if the spatial distortions were anything to go on. Despite having a description very similar to Great Red, this Dragon wasn't the Dragon-God, but still held the same power as him. Which made Blake suspect that the Dragon-God had done something similar to Ophis and made a Demi-Dragon God imbued with his power at some point. Meaning that the Dragon in the cage was effectively the child of the Dragon of Dreams. The red Dragon eventually woke up and noticed the Infinite Demi-Dragon Goddess, who had sat down in a cross legged position, watching it with an expression of curiosity on her face (not that most could tell since it had a strong resemblance to her usual expression of a deadpan). However instead of reacting with hostility or anything even remotely close to it, the red Dragon simply looked at the silvery grey-eyed girl with curiosity, more or less the opposite of what Blake expected her opposite to react upon seeing her, seeing as their parents didn't get along.

"What the hell are you staring at!?" Asked the Dragon in the cage rather loudly after a while, causing Blake to simply tilt her head to the side.

"I expected this to turn violent, but so far it hasn't… outside of your rather rude greeting, child of Great Red."

"Humph. I have a name you know and it's Rouge!"

"Greetings Rouge. Mine is Blake Ouroboros. You don't seem to be like your father, I kind of expected you to try and kill me, only for the battle to basically end up being an eternal stalemate. Neither one of us gaining or losing any advantage."

"Oh please! That feud is between our respective parents! Not us!"

"Hmm. You're not wrong. I don't see a point either in us inheriting the feud of our parents."

"Especially since the cause behind it is a very extreme case of unresolved sexual tension, and both parties are in denial of it!" That comment from Rouge, who let out a cackle, regarding the cause behind the feud between Ophis and Great Red caused Blake's lips to twitch upwards, indicating that she found the comment funny or at least amusing as well.

"As amusing as this conversation is, how about we put it on hold for now and resume it at a later time when both of us can be more comfortable? No offense but looking at you from this angle is kind of awkward and I'm starting to feel a bit of pain in the neck."

"Oh. Gotcha. You're not the only one who's started developing a pain in the neck. Do I assume correctly that you want to continue this conversation in human form, in a more comfortable setting?"

"Indeed." Answered Blake as Karna showed up at that point, turning around one of the nearby shelves, with a particularly small creature that originally lived in the snowy areas within Blake's domain in the Reincarnation's arms. A creature under the classification of Fanged Beast that looked like a hybrid between a bear and a hare (curiously enough). A member of the species that Blake had named Lagombi.

"Look Mom. I found this little guy and he seems to like me." Exclaimed Karna excitedly, earning something resembling a fond smile from her mom as the Lagombi actually snuggled up against the Reincarnation.

"A Lagombi. Somewhat unexpected considering that they usually live in rather cold areas. You're not the only one who's made a new acquaintance Karna. This is Rouge."

"Hi Rouge!"

"Rouge, this is my daughter. Karna."

"Sup?"

"… did the dragon just talk?"

"YES! I DID! GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT YOU BRAT!?" Shouted Rouge, rather loud and rudely, earning a glare from Blake who let out a magical pressure directed at the red Demi-Dragon God in the cage, as Karna quite literally leapt towards her mom to hide behind the silvery grey-eyed girl's back, the Reincarnation's head nervously peeking out over the very dark purple haired girl's shoulder.

"You have five seconds to apologize to her, or else there's gonna be… trouble."

"Uhm? Sorry I guess?" The fact that Blake's glare didn't let up meant that she clearly didn't consider Rouge half hearted apology good enough.

"Not good enough, you gecko."

"GECKO!? YOU WANNA GO, SALAMANDER!?"

"HEY! WHAT'S WITH ALL THE RACKET BACK THERE!? KEEP IT DOWN OR YOU'RE OUT OF THE STORE!" Shouted the owner of the Magical Menagerie, effectively shutting up the two Demi-Dragon Gods causing said racket. After a short while, Rouge turned their head towards where the entrance to the store was and for some reason their eyes widened.

"Woho!"

"What was that about… gecko?"

"An absolute hottie just entered the store! Hohoho. That's some big ones."

"Does this hottie have blue and red eyes along with black and platinum blond hair and an absolutely perfect figure?"

"Yes! How did you know?"

"She's my mate. Find your own to drool over, you gecko. Back. Off."

"She's yours!? Sorry!" Apparently the red Dragon seemed to have enough common sense to know when to back off, like peeping on someone's partner, or mate in this case.

"How did you even know she just entered?"

"X-ray-vision."

"*growl*"

"Calm down. I've turned it off and have no plans on turning it back on… for a while."

"Get your own girlfriend… or boyfriend."

"Why'd you say both? Wait a minute! You're bi?"

"Yes."

"Ever had-"

"Shut up."

"Why?"

"There are kids here. But to answer your most likely question, not telling."

"Not telling what?" Asked Luna as the Demi-Goddess rounded a nearby shelf.

"This gecko most likely wanted to ask if I've ever engaged in intercourses with either gender." Replied Blake as she stood up and gave her mate a kiss, before leaning in close to Luna's ear and whispering. "Which I have before as a female and would like to test it out as something in between male and female with you."

"Can you claim me as a female before doing so again as something in between male and female at a later point?"

"As you wish. Just give me the word and I'll be happy to oblige."

"Blake."

"Luna." The two mates leaned into each other, about to engage in another kiss, but…

"Um… Mom, Mommy, I think Grandpa said something about time and space." Stated Karna, who was looking at Rouge with the Lagombi still in her arms.

"I'm pretty sure it's time and place, not time and space." Deadpanned Rouge, causing the two lovebirds to blush (even Blake, though hers wasn't as noticeable as her mate's).

"Uhm, there's something I've been wondering since the start."

"Okay? What is it brat?"

"Are you a girl or a guy? It's kind of hard to tell based on your voice and your current form doesn't really help."

"Humph. If you must know, brat, I'm a girl. Wouldn't my name make it obvious?"

"Not necessarily. After all, my name originally belonged to a guy. Karna."

"Fair enough."
