As the summer started to reach its end and fall started to arrive, the two mates, Blake Ouroboros and Luna Lovegood, decided to take the opportunity to (finally) go out on their first date while they still had the freedom of summer. Seeing as her mate had been on dates before during her brief previous relationships, Luna let Blake take the lead and simply followed along. And since the two of them planned to just spend the day by themselves, they managed to convince Xenophilius and Rouge to basically babysit Karna and Entoma. Xenophilius didn't need much convincing since he was asked by Luna. Rouge on the other hand required some more convincing to provide the kids with some form of appropriate entertainment, namely Blake basically blackmailing the Demi-Dragon Goddess of Dreams with the photo she took, which caused the red headed Demi-Dragon Goddess to agree quite quickly by the reason of not ruining her reputation in the Supernatural World (which Blake neglected to mention was basically nonexistent considering that no one besides the little family, Entoma and Xenophilius knew Rouge even existed).
Once the mates left for their date Rouge simply asked the kids what they usually did when it came to entertainment, to which Entoma gave a rather disturbing answer. She was never allowed to simply have fun. Being either used as a guinea pig in one of her (pathetic excuse of a) father's alchemical experiments, studying Magic or taking care of the Chimeras her father had made, many of which wanted to either eat her or ask her in some manner to put them out of their misery (the latter case usually being Shou Tucker's previous wives and children, which he had used as guinea pigs for his experiments, often making speech difficult for them as a result of the experiments (more often than not even intentionally)). When Rouge learned that she almost immediately asked where the son of a bitch was so she could kill him, only for Entoma to inform her that Shou Tucker was already dead, having been eaten by one of the larger predators on the island in Blake's domain he and Entoma were stranded on when Entoma had been tasked to hunt something to eat (though the Chimera did mention that she probably would have snapped and killed her pathetic excuse of a father herself, most likely by roasting him alive and let her Rachniods feast on the resulting corpse).
With the mood starting to plummet, Karna quickly changed the subject to something more cheerful. Something that she would do to make it easier for herself to bury the bad things she experienced at the hands of her former guardian. Watch cartoons. Something that everyone agreed on as Rouge was curious what a cartoon was in the first place and Entoma had an idea of what a cartoon was but had never been allowed to watch any. Once Rouge used the Illusion of Dreams to create a tv with a rather big screen that worked despite the heavy amount of magic in the area, Karna was the one to find a channel that showed cartoons (as she was the only one who knew how to use a tv remote). More specifically a channel that was celebrating the 52:nd anniversary of a cartoon involving group of young detectives consisting of a guy who made traps, a fashionista, a smart girl, a food loving coward and the coward's talking dog solving mysteries involving monsters that always turned out to be people in costumes, by showing every single episode of every single series for the entire day.
By the time the two mates returned from their date, which was later than planned, they were greeted by the sight of the kids and Rouge sleeping together on a single big futon in the living room, with said kids seemingly humming a melody that might be a theme song. Instead of disturbing the sleepers by walking up the admittedly creaky stairs, the mates simply went to sleep together on the couch.
